((I'd be perfectly fine with beginning this. If others join along the way, perfect. It would be odd to find all the survivors all at once, anyway.))

The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

The sound of rotor's spinning filled the air of the streets of new york as a lone apache helicopter had taken to the skies flying low between the buildings. The city was a mess. Fires raged out of control, rioters it would seem had destroyed most buildings glass and robbed what they could when the outbreak had began. Overall if looked at now outside of the few land marks that were unmistakable it would be hard to put this destroyed ruins of a city as being New York.

Sighing the pilot looked back to his gunner giving a nod as he continued on his recon route. He still had two or three more passes to see if anything could be still surviving in this city. If so the government had plans to attempt to simply starve these Zombies out once they evacuated all living uninfected survivors. "Make the call" the pilot said to his gunner as he pulled up going into a hover just above times square.

The gunner simply nodded as he pulled up the communications grid to any teams in the area. "This is Warlord 6 calling any elements on this channel. A sweep of the streets currently shows next to nothing...Break.....Buildings still seem to be the hotspot for survivors...Break...Recommending any elements who have not begin clearing the buildings and areas that seem less affected..Break..." Taking a slow breath the gunner shook his head as the gun mounted on the underside of the chopper did the same movement. "Keep yourselves alive down there guys we don't need any more to contend with...Over" he said cutting transmission. "Lets go see what we can find" the man said as the chopper continued on it's movements.

It had been only days now since the military had showed up in large supply at first until the realization that it was doing more harm then good losing as many teams to these creatures. Large squads of them were being wiped out by ambushes from some of the Ghouls that still held there intellect and could plot and plan. Instead smaller groups were now being sent in of there finest to move thru in sections. The chopper in the sky had been making this same run now for about a week changing it's path every few hours to keep a look out for others still alive.

(Just the opening post for the RP.)

There was a feeling of pure panic mounting in Emily's stomach. It wasn't the normal sense of panic, either. The normal types of panic had disappeared days ago, and her body was now home to millions of new sensations and deliberate actions. She was not infected. She was not dead.

But everyone else was.

Crouched low to avoid being seen, the woman bunked on the second floor of a mechanics shop. It wasn't hers, it was much too nice to be hers. All the tools she needed were in front of her, everything to get her gears in running order again, but she found she didn't have the ability to move her arm toward them. Nothing was that wrong, of course. She had mobility, even speed, but she was frightened that the moment she opened up her shoulder case she would find herself surrounded. It was an unfounded fear. The most dangerous thing she could hear from the window was a crackling fire, a remnant of the riots still going strong on an overturned car. New Yorkers really didn't have good common sense, or none of them would be in this mess.

"Oh to hell with it!"

Emily grabbed the metal sander and gears and stuffed them into her backpack (too small, too filled already by her water bottle and jacket) and stood slowly to look out of the window. Nothing moved except the flames on the road, but she couldn't trust it. Daylight was safe because you could see, she knew that, but it was also when they could see you. She wasn't moving until she had clear view of the whole block, and smoke was making that impossible.

And then suddenly there was the sound of a helicopter, the same time as the day before, but in an entirely new area. They were sweeping for survivors, but she couldn't risk dancing about in the street with the copter over-head to show them she was here. She knew what the sound of the spinning blades brought about.

The moaning started, and Emily cursed, zipping her bag shut and getting ready to run.

The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

A shot rang out thru the streets as a soldier with a M4 with a rail mount stood atop a building. Pulling the scope away from his eye Jacob looked down at the zombie he had just killed. Another one of these useless bastards that had gotten the brunt of the infection and turned likely killing there friends after turning. Reaching up and tapping the side of his helmet he looked around. "Beast what's your 6" he questioned into the mic his voice a tad bit gruff as if he hadn't drank water in awhile.

"Current location is just east of the little bakery up a few blocks away from your position" Jeffery "Beast" Torres responded on the headset as he walked down the street. On his hip a desert eagle hung and in his hands currently a custom modified Spaz shotgun was cocked and ready. "There ain't s**t here but zombies Deadeye." the soldier complained as he walked down the middle of the road . A rather built man who by the look of it wasn't even stirred by the zombies that walked the street.

"Alright make sure to check for survivor's tho I just had one I got off the streets and remember rally point eta is 1800 at the drop off point" Jacob said as he looked over towards several windows. "Shadow this is Deadeye how copy" Jacob said putting a foot up on the edge of the building as he looked down at the ground below. Moan's groans and an occasional scream from some unlucky individual filled the air as he waited for a response. "This is Shadow read ya Lima Charlie" a voice filled his hear as he smirked a bit. "How's things looking on your end" Jacob questioned him.

"Same as Beast, Deadeye had a run in with a civilian earlier but they had already been infected had to take the turn and put them down before the virus spread to much and turned them" Glenn "Shadow" Harris told him over the headset. Like the rest of the team he had his own custom load out with a Custom Winchester bull-pup design sniper rifle he had slung over his right shoulder. "I plan to continue pushing outwards from this area 1 kilometer at a time in a circle pattern hoping to find some good news" he told him shaking his head as he stood on the ledge of a twelve story building looking down with a pair of binoculars. "Will relay if I find some golden eggs" he told him chuckling and heading towards the fire escape as he let go of the mic.

