Ellianarelle, or Ellia for short, has waist length and stick straight dark auburn hair and bright blue eyes. She has pale skin and prefers to keep it that way. She is a tall and willowy woman, standing at 5'8. She does not let her height deter her from wearing heels, either. Ellia enjoys wearing fine clothing and takes excellent care of her things so she always looks her best. She has a number of parasols to go with any outfit she may wear and can almost always be found with one.

Ellia has always been a versatile person. She enjoys acting, and doesn't mind playing whatever part is needed. This also extends to her life outside of acting. She can be whatever her loved ones might need her to be: friend, confidante, a shoulder to cry on, someone to vent to, someone to help them fight. She enjoys working with others, and prefers to be a team player rather than a solo act. When it comes to being the leader, she can take it or leave it. She will usually defer to someone with more experience, but has no problem piping up with suggestions or other options the team could work with. Ellia is usually light-hearted and enjoys playing games and having fun. She loves to laugh and flirt, though if she's seeing someone seriously she reserves her flirting for them.

Once she has her mind set on something, it's very hard to deter her from obtaining her goal. She can be extremely stubborn in pretty much anything she wants. She can be talked out of something if someone can convince her she should take another course of action but it's difficult to do so. When it comes to her looks and her clothes, Ellia is exceedingly vain. She hates to look like a mess and wakes early to get herself together to make sure she looks put together. She can be insecure about her looks and occasionally needs reassurance. She loves to be comfortable and often buys soft pillows and furs for her bed. If it feels good under her fingers, she wants it. As she's gotten older, she's learned to restrain herself but she can still be a little impulsive about it.

History

Ellia was born to an easily distracted Starcrafter mother after a fling with a visiting dragonrider. More often than not, Ellia was left to her own devices and learned to take care of herself at an early age. When she was young she read as much as she could get her hands on and often acted out her favorite scenes and songs when she was alone or with friends. This led her to wanting to become a courtesan. At twelve she left her mother to go to nearby Western Hall to learn the theater aspect of entertainment. She loved being onstage and acting out anything that was handed to her. She was 19 when she walked the tables to become a Journeyman. After that, she left the Hold to see the world. At 20, she found an entertainment troupe looking for an actress and joined immediately.

Hatchings had always been her favorite time to be at a Weyr. During her time at Western Hold she would go to see Hatchings as often as possible. With her troupe, it was harder to manage but when they were entertaining and a Hatching happened to occur, well. Ellia was there. She loved to sit in the front so she could watch everything that happened. She always liked to encourage the Candidates and coo over the dragonets. When she was 23, she had made it to the Sands late and stood around the edges to watch. Near the end of the Hatching Ellia wandered closer to better see which Candidate the newly hatched queen would choose. That was when she heard it.

Mine? What are you doing all the way over there? Ellianarelle, come to your Ashtoreth! Even as a baby, her precious dragon had an imperious air. Ellia hated to look anything less than perfectly put together but at that moment, she didn't care. She pushed her way onto the Sands as Ashtoreth bullied her way through the remaining hopefuls. She tried to be careful with her wings, but honestly she just wanted to get to hers! Later that night at the Hatching Feast, Ellia was approached by one of the boys who'd been on the sands. Well, she said 'boy' but he was likely only a few years younger than she was. He was cute, and kind, as he congratulated her on Impressing a gold. She learned his name was Navarian and they quickly became friends.

Once Ellia and Ashtoreth passed Weyrling status, the pair left to go back to Ellia's troupe with promises to keep in touch and come back for visits. At the very least she would be back for Hatchings; she wanted to be there when her friend Impressed a dragon of his own. She was there a Turn later when Navarian Impressed his brown Licerth and became N'var. She was among the first to congratulate him at the Feast and celebrated with him.

However, it wasn't until after Thread reappeared that she came home to stay, to fight. She resisted for the first couple months, taking shelter with her troupe where she could and worrying about her friend. Finally, Ashtoreth convinced her to return to the Weyr. It was their duty to help, and she knew her rider would feel better if she could keep a closer eye on N'var.

