"Don't worry Benny We'll help her take car of her little one."

Big Benny sighed, "Little is the wrong word."

The Little Girl turned around and called out, "Buttonnnnns!!!!"

There were few short tremors before the building itself shook. Then it shook again and the lights flickered. Then a brick wall collapsed as the hatchling pushed his way inside.

He was enormous. At the very least 8ft long and 3ft tall. He has six legs and a parrot like beak. The girl ran over to the leviathan of a hatchling and said, "Buttons, How many times we gotta tell you to use the door." And then she hugged his head as he snuggled to her.

Marcus' eyes widened imperceptibly at the entrance of the large wyrmling, his mind automatically gauging the distance between his seat and the door and how fast he'd be able to get out if it attacked. He mentally berated himself after a moment for his reaction, but still edged a little closer to the edge of his seat.

Eric looked up and felt his left eyebrow begin to twitch at all the grey on the creature that had just broken down one of the walls to get in. It wasn't that Eric didn't like the color, it was just that it only went well - in his opinion - with other neutral colors. A nice woody brown would compliment it nicely, but red and orange just didn't work well with it. At least, he thought, there wasn't any visible purple. That would be hideous with anything.

"Alright, Every one please show me Your junkyrms. And that's an Order." He looked at Walter's Little Knight and saw that he was made of parts of multi-tools, guns, and a laser pointer. "Frankie, You're son doesn't need my help. Your father's collection has more than enough selection to help the little one grow." Then he looked at Marcus, "Bring it out."

Marcus nodded and unzipped his gym bag, poking at Jericho to wake him up and chuckling as the little wyrmling wound himself up Marcus' arm and onto his shoulder.

Eric turned to look at the very large Armstrong look-alike and extended his arm for Gomorrah to use as support, since she was very close to overbalancing off his neck in her efforts to get closer to the large wyrmling and small girl.

Vicky spoke up, "Marcus, Before you go home Mr. Benjamin and I have something to talk to you about. Don't think I haven't noticed your paranoid behavior at home."

Then Benny looked at Vicky and nodded. "That'll Be 4 orders of umbrellas for Young Eric, 4 orders of My 'Prototype Mach' Skates and 1 order of 'My Finest' tools sets for Young Marcus, and 1 order of Tricycles for my little Wendy. I'll Have the shipment Delivered in the next few hours. And We will have that Talk Marcus."

Then Benny walked out the door. When he came back in he walked over to marcus first and handed him a pair of skates. These weren't just any skates. These were the most advanced skates ever made. "They're not even on the market yet. Still In testing. Take them, For The little one." Then he smiled, "They have a system of brakes and internal mechanisms that make the wheels slow their rotation when the wearer tries to slow down. They also have a speed tracking system that keeps record of fastest speeds, and even how many G-forces the wearers put themselves through. The part that's still in testing is the G-force counter."

Then he turned to Eric and offered a red and yellow parasol to him. "This Parsol is one of our top sellers. The fabric glows it's present colors in the dark, and the handle has a flashlight built in. Also Has floral scented air freshener built into the shaft of the frame. The air freshener can be ejected for replacement by unscrewing the handle."

Marcus' lips thinned as he contemplated the decidedly-unpleasant possibility of having to discuss the very thing he'd moved to this town to avoid. A few minutes later, he pushed the thoughts from his head as Ben walked back in with a pair of skates and an umbrella. "Thanks very much, but I don't know that I could rightly accept such a... well, never mind then."

Jericho had leaped down from Marcus' shoulder the moment the skates were held out and immediately landed on them, their parts incorporating themselves into Jericho's body. His mass nearly doubled, as he used the entirety of both skates in his body this time as opposed to his birth when he'd only used the wheels. The wiring for the speed system and the system itself was distributed as a kind of mesh-skin across his body, which grew by at least three quarters its old size as the wheels and plastic were incorporated as armor underneath the mesh. "Well he certainly cleans up well."