"Iceman, Beast and Shadow are still searching no luck so far for survivor's guess were gonna be the one's with the most by time this is over" Jacob called as his last soldier walked up next to him a similar load out as Deadeye but his belt was loaded with explosives and grenade rounds for the 203 that was held under his weapon..

"That isn't very good news then" Joe "Iceman" Hopkins said as he stood there looking over the area. "If this keeps going at this rate this mission for survivor's is pretty much a suicide mission" he told him rubbing the back of his head. "Oh well guess I can't complain I get some much needed target practice." Turning back towards the door he started for it entering it to head downstairs..

"Don't get to far Ice not all of these zombies are as dumb as the rest" Deadeye called as he turned back to look at the streets. Lifting the visor on his helmet he rubbed his left eye a bit. A deep scar mutilated that side of his face the eye itself was still there tho fully whited out. There was no vision that came thru that side a downside to most soldiers but he worked well with these three so it wasn't something that he had to worry about. Flicking the visor back down he turned to follow after Iceman as he closed the door behind him. They needed to head to ground level to pick up some food and supplies which he knew would be a pain in the a**.

In the mostly silent city The Roar of an engine sounded. It was a big one, where ever it was. And then there was the sound of moaning and a loud bang. A gun shot. No. Way too loud to be a regular gun. Sounded bigger. It couldn't have been a tank, since those weren't authorized, but what else could it have been?

In His junkyard Walter smirked and pulled a lever to reload the cannon on his make shift cannon turret. "Ahhh, Another one Bites the bullet." Then he heard moaning and turned the turret to point at another of the shambling dead, fired. There was another boom as the turret fired a 16 pound bowling ball at it, taking its head out in the first shot. "The Whole City must be infected. Typical..." Walter said with a clear disdain. He was getting angry again. As long as they didn't get inside his junk yard he was safe. There were too many hiding places.

It's a short fall, nothing to worry about...

Emily had picked her way onto the roof of the Mechanic's shop, smoke from the car fire rolling about on the street below. There were shapes weaving in and out inside the mess, hungry groans and sounds that could have passed for a language. Emily hoped it wasn't a language, that would mean these things were smart. The way that hoard took out Jose... They might just be... She was already exhausted from the fight to stay alive, she didn't need to worry about these things planning attacks.

She was trying not to be near them at all, anyway. That was why she'd chosen the roof, because the building next door had a fire escape on it's far side, and she could trapeze the roof much more easily than the smoke covered ground below. And if anything was down there, it wasn't getting her up there. She just had a short drop with a two and a half foot jump to the other roof. Nothing big, she'd done more already this week.

Emily Jumped.

She hit the gravel roof hard, and a couple handfuls of the tiny stones found their way off the roof behind her, making sounds on the garbage cans in the alleyway between the old building and the new. Shuffling sounds made their way closer to the new noise, and she had to pick herself off and move quickly, unless she wanted to lose the cover she'd accidentally given herself. With her backpack on her shoulders she had her hands free, except for the winding bar she'd been carrying since the whole thing began. She had Jose's gun, now, but she didn't want to waste bullets or draw things toward her with sound. She didn't have a silencer.

Other than the obvious fatigue she looked like she always did. T-shirt, jeans, work boots (Though they were grimy compared to the first day) She'd been lucky enough to keep finding running tap water, and a bottle of iodine to make sure it was safe to drink. But the iodine had run out, and she was on her last re-fill. She had to keep moving. The Copter always circled around, and she figured as long as there was a copter there was a chance of ground squads. What she wouldn't give to find one.

Emily took the ladder down from the roof, keeping her eyes on the ground, and snuck out from the wide alley with her winding rod held in her hands like a baseball bat. She'd learned that she had a pretty mean swing. should have taken up baseball.

The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

"Hey Deadeye I got sounds coming from the east I am gonna go check it out" Beast said as he started towards the Junkyard. Several rounds echoed thru the nearly silent streets as the man cut a bloody swath thru the streets towards where he had heard the sound from. As usual Beast was living up to his name as he killed the infected either by shot gun hole or from a skull caved in by a brass knuckle lined fist thrown by him. He didn't care much as long as there was plenty to kill he would be happy. No rules and no need to stealth in a place like this was just what Jeffery enjoyed.

"Copy that" Deadeye said lifting his rifle up and looking thru the scope again. The sound of the chopper buzzing filled the air again as the apache flew down thru the streets again on it's recon mission. What it could spot was limited from the air as accurate visual's from the building were all but impossible for it to make. That was where Jacob and his team came into play. Sweep the spots they couldn't see form the air and pick out the stranglers. Today was just like any of the other days where they moved in a section thru the city covering ground deeper and deeper in until they were positive they had found everyone that was alive.

