A man in his young twenties with a muscular build wandered into the sidelines of the arena. He stood at just over six feet tall and looked rather calm for someone so close to a fight, but the array of blades he carried was impressive and intimidating enough in its own right. This was the man known as Knives, the long-time Jounin of Sunagaure who had participated in pitched combat in Rouran, among other battles. After looking at the combatants for a moment, he concluded he'd made a wrong turn at some point and turned to leave.
Then he exploded. A tidal wave of sand burst forth from him as a high-pitched cackle drowned out even the fighting already going on. The sand billowed outward and upward in a plume that reached almost up to the ceiling of the arena. As the cloud solidified into the towering shape of a tanuki, the sands of the combat arena would turn against the participants, whipping up into a fierce sandstorm around the beast. The creature's roar would turn into a wave of Chakra that swept across the arena, whipping dust and debris up into a frenzy.

The moment the girl made some weird frenzied moves within the cocoon, Atsuma used his temporary body paralysis on her, but was taken back by a sudden explosion of energy. The wave was so strong it even destroyed his shadow clone. "Oh dear." He said while his body flew backwards due to an apparent shock wave. Then he saw it. The beast in all it's glory. Atsuma would have to go away for a while.
Toya's eyes sharpened. He had no idea what he was looking at, but it didn't seem like a part of the tournament. "I was about to end it all!" He shouted. His voice drowned out by the monster's cackling. Using the Kamikazi Unit Part II he had created earlier without actually detonating the boy would launch them at the creature now. Performing more hand seals the boy would create a large tornado above the beast completely surrounding it without leaving much room for it to move. Part of him realized that his jutsu would not be enough to completely immobilize the creature. But he had a front to put up and completely ditching the arena was not going to bode well for him in the eyes of his superiors. "I will have my glory." He mumbled to himself watching the tornado spin around the monster that had interrupted his battle.

Sonyo made her way across the field, sprinting, weaving handseals even as she approached. She quickly passed the two gennin who were now standing there; one of them already in the process of attacking the beast. She had seen faintly who it was before the explosion of the sand demon's chakra, it had been Knives standing there. She had seen the jounin on only a few occasions, but she knew how important he was to the people she cared about. Once again, her kage would lose a piece of her family and her beloved would lose a close friend. How much more loss did they have to suffer? Sure the desert was unfeeling and cruel, but this was even beyond that.
Finishing the hand seals, Sonyo came to a stop close to the vortex the white haired male had created. Slamming her hands in to the ground, thirty foot tall spikes of ice would screwer upwards, attempting to gain any purchase they could in Shukaku as the beast was contained within the swirling mass of fuuton chakra created by Atsuma. "You two are strong but please for the sake of the village, if it gets too dangerous please retreat! Sonyo knew her words would most likely fall on deaf ears, the two shinobi at the top were headstrong and fueled to almost stupidity by their own pride. But she could hope that maybe, if they got in too far over their heads, they would retreat like Sadayo and Taylor did. Focsing chakra in an attempt to get her ice to last a little longer, cold began to seep from her body, permeating anything within ten feet of her on any side.

The spikes raise at a good speed, but are not reliable in an open area, or on unhindered targets.

By embedding the air with her Hyouton chakra, Sonyo decreases the air temperature of her surroundings to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The radius of this technique is 10 ft in every direction, giving her a cold area in which it's very implausible her ice will melt. Using an A-rank Katon technique for two posts in a row will return the area back to its normal temperature. This can't be used in junction with her dry ice technique.

Horus began his assault high in the air. He was above the tornado created by someone else, which gave him a unique advantage. His wings flapped desperately as he molded chakra through the actions like a human would form them by handseals. In seconds his body erupted into sparks of lightning before the sparks took the shape of humming birds. Horus had these gen humming birds nose dive into the eye of the tornado in order to strike at the beast inside. Once he had the attack fired, however, he flew back toward the combatants. He did not want to stay within the immediate area of this beast, especially since it was such a menacing size. All he knew is that he had to protect Taylor,
Taylor ran into the arena but stopped a distance away from the two fighters, which meant that he was even further from Sonyo. His mind raced as he saw the sheer size of this monster. What was it? Do such things exist in this world? And more importantly, why did it feel so familiar? His mind sobered the moment he saw Horus fly away from it. Although the monster was bound in a tornado, since he got a look at the beast prior the boy grabbed his chain scythe from his belt and channeled hand seals through it. Although it wasn't much, the beast would feel a wave of chakra binding its movement. Taylor felt like there was no way that it would do too much, but he had to do whatever he could to buy Horus time.

