"My King we are being pursued!" Stark shouted to Lucian.
"I know, keep riding. His spear will not break my skin...." Lucian stated a scales covered his back and arms under his armor for a second before fading away. As they rode Lucian planned. A few seconds later an ax made of ice formed in his hand. He flung it at Lawrence knowing in would miss. But when it did the ax changed directions now following the traitor to the north. Lucian's power was limited in this land. He was making ice using the moisture in the air and that was in low supply here. He was personally surprised he had even made the ax. "Stark put your shield on your back it should stop his spear if it is thrown at you!" Lucian shouted the order he would soon regret. Stark began adjusting his shield but accidentally released his horses reigns. Within a few seconds the horse reared up and Stark fell to the ground. The knight stood without hesitation and drew his blade.
"My King, continue to the castle, I will hold him here!" Stark lied as he prepared. Lawrence was only getting closer His plan was to cut off the legs of the horse. He knew stopping them was a feat greater then he could accomplish but he would slow them down.

Lawrence saw as Lucian made his way leaving Stark in his path. "If i cant get him i'll just get you." He shouted standing on the horse and lunging at stark. The horse way pushed back. Rearing the horse turned back running back to The south. Smart horse. He pulled a sword from what seemed to be from nowhere. He smirked. It had been a while since his encounter with stark. The last they would have however determined. "Infundere ad tenebras." He whispered into his sword. The sword seemed to have transform entwining with darkness, letting off a slight gleam in the light. He laughed then signed. Taking up a ready stance. His sword was pointing behind him, feet shoulder length apart, slow and steady breaths.

Lawrence's horse passed him and he saw them in the distance. He pushed the horse harder knowing that Lucian was not far if Lawrence was in a fight. He pushed passed them. But time seemed to slow as he did. He looked at Lawrence and nodded. As if knowing something would happened. As he passed time seemed to return going further and further away from his friends. "Good luck." He mumbled pushing and pushing the horse to go faster.

Lawrence watched as his king grew further and further away. And as he did a smile grew on Lawrence's face. His hair waved through the wind for a second. He knew the battle would start soon. And he was ready.

Lucian rode onward. Severide gaining ground did not scare him. He only needed to reach the castle. If he did not fight at that point he would not be arrested. If Severide killed citizens trying to reach Lucian, he would be proclaiming war on the North and Ash Lands. With the palace coming closer into view Lucian knew his struggle was almost over. Then he would be able to return to his home with an answer.

Stark held his sword in a ready position. He was a master of a skill based fighting style, it relied on speed and accuracy not brute strength. Lucian had taught him. Sadly in the last month training had been lighter then most times. He took the first strike. He swung his sword at Lawrence's neck using such a fluid motion it seemed as if he hadn't done it at all. Sadly Stark did not have the advantage of magic or mutation. He was born a Southerner. It was almost as if he and Lawrence had switched places.

Lawrence blocked the attack staggering back a slight step before returning a swing of his own. He aimed low and was agile to say in the least. The attacks went back and forth. Each aiming for the vital spots, Each blocking with a good defense. Until one of Starks attack cut Lawrence on his arm. "Oh you'll pay for that." He shouted feeling the blood. The darkness of his sword seems to grew darker with each attack.

Severide was gaining and fast. He knew the stakes of being in the Ash Land. And being on official business he was 'entitled' at least to see the current queen. Even if that mongrel Lucian was there. And he was being tamed. The palace was in sight. And something was going on. A party of some sort. With Lucian ahead he needed to be faster. He need to beat him to you queen. Funny how even tho he predicted this he was any closer to his perfect war.

Lucian continued to ride slowly building up his power. Once he was prepared he used the one thing a Southerner would not know how to ride a horse through. The ground around them froze over. It would not last long in Ash Land weather but it would hurt Severide's horse or cause them to fall, or even better stop them all together.

Stark continued to fight swinging his blade with instant and pin point strikes. Once Stark cut Lawrence he got an idea. Stark swung his leg downwards spinning full circle and attempting to sweep Lawrence's legs from under him. He ran his blade along the ash floor and brought it down on Lawrence when the motion was completed. Now his damage dealt out would infect.

Kaia Ulrin
User ImageIt had been a long summer evening in her home town of the Ash Lands and Kaia did not like it one bit. She was fit for the cold and found it hard to believe that she had once lived and thrived here not long ago. She had only arrived yesterday and already she found herself wanting to leave for this place only brought back memories of her mothers death; but they were memories she also did not want to forget.

