A shudder found itself running through Minerva's very 'soul' at the sound of Countess' laughter... her sudden rising from the chair making her hair wanting to stand on end as she came behind her. Well, it seemed that she had made some kind of impression on the eldest... at least, she hoped those words were the truth.

Though, like so many times before, these thoughts were quelled the moment the Disciples nails found themselves digging into her shoulders, the slight pressure applied to them causing the tension within her form to loosen. There was no need to let Countess know just how terrified she was right now... besides, she probably could see it in her eyes anyway.

"She can't, Countess?" Minerva looked back at the Disciple, feeling that grip loosen itself a little. And, as she stood there, looming over her, Minerva allowed herself to listen intently to the words spoken. If Countess said Aurora could not be trusted, then Minerva was inclined to believe all of this... regardless if she'd been turned by her or not. "Very clear, Countess."

"Indeed" she responded still hovering deadly close to her willing follower. Oh how the Disciple wished many more were so obedient as this timid fledgling. Perhaps deep in Isadora's mind she desired to bring this girl to their ranks, not Aurora. But it was a pity since it wasn't her calling or rather business. The elders were the ones that issued the orders beneath her like ants and they upheld their status as Elders or lost it to an unsightly trip to the morning hours where the sun was given birth to. It was that simple really...

She paused as Shadow came close to her scratching beneath its chin like a pet, "Now that such things are made mention of I shall speak of my original intentions.

"Minerva..." she spoke in an strange yet deep elegant voice, "Tell me what you know of the Black Spiral Dancers. I know you've become foolish to corner one.... but it will prove of use to me. Consider yourself useful and not my downside for being so stupid dear and nearly getting killed..." She then pulled herself away for a moment into the shadows reappearing after a bit back in her chair. Locking her lithe fingers together she waited for Minerva's response.

Darker things awaited the girl deep in the bowels of the shadows...

Though stern words had not been used, Minerva could feel herself tensing once more beneath the watchful eye of Countess, the eldest among them displaying a truly overwhelming presence as she stood there. "I shall ensure that everything is noted when I meet with Aurora next, Countess... and I shall ensure that she is none the wiser of your presence. It shall be as you have ordered." She felt the need to express this, showing just were her loyalties lied now.

Silence soon washed over the meanki once more as Countess' words touched her ears... the true matter at hand being exposed to her, index finger gently sliding her glasses back into place. "Yes Countess.." She spoke softly, giving the Disciple her full attention. "I attempted to corner the Black Spiral that had been in services just outside of the city's limits... I believe her name was Kasdeya, if I'm not mistaken."

It was no trouble as all for her to recall such a name, Aurora having spoken of it the night she had been assaulted by the beast.

"I believe I should also note that there is another Spiral that was supposedly accompanying her as well when Aurora encountered her..." She took a moment to think of the name of the male, a warning having been given to her... a warning which she did not heed. "Aru'gah. That was the name Aurora told me."

Perhaps this ability of her's to recall such knowledge would 'impress' Countess even more, those slightly harsh words about her stupidity being meet with a simple nod. "I am honored you think me as such despite my actions, Countess." Once more she had to adjust her glasses, attention returning to the Disciple before her. "As for my encounter, what is that you desire to know?"

The Disciple smiled though it was more in shadow then her normal gallantry of "being nice". She curved the arches of her defined lips into a sneer that was powerful and foreboding.

"Come... I must show you something..." she hissed as her body moved silently out of the chair. Placing her long lithe fingers over the rim she pushed the velvet chair back in place. She moved quickly till she reached the door and opened it.

"Come Minerva... we mustn't waste time for shadows never linger past a sunrise..." she waited impatiently for the girl to follow her then she closed the door.

A confused blink was given by Minerva; her words seeming to have been brushed off by Countess at the prior moment. Was she going to question this? Of course she wasn't, the fledgling finding herself rising from her place at the table with that notepad clutched firm to her chest.