Ashtoreth is a confident queen. She might only be seven Turns old but she's confident in her ability to learn how to fight thread with her fellow queens. She's confident of her place in the Weyr and she's confident in her bond with Ellia. She just knows that she's amazing, thank you very much. But it is nice to hear sometimes, too! She doesn't like to advertise it, but she was a hopeless romantic side to her. She doesn't mind the biological aspect of her need to Rise. In fact she enjoys the attention of being chased through the sky. But she's missing the deeper connection. She wants more than just being chased, and daydreams of finding that one dragon she'd like to spend the rest of her days with. Ashtoreth loves to be "in the know." She loves to learn secrets, things not many others may know. Coming home to stay at the Weyr seven Turns after her hatching, Ashtoreth has missed a lot she needs to catch up on! But secrets are secrets, and if someone entrusts her with theirs this gold's lips are sealed. Metaphorically of course. She would only break someone's trust if she feels they may be putting themselves in danger. She wants the ones she cares about to be safe. Aside from keeping secrets, Ashtoreth is a reliable sort of dragon. She can be counted on to be on time if not early. She takes her responsibilities seriously.

Sometimes too seriously. Ashtoreth has a tendency to be a perfectionist. She wants everything to be exactly as she thinks it should be and it's hard for her to accept anything less. She can be fairly agitated if things don't go her way. Ellia is usually able to calm her down from this, if Ashtoreth is allowed to get to that point. Looks are important to this gold. While she's a romantic at heart, she's always thought of herself as ending up with a bronze. It's not so much that she thinks of everyone else (other than the more senior Golds, of course) as beneath her, but well. She is a Gold, and her Ellianarelle is the best rider. Don't they deserve the best? Of course they do. Despite being confident, Ashtoreth can be needy. Like her rider, Ashtoreth sometimes needs assurances. However she's unlikely to look for these assurances outside of Ellia at this point. Perhaps when she finds her love she'll turn to them for assurances as well. She enjoys being the center of attention, which was one of the reasons she was happy to be in her rider's entertainment troupe.

Vanaryn is short at 5'0. Her skin is a dark brown and her short, curly hair is black. Her eyes are a pale honey brown. She loves to wear looser clothing, and the less fabric the better. She wears heels as often as she can. Her favorite color to wear is green, partially in honor of her beloved green dragon, Anath.

Personality

Vanaryn loves kids, and loves taking care of kids. It's partly why she's had four of them and is currently fostering a fifth for a very good friend (one time lover and father of her eldest child) as he feels he is unable to care for the young boy due to being injured when caught out in Thread. She's very caring toward children and young people in general, and tends to mother anyone younger than she is. She tries to control it, but sometimes she just can't help herself. Collars should be straight! In addition to being highly maternal, Vanaryn's protective streak is at least 10 gold-lengths wide. She is extremely protective of those close to her as well as pretty much any child she comes across. This also extends to her fellow wingriders, and of course her home and the people who count on her as one of the many who keep Western and Pern safe from Thread. She's a very affectionate woman who always has a hug available. She tends to warm touches on shoulders or backs when she talks to people. She is also usually very friendly to everyone she meets, smiling and asking after their loved ones if she knows them that well.

Despite her maternal instincts, Vanaryn is afraid of commitment when it comes to romance. Kids? Awesome. Life-long soul-deep bond with a dragon? Perfect. Trusting another human being with her heart? No, thanks anyway. This fear of commitment is why Vanaryn is not with the father of her eldest child. It's why she's never stayed with anyone for longer than a few months. As for the fathers of her children if they wish to be part of their lives that's fine. But it won't be as her romantic partner. She can be very impulsive. Usually this presents in buying little gifts for her kids, but also extends to her personal choices. She is able to control her impulsiveness when it comes to her job. This trait of hers shows up most often in her frequent bed partners. She believes in "free love" and doesn't mind flings that don't last long. In fact, that is generally her preference as she'd rather not be tied down. Though, there is one exception to that rule...

History

Vanaryn was born to a pair of dragon riders and raised in the creche at Western Weyr. She always knew she wanted to be a dragon rider, but she wanted something to do while she waited to be old enough to stand. Something she could do after she found her life-mate. So when she was eight, she left Western and went to Harper Hall to learn what she could. Not long after she arrived in the craft hall, she met a boy a couple Turns older than her named Jacepi. The two became fast friends and he showed her all around the Hall. She quickly learned she wasn't a great singer, but she has long fingers suited to playing a gitar and did so very well. She also is passably good at making instruments and enjoys the process. Her favorites to make are gitars and drums.

Vanaryn stayed at Harper Hall from the time she was eight until she was fourteen. During that time, she and Jacepi became very close friends. As she grew older, she developed a crush on her friend. One night, when she was thirteen and he was fifteen, while they were practicing together for a small event where the apprentices were to perform Jacepi gave her his prized set of pipes. She stared at them for a moment before throwing her arms around his neck in a hug and kissed him. Her first kiss. From that night on, they were something of an item though it didn't go much farther than innocent kisses and hand-holding.