Not far in the distance there was a ruckus. Horses hooves hitting the ground in a beautiful but rushed manner and clicks and clangs of fighting in the near distance. Horses came not a moment later and had caused Kaia to lie low to the ground, though her white hair did no good at masking her from the men that were coming her way. Still, they rode past without even a turn of their head towards her but she had seen them plain as day and she recognized one of them; The King of The North. The other she knew but had never seen before.

She did not know what could have possibly brought the King of The North to the Ash Lands let alone both, and Kaia was not fond of the other. What importance could bring them both here with fighting men and in such haste towards the Queen? It could not have been good but It was not in her tale to interfere; and even if she were to she would most likely end up dead and forgotten and she didn't want that.

Having obtained the wanted lead Lucian dismounted his horse and continued on foot. Lucian ran past Kaia and then slowed down. He was going to try and blend in at this point. He turned a corner and undid the joints holding his armor on. It fell off leaving his white silk shirt, his pants and his boots on him. He kept his sword and ax with him but had tied up his horse at the nearest tavern.
Lucian's mind was trapped thinking about how he simply left Stark to fight as he ran. Now pacing on the streets Lucian was planning how to get a proper audience with the queen.

Severide was falling behind. That damn ice was getting in his way. No matter. Even if Lucian got to the palace Lady Fortuna wouldn't decide right then and there if her kingdom was helping or not. And that gave him a little time. His horse slowed to a stop Severide looked around. Having lost complete sight of Lucian. He snarled and hitched his horse to a post. He looked around and thought he saw something. Something that his kingdom hated above all. Mutants. He sighed rubbing his temples. He had never been in a crowd of mutants this big nor did he want to stay long. He walked up to a young lady with the same eyes as Lawrence but with leopard prints on her skin.
"Excuse me miss, i was wondering if you have seen the dragon of the north wondering around here lately?" He asked. His voice was stern not wanting to waste any time.

Lawrence was pinned. Now way out. or at least thats what he thought. He dropped his blade. Having released the darkness that was held over the sword. He was hurting and hurting bad. He was never able to connect his attacks well. And frankly he was never a solider to begin with. So it was kind of understandable.
"Being as honorable as your northerns are, I submit." He said raising his hand above his head. He had something in mind. Something sneaky. something that might make Severide proud to say in the least.

Kaia's heart pounded hard in her chest when Lucian hopped off his horse and walked just past her, but she was smart enough to stay quiet. She was an observer, quiet and swift and prowling. Her curiosity had gotten to her, and though the other man was not far off, she made way towards the Northern King just as he rounded the corner. She would only spy, and as graceful and quiet as she was, she doubted he would notice.

She kept close to the stony walls, but blended into the crowd as if she were a simple party goer herself. She was just about to sink off into a different path, near where The king would be..where she could keep her curious eye on him when red eyes filled her vision. It was the other king. "The Dragon of the North, you say?" She answered quickly, knowing you should never keep the royals waiting; especially in their haste. "I've seen many a people on this day." She was refering to the ongoing crowd of people. "But the Dragon of The North, I cannot recall." She was lying, of course. She'd only just seen him round the corner, sauntering in the shadows, but what would she get out of it if she told.

Lucian had contiued walking but stopped upon noticing that Severide was asking about him. He would not risk letting the girl get hurt should Severide not enjoy the form of her answer. Lucian turned another corner and blew into the air slightly sending a chill The Southern King's way. It should have been enough to draw Severide from the girl. Once he did that Lucian hid. Everything would be useless if he was caught now.

Stark smiled slightly. "You have caused me and my King trouble. Had this moment come and we were in combat you would be dead. I am to far from the Kingdom to take you back in his absence but he is to far for me simply to take you to him. I can not trust you nor can I kill you on Ash Land territory without involving them in the war. To involve them my King plans to speak with their Queen, he would not take well to be breaking any peace we have." Stark lowered his sword. "Return to the South, call it mercy." Stark didn't want to admit but he could not legally preform an arrest or kill the man in this land without the queens permission. Lawrence had shown no skill in combat and would easily be put down again so Stark didn't see the threat Lucian would have. Then he turned and began jogging towards the town his King had gone to.

