PostPosted: Fri Feb 17, 2017 6:43 pm
Name: Rhiyn
Age: 16 turns
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Weyrbrat
Rank: Candidate
Location: High Reaches
Physical Description: Rhiyn has a small, lithe form. He could easily be mistaken for a female, if it weren't for his usual stance. He is scarcely 5'1; and he stands up to his inches. All of them; because when you don't have many to spare, you need every inch to prove your worth. He is slender and has delicate facial features on a sharply shaped face. His hair is a curly mass of black-brown, and he is tan. Freckles adorn his nose and cheeks. His blue eyes stand out in his tanned face, making them appear larger than they are.

Personality: Rhiyn wants you to know that you are flawed. In far more ways than he is. This candidate believes he is perfection personified, and nothing any dimglow says is going to change his opinion. This overzealous, confident boy believes he knows the answer to everything. Unless, you know, there's a pretty girl in his vicinity. He seems to clam up, then, unsure what to say. He may stumble over his words if he tries to talk to her; but it's more likely that he'll run off to bother someone else.

He takes great pleasure in correcting those around him. He loves poking holes in people's logic. He loves to tease. He has a sense of humor and enjoys laughing with people as much as he does laughing at them.

Rhiyn isn't very good when it comes to sharing his emotions. He tends to close himself off, keeping his feelings internal. When his foster brother, G'ret died during Threadfall eight months ago, this became even more apparent. Rhiyn will not speak of G'ret. He seems to become angry whenever his foster brother is mentioned; but really, it's his way of coping. His irritability is driven by grief. He was always particularly close to G'ret, rather than his milk mother. G'ret was six turns his senior and Rhiyn was in awe of him.

It took three days for Rhiyn to accept that G'ret was gone.

Rhiyn is well aware that he's only sixteen turns old. While he prefers to think he knows everything, there are many things he doesn't understand. Why Thread had to come back. Death. Why the sun comes up in the same spot every morning when you feel like all Pern's ending. It terrifies him to admit that. Thread terrifies him.

He seems especially close to Demanthra (Dea) and opens up to her more than he does most. They're close friends currently, but at sixteen turns old, who knows where their relationship will go?

Rhiyn a sweet young man, if a bit vain and cowardly. R'yn is young, and he knows that. He will sometimes use his youth to his advantage--but it is more likely to be against him, he feels.
Positive Trait List playful, loving, humorous,
Negative Trait List vain, tactless, keeps things to himself, trouble sharing emotions, trouble accepting own emotions
History: Rhiyn was born to a bronze rider and a greenrider as result of a flight. He was quickly fostered to Fovila, a woman who had a son close to his own age. The younger two were only months apart. However, he was closer to his elder foster brother, G'ret.
His childhood went by without much incident; Rhiyn grew strong (but not very big), as G'ret liked to say. He did make friends, but there was one in particular of note; Rhiyn met Demanthra when he was six turns old. They were both weyrbrats. Demanthra was two turns his senior, and so talented! Meeting Demanthra, while she was playing her pipe, he was filled with admiration for the older girl. It awoke a love for music that the Weyrharper's teaching tunes couldn't satisfy. Demanthra taught him to employ that love.

Rhiyn's love for music is no secret, but he likes to behave as if it is. His foster mother encouraged his love of it, but couldn't demonstrate. She was tone deaf and though she sang--her foster son preferred her not to. While he loves music, he never desired to become a harper.

His foster brother Impressed the first time he stood, to a bronze named Aplaisth. He'd been thrilled for G'ret! Thrilled! And--maybe a little envious. He wa twelve when his brother Impressed, and in absolute awe of him.

It didn't help that G'ret went out of his way to impress his brother. Once Aplaisth was old enough, he took his younger brother out (or up) as often as he was able.

Eight months ago, Thread returned, and with it, it took Rhiyn's brother. He remembered the scream from Aplaisth before they went between. Rhiyn has had a difficult time with his grief since, struggling to verbally express how he feels.

Candidate Specific Questions
Do you want them to have an official Search RP? No
Do you understand they will age every passing year regardless if you're there to RP the or not? Yes
Do you want them to have a possible Stands Impression? No
- - - > Please keep in mind that Stands Impressions are very rare. This means that not everybody will get an opportunity to have a surprise Impression, and you lower your chances of being picked by a dragonet. Given the character is not ICly an official Candidate, they will need a reason to be at the Weyr of their choice long-term, or at least for every Hatching.