Eric didn't have time to raise an objection to the "glow-in-the-dark" part of the parasol before Gomorrah imitated Jericho and coiled around the parasol. Unlike Jericho, however, when the process of the assimilation had been fully visible, all that happened with Gomorrah was a moment of confusion as her anatomy rearranged itself around the parts and her stripes acquired a slightly oily sheen as the scent-oil was worked into her body. She ended several feet longer, perhaps a quarter inch thicker, with the plastic and glass from the flashlight having been twisted and rearranged to form a wicked-looking glass blade at the tip of her tail. She smelled, after the process finished, faintly of flowers.

There was the sound of a rumbling engine outside and then of the brakes letting off some presure. "Ah. Right on time. It'll take a couple hours to unpack it all, but it'll be worth it," Benny said. Then he pushed open the door to reveal a caravan of 5 trailer trucks. The closest on was already unloading, and it was unloading crates as big as Buttons himself. Benny walked over to a Crate and pried it open; lifting out 8 tricycles, two at a time. "Come and Get it Buttons!"

Buttons went over to the 8 tricycles and incorporated them immediately. The frames of the tricycles were shattered and the pieces of steel framing used to improve his heavy skeleton and to provide armor. The rear wheels and rear axles were taken apart and used to improve the joints throughout his body, the handle bars reinforcing his torso, and the front wheels and their associated axles and pedals were used to improve and lengthen his tail. The metal seat pans were added to his back and the top of his tail as armored plates. Overall, He grew half again as long as he was before and doubled his height, and more than tripled his weight has he became even bulkier and more heavily constructed.

Wendy watched as Buttons grew and held onto her teddy bear while clapping and cheering Buttons on.

And the scary part was, there were still seven of those crates of the truck.

Lenore had entered silently, standing near the back. Her mother had already gone over the protocol's, so Lenny didn't miss much new information. She crossed her arms, her dull eyes glancing over everyone's junkyryms. Marcus's and Eric's were not new to her, since she lived with them, but Walter's and the little girl's were intriguing to look at. She glanced down at Argyle, who kept himself low to the ground and scanned the area. She gave a soft sigh, motioning Argyle permission to check out the others. He quietly sauntered forward, his segmented body slithering to and fro until he neared the rest of them. He was longer than he was a couple days ago, Vicky having supplied him with some parts of her own, but was nothing near to the massive behemoth Buttons and DoppelGanger. Curious, he took pictures of them both with his ever moving lenses.

Lenore moved forward silently as well, her presence dripping with dismal forthcomings. "If some of our junkyrym's are to be as large as these, how would it be possible to hide them from public view? Surely, some are bound to notice. And another thing: if our junkyrym's are so great, why do we need to be their guardians? If they deem to be superior beings, who are we, mere humans, to dictate their actions?" Lenore's voice was cold, an odd, husky voice as if coming from a person who spoke only rarely.
Her mother explained many things surely, but now that she had Argyle, her mother failed to explain many questions and loose ends.

Marcus looked from the truck to Buttons, working out in his head how large Jericho and Gomorrah might grow if they each received similar gifts. It was... unsettling, to say the least. The little wyrmling was nice now, but he would be a handful at his current four feet in length. Thirty or more would be absolutely impossible to manage. Eric, he reflected, really got the better deal. At least Gomorrah was going to stay thin enough to fit through doorways after this unexpected gift.

Eric raised an eyebrow as he assessed the total area of Buttons' body that was now that sporty shade of red, ballparking a silent self-estimate of how little of that hideous grey would be left once he was done incorporating eight crates of the things into his body.

Both of them turned their attentions towards Argyle and Lenore when they came in. The girl was a year older than Eric and a few months older than Marcus, and they hadn't interacted much in the past. Marcus was courteous to her when they ran into each other in the house, though he wasn't usually in the house for long while awake since he spent his days working and exercising in the forest. Eric disliked her fashion sense and hair, but since that was how he felt about most of the town he didn't really treat her any better or worse than he did anyone else. He'd asked her advice on female fashions before and gotten mixed results. Both of them were curious as to why she had arrived later than they had, but neither would ask her.