There it was: Shukaku. It was a shame that she was't trained enough to use this new mask of hers. Sadayo thought it be a treat to take advantage of her new bird, whatever it was, but that clearly wasn't going to happen. She had Hohoemi, Yūutsu, and a great deal of a distance between her and the sand monster. Truly long range. She had set herself behind others, unsure if she should wait for command other the innate "protect yourself and others". She was primed and ready. None of her seals were spent in her match (only primed, themselves, but delayed) so she had a fair boon here.

Hikaru did not make any move yet but kept the paper surrounding the two of them. In the air the pieces took the shape of miniature horses as he waited for the next attack to come.

This answered the question of where was Kyomei this chime was of course accompanied by a collection of chanting. She would provide air support to those below, assuming she wasn't swatted like a fly. Biting back her fear with the confidence in her allies Kyomei did have the means of of weakening the demon but she would need the co-operation of everyone. "Zai, Retsu, Jin, Kai, Sha, Zai, Retsu, Jin, Kai, Sha." Desperation accelerated Kyomei's hand-signs, her barrier flared. Hopefully she was correct in choosing this enhancement. Her allies hopefully would be able to bombard the beast more easily. Assuming she was even correct in the signs she used to produce it. She would then draw a paper dolls from her arsenal. With a refined skill Sadayo would perhaps notice it heading her direction straight for her chest as Kyomei threw it in a way most shinobi would throw a kunai and shuriken. Exhaling a sigh she would shift her gaze to the beast once more Kyomei would then draw, and extend her Shakujo in a fashion akin to slamming it. It then began to glow with an ethereal light as the chiming sound resonated. Her simple Shakujo making its transition into a Keihatsu...if only she were stronger...then she could use the Keihatsu's full potential...if only. She could manifest five rings for her Sacred Detainment at most...would that be enough? Should she start things off? She was the 'EXORCIST' after all. Suddenly an imaginary pressure began to grow within the small girls head. Right she needed to do this! SHE HAD TO MAKE THE FIRST MOVE!
"FEAR NOT CITIZENS OF SUNAGAKURE! I KYOMEI NENEMARU EXORCIST SUPREME SHALL BE YOUR GUIDING LIGHT!" Placing both hands on the shaft of her Shakujo her chakra manifested itself. Fox fires floated and danced around and the shadows of paper dolls fluttered around. Kyomei bit her teeth together. Mayhaps it was reckless of her, nay it was reckless of her but she felt a need, a desire, if she could face her fear here and if she could aid greatly in the defeat of the tailed beast she will truly be a 'GREAT AND POWERFUL EXORCIST'
Five Rings would glow upon the staff and vanish, they would then re-appear significantly lager, large enough to appear as individual shackles that could prove they would be able to warp themselves around the Shukaku's four limbs and its tail assuming they could get that far. All five suddenly launched themselves forwards towards the Shukaku then deviated splitting into five separate directions. "FRIENDS! PLEASE! ASSURE MY HOLY RINGS REACH THEIR DESTINATIONS OF THE BEASTS LIMBS! THEY WILL MOST CERTAINLY CRIPPLE ITS DESTRUCTION!" Faith, they would have to have either faith in the exorcist and if not their own abilities. Kyomei herself however would be unable to assist forced to channel the five rings. In which she honestly...didn't know if it would be enough.
((So The 5 Rings which would be useless unless in just a scenario like this would weaken the Shukakku's abilities by 1- rank per ring if they successfully attach themselves to each limb. Each ring is of A-rank strength so if Shu hits one with a S or higher they'll break, if Kyomei is disarmed the rings will also vanish.I figured I'd make a common goal unless there already was a secret common goal as to how to approach this situation in which case feel free to bash the rings. The goal I'm making is essentially have each individual, perhaps even pairs or groups of three to focus on one limb each to successfully create openings for the rings to latch on. Whoever is puppeting Shu could decide how many time they would have to break through his defenses for a ring to latch etc or how many failed attempts before he smashes a ring etc. After each rotation Kyomei will have to pay a sustain cost for maintaining the rings attached or not and since reductions don't apply to this ability she'd eventually run out thus putting a sort of time limit on this raid bossish mission thing. Description: The Keihatsu emits a super natural glow, one that often synchronizes with the user's own chakra. Aside from this glowing the Keihatsu bares no other physical difference from it's previous form as a Chowa.