Name: Melira
Age: 14
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Weyrbrat
Rank: Weyrbrat
Location: High Reaches
Physical Description:
Personality: Appearing lazy and somewhat of a ditz, Melira does the bare minimum when it comes to candidate chores. Honestly, she'd like to do nothing more than spend time outside, with her companions or by herself. Not the brightest glow in the basket, she often has trouble when it comes to comprehending someone's meaning, but this doesn't keep her from spreading what she believes said person meant. This will probably improve with age; being fourteen, one can hardly expect her to understand everything. She loves to talk. About herself; or about someone else, it doesn't particularly matter.

She loves being around people, but doesn't mind spending time on her own. During these times she daydreams, or puts her vivid imagination to work. She is quite talented at weaving stories together, but rarely does so for others. In recent months, she's thought about how the Weyr was before the return of Thread. People werent living in fear; they were happier then. People weren't dying.

Sometimes, she isn't very attentive, and tends to be easily distracted. Any noise during lessons and her focus is immediately on whatever it was that made the noise.

She dawdles, she procrastinates. She's a bit of an attention seeker.

Melira, despite her flaws, tends to be loyal to those she considers friends. If any one of them is ever in need, she will jump up to assist. Helping friends is one of the few things Melira does not consider work. She sets her lazy behavior aside to pitch in, and will actively defend a friend (at least verbally) if ever needed. She feels if she helps out, she will get the same in return, if ever needed. She is an extrovert, seeking out social situations at all times; and playful to a fault.

Being a story teller causes Melira to be a bit of a romantic. Rather, a hopeless romantic. She loves it, she thrives on it. She enjoys hearing about it; she pays attention to which dragon flew which, and their riders, if their names are present in conversation. When she puts her mind to it, she can be empathic; and recently, she's learned, she can sympathize with people. She is more interested in watching stories play out; being a firm believer that all people have a part to play.

Positive Trait List Loyal, believes all people are important / "Tell their own stories", creative, helpful, empathic
Negative Trait List Attention seeking, bit of a ditz, dimglowed, talks too much, distractable, procrastinates; typical teenage girl
History: Melira was born to a blue and green rider pair in High Reaches and did not have a a very exciting childhood. She was placed in the crèche as soon as she could be; her mother had lost interest in raising a child after a few days of the babe's colicky cries. She wasn't really a part of Melira's life: and while L'mul, the Weyrsinger, took an interest in teaching her tunes she wasn't exactly the most focused in his classes. She was slower to pick up instruments than most, L'mul had lamented, but has had no trouble after that. She prefers pipes.

She was fostered by a kitchen worker when she was a turn and a half. The woman had been a candidate in her youth, but had failed to Impress. She'd never left the Weyr. She encouraged Melira, but having no children of her own, wasn't entirely sure how to handle the child.

It was Thread that shook this girl to the core. Thread returned when she was thirteen turns old, just eight months ago, and took her father along with it when it left. She hadn't been particularly close to him, having grown up in the crèche. But he, unlike her mother, had sought to spend his free time with his daughter. He'd given her gifts, he'd told jokes; he'd been there, even if he hadn't raised her. She couldn't help but expect him to come talk to her, for him to come spend time with her--no, he was gone.

She lost interest in her studies. She became lazy. It hurt. She'd never imagined something like this. It became easier to tell stories than to dwell on reality.

Name: Jakkin
Age: 14
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Weavercraft
Rank: Apprentice
Location: High Reaches
Physical Description: Jakkin is tall for fourteen turns, and relatively bony. He has few distinguishing features. He has a bony oval shaped face that he's rather proud of; he has bony hands. He is tan with dark brown hair. He has an air of someone who is very careful about his appearance. He seems to have custom made the majority of his clothing quite some time ago. There have been small repairs and a few are becoming threadbare in some areas--it seems he's always working on improving them with left over scraps.
Personality: Tending to be distant, this isn't exactly the type of boy you'd want to run up to and befriend. Half of the time, he ignores the majority of people - and when he doesn't, you'll wish he had. He has a bad habit of pointing people's flaws and weaknesses out to them, and if anyone ever criticizes him he either takes it with a silent shrug or seems to ignore them. Most of this socially unacceptable behavior is his way of entertaining himself, and seeing what kind of person someone is.