"Because young lady...They NEED our protection. You may have grown up around Doppelganger, but you know next to nothing about Junkyrms. The reason is that you think you already know it all. These are all just hatchlings, Infants, not even toddlers yet. They are just new borns. There is a man of unimaginable power that seeks the destruction of humanity and all who support them. Junkyrms are included in that grouping. And incase you haven't realized, They grant their human protectors powers that the hatchlings themselves cannot wield. Each hatchling provides one of six abilities. Can you care to guess what they are?" Frankie explained.

Eric and Marcus waited, sure that Frankie would explain regardless of what they did or didn't say. Eric checked his watch, noting that his shift at the hair salon would start in half an hour and thinking absently that he oughtn't've gone to this meeting if it was going to make him late for work.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 17, 2012 8:54 pm
Lenore rolled her eyes. Frankie always tended to be strict with her, like her mother was, and had grown all too used to her 'aunt'.
"I've noticed it this morning, which was why I was late. It seems my senses have enhanced tremendously to the point where everything is just giving me a headache," she replied in an annoyed tone. She pinched the bridge of her nose and pointed at Eric. "Like him. I can smell him even though I'm standing right here. He reeks of perfume," she stated with slight disgust. Even if Eric had only put a little scent on himself, Lenore could smell it. Her eye sight was swell as well, as was her hearing. But other than that, Lenore didn't feel anything different. She glanced to Eric, meaning nothing by it. She knew the feminine boy well, noting that he probably disliked her as much as she to him: with indifference.

Lenore turned to Frankie, feeling a little sour. So Argyle needed protection from some man...It seemed like something out of a sci fi movie. She scratched her head, unamused with being confronted. Argyle merely watched Lenore and her emotions, recording her voice with his tape recorder before replaying it loudly, repeating what she just said moments before.

Eric glanced over at Lenore, not surprised that she had smelled his perfume. It seemed like he had needed a lot more than usual to get the tiniest scent, and even then half a bottle had left an incredibly weak scent that Eric could barely detect even knowing it was there.

((Probably best to mention this: According to Wire, Eric's "Ultimate Stealth" includes the permanent loss of all scent and the innate and permanent (cannot be toggled) ability to make no sound while moving, regardless of your action. Plus perfect visual camouflage.))

( Ah, I didn't know that. How about we just say she smelled Eric's perfume on Marcus then? )

"One Hatchling Bestows extremely enhanced senses that include sense of smell rivaling a great white sharks when under water, and rivaling a turkey vultures when on land, Eye sight that in the dark is so good you could see in perfect detail and in color as if it were high noon. Hearing is magnified to an insane degree, and in addition, three incredible senses that humans normally don't have. Yould notice that with your eyes closed while awake you can still see something. that's two of the senses at work. Your eye lids have heat sensing pitts in them now, making you able to see heat like a rattle snake can. The other sense is one that sharks and rays have, the ability to sense electricity down to a billionth of a volt. When your eyes are closed you can still see infrared and the pulses of electricity givin off by all organic animals around you. The third power is in your feet, and it allows you to sense vibrations in the ground from miles away. Your mother has all of those."

Then Frankie sighed, "There is a Hatchling that grants unearthly strength and stamina, which in a human body equates to literally unlimitted physical strength and stamina, making the human invulnerable to harm while making them impossibly strong." And she glared right at walter as she said this. He felt her stare and realized what it meant. He had that power.

"There is one that grants fire control, as in total fire control. In the body of a human that's the power to take a single ember and make a state wide inferno a thousand feet high. With a couple decades of practice a much larger area could be created. Benny Had that power. And so does his daughter."

Then she looked at Marcus. "One hatchling grants enhanced reflexes and unearthly speed. What this amounts to in a human body is the ability to start moving and instantly go 1000 miles per hour without needing to accelerate and reflexes 10 times faster than those of a normal human. However, such speed is not sustainable for more than a minute or two without the stamina required. And any collision with something stronger than you will absolutely kill you."

Then she looked at eric. "One hatchling grants the power to instant to instant blend with ones surroundings and so become invisible in that way, all the while the body's movements because supernaturally silenced and your scent becomes permanetnly masked. Not even the most potent of perfumes or most noxious of gunk will give your body a scent again. And if you sit still, you will become literally part of your environment."

"And lastly one hatchling will grant the ability to fly without wings and without using energy. While in flight, One can travel through space without dying."