"Ye.. Yes Countess." She spoke in a simple yet respectful manner, wasting little time in following the Disciple through the doorway.

"Indeed", she hisses moving across the grand hall to the right corridor turning sharply before she neared the quarters of the would-be or rather wanna be fledglings. One was Aurora's blood and sought to desperately join the clan which made Countess detest him worse.

Reaching the back of the manse she found a doorway that was hidden by a tapestry, "Now child I will not guarantee even you could tolerate this secret because the stench is like no other. I ask in your assistance because it is approximately feeding time."

Looking around her for any signs of movement she ushered the fledgling to a hidden staircase, "Stay close and do not linger" she hissed once more then closed the door behind them letting only the ancient flickering lamps upon the wall light the way. The stench was pungent that would surely kill a mortal but she tolerated it. Now she would see just how strong this young vampire's stomach was.

Minerva walked in the most cautious of manners behind Countess, eyes darting to and fro in attempts to take everything in.

And, as she walked, those ears perked themselves curiously at the words spoken by the Disciple. "Feeding time Countess?" She inquired with a perked brow, keeping close to the elder vampire as they continued through the hidden hallway. "What do you mean by feeding time, exactly...?"

There was still several things that Minerva did not know about the manse, and she was becoming rather weary as to what was awaiting her down this hall... the thick stench that tugged upon her nose causing the meanki to wrinkle it in slight disgust as she descended the staircase.

Countess moved like a specter with her shadowy guise as it enveloped her in that shroud of power. Her familiar was seated upon her shoulder but something about its body language spoke a forewarned response. Whatever lurked deep in this Manse of shadows was more mystery then anything. Even the inhabitants of this eldest structure harbored any clue to the danger and menace the Disciple kept hidden away. Now Minerva would witness this dark foreboding lie she kept from her elders and childe.

As she traveled downward into the decent of darkness the smell increased that it affected her only for an instant. She turned to face her childer with glowing eyes that accented among the haze of blackness, "Yes my child it is indeed feeding time" she then turned and opened a door to another corridor letting Minerva enter before her.

Chattering of rodents caught her ears as did the distinct whimper further down somewhere.

Minerva treaded with caution down the darkened hallway as she followed closely behind Countess. There was something about this place that made the fledgling feel a bit of unease, her notepad being clutched tightly to her chest while eyes glanced at every dark corner they passed...

But, the darkness that engulfed them was nothing compared to the smell that flicked at her nostrils, a paw lifting itself in attempts to block out the stench. What was she keeping down here that would cause such a smell, she wondered.. brow perking yet again as Countess answered her.

No words were spoken in response this, a faint nodding of the head being given before she slipped down this new corridor... ear giving a flick as the chattering of rodents and the faint whimpering caught it.

Shadow flinched as her claws dug deeper into Countess' dress. The little familiar made its own whimper as it's eyes darted all around the small corridor. The Disciple's slender fingers pulled upward to gently touch her worried familar, "Shh I'm here my Shadow. Nothing will befall you this eve..." She noted the weariness and apprehension in her childer's steps and body language. Enter the door on the right before we proceed dear...". She motioned Miverva to the right-most door, "The food is in there. We'll grab that before we start the feeding..."

There was definitely weariness and apprehension held within the fledgling as she looked toward the door. The food was in there? She wanted to gulp, but figured that would only make her look weaker in the eyes of Countess.

"Yes Countess.." That was all she could bring herself to say, left hand reaching out to slowly turn the knob, nose wrinkling slightly at the foul stench that poured down the hallway. If whatever it was smelt this bad, she was beginning to worry how foul the stench of its food would be as she pulled it open...

The chattering grew louder as rodents with silken coats and bushy tails scattered at the sight of their visitors. Their shrieking was threats that rested upon dead ears as the Disciple walked past the younger vampire. Raising her hand she spoke, "Silence! All of you.... NOW!"

The shrieking and chatter died down to a murmur as they stood entranced by the eldest vampire's words.