He seems to have no tact; he has no concept of keeping his opinions and ideas to himself, if he feels like sharing them. Jakkin has built an impenetrable wall around himself and his feelings - reinforced with an unfriendly demeanor.

What really captures Jakkin's interest is a conversation that he can pick holes into. If you're talking plans and they don't add up, this boy will be there to point them out for you. In an attempt to make conversation more interesting for him, Jakkin will often form stories to tell others. Whether true or false, you won't be able to tell. He can weave a story as well as any harper. Maybe he should have been one. He has a sense of humor that isn't often seen--he will be caught chuckling at other's flaws quite often. They seem to amuse him.

Since attempting to connect with people, Jakkin has shown a slow, but terrible temper. While he prefers to act as though nothing bothers him, there are times when he will fly off the handle, indulging in fits of rage brought about by rather unpredictable mood-swings. These are verbal (he is not physical in his anger whatsoever, with the exception of animatedly moving his arms and gesturing wildly) and he will fuss later on to Viorica. Often the moods of others amuse him; he feels he can play anyone as easily as he can mend a hem.

There is a startling difference between Jakkin's neat appearance and his alcove in the candidate barracks. Though his small space has few personal items, there always seems to be something on the floor. Patterns and old scraps of previous projects. Charcoal and used hide litter his cot when he's not sleeping there. If ever asked, Jakkin would claim the mess helps with his ability to think. He won't thank anyone for cleaning it--he wants it that way, thank you very much. He knows exactly where everything is.

Jakkin is a private person. He doesn't want others knowing what he's really thinking or feeling at any given time. He'll force a smile and say that he's feeling great, thank you for asking. He's just fine sitting here alone.

Jakkin, despite his unfriendly demeanor, seems to be indifferent to most people. If there is genuine dislike, he will make it known through his silences. He will take the time to argue with those he is indifferent to--or respects; those he does not, he will pointedly ignore. He seems to prefer some people over others and animatedly will bicker with them. Small things, mostly. He isn't really angry. It's playful.

Despite this tendency for affectionate bickering, this man also tends to be protective of his best friend. Not so much that it shows itself physically; but certainly to a point where he will defend them verbally.
History: History: Born to successful weavercrafters at High Reaches Weyr, even as a small boy, Jakkin was aware that he was special. He was an only child, and his parents doted on him in any spare moment. They encouraged him to grasp at his talents (especially in their own craft) as well as to socialize with other children. The latter didn't go as planned.

He was fostered (and apprenticed) to a master weaver at the age of ten turns. He quickly took to the craft like a firelizard takes to the air; excelling in the simplest of projects, moving on to more difficult ones early in his apprenticeship. He soon realized his ability. His ego hit an all time high, after a few turns. He could only take so much praise before it went to his head. It was at this time that he withdrew further from the average person, preferring to associate only with those he felt suited to someone of his skill.

His plans were changed at the age of fourteen. A bluerider came to speak with his master while the boy had been finishing an embroidery under the man's watchful eye. The bluerider's dragon took an interest in the apprentice, and Jakkin accepted immediately; promising himself that if he did not Impress, he would become the master he'd always planned on being. If he did Impress--he would be the greatest dragonrider Pern'd ever seen!

Candidate Specific Questions
Do you want them to have an official Search RP? No need (heart)
Do you understand they will age every passing year regardless if you're there to RP them or not? Yes
Do you want them to have a possible Stands Impression? No

Name: Jailla
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Starcraft
Rank: Weyrling
Location: Western
Physical Description: Long, straight, copperish red hair; freckles and a deep tan. Her eyes are a mixture of green and blue, and almond shaped. She's thin, and has a small bone structure. Has the appearance of someone fragile. She seems to get injured rather often; bruising easily. She seems to hide her face with her hair; when faced with someone she doesn't know well.
Personality: Jailla is quietly spunky and firey; like a fire started in a forest people haven't yet seen. She can be shy but more recently she's become confident with meeting new people as long as she's prepared for it. Meeting someone unexpectedly will throw her off guard, especially if physically bummed into. She will hastily apologize and hurry to finish whatever she was doing--in the opposite direction.