Ability Summary
►8 Ring Shattering: Rank: X Description: The Keihatsu's rings can separate themselves from the the staff they are attached to, they then grow up to an incredible size. Ranging up to Eight feet in diameter. The rings can be freely controlled by the wielder using the staff as a conduit to direct them. (5-Chakra Per Ring. A Total of 40 Chakra For 8: Rings must be sustained whilst in flight.) The rings are then often intended to place a target in their vacant center and contract immediately to restrict the target. If any of the rings are broken the remains turn into a ball of spiritual light and return to the staff as a normal sized ring and is placed in a temporary recovery period (1 Post). If the Keihatsu is ever disarmed all currently floating rings fall to the ground and return to their normal size. The rings can also be used in conjunction with Shakujou styles if logical. The weaponized rings strength is equivalent to the user's amounted expended for stamina with Formless Style: Shakujou.
►Sacred Detainment: Rank: X {1-rank per Ring} Type:Special-Fuuin (Special Meaning Fuuin Reductions do not Apply) Element: N/a Description: Strange Creatures or spirits with malicious intent when bound by the rings undergo an immediate binding. This seal is treated as an S+ seal if all 8 rings find a way to ensnare their target. The target that meets all the criteria 1eing A Strange Creature 2:Harboring/Portraying Violent Tendencies cannot use any of their supernatural strength, skills, or powers, and effectively are stripped of all defenses up to the rank of rings used. Sacred Detainment then drains half said X-ranks worth of Chakra each post it is sustained. Sacred Detainment Does Work on Jinchuuriki but to a lesser extent only being treated as one X-ranked amount less and only stripping them of their [ Demon Techniques and Benefits ] equal to the amount of rings detaining them. Rings can be destroyed by an ability one rank higher than the X-rank of rings used or if there are three strength descriptives or higher when against a similar ranking technique.
►Edict of Purification: Rank: X {1-rank per Ring} Type:Special- Fuuin Element: All Description: When the Edict of Purification occurs the user stands still and begins reciting a mantra. As the Mantra progresses a ring will detach itself grow to it's maximum size and then portray the chinese or kanji symbol of an element. [1 Per Post ] The Elements are 火 [Ka] [Fire] : 風 [Fū] [Wind] :土 [Do] [Earth] : 雷 [Rai] [Lightening] : 水 [Sui] [Water]: 冥 [Mei] [Dark]: 光 [Kō] [Light]: 空[Kū] [Void]. The Mantra Must Be Sustained, Breaking of the mantra causes any rings at that point to fall pointlessly to the ground and return to the Keihatsu. The cost of this technique is progressive per post. [5], [10], [20], [40], [80], [160], [160], [160]. A Total of [640] by the final post. When the Mantra concludes the user spins their staff allowing for one final interruption and then slams it into the ground. All eight symbols glow with light corresponding to their elements fuse together into one giant ring that appears to be an eight sectioned circle with the symbol 真 [Shin] [Purity] in the center. A unfathomably powerful blast that could decimate an entire village if fired downward from the sky shoots forward. However, the beam inflicts no harm to anyone or any structure...unless it is a strange creature, impure of heart, tainted by evil, or wishes to do harm. The technique essentially, even then, does no damage, instead, it places a feeling of tranquility on all evil or violent intentions shutting them away briefly and crossing over any wayward spirits. The option for this technique to cause mass amounts of damage and destruction is possible but is considered Taboo in all accounts and doing so would destroy the weapon and make it's wielder unfit to ever wield another Keihatsu ever again. Even then, such is only achievable by tampering with the chanters rings discreetly carving [Shi] [Death] on each ring. Which no wielder could do themselves as it would make them unfit to wield the Keihatsu. This was only discovered when a former Keihatsu user asking for purity [Shin] to be engraved on the weapon by a blacksmith was accidently replaced with [Shi] the result was labeled in history as [The Black Tragedy]. While it's mark in history was minimal and the small settlement lost wasn't noteworthy the Keihatsu's capability of destruction was discovered that day and only the most heavily versed scholars are aware of it as even many who've unlocked the Keihatsu's abilities are unaware of this. Unfortunately devout historian's because of this are incredibly suspicious of all wielders of the Keihatsu.