"You know why you are here. Be polite and give Miverva a more friendly welcome shall we?" she smiled as the eyes simmered to blinking orbs and firmly nodded, "Come Minerva I will teach you something".

Taking a breath she opened the first poorly made hutch door and smiled. Flicking her wrist she summoned a tendril that snaked in grabbing a plump squirrel as it looped around the creature's neck. Flicking her wrist again she pulled the squirrel backwards toward her letting it rest on the floor still entranced.

Promptly she turned to Minerva, "Now Minerva show me what that elder has taught you dear. If you are rough that is fine. But do not kill them. We need them alive... for her".

Such a shrill and unwanted noise attacked the girl's ear as the door was pulled open, paws wanting to cover her ears due to the shrieking that escaped the 'imprisoned' creatures before them. When one was chattering, it was not even enough to be considered annoying... but to have an entire room going off at once? That was enough to give Minerva a splitting headache; the sudden raising of Countess' voice not helping this sensation in the least bit.

Then, almost instantly, the chattering ceased. Such power this Disciple had, the weariness the fledgling felt beginning to fade some. Though she had acted foolishly, Countess was willing to give her a chance to prove herself... a chance she did not intend to throw away.

"Yes Countess." Minerva spoke with the utmost respect, index finger lightly adjusting the glasses upon the bridge of her nose. She then lifted a hand, reaching out with her influence, seeking to summon forth a tendril just as her Disciple did... the inky black 'tentacle' moving to snatch the squirrel from where it'd been laid to rest.

However, unlike the control Countess had shown, Minerva was a little less skilled with such... the tendril snapping quickly, losing its hold upon the creature before letting it smack into the wall.

Countess watched as the childe fumbled miserably. She inhaled sharply reaching down to pick up the crumpled creature. The heartbeat was slow but it was still living thankfully. Her "pet" in the downward corridor probably would eat them dead but she preferred the "hunt".

"A shame really Aurora is your teacher Minerva. Come and I will show you the correct way. Remember we are the manipulators therefore we must control our own misunderstandings am I correct?" she spoke sternly as she moved over to stand behind Minerva. Taking the girl's wrist firmly in her own she demonstrated, "Concentration shall keep you alive M'dear. There is no second-guessing when using Obtentration Minerva."

As she held Minerva's wrist she flicked her hand out with the childe's own slender digits, "Aim carefully and be precise. This power is yours and yours alone, " she flicked hers and the other's letting a stronger tendril snake out and wrap around another fat squirrel. "Feel the strength of the lifeforce you capture" she then leaned in making sure Minerva was paying attention, "Now return your tendril as you released it bringing your quarry back to you."

Flicking the wrists again the tendril yanked out another squirrel letting it lie beside the other lying entranced.

She released Minerva's wrist once more, "Now show me what you have learned while I gather more. Quickly childe she's growing more hungry....".

From the distance there came a whimper that curled itself into a full howl. Indeed they were running out of time.... she was growing more powerful not fed.

Minerva was far from being in charge of her new found powers. This sudden display of it was more than certain of that, even if Aurora had been the one working with her since the embracing. "I... I'm sorry Countess. I still have much to learn..."

She began, feeling somewhat ashamed of the fact that she held no control. Though, that shame was soon replaced by confusion, feeling the stern grasp of the elder upon her wrists. "Ye.. Yes Countess." That respectful tone escaped her yet again, allowing the Disciple to guide her through the motions, the words sticking with her as they tingled her ears.

As her wrists became free from Countess' clutches, Minerva gave a nod to this. She would not fail again.

She began to concentrate. Concentrate even harder than she had previously, the shadows forming into a tendril... one that, even if still a little 'clumsy', snapped forth to open one of the crudely constructed 'cages'. Though, there was no time to let her mind become clouded by pride as the tendril snapped into the cage, pulling a squirrel out (not quite as rough as last time) before bringing it to lay by the others.

"Is that what you desired of me, Countess?" She inquired, seeking the Disciple's approval. It was still crude, but with time, she would be able to master it.