This candidate loves stargazing. She was an apprentice, learning to chart stars when she was Searched by a friendly brownrider at the age of sixteen. When she first stood, it was a small clutch of ten; she was disappointed, but not entirely dismayed. She decided to remain at the Weyr rather than return home, hoping that eventually, she might Impress. An intelligent girl, but focused too much on her studies instead of social activity.

She may need encouragement from others before joining a large group. Jailla feels most comfortable one on one with someone, and shies away from crowds.

Jailla seems to have a slight fear of tunnelsnakes. And a fear of losing those she cares about. She has a strong desire to befriend folks, but seems to struggle with summoning enough courage to start a conversation that's more substantial than small talk. She may watch them from afar, hopeful. Hopefully she learns that to have her feelings returned, she must first make a show of said emotions. So far however, she hasn't seemed to grasp that concept.

Once Jailla befriends someone, sheis easily fooled, trusting them in just about anything--the first time. She has the natural expectation that people tell the truth. Once someone betrays that trust, she withdraws from the relationship.

Clumsy, she tends to bruise from tripping or bumping into something . She falls back onto her buttom often, but never makes an issue of it. These clumsy moments are best ignored. The candidate is aware (and embarassed) of her lack of grace.

Positive Trait List Intelligent, curious, observant
Negative Trait List shy, quiet, driven by emotion, focuses too much on studies
History: Jailla was born into a well to do family of crafters, and at eight turns old, began her own studies as a Starcrafter. Her parents were thrilled when they saw how much she delighted in it and encouraged her every chance they got. She would do well, of course.

And she did do well, until she was searched at sixteen. Her father in particular was disappointed. Dragons were for tourists! There was no real use for them now, they were no different than any pack animal now. Jailla loved the Weyr, though. She wrote regularly, talking of chores and having helped a rider scrub their dragon--and her father calmed. Jailla was happy. That was the important thing, as long as she kept up her studies.

Jailla stood for her first hatching soon after she was Searched, and didn't Impress. Standing had been nerve wracking, she'd been more concerned with the people watching than what the dragons thought; they were beautiful creatures, the dragons. She decided to stay after that hatching, to hopefully Impress.

A turn after she'd arrived at the Weyr, Thread returned. Deep fear ran through her; the fear of losing her family. She contacted them immediately with the aid of a friend's firelizard.

The return letter was such a relief. They were alright. Their crops and the tools they'd left outside the hall were gone, but those were replaceable. And they wanted her to stay at the Weyr, where she could learn to fight Thread.

Blue Micheth
Written by Masterharper
Colored by Mx Cherie

User Image

Origin of Name: Micheth is named after another name given to the Yeti -- the Tibetan name Michê. This name translates into "man bear".

Inspiration: The Yeti has long been a revered figure in Himalayan mythology that predates Buddhism. The various peoples inhabiting Tibet and Nepal do not see the Yeti as a proto-human type of creature but instead a man-like animal that seems to exist with supernatural powers. The Yeti is sometimes called the Abominable Snowman.

Yeti's are incredibly aloof and difficult to track. They are thought to be large in size, strong, and covered in fur. The fur is not actually white -- many consider Yeti's to have brown or red fur, similar to the North American monster, Big Foot. Some believe them to be nocturnal and solitary, while others believe them to live in hidden groups.

In some legends, the Yeti is thought to be able to fly in the air, kidnap young women to rear their young, throw stones, and maraud local livestock. It's also thought to have the ability to appear and disappear at will, instead of being found through tracking.

Personality: Micheth is one of the quiet dragons of this clutch. Unlike some of his siblings, he is not overly protective or some sort of guard -- no, instead, Micheth is simply quiet because he tends not to have much to say. Even from an early age, this dragon will be all sorts of serious -- there is much going on in the world, and this blue is a bit overly serious. While some of his clutchsiblings might pull pranks and practical jokes, Micheth finds little humor in such games. They should be focused on their studies, and their skills, not goof off! Thread is falling, and they have much to do to protect Pern. He isn't always a stick in the mud -- with his rider's encouragement, he will find games he enjoys, and certain dragons will be able to draw out a more relaxed side of the blue. He will never be the life of the party, but he's okay with that!

Micheth is a thoughtful dragon and a deep thinker. This adds to his quiet stoicism -- while some might expect an answer or retort right away, Micheth will carefully consider his words before answering. Some of his more impatient clutchsibs might not appreciate it, but his answers are always well thought out, and never rushed. On top of being a deep thinker, Micheth can be thoughtful and considerate -- he will think of others needs, particularly that of his riders, and try to ensure she is never lacking in want.

