[EXAM] Good Deeds Definitely Go Unpunished! (Maple/Poke)

It was hard to navigate in the small area, trying to keep her body weight on the rock and not on the cable itself so as to keep it from snapping. With her claws set firmly into the stone, she slided along the wall to get to the other side of the well, looking for more rubbish to pick up.

gazing into the water, she spied a water soaked bag, and grabbed it so she could see what was inside.

....It was a engagement ring.

Or it looked like one at any rate. It wouldn't surprise her if the item was fake just like the seeds. Oh well, she just hoped she could keep it. The professor had said it was all junk, right?

Thinking she had enough stuff, she pulled herself back up and out of the well, making plans to visit a jeweler later on to find out this ring's worth.

Maple was fretting the whole trip down, her fingers clumped in her hair in a vein attempt to smooth it out and at the same time as an act of comfort. Because she had no idea was intended of them, were they going to some outdoor classroom to show off some skills? Or to another part of the school to be locked in a room with a written exam, left to their own devices with hundreds of questions with no sense of time? There were so many other horrible ideas that came to her mind, and Maple was about to forget how to breathe. Great things. Things weren't starting out so great, she still felt pretty awful for the whole morning situation.

And when they got down to the well, a wave of confusion struck the witch as she stared at the structure and then at the silver seed that was handed to her. A wish? Maple eyed the other two before carefully dropping her own into the well, her hope with it that things wouldn't end in disaster.

Which all roads could still lead as she heard their task. Cleaning up the well of counterfeit. In gear. Going down a well. Maple bit her lip as the other ghoul went at it, herself barely getting anything on, fumbling with the straps when she heard a snap - actually a few - "a.. are you ok-kay?" The witch asked, unsure if she would really get a reply when she finally got herself situated and began to scale down, slowly.... snail pace slowly and mostly with her eyes shut tightly.

Her hand was out, grabbing blindly until her fingers came across something and only then did she open them to see what she found. At first she thought it was a pumpkin seed, someone's own wish until her fingers rubbed against it to flake off some of the paint. Oh. Fake. This was what they needed, right?

Maple squirmed a little in the gear, realizing the uncomfortable position she had found herself in at the bottom of the well. Her lips were pursed together as her hand shot out again, this time seeing the murky waters she was shifting through for her exam. This was so weird and not what she had envisioned at all with any sort of test.

She wasn't sure if she liked it or not, but she was probably steering towards the latter. When did she enjoy anything?

Hopefully nothing lived down in this well, she thought to herself as she pulled out what looked like another fake silver seed.

The witch was swaying ever so slightly as her hand went back into the waters below, creating a soft creaking sound that was beginning to sound oddly therapeutic. But the sound didn't last when a crack broke it and Maple felt herself weightless for a moment before crashing into the water with a hard splash.

She was completely wet, Miss Selene's poor overcoat soaked. "I'm s-so s-sorry," she cried out because she had ruined someone else's clothing. And now her finds were completely gone as a new rope appeared. Was it game over? .... no, didn't seem like it. Round two more like it.

Maple really wanted it to be over.

Having hopped out of the well, Poke stood on the edge as she watched the second student go down the well as well. And since she had calmed down (a little), she took more notice of how unsure the ghoul was. Actually, didn't she yell out something before?

The dragon then flinched when she heard the cable snap, followed by the resounding splash. While she was not worried about being soaked through, she was sure the other student thought differently.

"Are you okay?" She called into the well.

"N-no," came her pitiful little reply. Usually at unheard levels but of course being down a well it echoed and was very clear how she felt. It wasn't even like she was hurt, at least she could justify it some how, it was just her barely there pride.

Made a little worse when her fingers enclosed around gum. Who threw gum down a well? Honestly. T___T

It seemed Maple hit a small vein of chewed gum in the well, a second gunky covered piece found by her wandering hands. Lovely.

Of course Maple didn't want to shove her hand back into the water - not when she was already drenched and getting a little cold now and also all that gum she had collected. But she had to go on, because it was an exam and she didn't think Miss Selene would let her back up (would she turn into a giant snake and eat her if she tried?).

