A year two hellhound could only do so much against a group of experienced hunters. As soon as her claws reached for the blond hunter, he immediately retaliated three times over. She whined, instantly recoiling and covering her face with her hands. Alecto parted her fingers, peering at Jason with bright glowing eyes. “Not a sparspar?” she murmured. Confused, she briefly pressed her ears tight against her head. Her lips twisted into a pout. “But sparspars are funfun,” she insisted. But the ghoul obediently stepped back upon her upperclassman’s command. Alecto’s attention returned to the hunters, and very briefly she glanced at the horsemen. She paused.
She had never seen them before. Their clothes were distinct and from different clans, that Alecto could notice. She opened her mouth to say something, but the woman seemed to beat her to the punchline with a screech and a wave of her weapon. Alecto released another surprised yelp and stumbled backwards. “Owowowowow,” she whined. The battle seemed to kick into overdrive as she stumbled around, reeling from the fresh pain of her wounds.
Her tail whipped around wildly, lightly brushing against Marcus as she continued to stumble around, confused.

As TK stepped back with a hand by his side, one of the other students brashly stepped in and attempted to land a hit on the moon hunter. She seemed to deal some damage, but what she gave she received many times over. The skeleton winced as she watched her cover her face and hastily step backwards. A skinny arm reached out to her to help regain her balance. His attention was immediately drawn toward Edel when she spoke up again. The undead wildly looked around the room, attempting to gauge the others’ next movements before deciding his own. “I agree,” he murmured. “If we could perhaps settle this without further conflict that would…” His voice trailed off as the war horseman let out a loud screech and attacked hunters and students alike.
He was sent falling to the floor like the bag of bones he was. His teeth ground together, but TK forced himself back onto his feet without much complaint. “That was hardly necessary,” he hissed beneath his breath as the others continued to make their own moves. Never much of a fighter, TK opted to stand back and watch the others. Perhaps even take a few steps backwards and toward the door. Perhaps he could make a quick escape before things escalated too far.
TK would have gladly accepted Edel’s offer for protection, but the dog had decided to stumble too close toward a hunter. “Watch your step,” he called out gently, reaching for Alecto’s arm.
