Senga would receive a bored look.
"Since when does War have anything to do at all, colt?" said Mengyao airily, and then smirked. "You're still young, and surprisingly you still interest me, but at the same time I tire of your inability to be particularly elegant in your thoughts."
Something was nagging at his consciousness; something other than the voices he consistently heard in his head, the ones that wavered in and out, fizzling, whispering at the corners of his thoughts. It was this, perhaps, that was the reason behind his odd desire to fight, to prove himself. Mengyao brushed it off, but the feeling of discontent remained.
He scowled at the spider ghoul, lifting his chin.
"Tsk," he said. "You lot are all the same. Overconfident and incapable."
Lifting the bow, he settled the next arrow in place, but there was a screech somewhere behind his head, and something sliced into his shoulders, feathers fluttering down to the dusty floor. Angrily, Mengyao spun around, the bird creature hovering above his head.
"Learn your place, student."

Senga watched Vanya like a wolf set on its prey. He seemed nearly bored by their exchange, waiting for something to happen that would excuse Vanya from the classification as just another student to deal with. He'd been in enough spars with others of his clan to know the advantage and danger of having wings and claws. His own stretched mildly before curling in, his nails wrapped tight around the hilt of the dagger. There was nothing much bewildering about this fight apart from the place in which it had occurred. It was like one big sparring group come together, only he'd never signed on, and still wasn't sure he wanted to.
"I encourage you to try your best." He straightened up, extending his arms to either side with a baleful grin. "Though save your petty words. You should know, we of War only value the strength of ones actions, not the severity of ones words." He moved away from her claws, feeling them scratch at his collarbone before he lifted himself into the air again, one foot colliding with Vanya's shoulder and using it as leverage to get himself behind the girl again. His lips curled at the sound of Mengyao's voice, even as he twirled the katara and lunged at Vanya again.
"I am not a colt." He replied coldly, glaring from his position at Mengyao. "Surprisingly? Should I be grateful that I still hold your elegances attention?" His wings shuddered, and he glanced at Mengyao, as if rising to some unseen challenge. "Ha. I'll do well to remember that. Perhaps I'll even practice the delicate ways in which you Conquest Nobles prefer to speak with one another, should I ever be interested in your company again."
His attention turned just as quickly back to Vanya. The harpy had instilled some sense of challenge in him. If she was going to try and win this game, then he supposed he should as well.

"Coward?"
Like it or not, the word had struck a chord in Mengyao. The smirk slowly slid from his face, which was replaced by an impassive expression at first. He felt jittery, on edge, and the irritation from earlier welled up inside of him, coursing through his veins like fire.
Lifen's face flashed in front of his eyes, blinking in and out, and the surge of whispers grew inside of his head like the swell of the ocean, pressing against his skull from inside, reverberating throughout his thoughts. A buzzing sound rang in his ears, Mengyao pivoting slowly on his feet to look back at the spider ghoul.
"I am not," he said quietly. "A coward."
Three separate arrows flew towards the students, though Mengyao had not been paying attention to where they were aimed.

Vanya couldn't help but feel a little of the horseman's anger at being called a coward. She knew how much that would've stung his pride and had he not been acting like a total moron, she might have defended him. He was being quite... uncowardly attacking a group of students he didn't know anything about. Or perhaps it was just stupidity and she was being too kind. Yeah, that was most likely. It appeared something was up; for someone to boast so much she didn't expect them to have such a terrible shot. The arrow skimmed past her, a feet away and bedded itself into the wall behind her. She wasn't complaining, of course. Better the wall than her.
"Funny. I thought horseman were a lot better than that," she called out, holding her arms up in the air and quite a ways apart. "Miss me by thiiiiiiis much."
Whomp. That certainly hadn't missed her. Down she went, shrieking and kicking at whatever she could get her hands on. The horseman had taken her by surprise or she'd distracted herself. What was it she said earlier about paying attention? She didn't remember either, apparently. But the pain of his body crashing into hers was enough to tick her off. A loud shriek erupted from her throat and she thrashed about underneath the horseman. Sadly, it was a waste; he had her pinned and there wasn't much she could do but defend and wait for an opportunity to much him in his pretentious face.