She had never kept it secret that her dream was to be a dragon rider. At fourteen Turns, finally old enough to stand, Vanaryn went home to become a candidate. For five Turns she stood at every Hatching. She missed Jacepi, and sent letters often. It wasn't until she was nineteen Turns that she Impressed the most perfect little green dragonet ever. She spent the next Turn putting theory into practice as she cared for her dragon. Once she was no longer a Weyrling, Vanaryn took Anath back to Harper Hall to meet Jacepi who'd become a journeyman while she was gone. She was so excited for him, and happy to be back at Harper Hall. She was happy that Anath approved of this Harper, though the green would only tolerate losing so much of her rider's attention. Vanaryn often invited Jacepi to spend time with her in Anath's weyr.

About a Turn later, when Vanaryn was 21, she walked the tables and became a journeyman. Jacepi had stayed the night with Vanaryn the night before, celebrating her achievement. When the sun rose, so had Anath. Despite being an affection green, Anath only rose a couple times a Turn. Vanaryn usually locked herself in her room during these Flights, letting Anath have her fun. But this time was different. She was in love and she wanted this with Jacepi. But about a month later when she began to experience symptoms of pregnancy, she became scared. She left.

She went back to Western and gave birth to her first child, Jarah. After the birth, she finally sent a letter to Jacepi telling him he was a father and that he could come meet his son if he wanted. The first few times they saw each other, they fought. There'd been yelling, tears. Things were said that were regretted later. For a while, they had a kind of shared custody. Jacepi came to visit when he could and sometimes Vanaryn would take Jarah to stay at the Harper Hall with his father. But they both became busy; Jacepi with his work as a journeyman and Vanaryn with training, drills, and her aspirations to be an Assistant Candidatemaster.

Her love life was never the same after she left Jacepi. She had lovers, but none she was serious about. Few lasted longer than a few sevendays, though she did have three more children after Jarah she was not in love with any of their fathers. Now she fights Thread and cares for her children, two of whom have decided to become Candidates. She dreams of making up with Jarah's father, even now that she's fostering the son he had with another woman.

Physical Description

Anath is one of, if not the, smallest greens in the Weyr but this does not faze her in the least. Her limbs are little shorter than most greens and her neck and tail are proportional to the rest of her. She's the same shade of green all over.

Personality

It takes a lot to ruffle this dragon's metaphorical feathers, and she is usually the calm counterpoint to her rider's impulsiveness. She doesn't get angry easily, but she will not tolerate a threat to her rider or her rider's hatchlings or to young of any species. While she is calm on most days, she can be a fierce sight in the sky while Thread is falling. Like her rider, Anath loves the little ones be they human or dragon. This green loves to be around the younger generations. She loves to watch them learn and to gently nudge them in the right directions and when they make mistakes, Anath will be there to lean on. She has always been particularly fond of her rider's little ones. She seems to be a child magnet and doesn't mind one bit. She loves to play games with them and with her rider. One of her favorite things to do during free time is aerial stunts with Vanaryn.

She may seem demure but she loves to be the center of someone's attention, and even better if it's more than one someone! Anath enjoys being complimented and is good at fishing for said compliments - from anyone. She's also not above showing off to gain attention. While she loves attention, this green has a short attention span and is very fickle with her romantic emotions. She enjoys Flights for both the attention and the variety of suitors she can choose from. Anath is not the kind of dragon who likes to deny herself anything. An extra wherry if she's feeling peckish, sleeping in if she and Vanaryn don't have to be anywhere, things like that.

Taieni is a no holds barred kind of woman. She has a tendency to be blunt and is unapologetic about it. She's nosy and has no problem asking questions that might be personal, but she also has no problem being told to mind her own business. She loves to laugh and loves to hang out with her friends. She would die to protect the ones she cares about and to protect her and Ryneth's home. Despite her love of enjoying herself, Taieni will never balk at her responsibilities. On the surface, she's made of steel and nothing bothers her. But beneath this exterior is a vulnerable core that she's never let anyone see. Well, anyone except Ryneth.