Though his clutchsibs might grow impatient with him, Micheth does not have much of a temper. He is incredibly patient, and does not give in to anger and rage like some of his hot-headed siblings. He knows how to wait, and will do so as long as is necessary. Patience is a virtue, and this blue has been blessed with it in droves. While others might fly off the handle, this blue is tried and true; there is no reason to rush, they will get what they need in due time.

Micheth isn't always the easiest of reads. He tends not to put his feelings on display, and won't often delve into how things affect him. His stoicism comes from a need to be watchful, but also cautious -- he won't put his heart on display for just anyone, thank you. And he won't let his rider be taken advantage of, either. He will be cautious bout change, and tends to disapprove of rushing into anything. This blue is not a risk taker, and would much rather rely on the tried-and-true. You won't find him sticking his neck out for anyone!

Despite all this, Micheth is a good blue, and he will be supportive of his friends, and most of all, his rider. Their hopes, their dreams, their desires -- Micheth will be there to ensure they get it all. They will be unwavering in their loyalty, always ready to give a word of encouragement, love, or understanding.

Positive Traits: Supportive, Patient, Thoughtful
Negative Traits: Stoic, Cautious, Serious

Adult Size: 31'
Physical Attributes: Micheth is on the larger side for a blue. He will always have exceptionally large hands and feet, and while he will grow into them a bit more by age, they will always be just a bit too big for the rest of him. While this can make him clumsy on the ground -- especially as a weyrling -- it is useful when he's hunting. His wings are large, and though he is not as agile as some of his smaller kin, he makes up with it with decent stamina.

If he's a bit on the plump side, that can't be helped. It's a mix of muscle and fat -- if his rider lets him gorge, he'll tend more towards plumpness; if he's more active, than he'll tend towards the leaner side.

Micheth enjoys Nzambith's company, and tends to disapprove highly of Hessianth and Fantoth's games. He is also close to Taivshath, as he does not mind her quiet and distant nature.

Additional Notes: Micheth absolutely adores the snow. He is quite jealous of those in High Reaches who get proper winters, and will love to take trips to the snow covered peaks when he's an adult. There are some places in the Western Continent that occasionally get snow, and you can bet Micheth will be there! He prefers cold weather to the summertime heat.

Additionally, he'll love to feast on caprines more than herdbeasts and wherries. While he'll eat anything, caprines are definitely his favorite! He may not find this out until later, as most of the meat suppled to the Weyr is often herdbeast.

Theme Song: Lean on Me - Bill Whithers

Why Me? Micheth is not like some of his louder or more aggressive siblings, and Jaila is the one he was searching for all along. Where she is fire, he is ice, and he will be her steadfast and fearless champion. Should she stumble, he will be there to pick her up; should she fear company, he will wrap around her and keep her safe; while she yearns to be sociable, he'll sit on the sidelines with her until she's comfortable and ready to get out there. Jaila has nothing to fear with Micheth because, chances are, he's already thought about all the dangers or surprises, and has prepared for it -- he's too cautious to let her go running off ahead, and has already made contingency plans should anything go awry.

This pair is a safe pair, full of understanding and support. They both have their own fears, and will be able to lean on one another when life gets overwhelming. Micheth appreciates that Jaila knows when to retreat from a bad situation, and will shield her from any repercussions; likewise, Jaila's hidden spunk and desire to be close to others might force Micheth off the sidelines and into the fray. Wherever Jaila goes, Micheth will always quietly follow.

Name: Silvie (Silvina)
Age: Three Turns
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Oooh, what's that? (Undecided)
Craft: Weyrbrat
Rank: Cutest toddler in all Pern? (Weyrbrat)
Location: High Reaches
Physical Description: Silvie has blond hair that's taken the majority of three turns to grow properly. It's barely past her ears and curls at the ends, towards her chin. She hasn't quite lost that baby fat appearance, her face is round and her eyes are blue and prominent. She's got a natural pinkness to her cheeks and hands, but is pale in color. She's rather small for her age.

Personality: Silvie, at three turns old, believes she's very grown up, thank you very much. She doesn't say as much, but she seems to, with her independent demeanor. She doesn't want help, no, she can get that herself, no really, if she pushes this stool over there she can reach what she's after. This toddler doesn't need any help. Being tiny is difficult for anyone, but it doesn't seem to hinder her ability to climb up onto things she ought not to.

