I have my team of 6 now, just gotta finish training the latter 4. Azumarill, Gliscor, Gardevoir, Hydreigon, Ferrothorn, and Aegislash.
Gardevoir and Aegislash are subject to change. I will be taking notes on how they do. The other 4 are pretty much staples on my team for now. Ferrothorn traded 2 resistances for 1 with the new type, and even though I never used a Hydreigon in Gen 5, he is the perfect candidate for what I want him for. I'm thinking Azumarill and Gliscor will blend well with most any team and perform their roles with consistent excellence when played properly.
In order of confidence to stay on my roster: Gliscor, Azumarill, Hydreigon, Ferrothorn, Aegislash, Gardevoir.
I have the least hope for Gardevoir, and I believe Gliscor will be the most promising. He held a firm top 5 usage in OU for some time, and he's one of my top 5 favorite Pokemon of all time.
(If anyone cares, my top 5 favorite Pokemon are in order: Lapras, Flygon, Gliscor, Azumarill, Mawile)
I wish Mawile had gotten a regular evolution and not just a Mega. :S

RiverPelt299 *Random person popping in* i dont care for EV's or IV's :/ but my team is unstoppable. Challenge me if you dare... P.S. i need a xerneas and im willing to trade anything for one.. Except.. my main team any of my spare team my ledgends my breeders (to hunt for shinys) i will trade a shiny for one though :3 but so far my only shiny is a stunky :c Also i never use mega evolution its so over used e-e I'll battle if we can call a No-Megas Clause and ban the staple Ubers. Basically all Ubers from last gen are banned except Garchomp, Excadrill, Tornadus-T, Thundurus, Landorus, and Blaziken (if you must >.> ). You can use Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde if ya want. They don't look like Uber material to me, but they may be a bit too strong for OU. We'll see, but you can use em if ya want. I don't plan on it myself. Anything else from this list, I'm not putting up with. Those mentioned are legal in my book if you want to use them. Other than that same Standard Rules with the regular Clauses. Oh, look, the team I'm using in 1 post above. *hint hint*

Erm... How many Wifi Battles have you had total? Like, take a rough guess. You sound a little new to competitive battling. If I said, Standard Rules, can you name 1 Clause? Here is 1, called Sleep Clause. You can only put one of my Pokemon to sleep at a time. Until that Pokemon awakes or faints you cannot put another to sleep. If I use Rest it does not count toward Sleep Clause. Sleep induced from Effect Spore counts, but cannot disqualify you. For example, you put my Hippowdon to sleep with Hypnosis with your Gengar. Then, while Hippowdon in still asleep later in the match, I use a contact move against your Breloom with Effect Spore and get put to sleep. You are not disqualified. However, if your Breloom's effect spore put my Pokemon to sleep first, your Gengar is not allowed to use Hypnosis until that Pokemon either faints or wakes up. That is the full detail of the Sleep Clause. It is included in every Standard Battle. If you break the rule you are disqualified, like in tournament play. In 'for fun' battles you just honor the rule and if you break it your opponent is likely to disconnect. Same as using Mewtwo or any other Uber in a Standard Battle Are you familiar with this stuff?

