Ixen searched Yuki’s features. Good his mate had settled down a bit. Nuzzling him softly he knew that Yuki would never leave Sin’s land for long a short break but how could Yuki leave Sin? It was just an impossible thought. “There we go. So for now we are going to make a plan to set up defenses and all that…” He looked at Yuki for a moment. He realized he had more pressing matters first. “We will let the others know that traps need to be set up and we will inspect them later as well as have the others start patrols. The demonic children will enjoy the orders to detain any thorn fox by any means needed so Sin can question them.” He knew the kids would likely attack any fox who was a stranger in their land anyway so he thought the image of the fierce killer children dragging a bloody Shai up to Sin might cheer Yuki up just a bit. “You and I though are going to head back to the den and I am going to make sure that you relax just a bit.” It was true Yuki was so tense beside him. It wasn’t healthy. He was going to make sure Yuki was well …distracted before anything else. Ixen figured in truth it was something he might himself if there was trouble coming. “Don’t worry Yuki we’ll look over things and make plans of attack or visitation to our children later. For now lets leave the message with the little killers and then just let it be you and I for a short while.” He gave his mate a kiss that told Yuki exactly what Ixen was thinking and what was in store for him when they got back to their den.

Back to the den sounded like a good plan. Being out in the open — regardless of how safe their forest was for them — made Yuki feel exposed in his current vulnerable state. He almost felt grateful the BCR wasn't with him at the moment. Sure, he always loved kids; heck, he had begged Ixen for more despite their reasonable age. Two litters were enough, but adoption was never out of the question. He just never thought it'd happen now, nor with a child who would clearly bear the same markings as the thorn sibling.

Hell, even saying his name left a sick flutter in his stomach.

While Yuki was usually persuaded by soft kisses and tempting promises it took him a moment to return Ixen's affection, eyes lingering where Sin had once been. They would need to prepare for a new little one. Their second litter having grown so long ago had meant the extra padding for kits had been removed and the stolen toys were now tucked away with their respective adult owners. If they were going to raise another child Yuki was going to do it right, even if he was terrified.

Right now, though, he was going to cash in on that offer Ixen had subtly hinted at and get some rest.

"We'll need to discuss names," He murmured faintly as he brushed against his larger mate, padding back in the direction of their home. They'd also need to gather together the kids and send the news to those who couldn't make it.

SO idea -- we could timeskip to a brief meeting of a bunch of family to announce new little one with Balor as a kit and showing some psychotic tendencies? Maybe Ixen suggests it to start nudging Balor to begin imprinting on the family so if he ends up like Sin (which he will) he'll still love and protect the family?

Ixen flicked his ears looking around. Many others had already arrived but a few were late. He was gathering those who were family so that should they encounter one another later they would be a little less ‘strike happy’ in truth he was less worried about his and Yuki’s children and more worried for the others with darker hearts. His children knew the score. They came and were quite for the most part though as always had much love for Sin and gladly told him anything he wanted to know about the lands they resided in. How the hunt was, how the other tribe members faired. If there was weakness or enemies in the area. He looked at Balor who was as troublesome as always with his quick study. He was likely figuring out that those that have love for him as family would be more likely to share far to much with him then they should considering they are tribed. He would try and remember to have a talk with his children later about falling prey to the charming kits ‘innocent’ questions. Ixen didn’t really know what it was about the kit but he was too smart, too quick and had a streak that was mean enough to match any member of Sin’s blood. There was always something more to what the kit asked and Ixen didn’t want to give Balor anything that would lead to trouble later on.

User Image
Itov sat in the shadows as he often did. In truth a part of him disliked coming to these lands. They always reeked of blood, but the call of family was stronger so his joy at seeing his father’s again was great. He told his father how a tribe member had come back with BCRs but it seemed the other fox would not be joining Eiru so it was yet unclear where the children would end up. He didn’t speak of Haven finding a mate as she would surely tell her grandfather in her own time. For now she was snuggling up close to Yuki. Hex was off somewhere causing trouble no doubt. The boy was late but would show up soon enough and annoy many here who didn’t seem to find joy in pranks and silly humor as he did. Though it might amuse the kit who was here.

User Image
“Yansin you really should find a mate. You know your father came and found me when I was chasing down Janice and he told me all about may things I didn’t know. You should find someone who knows more then you and definitely see if you can’t go on a few dates. Right tenma, Ithel?” She asked her brothers without even waiting for a response started in on Ithel suggesting that he find a mate to and a good loving one. After all Ithel was her younger brother and she worried about him. She worried about Temma too but that was a different kind of worry.

User Image
“Ma! Do na worry ov’ it.” Yansin wanted to hide when his mother was like this, which was often. His niece was dealing with it much better she just sat there and nodded every so often even when Yavie turned all her focus on the young vixen and started to ramble about faries and drawers or other such things. Yasin knew they were stories but somehow his mother believed everyone his father told her. The absolute trust was still baffling to him but he was glad his mother had someone like his father to keep an eye on her.

User Image
Machlah had no interest in the ramblings her grandmother was having but it was expected and so she listened intently and gave her grandmother an active audience to tell her stories that she loved to do. in truth Machlah was much more interested in the other foxes gathered here. Many of them seemed very dark and had a strange way about them. It was rare for her to meet others of her family and this was the first large gathering she had attended. Her eyes roamed the location and took in the dark looks. So many strangers but yet all were family? An odd and lovely thing. She wondered what they were all like.

