Screams of pain and suffering filled the air as a lone figure stood in a dark alleyway somewhere in new york. Blood stained the man's clothing in patches up and down across his chest. His left arm reaching into his pocket for an unknown item. His right pressed to his lips as a single cigarette was held between two of the fingers. Blood stained the man's face as well dripping slowly down to his chin before dropping to the cold concrete beneath his feet. After a few moments of fishing a scraping noise echoed thru the alley as a dull flame flickered into life. The small flicker of light falling down upon the cause of the blood. A demon or demonic spawn laying against the alley walls. Half of the creatures face had been from the look of it torn off. What was left was contorted in a look of pure terror and laced with unimaginable pain. It was still alive tho that would likely not be the case in a few minutes. It's body was riddled with bullet holes and a portion of it's right side had been neatly sheared off. The creature still breathing was evidence enough of it's hardiness.
"Your a tough one" the figure standing there said as a semi sadistic grin crossed his lips in the darkness. "I like that in my prey." His voice was cold and laced with an evil not matching one who fought on the side of good. "Keep breathing tho you don't have much time left." Kneeling down Kyo pulled the cigarette from his mouth as he blew the hot smoke in the creatures face before putting it out in the demon's eye. The sound of the hot ash hissing when pressed against the liquid protection of the eye was almost sickening. Standing up slowly the creatures screams of pain were like a music and symphony that surrounded the "hero". Behind him a pale blue light shone as a portal opened on the wall just over his shoulder. It was his ride home and his time to leave was now. "Pity" was all he said turning and walking towards it. Somewhere hidden in his clothes a metallic clank issued forth from the two pistols he carried. It was the last sound that the demon heard as the man entered the portal and he and it vanished in a flash of light.
It wasn't long before Kyo was back in the Monastery hidden within the mountains. His latest mission a success in all accounts tho the higher ups would likely not see it that way. As was always the case when dealing with him they kept him at arms length due to his nature. His abilities were ones they would rather keep on there side but his sadistic nature when dispatching the demons or humans on the side of Baal worried them. They kept him under watch and likely there had been one of there agents watching his recent conquest in the city. It didn't matter to him tho as he walked slowly thru the halls of the monastery. They kept him around for one reason and that was a reason he enjoyed so until he was given a reason there was no need to go against the Guardians.

Yua had the slips spread across different trees, implanted to their bark before moving to the center of the forest. She saw a few houses here and there, and even a small village to the east that really attracted the tourism. It didn't matter though, it was soon to disappear. She grasped her sword and began to draw into the dirt, similar to a pentagram though it had a lot more symbols.
She went to a different point to start the process, her index finger reaching up to wipe a tear under her eye and flick the water into the ground "One for sorrow." then into the next one, she whispered "Two for sound.", then for the third she used her blade to slice a wound into her hand and allow the blood drip into dirt "Three for blood." then pulled out some crow feathers to start putting them in between each one "A black feather, for each to be bound." then for the last ingredient, that of a small stone the size of a marble she reached from her back. It pulsed with a blue aura, the small runic symbol on it's shape seemed to be cracked slowly. In the middle of the circle she dug a little with her foot and dropped the rock into the small hole only to bury it.
She jumped back immediately as soon as the marble was covered, a large wave of energy pulsing three times from the center across the forest and further out. When the pulse touched the paper upon each tree, fire formed. Each individual tree would slowly catch fire and spread, though it wasn't an ordinary fire as anyone who looked closely could see the rim of the fires burned with a grey. The trees would burn completely soon, and the grass below would become swallowed. That wasn't so much the main event, but the portal that was opening in the center. The firs thing to rise out of the portal were chains that shot out in what seemed like an attack. Yua had to step aside to avoid one, as it pierced through a tree. The creature within was anchoring himself before coming out. The ground around the portal was already corrupting the land, the grass dying into a sickly color of grey and spreading quickly among the burning forest thanks to the paper. Yua was crouched lowly to the ground near the portal, and avoiding most of the fire for now since it wouldn't last long.

