And then, summoning what little strength he had left, Sparrow determinedly lifted the scythe, lifted the blade up, and let the shadows collect at the tip, churning and undulating thick and black. With a growl of ferocity he hadn't known he had, he gripped the weapon tight and swung it around with as much force as he could, propelling the shadow fragments towards the creature. They hit with the force of bullets, exploding black against its side, and the dog gave one last, long howl before it dissipated.
Sparrow took a step back, covered in ink, and turned towards he'd last seen the professor.
"Done, sir."

The curtains flew open, harsh white light flooding the stage. A single clap echoed in the emptiness of the theater, followed by foot steps. A light jump, and Rengath was back on the stage. "I admit you did well. No missing parts, no great damage to the stage or to the lights... It would have been expensive to replace them." A look to the reaper suggested he'd be the one paying for them if such a thing had happened.
"Overall? I'd say you're on your way, though you need more training as all young reapers do. Still, as far as your exam has gone Mr. Heartreed.." He pulled free a slip of paper from his sleeve. "Take this to the Office and be sure to fill out any paperwork they ask. If you have any questions about your exam, do not hesitate to ask and oh yes-" His fingers snapped, and the stage went dark.
"The ink should wash out."
