[Auto Exam] Very A-Mazing (Piper/Lock)

Lock squinted. That was what Piper cared about? Seriously?

He would have slapped his forehead in disappointment had the icy wind not been preventing him from doing so. He scooted ahead with Piper, forcing Voodoo into an elongated shape to act as a temporary shield from the wind.

All was well and it seemed they'd reached the end, but well, shadow twins.

"Great," he grumbled, summoning two shadows to his sides in the same way Piper held her magical water. "Shout if you need healing." He knew Piper was more than capable of taking these things down in pure sassy power, so "good luck" felt unneccessary.

Piper flashed a grin in response as she peeled away to fight her shadow. Now this was the sort of test she could get behind.

"Shadows are your deal, you got this! Shout if you need help whuppin' your own a**!" she shouted back with a laugh as she swung her jar up.

The shadow copied her, but Piper was quicker on the uptake: a barrage of projectiles, fiery since she had already conjured up some earlier and it was easier to convert into literal fire power here. They burst on impact, causing the shadow to waver before coalescing back, surging forward to strike her with her own weapon.

Lock really wondered where Piper got all that energy from.

He didn't intend to ask for her help though. Pride got in the way of teamwork; Lock was going to feel horrible if he required another person's help with his exam. It felt almost like cheating, and he wouldn't have it.

Voodoo was MORE than thrilled to have an opportunity to attack Lock. In fact, the real Lock was made slightly nauseous by her violence, knowing all too well that that really could be him. He was suddenly thankful for the power to desummon her at will.

Maybe her energy came from being such a winner~ As she clearly displayed by engaging in a spell dual with her clone. What looked like almost dance-like moves masked a concentration Piper had begun to acquire as she moved whips of water in and out like a lunging viper, crashing against the shadow's echo of magic. Blows were exchanged, but while Piper had been slapped by a whip, she felt confident she was gaining ground against her enemy.

Now really wasn't the time to play and test new things but the whip thing Piper was doing looked awesome and Lock had to try it.

It didn't do much damage, but at least it was some damage.

Noticing he was taking some pointers, she tried to be even flashier with the water whips. Instead of being competent, however, Piper ended up messing up her own rhythm, and the clone smacked her across the face with its own spell.

"Excuse me?!"

Oh it was on.

Lock dodged a shadowy Voodoo. It was incredibly annoying fighting a shadowy version of himself, because he was already a shadow guy. So now there were shadows going everywhere, and he had a difficult time telling which were his and which weren't.

Gritting his teeth, he dug his feet into the ground and pulled double time on the spells. He wasn't going to fail because of some weak doppleganger.

"Status," he demanded of Piper, more because he couldn't take his eyes off himself at the moment.

"Cooler than cool!" Piper reported as she less than cooly blasted the clone like her weapon was a high powered watergun. "Ice cold~!" alrightalrightalrightalright "I bet I can beat her a** before you beat yours!"

"Hm." That was all he said in response. A silent acceptance of the bet. Pride being the prize.

He pulled Voodoo towards him like an elastic weapon, turning her into something sharper momentarily and throwing it at the shadow Lock. They were still working out that move (Voodoo had a habit of laughing part way through and disrupting her form), but it seemed to do sufficient damage.

Piper happened to glance at him again a few moments later when the transformation happened, and her battle rhythm faltered as she observed. "Whoa." Don't get her wrong, she liked her weapon, but man double teaming an opponent looked so cool...

Lock's battle rhythm was interrupted by Piper's staring.

"What?!"

"Nothin'!" she replied airily, laughing to herself as she switched to electricity next, shocking her shadow before it too had a chance to change elements. "Boil got some moooooves is all~"

Piper's compliment had him saying, "Whatever," but even he couldn't hide the slight look of pride on his face.

It apparently caused him trouble though, because he missed. Come on Lock.

More laughter, closer to cackling. "Don't let it get to yo head now!" Piper teased. "I'm still totally winning!"

Speaking of heads--now the clone was being extremely rude and trying to match her fire power, which apparently liked to try and fly by her hair. Jack, if she got it burnt during this test, something else was going to burn.

Sometimes Lock was envious that Piper could control so many elements when he was born with the redundancy of one element.

Other times he was really glad his shadow doppleganger wasn't lobbing fire at him.

So grateful he apparently missed again LoCK WHY.