Nyumetsu Demoness of the Shadows Maniacal laughter reverberated off the walls of her cave dwelling. She loved the cold, dark, dank places where shadows were a plenty. Screams echoed throughout the depths from the darkness deep within. There was no telling just how many torture victims this demoness held within the chains and many tunnels. Her whip continued to crack, licking one of her captives in the face across one eye. There were ten at this very moment on their knees with their hands chained behind their backs, attached to their ankles. A very uncomfortable position she was sure. The agony on their faces kept the sadistic grin on her face. Her yellow eyes glowed in the dim firelight. Oh how she was enjoying herself. Her whip caught another prisoner across his bare chest, hollowing out in pain as the sting burned like fire across his skin. Besides the sound of scraping stone, the looks on her captives faces told Nyumetsu she had a visitor.
She turned to face the tall demon that stepped out from the crystal filled cavern. He was one to be admired, but she was not one to fawn over such things. It was how he was that she admired. His purely evil nature, that extra amount of fear he added to those who sat awaiting further punishment. They wreaked of their fear for the two true demons standing before them. His words were music to her ears. "I was unaware it was a possibility to hurt one such as you, Morpheus." Her voice honey-like as she spoke to him, with an underlying cruel tone. She snapped her whip, her back to those in chains, hitting her mark once more. The neck, soft tender flesh, wrapping around it and pulling her prey down. Hands and feet sticking up into the air, the binds cutting into the skin.
Walking over to Morpheus she placed a clawed finger on his cheek and moved it down. "Well you are here now. So why not help me punish these worthless fools who cannot even do their jobs correctly?" She pulled her clawed hand away and walked back to stand in front of those on the cold uneven ground, her hands on her hips. Shadows began to move about, more precise than just the dancing ones from before. Nyumetsu was drawing the shadows closer to one of her captives. The lesser demons eyes widened in fear as the shadows held him above the opening void by his neck. Effectively cutting off his screams. She wanted the screams to build up. The fear rising in his eyes, then suddenly he dropped. The ear piecing scream seemingly cut off the moment he was fully within the void. However, the cruel demoness seemed to dance to the sounds of something musical that only she could hear. The screams of all those still alive within the void. Oh, one just died! The pure evil delight on her face made the others fall paler than before. One actually sicking up.

The dummy that was chasing him from behind was closing the gap between the two of them. Maverick just grinned as he kept his pace, waiting for exactly the right moment. As the space between the one he was chasing and the one chasing him was just right he leaped forward stabbing the one in the head and ricocheted off that one and sliced clean through the one behind him. He grinned as he landed and then the dummy fell in half and he rose slowly. Suddenly he noticed Skye in the door way and said"How long have you been there?" he was still slightly panting as he spoke since he had been working very hard over the past few hours.

"Just got here." Skye replied as she stopped leaning and stood to face him. "How long have you been training? I was thinking of having a sparring match, but from the way you look it wouldn't be fair." She said with a teasing smile. Walking over to the side of the room, she grabbed a clean towel and tossed it over to Maverick.

Maverick smirked and said "Uhm, four or five hours now. I don't know you'd have to ask Serissa, we had started training together sparring for a bit then she went off, and I kept training." He caught the towel she tossed at him and chuckled and said"Then again, she's not known for talking to most of the group. Also if you really want to spar I think I could put up more of a challenge than you think." He used the towel to wipe some of the sweat off his face. How much time had actually passed. He seemed to be getting rather engrossed in his training.

