It was a fine day. Sky was blue... Grass Green. The trees wre rimmed with golden fall colors, with red leaves. It was starting to get chilly, only the breeze for the moment even mentioned Autumn was on it's way. Days away it felt. Shenaiya was standing at the head of it all. She watched as the regular students were sent flying and into their own version of the test. The ragtag group that they had now was rather dull since there were several who showed up. As was to be expected. But she was rather bored already. She sighed... It was only the first day of class and this was the only thing they had to do today. Find their partners and their teams...

"Hello everyone. Today we are finding out who will be your partner for the next four years... Now we are going to start off by sending you to the temple in the woods. Inside will be three different trinkets. Just pick one and bring it back. The first person you see and lock eyes with is your partner." The headmaster said and Shenaiya nodded. Rather bored already.

((You could've done like RWBY did and pretended there were in fact other faceless NPC students there, but whatevs. XD ))

Daren peered over the edge of the cliff at the forest below and let out a low whistle. It was impressive, and a long way down. Sounded easy enough. Question was, how were they getting down? He looked around, not one to admire the scenery, and just wanted to know where the path down was, eager to get into the forest and for their assignment to begin.

Jake smiled as he bounced on his toes to get his blood pumping. He was so ready for this. He was going to go into the woods, kick some a**, find an awesome partner, get the trinket, and be the first one back. He would be the mvp of the day, the leader of them all, the guy that everyone respected but knew nothing about. Or at least that was the way it played out in his head, hopefully reality and the universe would allow it to actually work out that way.

Jake raised a hand as the instructions were given to them. How exactly were they going to be sent to the temple? Was there going to be like a jeep or something escorting them most of the way? It was something he felt he needed the answer to. He, of course, wasn't paying any attention to the other students in the line because he didn't care much about them at the moment. Though, if he was he would be less concerned with how he was going to be sent off and more concerned about how he was going to land.

Arms crossed and a hood pulled up over his head to cover the black ears that twitched from time to time at each rustle of the area around him, Kyo watched the headmaster from underneath. A single translucent silver stared at the person matched by a dazzling hazel that complemented the eye color well. "Temple in the woods" he muttered to himself as he sniffed the air a bit getting a feel for the people in the area.

After a moment of talking he had gotten at least a partial grasp. Find the trinket and return. Apparently looking at another of the potential hunters or huntresses was as good as signing a pact to become partners. "Weird" was all he muttered as he pulled the hood from his head. The cold wind hitting his ears for the first time today gave him a small shiver as he stretched a little bit. The test was set to start soon and he would need to limber up some to get it done as quickly as he could.

Shenaiya listened carefully as the Professor talked to them. Alright.... Then someone asked how they were going to land. "Hmm... Figure it out." He chuckled and Shenaiya groaned quietly. After about four people were launched into the air by 'spring boards' it was Shenaiya's turn to be launched. She braced herself as the ground beneath her sprung up at a slant to send her up and forwards. She chuckled at the feeling of the air. This was great! But as she grew closer to the ground, she happily turned back towards where she had launched from and shot at the tops of the trees as she grew closer, the firing power shooting her farther. She finally landed after three shots and was happy to just dust off her clothing. She wasn't sure exactly where she was heading, but hey! Look on the bright side right? At least there aren't any.... "What was that..." She asked herself quietly as she walked. Already she could hear the sounds of movement in the brush.

Shenaiya was just about to find out when a BeoWolf jumped out at her and she jumped up and over it, using it's head as a foot fall. As she leapt over the Grimm, she turned her gauntlets into their sniper counterpart and started shooting it in the head. Two shots and it was dead. She sighed as she landed before heading on.

Kachunk. Daren glanced in the direction of the odd sound. Wasn't there someone standing next to him just a second ago? Kachunk. This time he saw the student get flung into the air. Kachunk. He grinned and looked forward, priming himself for 'flight'. Kachunk. "Oh hell yes." Kachunk. "This is going to be sweeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!" With a loud holler he was sent soaring into the air. When he started to lose altitude, he used his semblence to give him a strong headwind and gust of air below him, slowing his fall until he neared the tree tops and brought out his claws, stabbing one into a tree trunk and scratching the bark off as he spun around in a corkscrew until he touched ground.

As the way of being launched to the training area was revealed Kyo rolled his eyes somewhat. If not for the aura and the semblence of some of them this method would be nothing more then murder. Some of the others were rather excited at the way of shot out into the forest but currently he himself just wanted to get this test over with, hopefully without any injuries. Kneeling down somewhat he braced himself as the panel underneath him shot up catapulting him out and thru the air. As he flew he kept his arms and legs close to his body. As he neared the ground Kyo flipped as he shook his arms. Both of his tonfa's hidden within his sleeves fell out and, after a quick moment were combined and the spear end was revealed. Nearing the tree's Kyo threw his spear into the nearest one embedding it fully into the tree as he reached out and grabbed the shaft. With a flip he was now standing atop the weapon staring out at the forest.

Sighing slightly Kyo rubbed the back of his head. "Wonder if we are gonna know what these trinkets look like at first glance or if this is gonna be a needle in the hay stack type search." He asked no one in particular as he moved to the tree and worked about getting the tip of his spear from it. After a few moments of work he was able to yank it out before leaping from the tree. His semblence helping greatly as he began making foot falls for himself on the way down before finally landing both feet on the forest floor. "Now then, wonder what these things are gonna look like" he muttered breaking his spear back to it's tonfa form and giving them a little spin as he walked off into the forest.