__ Tetsuhiko appeared in the arena and his face turned pale instantly as he witnessed the Leviathan before him. The Iron Prince was in complete shock, he had never seen any creature quite like this in his entire life. It was enormous and struck terror within him which served to motivate him. Tetsuhiko stood at a long ranged position, closest to Sadayo. With jangling tambourines, three more puppets appeared around him. Now every puppet he had ever created was on the battlefield with him. Caesar, Hera, Hermes, Io, Isis, Orpheus, Juno, Thanatos, and Artemisia were all there. Io and Isis, the rooks, were levitating ten feet above Tetsuhiko positioned to fire ammunition at the beast. Caesar was to Tetsuhiko's right positioned in order to protect and defend him, the king stood behind his subjects. Artemisia, Hera, and Thanatos stood five feet in front of Tetsuhiko with a clear positioning for further ranged attacks. Orpheus, Juno, and Hermes were positioned in front of Artemisia, Hera, and Thanatos with six feet of distance between them for the purpose of supporting Tetsuhiko's monster battling allies.
Chakra puppet strings appeared and attached to Io and Caesar, five each.All of the puppets' mouths then gaped open simultaneously to play pipe organ music, Tetsuhiko was now performing his Magnetic Music Performance.All nine of the metal marionettes played pipe organ music through them.Tetsuhiko stood behind his nine puppets and examined the beast as well as all of the friendly faces of his fellow villagers. He noticed that Atsuma and Susanoo stood in front of Tanuki and he gulped. "I hope they stay safe."He thought as he stood in a defensible position, he was preparing himself for large attacks. The puppeteer was now displaying his full power, all nine puppets were under magnetic control. He was not skilled enough as a puppeteer to be able to control all of them with kugutsu strings alone so he needed to use his magnetism and it worked wonders. Tetsuhiko was accustomed to fighting with one to three puppets, nine was a completely different scenario. He was anxious about fighting this demon, but all he could do was focus on the situation in front of him.

James simply dropped from the observation post, his frozen armor flowing over him like a second skin as his feet thumped into the sand, he glared up at the wind and sand for a moment, and suddenly he was moving in a massive burst of speed. All around him the Suna nin were reacting, making moves and forming plans, and for a moment James tuned it all out in crystal clear rage. That ******** demon had killed Knives.
James lashed out with Silverfang in his hand as he ran, a massive swirling vortex of chakra and force at the one tailed demon, the vortex itself was strong enough to rip an armored man to bloody shreds, but James simply used it as a distraction, letting the deadly jutsu catch the attention of the creature, and launching himself into the air at the creatures face, a superhuman missile crashing his entire body at the demons skull behind a flying elbow with a blow that could shatter boulders.