So, the witch put her hand in again, quickly and trying not to let her fingers linger for too long. It seemed to be an okay strategy since at least there was something different. It seemed to be a bag of sorts and when she opened it up, it held... a ring?

Taking the last fetching as a successful way to go about all of this. Maple closed her eyes, stuck her hand in and pulled it out as quickly as she could. Seemed to be fruitful, in that she found herself a bottle cap. Okay.

"P-please h-hold..." Maple was finding herself swaying again and the last time that had happened, well she fell. But she was almost done, closer than the last time and at the moment she was wanting to change her wish to this all being over. Then again, that did kind of fit into the whole 'hoping not for disaster' wish she had done.

And, with that idea (and the desire to be done, DONE), Maple plunged her hand into the waters once again and yanked. Apparently finding one of those fake silver seeds again (maybe one of the ones she had dropped from before?)

"Am.. I d-done?" Please say yes, she hoped as she held onto the rope that still held her down into the well. Making her way back up would probably be a good idea....

Selene slowly pulled both of the ghouls back up, and gave them both very big hugs, regardless of how wet they were. "Wonderful, wonderful job to you both! What a great service you have done for the true wishes that are kept safe in this well!" She collected the fake seeds and other items, putting them all in a little pouch and then tucking them away.

"Listen, my darlings. Your next task is simpler, but I think perhaps I will let you get changed so you are comfortable doing it, hmm? Go on and head back to your dorms, and when you return, I will have everything ready for you in my office!"

She herded them away, and headed back to her office, where she prepared the next task.

When they returned, Selene had a little basket waiting for each of them.

"Welcome back, dears! Please take one of these, and off you go once more. This time, I wish for you to find someone who is in need of some positivity. These baskets are filled with candy and small inspirational notes. Find one or two students around the campus who look like they could stand a little cheering up, and give them one. Perhaps even say a few words of your own to bring a smile to their faces! Good luck!"

PART 2

There are two different ways of doing this task. One is to find someone, anyone who has an enrolled student, who is willing to come into this thread with you and roleplay the student in need. Just a few posts here and there will do, nothing big. Give them the present, cheer them up, and you're essentially done! You CAN do this with more than one person, but the minimum is one!

Alternatively if you can find no one to RP here with you for this task, you may do it with NPC students, and roleplay through yourself. If you are doing it this way, you need a minimum of three students to roleplay with (so three posts!)

It was a little weird to be hugged by a teacher, but hey, she wasn't complaining. Trying to hide the disappointment that she could keep the ring, Poke nodded to the next instruction, going back to her dorm to change her sopping wet clothes, and returned a short time later to see what their new task would be.

Again, she was left perplexed as she was given a basket, and instructed to go find a student and cheer them up. It was really boggling her mind just how this exam was going; her classes consisted of honey badgers and roads filled with lightning, but doing good deeds for your exam was srs business.

Taking the basket, the dragon ghoul walked out of the office and down the corridor towards the outside of the school, looking for a possible student who needed 'cheering up'. Because there wouldn't be a single student in this school who hadn't gone through a trial of suffering at some point, right?

Oh, hey, those two look promising.....oh s**t it was those boils

Yup, she immediately reorganized both. One, whom she had a personal dislike for since he was a brilliant a*****e. And the other? She had personally riped him to shreds when taken over by insanity. Poke may of had no control over herself during this, but she could remember it fully. Oh, she could remember...

She hadn't even talked to either of them since. Damn it was a long time ago. Oh well, time to break the ice. At least if she did this part right, she could rub it in Deacons face she had become a hob faster then he did. The thought cheered her up considerably.

As she approached, she cheered up even more when she overheard a few words from the ghost boil. It sounded as if...Holy jack he was getting dating advice. Best blackmail ever. Honesty though, if Deacon had asked her she would have told him to quit being a a*****e. It might help him in the long run

"Hey you two!" She said, flinching when she saw Yuki. Oh, s**t this was awkward. "H....ow you all doing...It's a great day isn't it? H-hey, you...." What was his name again? "..Sorry about the...insanity thing..." jack just kill her now. "I...couldn't really...do anything about it...Uhh heres a basket!"

She then shoved the basket at the two boils.