I'm wondering if sleep will see the same amount of play now that the sleep counter doesn't reset when you switch out They changed it back? I was unaware, but it's definitely better this way. As far as usage, Sleep wasn't more common last Gen compared to Gen 4. Hypnosis had 70 Accuracy in D/P, and I believe it stayed that way when you battled on D/P, but I could be wrong. In Black/White everyone switched their Gengars' slots from Hypnosis to Disable. Most sleep moves have shaky accuracy. In an all-out offensive format like in Gen 5 a miss can mean certain death. Gen 4 was more friendly to variety and originality, as well as stall teams. Gen 5 consisted of the same top 10 running the show on every team. The only Pokemon that consistently ran any sleep moves was Breloom. Because Spore has 100% accuracy. Even then, most people used TechniLoom instead of the Spore/Substitute/Focus Punch/Filler from gen 4. So Spore would sometimes go unused because of the combination of Breloom's slowness along with its frailty when it just needs to fire off Technician STAB Mach Punches. Ideally you'd want to set up Swords Dance then attempt a late-game sweep. Spore may or may not aid you in that. All of that combined with the Sleep Clause, it really wasn't worth using. People usually see it coming anyway and sponge it with Poison Heal Gliscor (That's already Poisoned), Natural Cure Pokemon like Celebi can also sponge it, Heal Bell was uncommon but still used. Sleep became more or less a gimmick. Again, Breloom ran Spore, but most people had a way to sponge it anyway. Overall, Sleep can be game changing when the proper moment arises. But you have to deal with Breloom or shaky accuracy and there's many common counters as mentioned above. EDIT: I wanted to note that I am predicting a lot of variety this gen in Competitive Battling. Sure, there will be the top ten Pokes of OU. But Hydro Pump and many powerful moved got nerfed. 80 Accuracy for 110 Power isn't much fun. A lot of moves got damage reductions, including T-Bolt and the likes, though only 5 BP drop. But everyone will who preferred Hydro Pump before will have to consider switching to Surf. DrizzleToed now has to switch in more frequently because the rain only lasts 5 turns. That nerfs the momentum of all weather teams. Dragons, the offensive brutes from Gen 3-5, now have to worry about a Fairy switching in. All players think twice before locking into Outrage. Grass Pokemon are immune to powder moves, nerfing Breloom's Spore even further as well as any users of Sleep Powder (the 2nd most accurate sleep-inducing move not including Dark Void). For what it's worth all Ghosts can't be trapped to stay in. Shadow Tag is rare, Mean Look's usage is abyssmal even on Baton Pass teams where it sees any usage at all. But Arena Trap Dugtrio can't trap Aegislash which is pretty big. I'm hoping for a brisk pace, more defense, more strategy, more variety, and I'm thinking that's what we'll get. smile

Archolite Gen 5 consisted of the same top 10 running the show on every team. yeah, that's why I preferred playing in the lower tiers. Even still, when I play on the wifi random matchup, more than half the people I play pull out Mega Mewtwo Y and I still wipe the floor with them. Oh, I also noticed that the ability Oblivious now prevents Taunt as well as infatuation. Almost got walled to death by heavily defensive Oblivious rest users because I couldn't wear them down fast enough, and couldn't taunt them to prevent recovery. You gotta love those lucky crits sometimes smile

In a guild dedicated to pokemon, it's nothing special to be obsessed with pokemon. I've been playing the games ever since the first ones came out, and as a matter of fact I've been playing them longer than you've been alive. You don't want to get into a pissing contest here because the whole thread will get soaked in urine. Or something like that. Suffice to say, everyone here is a die-hard pokemon fan, many of whom are competitive battlers or semi-competitive battlers with an intimate knowledge of abilities, type match-ups, and what a pokemon's base stats are.
I am MALE! So what?
That being said, I hope you can back up your claims. No one's managed to beat my triple battle team yet and I'd be very impressed if you could.
PM me/post your Friend Code so we can battle

I'm 20, been playing since I was 6 (dat red version, son). I'm a woman. So feminine. I won my last match 6-0. I've played multiple hundreds of matches in Gen 4. And maybe like 120 games in Gen 5. All jokes aside, I think you should stop saying how good you are. I'm trying to find a nice way to say it, but.. What's gonna happen is someone is gonna take you seriously and lay down a 6-0 smackdown on you. Then you might get your feelings hurt for talking all that smack. =/ Your enthusiasm for Pokemon is always welcome! That IS what this guild is for after all. Just don't get cocky about your battling prowess. wink I will battle you if you'd like. Shoot me a PM when you're ready. I'll dig up a copy of Standard Rules and send that to you. I think the way Gen 6 does it is Level 50 instead of 100. So just make sure your Pokes are 50+ in Level. Anything above will drop to level 50 with the respective stats they would have at Level 50. I don't know if Pokemon rise to Level 50 though.