She takes great care in providing things to those she cares about; which tends to be anyone the toddler spends time with. Whether it be a particularly pretty stone or a homemade mud pie, the person receiving the gift should at least pretend to be grateful. She's very proud of these gifts, and will occasionally want to exchange them--maybe for sweets, maybe for hugs. She's not picky.

Silvie is still having trouble remembering to use her words. She tugs on sleeves or on pant legs for attention, and struggles with constructing longer sentences. She loves to hum along with music, and to dance.

More recently, Silvie has been showing signs of separation anxiety. She doesn't like being alone, and especially not away from Mennick. She will, in any situation, begin to cry if unable to spot him for prolonged periods.

History: Silvie was born to two unknown Weyrfolk; refugees? Dragonriders? No one claimed her. She seems to have lost them about eight months ago when Thread fell. The toddler was dirty, lost, scared and wandering when Mennick found her. It took only days for her attachment to him to become apparent; she'd been scared, and he'd been there.

No one looked for her, the mindhealer tried to find her family to no avail. No one seemed to know where she'd come from. At just two, the toddler hadn't been able to understand the situation fully; her parents were gone. She hadn't provided a name, so Mennick's brother did. His poor sense of humor played a part in it; Silvina. Thread was silver.

She followed Mennick home, and eventually, became a permanent member of their family.
Other: Melo is 100% at fault for this.

Name: Trisa
Age: Five turns
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: She's not entirely sure what's meant by that. (Boys are GROSS)
Craft: Weyrbrat
Rank: Weyrbrat
Location: High Reaches
Physical Description: Trisa has dark coppery locks that run in waves down her shoulders. She has freckles that line her face and arms, with blue eyes. She's rather tall for her age. Being tall, she could be mistaken for a child slightly older than she is.

Trisa is most often dressed in handsewn dresses. These are brightly colored, but simple.
Personality: She is an attention hog, tends to be easily distracted, and has limitless amounts of energy at all times. She is overconfident and seems to believe that she's invincible. This makes the five turn old a bit of a pest. There's nothing this girl can't do; at least according to her. If she sets her mind to it, there's no changing it, even if she plans to do something ridiculous. She tends to be possessive of both person and thing.

She charms people quite easily. She is powered by her emotions, however. She isn't very logical. If something upsets her, well, everyone's going to know it. She likes to help make people happy, too. To cheer them up, to make them smile. Especially her foster parents and brother, Lial.

She is easily fooled, trusting just about anything people tell her. She has the natural expectation that people tell the truth, all the time. If someone tells her there's a wher under her cot, she believes them, but instead of being frightened like one would expect a child of her age, she will undoubtedly search for it. She is also extremely impatient. She has the bad habit of twitching, bouncing, tapping--movement in general when she is irritated, bored, or something didn't happen at the time she would have liked (or soon enough). She is loyal to a fault, often being defensive of friends at awkward times and judging others by how they have treated them.

This trust in people may lead to problems in the future. As for now, she lives under her foster parents' influence and guidance.

Clumsy and excitable, Trisa's knees are usually bruised from tripping. She falls back onto her bottom often, but never makes an issue of it. These clumsy moments are best ignored.

She tends to be extremely imaginative. Maybe she actually believes in the stories she comes up with, she seems to have utmost faith in stories woven by her foster-father.
Positive Trait List confident, charming, likes to make people happy
Negative Trait List gullible, clumsy, over confident
History: Trisa was born to a kitchen worker and a brownrider, but the woman didn't last very long after birth. Her father wanted very little to do with her, it'd been her mother that he'd loved. She was sent to the crèche immediately; but Owara, who also worked in the kitchens, took an interest in her. They fostered her as soon as they could; and with her so close to Lial's age, she seemed to fit perfectly.

She was spoiled. Their family was full of boys, and she was the only girl. Not that her brothers weren't as equally spoiled. No, L'mul and Owara seemed to love their children, fostered or not, equally.

Threadfall disrupted the peaceful life this weyrbrat had been blessed with. She'd only heard stories about it; but she was too young to really understand the devastation it caused in reality. People came to the Weyr, people who had fled Thread or lost their homes. They didn't smile. A lot of them... She wasn't sure they ever would.