From a perch above the grounds of the training area, Lydia sat, bow in her hands as she watched Maverick go from training hard to speaking with Skye. "Yeesh," she remarked at last. "Keep on working those long hours, and you'll be all tired out when duty calls." She didn't bother to come down from her perch, instead just watching the two of them with amusement. Lydia had been there for about a half hour, simply watching, occasionally debating over whether or not to freak him out by letting loose an arrow. Now, she was regretting the fact that she hadn't.
Sometimes, she came off as someone who was absolutely serious about her work. In honesty, she was. When it came right down to it, when she was in the field, she was hardly going to be playful. But, when she was able to relax even a little, she was nothing but a huge wise-a** with the occasional bad temper. Training tended to be something she didn't take quite as seriously as the others, but in her defense, she'd been into archery all her life. Magic, on the other hand, was something she would spend an hour or two per day working on. Archery, she would let loose an arrow when she damn well pleased. The melee part, with her bladed bow, on the other hand, she would spend an hour and a half to two hours per day. Lydia at least knew she had to keep in shape.
Then again, she wasn't a half angel like Maverick. It was no surprise he had pretty good endurance. For a human, Lydia did as well. But, every human got tired out eventually.

"Sheesh. Do you even take a break?" Skye asked with a sigh. She too trained hard, but she didn't go on for hours. She didn't even think she had the stamina for it. It was then she heard Lydia from above and gave her a small wave. She wasn't aware that she was up there either. "She's right you know? You could get an emergency call and be all tuckered out in the middle of battle. But if you're sure that you're up for it, I'll spar. Just don't start crying after ten minutes." she said with a smirk, teasing him, as she grabbed one of the swords from the rack and got into position.

Maverick shook his head "I take breaks as I feel I need them. Though probably not as many as anyone would like." He could recount all the times his teammates fretted over how he would often train for hours on end. "I have more stamina than you think, I am half-angel after all" He smirked at Skye as she grabbed one of the blades. He got into his battle stance waiting for her to get into position. Once he knew she was ready, he charged towards her with an incredible speed blades at his side to reduce wind resistance until just the right moment when be brought them forward, ready for her to block his attack.

If you would like to see the actual picture click this one! It was another nightmare... Of waking up alone in the woods without her twin there. Of calling out her twin's name and hearing nothing but menacing laughter and footsteps. Of feeling defeated and alone, and so very frightened. Waking up in a sweat she squealed for two solid seconds before covering her mouth to quieten the almost screaming she was doing. AFter a couple of more seconds all that could be heard from where she was sleeping was heavy breathing. She folded her arms around her torso and tried her hardest to forget, and then stood. She needed to find something to drink. Shayna dressed in the same outfit she had been found in. Before leaving her room to find some water.
Laughter echoed around the dank forest. She was testing out her new system. It was fun, figuring out which ways her voice went and then could be made to go another way. Felicia simply enjoyed her task. The half breed continued to mess with the mechanisms as she listened to the sounds around her. Since she had been brought in to Baal's side, she had become more accepting and willing of her new powers. They were simply magnificent.
Shayna soon found some water and went to see what people were doing. Anyone anywhere... She needed company after her nightmares and soon found some people. Four were on the training grounds and one was the male who had saved her life years ago. She still felt like she owed him for that but he was too much of a nice guy to let her pay him back. But still she sat near the door way to watch the sparring match.

As expected, she knew Maverick would rush at her as she dodged to the side and quickly swung her sword at him, aimed at his back. She sparred with him before so she knew how fast he was. His speed didn't surprise her as she expected him to block and swing with his other sword. At the corner of her eye she could see that more people were coming to watch. I guess it would be more interesting now to see who will beat whom.

Maverick decided to change things up this time, rather than just block her attack with the one sword he put both swords and parried her away, he was unaware of the crowd gathering, he had his full attention on the fight. As he had parried her he had shot himself backwards this time he waited for her to make the next move. His eyes looked cold but focused as he watched her and looked for an opening.

Skye was caught off guard a bit from the parry, but was about to quickly counter until he had moved back. She too had jumped back a bit as she recovered from the parry. She waited a little while before rushing forward. From there she started slashing left and right at a speed that was hard to break. She knew that Maverick could block pretty much all of these attacks, but she was waiting for an opening as well.

