"Good," Siddie said primly, brushing her dress down with the blunt backs of her claws to avoid ripping the fabric. She would need to mend it anyway, but she didn't want to make the problem worse. "It was supposed to."

She shook herself slightly, shaking off the clinging tendrils of alien emotion, though the startled outrage had been utterly satisfying. She watched him as he stalked closer again, her glossy lips twisting a little as he exuded slime, a slime that seemed to close the wounds she'd inflicted on him. She danced a few steps back and hissed softly in response. A layered, translucent cloud of shadow eeled out of her mouth, wrapping her up entirely and obscuring her from view for a few moments before it smoked away.

"So will you," she answered, and raised her claws again in challenge.

It was with disdain that Zar looked over Siddie's dress as she tidied it, to him it seemed ridiculous to have even the slightest concern about clothing in a fight, he'd come to prefer nothing at all over any constraining garments. Still, it had its desired infuriating effect on him, making him lash his tail and bare his fangs.

"Gladly." he said, and tossing his head to flip slime soaked fur out of his eyes, he leapt forward again in a run, this time using primarily his talons to strike out at her, bringing with them a flash of stark rage and bloodthirstiness every time he swiped, and it was clear once again that he was seeking to get another stranglehold on her with his tail if she showed any hesitation at all.

Siddie hissed, catlike, and twisted as Zar struck at her, returning each sharp slice of talons with one of her own. A chill and violent intent bled through each slashing touch, a firm core of patient anger and a stone wall of refusal surfacing in answer to the bloody rage he battered her with.

She moved quickly and lightly, evading his attempts to wrap her up again, though sometimes only by fingerwidths, as much luck as skill. She wasn't tired quite yet, and she'd not yet been forced to leave her clothes behind.

It was tough to get a hold on Siddie, his tail making a rapid crack as it swiped and missed, teeth clipping on thin air. And he felt alive. He didn't care about what other people thought, he didn't care what other students thought, like this he was a predator and that was all that jacking mattered.

He wanted her, wanted to catch her, pin her, defeat her, consume her. And yet still she danced ahead of him, just out of reach, punishing claws and that smug look she'd given him when she'd healed.

It was fun.

And though he missed often, he did not relent, showing no sign of weariness or giving up, only a fierce and dogged determination as he threw every tool of the trade he had at her - and in the process got the floor completely covered in slippery slime.

The increasing slipperiness of the floor made things more difficult, forcing Siddie to concentrate more on keeping her balance as she evaded the lashing coils of Zar's tail; it was unsettling, too, a prettily decorative slime that she would have appreciated had she not known that it dripped out of his fur. The uncertainty of exactly what it was was disconcerting.

Still, the give and take and the chaotic dance of the fight was exciting, keeping her moving constantly, exquisitely aware of the space around her and the intense predatory intent focused on her. It was flattering, in a way, being the center of attention like this, even if she knew perfectly well that that meant being devoured if she allowed herself to be caught and he forgot himself far enough to forget that eating another creature would damage him as well.

Zar kept low to the ground, using the sheer muscle of his tail to give himself extra traction on the slimy floor as it curved behind him. She was the only thing he cared about in the moment, tongue flicking as he followed her, tasting the air and trying to anticipate where she'd be, striking out in deft snaps of his fangs.

It took a lot of doing, a lot of paying attention and a lot of luck to finally land a sharp bite on her shoulder before she was one again away out of reach.

The world had narrowed to the fight, the space, and the two of them, the way it did in a real fight, a fight to stay alive. Siddie eeled to one side, turned to draw back her hand for a slashing attack, and found Zar suddenly on top of her, jaws closing over her shoulder. His teeth sank in deep, and she hissed furiously and brought her claws up into his throat, one knee up hard into his breastbone to shove herself away. Anger and focus and a simmering rising bloodlust clung like cobwebs.

The teeth ripped fabric and shadow as she tore herself out of his grip, but she smiled widely, small shining teeth in the dark.

Zar could feel his fear begin to protest, pushing himself and his body as far as he could and then further still. He hissed in pain as Siddie struck his chest, but it was equal parts delightful and harmful. Every strike against him seemed to only make him more focused and intent. He was innately serpentine and she seemed to have him charmed with her movements, the more she let herself relax, the more he too edged into the back and forth parry and swipe of combat.

He demonstrated a startling aptitude also with the scythe-like talons on his hind hooves.

There was a kind of pattern to the fight, though it wasn't nearly as formal a dance as others she'd learned. The scything talons on Zar's hind legs hurt, and when she struck back, her claws jarred on the hard hooves. The move also brought his serpentine tail whipping too close for comfort, and she leaped back instead of trying to land a harder blow.

One foot slipped as she landed, and she had to put a hand down on the ground to keep from falling entirely. The slime clung to her claws, and she grimaced.

As Siddie slipped, Zar took full advantage in retaliation, his own paws seeming to resist the slime at least somewhat for traction on the floor. With a hiss he leapt after her, shifting direction mid-assault to throw the full weight of his tail against her in a swipe, hoping to knock her down or at least further off balance.

Zar's tail knocked Siddie sideways, a dizzyingly hard hit, and though she knew that contact would subject her to the emotional link again she lashed out with her claws and sank them deep into the flesh of his tail, steadying herself as she dug her claws in. She was hurting now, aching and leaking thin trails of shining bruise-purple blood from several places, but the sense of her was focus and ferocity, determination and a kind of grim pleasure in giving as good as she was taking.
