Right, well. Ow, that obviously didn't work.

His spar against Shaheen before paled against the hits that she was landing now. Of course, the horsewoman in front of him had let go of any restraints that she may have been paying attention to when they had been sparring. Things like making the battle a fair playing ground, letting him get attacks in...

Not killing him...

Finally realizing that he and Yuzhi would be in some serious trouble if he didn't take Shaheen down, the horseman summoned his bow again, drawing back the string and swinging the weapon up, letting the arrow loose one he found his target.

The two continued to fight against her, and it was showing in how her stumbles backwards were actually noticeable now. Still, she felt no pain, simply the longing for home, and the misery that came from believing she would never get there, or that these intruders would take her home away from her. All she wanted was her home. Why did they insist on trying to take her happiness away from her?

A well aimed spear, an arrow to the ample chest, as the insanity monster that was once Shaheen backed away it may have seemed like she was giving away, like she might actually back off and leave.

But then she surged forward once more, spinning, spreading her wings, trying to destroy them.

"Good shot, Grasshopper," she called out glad that he seemed to be, for now, getting his act together. She summoned her spear once more and threw it again trying to put all her strength into the throw but it seemed ... Not as successful as she thought it would be.

She hoped that this Shaheen's forward charge would have added yet more momentum but alas, at least she still hit!

What was that about Zhi getting his act together? The horseman already had another arrow notched before Shaheen could attack again, and he began to ready himself by swinging his weapon up like usual...

Only to somehow punch himself in the face instead.

The spear was enough to stop her charge and throw her back several paces before she steadied herself and hissed.

Just leeeeaaave. Leeeeaave hoooome.

She advanced on them once more, swinging punches wildly and haphazardly, missing, or at least attacking in such a clumsy manner they could easily dodge.

To say she was growing desperate to protect not just Zhiqiang but herself as well was probably the biggest understatement that one could make. She began to greedily gather up her FEAR seeming to grow in size as she summoned her spear back again, "NO. STOP IT. THIS IS WRONG. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS WRONG," she cried out, "LEAVE US ALONE. JUST QUIT. WE SHOULDN'T FIGHT WE ARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS...!"

She knew it wouldn't get through, she just knew but...

Her emotions were welling out again but she used this to get even more strength behind her spear as she flung it at the flailing form.

She wasn't listening to them, she wasn't snapping out of it, and she wasn't giving them a break. At this rate, unless they took her out first, they would be the ones to die. Truth be told, Zhiqiang really didn't want to seriously raise his weapon against Shaheen...but he couldn't simply stand by and watch Yuzhi get beaten up either.

Shaheen would be fine. Maybe not now, but he had confidence that the horsewomen would break out of whatever cage was currently trapping her.

The man's mouth was set in a tight line as, like Yuzhi, he began to gather his FEAR, drawing multiple arrows instead of his usual one. With a silent apology to the woman who he did honestly consider a friend, he fired an arrow at her, and then numbers more until he didn't have any more arrows to spare. With a sigh, he lowered his weapon. "I'm guessing it'll take a bit, but hurry up and go back to normal, Shaheen. I'd like to fight with you for once."

The attack from the spear nearly broke her, driving her backwards further then any other attack had done, yet still she just came back, whispering about home, about how they needed to leave. The shouting was either ignored or she really just couldn't hear it anymore.

And then the arrows, one after the other, striking her back, her body reverberating with each piercing strike.

If she had been sane, she might have thanked them. This was no way to exist. This was not how she wanted to be.

But instead, she just howled wordlessly, one last time before she crumbled, form dissappearing into the fog once more.

Yuzhi watched the disappearing figure as she let out a small soft gasp of breaths or two as she went back to normal once more her spear dismissed for now until she needed it next. She looked over toward Zhi and drew herself up a bit, "Enough action for you, Grasshopper?" she asked him with a serious expression.

Certainly, this probably wouldn't be the last time this would happen, who knew what else was going to come at them while they stood around.

Instead of grasping his sleeve she just moved a bit closer to him, "When you are ready we can move on," she said quietly.  

[Kaiyumi]

...Man.

Zhi perked up at Yuzhi's voice, turning to look at her in surprise at the question. There was a moment of silence, and then he chuckled, looking both tired and...well, rather normal for once. "Enough for now, yeah," He grinned, staring at the spot where Shaheen had disappeared, "I just hope she won't be so crazy when she reforms again."

He sighed, lifting a hand to wipe the sweat off his brow. Just how many more of those...creatures were there? To say that he wasn't in great shape would have actually been an understatement--the battle with Shaheen had worn him out some, and he was sure it was the same for Yuzhi.

Glancing down at her, he offered her a reassuring pat on the shoulder and a small grin. "Yeah, let's go. And don't worry, we'll take out whatever else comes our way."  

[Pales]

The seriousness of her face lifted a bit and she gave him a small smile even as he patted her shoulder and gave her a grin. She saw that he was tired and truth be told he wasn't feeling all that great as she tried to just keep herself together at least physically - mentally she felt alright for the most part.

At least she felt like she could function.

Yuzhi wished she could share Zhi's confidence in their survival but she could do nothing but scrunch her nose a bit and utter a soft, "We'll see," she reached out and once again her fingertips gripped onto his sleeve and she started to gently tug him forward, "Come along we are sitting ducks."

Honestly, she hoped he wouldn't disappear on her or even better...Wouldn't turn into one of those...things.

He was tired, hurt, and wanted nothing else but to find somewhere safe to rest...but that was not their mission. They were given a task, and they would be expected to see it to the end.

That, and he sincerely doubted that Yuzhi would let him off the hook so easily.

Heaving a heavy sigh, the man nodded. "Alright, let's go. Lead the way, tiny horsewoman."

...Apparently Zhi forgot that he only had 11HP left, and how much damage one of Yuzhi's attacks could do.

She shot him a glare for his comment being a bit too tired to really lift a hand and swat him properly as she walked along leading the way out of the foreboding room with a bit of a sigh herself, "Maybe we'll find something soon."

Maybe.

Or they'll just be alone forever searching for things that did not exist.