Demon of Torture
A cold, empty laugh sounded quietly in response to Nyumetsu's comment of hurting him. He couldn't help but smile, the cruelty that laced her voice always amused him. He stood completely still as he watched one of the little wretches fall forward onto their face with their bound limbs sticking up behind them. She was as skilled with her whip as he was with his, which was curled up and hanging on his hip. Her offer for him to help punish them made his smile widen. He had rested enough from Baal's last list of orders. It was time he had some fun. She had pulled away and walked back to the shaking beings. They were all uncomfortable, which for their crimes...they should be. Morpheus reached to his side and unhooked his whip, taking it in hand as he walked to stand behind the prisoners and right across from Nyumetsu.
His whip was gold, and gleamed in the low light. It made the tied beings shake even more before turning to watch the sight that the demoness caused. He had to admit, the powers she had with voids did make things interesting. He even envied her a little for being able to continue hearing their screams once dropped into the darkness. The scream that had been let loose before cutting off had been a good one, built up. He watched them pale before her as she danced to her own music. The being that got sick caught his intense gaze. A flick of the wrist and his whip reached out, licking the beings skin across the back and making him cry out. Tears ran down it's face. "And you call yourselves demons..." He said in a quiet tone, his voice was cold as ice and as sharp as a double edged blade.
Another flick of his wrist and his whip wrapped around the lesser demons neck. It writhed trying to get free, its hands still bound so it couldn't grab for the binding that was cutting off it's air. It wanted to scream, but with no air, it couldn't make a sound. The earth suddenly started to mold upward and around the being, creating a cocoon around it. He drew his whip away and curled it back up, watched as the earth cut the being off from them. There were cracks, enough to let sound through. He was screaming, begging to be let free of the tight and dark space. Crystals started to form on the inside, a slight shine through one of the cracks showed this. They spiked outward slowly, piercing the beings skin in several places making him scream louder and longer. They formed as such a snails pace that the being wasn't given a chance to rest from the pain.
He looked to the rest of them, who were now trying to scoot away from the small prison. "Oh, I'm sorry, did you want to see what was happening?" Several shook their head, but it was to late. The being on the opposite side was being scooped into a clear binding much similar to that of the other, except this one was crystal so every moment of terror on her face showed. She was cut off just the same, cracks left to let sound through. The spikes formed just like the other, slowly coming forth to cut her skin. Where the blood was only leaking out and wounds were unseen on the other prison, this one the blood could be seen dripping between the spikes and down the crystals walls. His invisible gaze turned back to Nyumetsu. "How many are still alive?" He asked as if it were a normal question one would ask any other day. One of the lesser demons in front of him fainted and fell to their side.
{{OOC:: Sorry about it being so long @.@ I kinda got carried away... >.> }}

The Demonic Guardian
A light breeze brushed through his long hair, making it move around his shoulders as he walked. Leathery wings were folded tightly against his back. It was still odd to some, seeing the demon walking amongst the Monastery. Half demons at least had the excuse of being part human that kept them from being completely dark. But a full demon was a rare sight amongst the Guardians. He could hear the distant clashing of blades and knew people were training. When wasn't someone training? It seemed like several of the people here did nothing but just that. He knew Maverick was one of them. His thoughts were disrupted when he noticed the wind was getting stronger and more eerie with the passing of time. His wings twitched slightly with the want to fly, but he kept himself grounded for the moment.
His own thoughts had wandered off, more toward things that he tried not to think of. His sister was one, the twin he left behind to come here. Her name was well known amongst demons. It was because of that fact that Nyujaku had taken to having people just call him Jaku. The twins shared the first part of their names, and he would rather not be constantly connected to her every time someone tried to get his attention. His feet moved through the grass quietly, his eyes finally catching the reason for the winds change. Serissa was sitting in the grass, a book in hand and her weapon next to her. "You keep it up and you'll end up blowing someone over." He spoke, his voice was low but gentle. Jaku offered a small smile as he drew close enough to be just feet away before he stopped. Her breeze was blowing his hair around a bit, making small strands stray across his face every now and then. Some would get caught on the collar around his neck before falling back down around it.