As she used shunshin to jump across the arena to her enemy avoiding the paralytic jutsu, as his notes were slower than her casting shunshin through her blade. The clone was playing the other song for all the genjutsu anyway. It would take him a moment to play the next few notes. But right before she was about to swing at him a shockwave emerged in the arena causing her to fall to the sand. Growling she stood back up and winced in pain turning to the being that took her fight from her. She was going to beat that man but the enormous being put a stop to that. With her katana still glowing she growled and tightened her hand around her katana. Her left leg caused her to become light headed but she continued through it clenching her teeth. A sandstorm whipped her in the face and she continued to try and capture her footing as the horrifying being went into a frenzy. As her body trembled she knew only one thing at this time. She had to remain strong... no matter what she had to keep motivated and steel herself to the outside world. She had to keep moving on and become stronger at every turn and defy all expectations. Her injury was taking a high amount of her concentration and it wasn't long before she knew had to get out of there. Otherwise she would just be an obstacle to the shinobi of her village. Something to hinder them in combat and that was never why she trained so hard. Sheathing her sword she was about to make one last shunshin but someone else beat her to it. When someone lifted her with ease she knew she had to stay gone when they got her out of there. As she was on the sky box she sat up with her eyes upon the beast barely keeping awake at this time.
● Raiton: Tanto Yaiba (Lightning Release: Tanto Blade) •Rank - C {Used at B rank but treated as A rank due to Hatake} •This technique increases the flow between the user and the weapon. By converting their Raiton into visible almost white bright chakra, the user is able to extend the blade and focus more of its power into a chakra blade. The stronger the user the longer the blade created. This jutsu does not require handseals.
● Chidori Sai (One Thousand Birds Cut) •Rank - B {Treated as A rank 0 of 4 blasts left} • This attack is a mixture of Hatake Clan’s specialties. The user is able to channel their raiton through their weapon of choice. Through repeated slashes (maximum of 4 shots) they become able to unleash raiton blasts that appear to be white in color. These slashes cleave metal like a hot knife through butter. These slashes are extremely fast and blinding to those who are not the Hatake or Lightning User in question, thus making this technique special. This jutsu does not require handseals.
● Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ] Rank: D Official Description: Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. The Shinobi will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the Shinobi will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance. As such, an 'air' or 'feeling' will pervade the area before usage. Guild Description: See official description. Maximum of 1 mile. Further mileage requires 1 D-ranked per each mile. The Kamikaze Unit Part II would hit Shukaku square on, but the damage caused by their detonation would start healing rapidly as sand filled in the creature's wound. It would only be a matter of time before it was back to normal. It laughed as the tornado came down around it, then seemed to take advantage of all the sand that was being stirred up. Behind a nearly opaque wall of sand, a few spears of ice could be seen poking through the creature's feet and into its lower gut. Horus' hummingbirds impacted harmlessly against the swirling sands. The laughing continued even as techniques flew into the sandstorm or grazed its skin, not even stopping when James' Farewell Kiss dug into the beast's "flesh", but it went quiet when James gave it a solid whack in the face. All at once there would be a great sucking of air, then an enormous blast of wind would erupt from the creature's gullet toward the man clad in ice armor.
As Shukaku flopped over, a wave of sand would rush away from it and suddenly burst apart into an omni-directional hailstorm of sand clumps, each the size of a large pebble and collectively with enough strength and coverage to severely hamper any non-defending forces.

His birds had made contact successfully. The cogs in Toya's mind were spinning now. But before he could set his plan into motion several things occurred. A man in heavy armor attacked the beast head on, but was swatted away with little effort and by Toya's assumption said man was not a gennin like himself. What he had used must've been incredibly strong just by appearance and yet it had no actual impact on the monster. One of the shinobi higher ups that were in the lounge told him to leave if things got too dangerous. He noted the advice and made sure not to die. If anything he would use the people around him to kill the beast yet as the battle raged on part of him doubted he could take it on without the aid of his allies. The same kunoichi who warned him of the danger attacked the monster with ice release. In the desert it was sight to behold. The ice glistening in the raging sunlight only to become blurred by the sand. From above he witnessed a large bird hover above the monster and do something, but what exactly it was doing was not apparent. More shinobi showed up even Tetsuhiko with his army of puppets. He hoped they would serve more useful now than before.
"The moment you touched my paper you doomed yourself beast." He silently said to himself as he activated his genjutsu. If it worked on the beast it's world would begin to change drastically. The sand that it controlled would become paper as far as it could see and feel. From the arena concrete to the bleachers. Watching it attack and how it could manipulate sand plus wind gave Toya some insight on it's abilities. If it couldn't see or feel sand would it still be able to control it? Just as it was about to flop over the sand that was now paper would rush up to hold it. Hundreds of tendrils would push against it's body while more would attempt to wrap it's limbs and cover it's face. If this was successful then Toya would successfully stop the creature from creating the hail storm. If not the boy was about to bite it. For safe measure the boy would also place another genjutsu through paper contact on the monster. It's body would fade away like paper if left unchecked for too long.

