[1v1] The cold hearted [Shun v Edel]

An expression of desolation crossed the ghoul's face as she watched the reaper almost shatter the barrier in place. So much for that, but she'd make do with what she had.

A lance of ice was thrust through the barrier at the reaper, shattering off bits of ice off it.

Shun was getting ready to strike the barrier again, when a sudden lance of ice pierced him through his abdomen. His eye widened and he staggered back from the blow with a grunt. It was enough that he couldn't quite retaliate in a timely fashion.

To be honest, the ghoul herself was a little stunned at that last move. But this was Shun.

Gathering up the broken fragments of the barrier, the ghoul showered them upon the reaper. She was all out of ideas now.

Shun was still recovering from getting impaled when several shards of ice cut into him. He grunted lowly, slowly pushing himself out of the icy lance while his blood began to splatter onto the ground below.

Letting out slow, though heavy breath, he closed his eyes and tried to push aside the pain. Lowering himself, he charged at the shield with his shoulder, managing to shatter it this time around. One of the rings on his hand began to give off a sort of black smoke.

This shadowy smoke soon began to disperse from his daggers and his movements suddenly quickened as he tapped into the power of his artifact. Using this extra speed he now had, he began to shadowstep around Edel. He appeared behind her, stabbing towards her back, then poofed to her front and slashing from there. The Reaper suddenly was at her side, then the other.

He continued to teleport all around the ice demon, attacking from all angles.

Shun eventually stopped, landing a few feet away from Edel, crouching down and breathing heavily.

The ghoul never saw the strikes landed on her, but they did.

"I think-" she managed between breaths, "That is quite enough?"

Shun was just about to strike again when Edel spoke up, calling for an end to the fight. The blade of his dagger was an inch away from making contact with her body when he stopped himself. Eyeing her, he soon stepped back and away, dismissing his weapons.

"Very well," he said quietly. He wasn't quite standing straight at the moment, as he placed a hand over the area where Edel's lance had run him through. The wound was still bleeding right now.

From time to time, Xiu liked to drop by the school just to check up on her friends, and today just happened to be one of those unplanned visits. With a messenger bag containing a bunch of carefully packaged spookies slung over her shoulder, she made her way out to the school. As she sought out her friends and handed out these little gifts she had brought, the ghoul furrowed her brows when she realized that she hadn't seen Shun anywhere. Well, knowing him...

Arriving at the gym, the ghoul poked her head in with a smile, lifting a hand to wave upon spotting two very familiar figures. "Oh, there you are! Edel, aniki! I was looking for youuuuu...u..."

Her smile fell, eyes growing almost comically round as she trailed off with a blank and horrified stare. There was a moment of pause, and then the baku ghoul bolted in, nearly slipping in a spot of blood as she came to a stop beside the reaper.

"Oh Jack--oh Jack, what is all of this blood?! No, no no no aniki sit back down right now and please stop movingand...and uh...!" Her hands frantically--and uncertainly--hovered around him. She looked like she was having a mini panic attack.

She hadn't realised the extent of Shun's injury till now, and just as the guilt had kicked in Xiu had appeared, making the ghoul feel VERY GUILTY watching the baku have a mini panic attack.

"Ice pack?" she offered, holding out a block of ice.

Nurse cricket would be so disappointed at her lack of first aid knowledge.

The ghoul didn't know what to do, except apologize.

"I am so sorry," she said solemnly.

Shun was in a good amount of pain right now, but he was pretty good at quashing it or downplaying it. He probably would have just gone on his way to Cricket's when Xiu suddenly showed up, freaking out over his wounds. He furrowed his brow as she frantically urged him to sit down and stop moving. The reaper kept one hand over the wound while reaching out to place the other on Xiu's shoulder.

"Calm down. I'm alright," he said quietly before looking to Edel and her... block of ice. Slowly, he took it and.. placed it on the wound with some discomfort. It should at least slow the bleeding.

"Don't apologize. It's a spar. Injuries happen. I've done and received worse," he muttered. He wasn't entirely certain what the big deal was.

"People who are 'alright' do not have random holes in them," Xiu protested, clearly still in a panic, "I mean--yes it's not your fault, Edel, a fight's a fight--" She turned to look at the other ghoul with a small smile, giving a quick wave of her hand before looking back to Shun and thrusting a finger out at him, "But you should not be up on your feet."

That being said, they had to get him to Nurse Cricket. But how...?

Crouching down and wrapping her arms around his legs, the small ghoul promptly tried to pick her big brother up.

Needless to say, it didn't really work.

...Those were hardly comforting words in light of the current situation.

Uhm... the ghoul stared at Xiu, who was trying to do something.... Elevate the wound? Oh but this was just sending more blood to the opening -

Oh. Yes. Right. They should bring him to see the nurse.

Edel quickly formed a rudimentary cart of sorts, functional enough to wheel Shun into the infirmary quickly. Running over to take hold of his arms at the shoulders, the ghoul looked at Xiu and said, "On three?"

"Xiu..what are you doing?" he muttered as she wrapped her arms around his legs and tried... something. He wasn't sure what. She really was making a fuss here, though.

"I can walk on my own," he uttered grumpily. And he was just about to start walking out of the gym when he noticed Edel making... a.. cart? The ice demon had also taken a hold of his arms. With a furrowed brow, he looked to the two girls.

"Oi. Oi. I'm fine. Really. You don't need to fuss.."  

[Kaiyumi]

"You're a genius, Edel," Xiu praised the other ghoul brightly upon the creation of the cart, "That is exactly what we need!" Except obviously Shun didn't think so, but he was up against two ghouls who obviously had their own ideas.

Giving Shun a gentle pat, she crouched back down and wrapped her arms around his legs again, nodding at Edel.

"Ready when you are!" Oh boy. "One...two...!"

"Three." She heaved and together they hoisted the boil onto the cart, who was now all ready to be wheeled off to the infirmary. The ghoul was just going to follow Xiu directive from now, even if it meant ignoring whatever Shun was saying.

... Her own cuts were starting to sting, too, but she kept mum about that. Everything hurt a lot more in the real world, now that they were back.