The shine of a scope was the only definite placement that Shadow was sitting in the top of a building overlooking the city below. As was the case he had found the best vantage point that would give him the most visual coverage of the area. He had found a few survivors thru his scope but had killed them when he had seen bite marks on there bodies. His consideration was as there was no cure better to kill them off when a single round thru the head would do the most damage. He took a bit of sadistic joy in it tho he wasn't one to tell the others about it. Acting like he was god in a way deciding who was fit to live and who was fit to die from his perch in the heavens. This is where he would be placed for hours on a time scanning the cities roofs and windows slowly.

A movement in the scope caught his eye tho as he panned his rifle over to see a blond woman ontop of a roof moving across it. "Well well now" he muttered zooming in some to look her over as she moved. He was looking for any sign she had been bitten. His finger rested on the trigger waiting to find that one hint towards it to fire. A few moment's of looking tho passed and nothing was found much to the snipers dismay. "Got one" he muttered a small grin coming over his face as he exhaled before pulling the trigger. It took a few moments for the bullet to hit it's target but the upper portion of the zombie that was about 15 feet infront of the girl seemed to implode on itself as the body fell to the ground in a heap. For now he would be the girl's guardian angel rather then her angel of death. That role may come later if he was lucky.

Walter Pulled the reload lever again and then turned to aim at another of the shamblers. Though this one was different it seemed to be speaking in a language of some kind. Walter fired a bowling ball at it and took its head off. "I hate the smart ones. That's the third one today...It's going be a punching bag kind of night tonight..." Walter was definitely in a bad mood now.

He seemed to just get angry when he saw the dead walking about. As many as he'd killed it meant the whole city had to of gone up.

ι αм α ѕυяνινσя

Emily pressed herself up against a wall, a shop-front on the street, and tried to catch her breath. The only things she'd encountered since losing Jose were slow, lumbering, and few enough that she could manage them alone. Now with the appearance of a new horde, the one she'd just slipped past unnoticed, she renewed her prayers to find a ground crew to get her the Hell out of Dodge.

And then a Mother-F**king Zombie imploded fifteen feet away from her.

"Jesus Christ!" Emily raised her weapon into a defensive posture, despite the fact that she had no idea, at the moment, what had caused the thing to implode and fall down dead. She couldn't see the rooftops well enough, nor was she wasting any time trying to play hide-and-seek with Mr.Mission from God or whoever had deemed her worthy of their (Very effective) ammunition. "Right... Moving on..."

She made an awkward wave in the air, figuring some sort of thank you or acknowledgement was in order, and made her next run. Flying down the now empty street toward the bank on the corner. From there she'd be able to see down the next three blocks, especially if their fire-escape was operational, and that was exactly the sort of vantage she needed. Emily crossed the street without an issue, but there wasn't much in the way of a ladder to get up to the escape like she'd hoped. And even if she used the next building over, it was too much of a jump to reach the bank and gain the height she needed.

She rubbed her left arm, where metal met flesh, and tried to rationalize a way up to the metal walkway.

The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

"Guess your thanking your god now" Shadow laughed keeping his eye trained on the girl moving. He had caught her wave an acknowledgement that she was at least thankful for his divine intervention and started to run again. During her movement the same thing that happened to any of the zombies that even looked in her direction on the street continued to happen as a slew of corpses followed behind her. "Where is your god now" he laughed a wicked grin forming but was cut off as he looked at her no longer moving anywhere along the street. He couldn't see where the girl was looking his visual slightly cut off by a building on the other side of the street. "Tch guess that's it for me" he muttered reaching up to his headset but a voice over it cut him off before he got a chance to press it.

A series of explosion lit up the street from the direction that Emily had just come from as several of the cars that were on fire before were turned into debris along with anything close enough to be caught up in the blast. "Ahahaha love the smell of dead roasted bacon for breakfast" Iceman called out as he loaded another HE round into his 203 attachment. Like Beast this man was not one for silence but unlike anyone on the squad he was at times bat s**t insane when it came to explosive ordinance and living by the no such thing as overkill motto.

Firing another round the grenade hit the side of the building on the opposite side of the street sending more now cooked corpses to strewn the street. Tho this was not exactly what Deadeye would have wanted Ice figured it was the best way to draw out both Zombies and Survivors to see what was going on. "Now then who's still hungry" he yelled with a smirk as he popped the empty round out of the launcher letting it hit the floor underneath him.

That last bowling ball that was fired came rolling past Beast into the side of a building as the gargantuan lifted his shotgun up towards the direction he was moving. Loading a single slug round into the first shot he moved towards the entrance. "Friendly coming in" he called out as he turned the corner entering the Junkyard and starting to look around. Piles of zombies lay about the yard giving him a good figuring that someone was still alive in this area and he would get the first save of the day which brought a smile and the thought of free beer to his mind.

"Welcome. Pick yourself out a spot and stick to it." Then he reached into the cooler built into the side of his wheelchair and pulled something out, "Heads up!" And Walter Threw a can of beer to the guy. "Figured you'd need something after making it all the way here soldier. You're the first soldier I've seen today that I haven't needed to give a taste of firepower." Then He pulled the reload lever again and chambered the next ball.

"How long you been deployed?" And then he fired the ball with a boom, taking out a pair of talkers that were standing close together. "I don't like this. I'm seeing more talkers than shamblers."