Lawrence watched as starked turned away. "Wrong move. Hasta." He said Conjuring a pike and throwing it at Starks back. An easy target even while running away.

Severide felt a slight chill in the air and smiled. "You girl should count yourself lucky." He said following the drop in temperature. He rounded the corner where the chill came from. "You know we've never had many proper talk. Until now that is. Maybe you should come out as face me like a real man. Or are you too much of a coward? I know how about we go to the castle together. Maybe have some proper talk. You know as much I we need to settle things." He should into an empty alleyway. Not knowing if Lucian was there or not. Still his tactic should work. Or at least make him show his face.

Kaia narrowed her eyes at the man as a smile slithered across his lips. "Lucky?" She gave one hard laugh as he sauntered away, toward the Dragon kings direction. "If you can call it that." She muttered.

She figured she'd leave it alone, that it was none of her business to even spy on the two men, but curiosty still held her. In a powerful leap, she lached onto the side of one of the many stone complexes and thrused herself onto the roof. There she crouched low and cat like, staying far enough where she could not see them or they her but their voices could still carry to her.

It was just like being a small child, scaling the stone buildings and sneaking on roof tops to evesdrop; but this time it was of important matters she shouldn't be spying on.

Lucian turned into the alley standing behind Severide. "It was your army the attacked the North wasn't it, so many years ago, before I made the wall, it was you. Or was it your family, the family that you killed. A king who breaks his own law, thats low, or high. It is a matter of perspective. But when your people discover you are allowing your friends to use magic, I can only imagine some won't take it to well. The North is nice this time of year." Lucian said as he looked towards his horse. The raven was gone. Though it would likely have little meaning to people who feared their king they would know something they had not known the day before.
A chill broke the air and Lucian knew its meaning. Stark had fallen. "b*****d.... you b*****d... Answer my question, was it you who ordered the attack on the North?" Lucian drew his sword. It had a blade of black steel as cold as the wall itself.

Stark spun and tried to cut the spike but he was not fast enough. It pierced his ribcage on the left side collapsing one of his lungs. He fell to his knees as blood began dripping to the ground around him. "I let you live... do not trust Lucian to do the... the same..." Stark fell over to his side and his body melted into the ground as snow would. That was his mutation. He had snow like skin and he was dead,

"It was, But i was under the assumption that my men were holding all of you captive not... how does one put it? Well there is no nice way to put it as i'll say it plain as day. Raping the women and beating the men. That doesn't have such a nice tone. Don't you agree? But if i were you i would put away that sword. Then again i could kill you and make it look like a toxic plant from this kingdom had poisoned you. And as for my subjects what they don't know wont hurt them. A king with not power doesn't deserve to be king at all. Even if his people despise him." His tone was cold. He hung his head turning to Lucian. "I'm sorry about that young man who was with you. I truly am. However a man can defend himself." A smile broke Severide's face. He started laughing. "Please excuse me. It seems my formers powers of detection have dulled. And i didn't think we of all people would be followed. But i may be wrong. After all a sociopath can be entitled to paranoia." He added slowly taking off his gloves and dropping them on the floor. His hands were rough and scared. Almost as if they weren't suited for kings hands.

Lawrence knelt before a poodle of water "May god rest this soul." He stood thrusting his sword into the ground. His battle was over but he felt a war coming on. He started to walk forward in the direct Stark had been running. He hoped this was the direction he should be going since magic was running low even for him.

"You couldn't kill me if I wanted you to..." Lucian said. "Don't act like you didn't know what your men would do. You knew exactly what would happen when you let them lose on the North. But I must give you credit for one thing. You created the Dragon of The North. The creature standing before you today. Your Kingdom is beyond my peace. You will fall. Sooner or later I will get my revenge for what you did to me. This kingdom, it is fair and just, peace is possible, but not for the South. Winter is coming, the North will be at its strongest and when the time comes that I am standing over you with my sword to your neck remember this moment and know everything you did and will do caused it." Lucian was not the man who made light threats. He was a man of his word. He would come for Severide, even if it took years he would come for him. "Understand this, I don't mean to kill you, I mean to hurt you, to paralyze you. Then put you in the wall, just as I did to the men who invaded. The men with courage enough to face death." Lucian gave his final threat before turning and walking out of the alley. "Leave the girl alone, we can not kill citizens without proclaiming an act of war. No matter how curious they may be."