So many gennin came rushing in, and pride filled Sonyo's chest with a warm feeling she didn't think she ever felt before. They were so brave, and they were only gennin. Sure some of them shook, but they were standing for their village! She remembered how she was during the Chomei attack, nearly too terrified to do anything, nearly spurred on by Nari basically dragging her through it all. This was what Sunagakure shinobi were like, facing the odds to protect the people who couldn't protect themselves. Several of them were her gennin-- Taylor, Sadayo, Tetsuhiko --She would have to reward them all after this, if they made it out... when they made it out. They would make strong shinobi some day, she oculd feel it deep in her bones. She had never been so proud of them.
The world stopped for a moment to remind her exactly why she admired James as a ninja, as the male came practically flying in the face of a gigantic monster and elbowed it. She stood in awe for a second at her past sensei, at his strength, at his will. She had only been his student for a short while before she was promoted but all the same, she still saw the man as her teacher. IT was true, he was back. Sonyo would have to talk to him too, there was still so much she had to learn from the man. They shared a great many things in common; ice and eiseijutsu to name a few. She couldn't count how many things she could be taught, and excitement ripped through her. That is, until she saw Nariomi. Just like always he was so elegant and his movements were practiced.
But the sorrow on his face threw her off, and threw her off hard.
She couldn't remember seeing Nari cry, not ever. The events of her being stabbed were hazy but she didn't remember him crying even then; Nariomi Kaguya did not cry. The fact that he was crying now meant that something was wrong, horribly wrong. She went to take a step towards him, to say something, to say anything. She wanted to comfort him, to calm him, to bring back his normal effortless self-assurance-- but the shockwave from the fuuton attack caught her attention first. Her head snapped up, her brown eyes going wide as the force of the attack began to tumble the giant demon tanuki over. She didn't have much time, hell she didn't have time. Sonyo ran as fast as she could, trying to cover as much distance as possible in the time she had. AS she ran, she weaved handseals; there was no time to wait.
She barely registered anything from Astuma, she wasn't paying attention. Once she was sure she was in the middle ground between everyone she threw her hands up. Ice formed, and quickly, as the beast hit the ground. As it formed, it moved, like it was a liquid. It would form a dome over everyone on the ground, ending just behind Taylor and nearly right in front of Nari. She hoped it was enough, she prayed it was enough.
Panting now as her chakra reserves began to run low, the chuunin focused all she could on her ice. Chakra began to flow through the giant structure, fortifying it, strenghtening it. She willed it to be stronger, willed it to hold. She would protect the gennin, she would protect her home, no one would get hurt on her watch-- never again! Determination burned in the hyouton user's eyes, she knew James could take care of himself. She had no doubts that he would shrug off the bullet, he was a medical shinobi after all. But Nari, nari wasn't being himself, and in till he had the strength to fight she would be here to hold him up.

Tired hazel-brown hues fell on her other half, watching him from across the distance. Why would he hesistate so much? She knew he would do anything to protect this village, just like her, so why was he holding back? Did he not want to kill the beast because it was all that was left of Knives? She hesitated for a moment, weighing her options, before shouting across the space between them. "Nari! You don't have to kill it! Have it sealed in someone! Have...." She thought for a moment longer, pausing, then smiled softly. "Have Bast-sama work her magic or something! There are other options!" Waiting for a response from the Kaguya, Sonyo stood at the ready to manipulate the ice in any way she had to. If one of the gennin were to attack, they would find that the ice would open up around their attack, only to close back up once through.

The user will surge additional chakra into one of their techniques- during or after formation-creating an interlaced coating on its frame, and throughout key structure points. By applying this coat, most techniques that would typically melt, shatter, or pierce the user's ice, are found worthless. ( Rather than costing [80] chakra to perform, each modified technique costs an additional [20] chakra. )

Sacred Detainment Does Work on Jinchuuriki but to a lesser extent only being treated as one X-ranked amount less and only stripping them of their [ Demon Techniques and Benefits ] equal to the amount of rings detaining them.
