[1v1] Hands In New Places (Yin/Xiu)

"Are you alright?" He asked, somewhat worried. He was stalling, holding back, and he could feel it. But...he could not just do that. He had to fight. Had to be stronger. Had to give her his all.

He barely gave her time to adjust to being back on her feet when he burst into action again, pulling away her arm to drive a fist into her already injured stomach, actually closing his eyes as the blow landed, unable to look at what he was doing.

This wasn't good. The second blow had her crumpling to the ground, her arms reflectively wrapping around her stomach as she squeezed her eyes shut at the pain. Gasping for breath, she gave a little nod at Yin's question, trying to reassure him that it was okay and she was fine. This was a fight, and it wouldn't do for either of them to hold back, after all.

It took a little effort to force herself back up, but when she was back up on her feet, she moved fast. Fighting against the pain from her abdomen, she swung her fist around and at the boil, throwing her body into the attack.

He felt atrocious for what he had done, and she retaliated in the only way that could possibly make him feel better. There was true strength in her punch, surprising almost for a ghoul of her small stature, but she was fast and light on her feet and he had no chance to dodge.

He retaliated quickly, trying to move off to her side to get past her defenses, aiming a quick jab to her upper arm again in the process.

Just as Yin had intended, the baku hadn't seen his attack coming, the jab to her arm catching her unaware, causing her FEAR shield to suddenly flicker. Flinching, she immediately reached out with her other hand, trying to catch his wrist before he could move away and giving a sharp tug, swinging her knee up and into his stomach.

And then she winced, her ears drooping ever so slightly.

At least the baku had not hit him like he had kneed Mot, which had been a bit lower than the abdomen.

He started to throw a punch, saw her ears droop, and his fist aborted its mission, sinking down to his side.

She saw him falter, her brows knitting together in confusion as she tilted her head at him. Why was he...? Reaching out, she delivered a light slap to his arm, as if trying to snap him out of it.

"This is...a spar between friends...remember?" Xiu managed to get the words out between breathes, the corners of her lips turning upwards in a small smile, "So please, don't hesitate...and come at me seriously..."

Her FEAR shield was already precariously weak, and she knew that it would only take one more good hit to shatter it. Still, she wasn't willing to give up quite yet. She couldn't move as quickly as she usually did with her aching body, but she would try to get at least one last hit in.

The slap brought him back a bit, but despite her words, he truly did not want to hurt her. There had to be another way to be stronger. If this was Red? He would not falter. But this was Miss Xiu-Ying.

"Exactly, it is a spar between friends,"" he said softly, not really making a move to attack.

"And we will still be friends regardless of who wins. I can promise you that much at least, Yin Cang."

She smiled at him, but gave a little shake of her head. Honestly, she didn't want to hit him either--especially not when he was hesitating out of concern for her--but what if something were to happen in the future? What if there was a time that came where they had to attack one another? When the boil had been overcome by insanity, Xiu had found herself unable to attack him and went after his insane companion instead, but...

"Don't hold back, because I won't either." If a light slap wouldn't snap him out of it and urge him to strike back, then perhaps another punch would.

If she was going to insist...and back it up with a powerful punch, maybe she was not so injured as he had thought. He spun, bringing up a kick to land on her already injured abdomen.

Hopefully that had not hurt too much.

The last hit broke her FEAR shield, and as the baku stumbled backwards, she knew for a fact that that punch was going to bruise. If Yin were to ask her later, she would assure him that the strike had not hurt too much, but it was hard to argue against the fact that the ghoul was currently whimpering in pain, her vision flickering and fading. Still, she somehow managed to get out a pained--but still relatively cheerful--"good job" for her friend.

And then, as she collapsed onto the gymnasium ground, everything suddenly went black.

...oops.

"M-Miss Xiu-Ying?" No, this was not supposed to...he had not meant to...

He stooped down next to her, thinking about what he had learned from her. Maybe he could use the first aid he had learned...He tried to concentrate and though he was weakened his Fear rushed up. It frightened him, not sure why it was responding like that and in his moment of indecisiveness it faded away before he could help her.

Undeterred he reached down to scoop her up, forcing himself to his feet with her in his arms like the princess she was as he started toward his mother's office. "I am sorry," he murmured to her unconscious form. "Everything is going to be alright."
