How far do you have to travel to be in an area that snows?
That's so cute. I never really thought what it would mean to
a child to play in snow.

Umm.. I think maybe four hours? It doesn't sound too bad I suppose, but we really don't have money for gas and the car we drive is definitely not up to that kind of trip. xD Plus we don't know anyone in the city we know for sure it'll snow in every year, so we'd have to stay in a hotel or just be there for the day, then it'll go into "is it really worth it" to just be there for one day and it's just one big confusing trip to plan. XD Though maybe one day, my son is still very young, we have plenty of time to plan for that kind of thing. c:

Yokies Umm.. I think maybe four hours? I know exactly where you're coming from. I don't think I could make such a mission
just for a few hours of possible snow. It would be a lot more rewarding for it to snow
in your actual town. To wake up and look out the window and see everything covered
in snow and to build snow men, make snow angels and have a snow ball fight.
I'd love to go to Austria on holiday. I've got skiing before, but I'd love to try
out snowboarding there.

I would honestly trade you in a heartbeat haha. It's been getting down to -20c here and I have to take transit; it doesn't make me a very happy camper!

I could honestly hibernate for months happily. I'd probably get super fat though.
For me, I love tea and biscuits so much more when it's cold. Also, our body needs
to extra energy in food to keep us warm.

Yeah. It's just so much nicer to walk outside and there be some snow you can play around in. Don't have to worry about forgetting a camera, you can just run in and get it, or about buying food since you'll be at home and not in another city haha. You can be in the privacy of your own backyard or right out in front of your place if you don't have one. It's just better than having to go hours away. xD Plus it just feels more "special" in a way not to plan that kind of thing, for it to just happen.
I've never been out of state before, I can't imagine going someone so far haha. Though it sounds like it'd be pretty exciting. I don't know how to ski or snowboard. O: I feel like I'd be too much of a chicken to try them out haha.

I agree with you there! I think that once I'm done studying, I'll move somewhere
else that's rather cold. I'm thinking maybe London or even New Zealand.
I'm really not a heat kinda person and I hate the beach, so I don't fit in this
town at all.

Moving is a strong option for a lot of South Africans. Our country is going down
hill and we all want to move before it's too late, you know? Between our horrid

Heat is bad enough, failing education and a bad government just makes it like 100 times worse.

I used to love the water. I was a good swimmer, but then I had to get contact
lenses and made everything a lot more challenging. It's just not fun anyway,
you know?
Apparently South Africa has one of the lowest math and science standard.

I can imagine how sucky that is. I wear glasses, so you can guess another reason why I don't like going out in the water. xD
Also I can't even swim anyway, I just kind of lay there on some floaties haha.
Oh that's no good. D: Math and Science can be difficult enough for some kids.
They're never going to try harder if the standard isn't even at an acceptable level.