History

Born in a small hold under High Reaches' protection, Taieni was always underfoot. She wanted to see what was going on and know everything that was happening. She knew who her parents were, but never really knew them as people. The product of a one night stand, Taieni was an unwelcome surprise to her mother so instead of keeping her Taieni was sent to the creche and grew up in the midst of everything. Which suited her just fine. She never felt the compulsion to learn one single craft, so instead she learned a little about a lot of crafts from anyone she could get to teach her. She was Searched at the age of fourteen, and was eager to go and learn about dragons. She continued her tendency to be underfoot and to learn everything she possibly could from everyone around her. Taieni was a candidate for six turns before finding the one being she would spend the rest of her life with. Such a tiny woman Impressing a large brown sparked some curiousity and little derision, but Taieni faced it all with a grin and made sure that Ryneth knew there was absolutely nothing wrong with him and he was perfect. She's always been proud of her darling Ryneth and would never do anything to hurt him. A couple Turns after she Impressed Ryneth, the pair left High Reaches to see what else there was in the world. They were happy as rogues, making marks where they could with Taieni as a jack-of-all-trades. But when Thread returned they knew they needed to go back home and fulfill their duty to their home Weyr.

A softer personality than his rider, Ryneth is quiet and usually keeps to himself aside from his few friends. He knows they are duty-bound to their Weyr and would not risk leaving even if Taieni were thinking of doing so, despite his preference of being on his own with his rider. He tends to stay back and observe instead of charging in half-cocked. He is kind to everyone he meets, though perhaps not overly friendly. He'd rather make friends than make enemies and what better way to do that than by being kind? When he loves, it is fiercely. When he is stirred to fight, as for Threadfall, he fights fiercely and will do everything in his power to protect their home. He enjoys the flights of golds and greens but as yet has not settled down and isn't likely to, much like his rider. He is known to be affectionate after victorious flights but no one's ever caught his attention for longer than that. He tends to let the world go on around him, content to watch the goings-on. He isn't the kind to fight for himself, as words are simply noises he can filter out. Taieni assures him daily he is perfect, so anything else doesn't even c***k his armor. He is a possessive dragon: of his rider and their time together, and if there does come to be someone who captures his heart he would be possessive of them, too.

Rakhem is tall and slender, but muscular. He keeps his reddish brown hair long and wears it loose. He keeps a small goatee on his chin. He prefers loose clothing in neutral colors, but his prized possession is a dark red coat with silver buttons and toggles.

Personality

Rakhem is much more used to being on his own. Living in a Weyr and having to deal with other people on a daily basis wears him out every day. He keeps to himself, preferring the company of Oolath to most people. At night, he sleeps outside with Oolath when he can and on rainy nights when he must retreat to his weyr his sleep is fitful. He doesn't speak often, and when he does it's in a softer tone. Most others find him odd, especially given his love of tea and dislike of klah. He is a Grade A Procrastinator and often waits until the last minute to do things he's been assigned to do. Or, really, anything. He's moody and can often swing between extremes. Most of the time the swings are internal and not everyone realizes there's even been a change in him. Oolath always knows. He is easily discouraged and disappointed. It doesn't take much to completely ruin his day, though Oolath has been working on this with him.

History

Rakhem was born and raised at Western Weyr. He'd always had an eye for what things were worth and would always be pestering the traders when they came to visit. He made friends with the leader of one group and she let him tag along when they left for other places. It was during his travels with the traders that he was introduced to tea. He made it his goal to learn all he could about the leaves and the delicious drink they made. One turn when he was nineteen, they came back to Western close to Hatching time. Rakhem was in the stands watching when it happened. My name is Oolath, and you are Mine! His life was forever changed, and for the better. They stayed at the Weyr for a few turns, but they wanted to explore. He took up an occupation as a lone tea trader and worked his way up until he was known for his blends. The pair were at High Reaches when Thread returned. Rakhem wanted to flee to safety when the menace had stopped falling, but Oolath put her rather large foot down. She wanted this to be the next part in their adventure, and eventually Rakhem gave in to her desire to stay. Used to the more lax practices at Western and being on his own with his dragon, the strictness of High Reaches often grates on Rakhem but he sucks it up.

Oolath loves love. All kinds of love. She enjoys flirting with everyone she meets, and views it almost as a game. She wants to know how others will respond to her flirting. Will they blush? Will they smile but politely ignore it? Will they flirt back? It's delightful to this dragon! She enjoys taking flight, loving to be the center of such attention. She has no problems choosing more than one winner, as long as all involved are amenable. She is highly protective of her rider and their new home. When they were younger, she loved their adventures but now every day in a Weyr is an adventure! She finds smaller things to stick her snout into and views each new relationship as a step in their journey. But she is also a busybody. She wants to know everything and doesn't mind imposing herself in situations to learn whatever is going on. She enjoys gossiping with others, seeing how everyone else reacts to what may or may not be going on in the Weyr. Oolath loves to indulge in her personal pleasures, whether it's soaking in a lake or rolling around in sand or enjoying physical affection of any kind with her rider or another dragon. Her very favorite thing to indulge in is getting her hide oiled in something that smells pleasant.
