Finally, the zomboil was able to somehow pin the cat down properly do that he was able to brush it more thoroughly. It didn't stop the hissing, the yowling, or make the flycat appear anymore lovable, but at least it's fur was beginning to appear slightly more glossy!

Alex's thoughts ran along the same opinions as Mac's, though. This exam, if that's indeed what this was, was stupid.

"...As stupid as this exam would be if it WAS to groom a minipet...If this ISN'T the exam I'm done." Mac grit his teeth, reaching for the cat again only to have it bite him first thing.

"Do you have any pets, man?" Mac started, deciding that talking through their grooming was a better idea than sitting in silence. "I've got a group of scareon pups and they're nowhere near as bad as this little s**t---"

He tossed down his brush and sat back. "Yeah I'm taking a break from this s**t. Your turn."

"Ya, I hear you." Alex agreed, so far not at all impressed with what it was they were doing as he stepped forward to take his turn once more.

Okay, little flycat, it was just you and the zomboil now. Time to behave yourself or you wouldn't be getting any fear candy when this was all said and done.

"OW! Jacking b*****d..." The zomboil mumbled, after a particularly nasty bite from the minipets tail.

"Ya, I've got quite a lot of pets, actually, but none of them are really the type that need brushing. Mostly undead or zombie things, you know?" He went in to try and brush the minipet from hell once more.

This time, amazingly enough, the flycat actually sat relatively still while he brushed it out.

"Shhhh, there, ya, that's better. No more biting, okay little guy?"

Yes, he was talking to the minipet now, not you, Mac.

He had to laugh at the comment about the minipets teacher not having a well behaved pet, because it was just so true. What kind of minipets teacher didn't have well trained pets?

He really should not have been laughing. He should have been paying better attention to the flycat, since it just bit him again.

"Sit still." He growled from between clenched teeth now. At this rate, they were never going to have the stupid thing brushed properly before the professor returned.

Okay, so maybe the minipet took to strong, angry sounding commands better then soft placating. He actually managed to get some brushing finished before the flycat squirmed out of his grasp once more.

"Uggghhhh I'm done. You go again. This is stupid." He was too stressed out from other things going on to deal with this any longer. Mac needed to step up and up his game so that they could just get this finished before the professor came back and hopefully gave them a real exam.

"Nah that makes sense. I mean, why bother petting something that's rotting?" Mac agreed, before adding. "No offence.", which was somewhat out of character for him. Usually he meant all the offence.

When Alex turned it back over to him, Mac actually groaned. No, no he didn't want to. But he tried anyway, and got bit for his efforts.
