She found the familiar trees again and stepped in between them, shrouded by the heavy fog that rolled around her. This would save her the next time the thing tried to hit her in the head again.

The trees came in handy. She had walked a small way when she felt its presence. She started running in time to avoid its grasp. She stepped into the trees and ducked down low, letting the fog and shadows conceal her completely.

She stepped out and the blinking lights flashed on her. For a moment, she froze and flinched waiting for the blow to her head that never came. As she looked over her shoulders, she realised it was only a small critter. Annoying, but not painful. She continued on.

As she continued, the blinking lights grew brighter and it was impossible for her to hide. The sound of heavy footsteps prepared her and she tried to cover her head before she was grabbed but he managed to knock her out and drop her off at the edge of the forest.
