"I wish I could try it some time, though I doubt anyone around here would approve. I could use a change of pace, even if it's just a different dish to try. It's all so...dull." With a sigh, he leaned back again, misjudging now just where he was seated on the fountain's edge and lost his balance, falling back into the water with a splash and bumping his head against the angelic statue in the middle. This was not turning out to be one of his finer days, he thought to himself as he sat there, soaking wet, letting the statue's jar pour water over him as he rubbed the back of his head with a wince.

Scarlet quickly moved to jump in after him, intending on helping him out of there as quickly as she could. "Oh sod!" she exclaimed, easilly betting that Lucian's bonking his head against that fountain statue must have hurt. "You alright?"

Lucian sat there for a few moments longer before starting to laugh as Scarlet helped him up. "Of course I'm not! I apparently can't even sit properly! It's a wonder they let me walk around on my own at all!" Clearly Lucian's built up frustrations couldn't be held in any longer. "They treat me more like a child than they did when I was six years old! I may be blind but that's no reason to keep me locked in the manor like a pet!" He was just seething with built up frustration as he stood ankle deep in the fountain, needing to vent to his sole friend before the servants inevitably came running to tend to their poor, helpless master.
((Funny thing. I'm listening to a cover of Miku's song "Chain Girl" right now which would probably be Lucian's theme song. xD

{Links? I'd love to hear it! biggrin }
Scarlet took on a sympathetic look, able to see more than ever how things were affecting him. She had a moment of silence, looking in the direction of the manor before speaking her thoughts. She didn't want the servants to overhear her. "Then don't be locked here. Give me a day and a time and I'll take you on an adventure." Nothing too dangerous, of course, but even Scarlet felt that Lucian needed to get out every now and again. "If you need a place to hide out, my cottage isn't too far from here. It's in the forest nearby, and I've got plenty of pap's old clothes if you don't want to risk getting caught packing for something like this."

((Chain Girl. And a rough translation for your english lyrical needs.))
Scarlet would be unable to see Lucian's eyes widen in surprise. He never was sure why everyone made him wear that silly blindfold, but he was always told not to take it off. "I...I don't know what to say...." "Master Lucian!" he looked in the direction of the manor. It seemed the servants were upon him. "Ah, this is going to be all kinds of unpleasant...I'll meet you out here later tonight, alright?"

{Damn! It does fit the bill pretty nicely! biggrin Thanks for the link~}
"Alright. I'll see you then." Scarlet took one glance at the approaching servants. As was the usual protocol, she left before the servants could do or say anything significant to her. She would have stayed, but things would have only turned out for the worse had she done so.

For now, Lucian was pulled along by the hand to get bathed and redressed. After that was done he spent the remaining day listening to music and longingly gazing out the window, not that he'd be able to tell when the moon was out. Eventually he was shuffled off to bed where he stayed awake a while longer to make sure everyone was asleep before making preparations to leave. He managed to find a bag to throw things in and managed to find some assorted clothes and necessities before creeping out into the garden, his bag over one shoulder and his cane in the other.

Scarlet was unsurprisingly quick to meet Lucian at the gardens that night, arriving barely a minute after he did. When she spoke, she sounded quieter and more serious than usual. "I see you beat me here. You ready to head out?"

Lucian just nodded quietly. "The sooner I leave this place behind the better."

"Hold out your hand, then. I'll lead you off." Scarlet then said, waiting patiently for Lucian to do so. She didn't want to draw too much attention to the both of them by constantly speaking up or doing anything more wreckless than this already was.

Lucian adjusted his belongings a bit, moving his cane to hold his bag like a hobo would carry his sack, freeing his other hand to grope about for Scarlet, eventually finding her palm and holding on tightly.

Scarlet squeezed Lucian's hand back as she slowly began to lead him off, only picking up speed once she was certain Lucian's steps were in tune with her own - and even then only doing so gradually. She did her best to lead him along the safest paths she could without venturing out in the open. It wasn't too long until she lead him into the forest, the snapping of twigs and the crunching of leaves echoing softly in the air as they walked along - too far from the town at this point for anyone to hear or care. The wind lightly ruffled the trees overhead, and an owl could be heard hooting in the distance. In the hand that wasn't holding Lucian's she kept her trusty shotgun, having been holding it the entire time. (No doubt his family or servants would have called the guardsmen had they caught her.) After a little while longer she finally spoke up, "We're almost there."

The sudden noises of the forest startled Lucian a bit, making him look around in all directions, though the sound of Scarlet's voice finally eased his mind a bit. If there were anything around for them to be worried of, she would've done something about it by now. He had to admit, the forest was somehow noisier than he expected.

"If you're going to stay with me for long, be aware that the forest is a very dangerous place. You should never try and come out here without me." Scarlet suddenly warned as they approached her cabin, her tone of voice lacking the enthusiasm it normally held. Instead it sounded almost eerilly serene, yet completely serious. She knew Lucian hated being protected overly much, but she had to hope he would understand where she was coming from on this considering all of the stories of dangerous monsters and animals she'd told him about. For now, as she waited for his response, she set her gun aside and pulled out her house key - carefully unlocking the door so both of them could warm up near the fireplace and have a nice bowl of imp stew.

"Scarlet, even if I wasn't blind, I'd be a fool to come out here on my own after hearing about the terrors I've heard from you." Lucian quipped with a small smile.