User Image
Haven had said perhaps three words since arriving at the gathering. This land bothered her. She had the gift to hear the souls of the departed. Thankfully she could not see them. The sounds they made were sadder her and more alone then in Eiru. She didn’t want to seem as crazy as her aunt with ghost stories rather then fairies so she kept her mouth closed and her eyes and ears open. Right now she was snuggling up to Yuki as that was always a safe place to be in her mind. Perhaps one of the safest in all this land.

User Image
Sneaking up behind his sister he half pounced her loudly calling hello. To his lack of surprise she didn’t jump or react beyond shoving him off. Really Haven was kill joy. “Heyo kiddo.” He winked at a little blue fox and then waved a paw at his father and grandfather watching Itov take a visible sigh. Really the old man needed to lighten up a bit. “So what did I miss? Hey there” he waved to a few other foxes. “How are you?”

User Image
Ithel sat near Yua and their father Yuki. It was good to see the others again. Really though it seemed there were a few loud and crazy ones here as always but the other side had a lot of psychotic ones. It was an oddly balanced family.

User Image
“I found a mate. She is sweet and gentle papa, like you.” She commented to Yuki and noticed Haven blinked and gave her a look. Was there something about mates that was an interesting subject to her? perhaps she would ask the other vixen about it later.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 21, 2018 8:30 pm
User Image It was safe to say Tenma had not planned to come. Yasashii was a fair travel from Cruor and he didn't often found need to stray far from his home or mate. Paige had insisted on coming, of course, but Tenma knew full well Sin's disdain for her. Leaving her with Kithara and the others — regardless of the fact Kithara was not fond of her either — was a safer option. His fur had bristled when Kithara's kids had offered to stop by, actually. Raised sheltered within the healing lands, he doubted they would know how to handle the blood filled lands. He could be the messenger for both sides he figured.

It didn't stop one of Kithara's kids from tagging along in the end, anyway. Kithara had mentioned that, as her age grew, she'd need someone to take over her good standing with ex-Cruor lands. It was safer to start sending one of her own with Tenma then send them in blind when, evidently, they passed.

His eye drifted to Yukine, mouth tightening.

"Don't speak unless spoken to. They may be family but it's the ones your own age you need to worry about. Not all are behaved."

It was Yavie who surprised him, his head snapping up as the familiar figure spoke. An eyebrow quirked as he glanced at Yansin, eyes sending a clear message; I'm not helping you out of this.

User Image Yukine kept his mouth shut, eyes narrowed in faint agitation. He remembered Kithara's words well. As a scout, it was his duty to deliver messages back and forth. While it always landed on Tenma to deal with their darker side of the family, his limp was getting worse with age. Kithara had too much on her paws, as well. They were getting older, and that meant less energy for trips and more focus on helping those generations under them.

Kithara had made it clear; only family was allowed to communicate with ex-Cruor, and she had selected him to take Tenma's duties over in the near future. He still didn't understand how a Gatherer got the job in the first place, but he never pressed the issue. Nor did he combat her choice.

If you asked him, though, he rather not be here. He didn't like the smell or the tension emitting from Tenma. This was his home, too, right? Tenma looked relaxed around the foxes, but Yukine noted how his legs were ready to bolt. Something about the younger foxes had Tenma's jaw tight — why?

Nevertheless, Yukine took his duties seriously; much like his uncle. He gave a shrug of his shoulder in response to Tenma, paws crossing over one another as he lowered himself to the ground; an action Tenma seemed disapproving of but he ignored. The larger and older fox was all about manners and image — he could care less. They had been walking for days! He needed a rest.

User Image Kyo padded into the opening, immediately brushing up Ixen and Yuki in greeting before settling near his older siblings. He hadn't had much time to know the earlier litter, although he never really cared to seek them out either. He didn't like to admit the jealousy that snuck into his skin when he noted how Yuki perked up seeing his first litter. He noted Yua and Ithel, absently wondering where the others were. Knowing Chiharu, she was probably off wooing another vixen or two again. The others? No clue.

At Yua's comment on her own ongoings he turned his head to her, head cocking to the side. A mate? He hadn't even thought to do the same. Mates were work, and while he didn't mind the idea of company he also didn't enjoy the idea of fighting for someone to love him.

He also didn't know if he could love, either. Growing up he never felt what a crush was, nor did he find interest in foxes who passed his path during his travels. Perhaps that was why he had returned to stay with the ex-Cruor foxes, regardless of how 'lonesome' it could be.

User Image Phanes was tucked against the laying chest of a Judas, his body completely blanketing her except her head and front paws — just the way she liked it. She squirmed under her massive mate, blinking owlishly at each individual fox who joined the gathering. Tenma's eyes fell on her and she gave a wicked grin, watching his spine twitch as he jerked his head away to examine someone else. He had always been wary of her, probably because of that one time she had accidentally led him into a pack of wild dogs. She couldn't help it that he fell for one of her oldest tricks in the boy — it wasn't even aimed at him! It had been aimed at that golden and white girl he had liked to bring around the woods. He was the idiot who followed the sound of crying.

She squirmed, again, pressing the top of her head under Judas' muzzle for unneeded comfort. Ever since the vanishing of her mother and a few siblings she had sought more and more affection from her immediate family. Her eyes light up as Sin entered the clearing, snaking out from under her mates grip and up against her father, nuzzling into the larger fox with a tail that wagged lazily behind her.

"Papa~ It's been awhile."

User Image Nyx had trailed in after Sin, tail tight around her mate, Niril. Under her scurried Aita, who gave the same analytical stare that mirrored her mothers to those who glanced over.

Nyx didn't bother to correct Phanes; they lived in the same woods with their father. They had just seen Sin a week ago, but perhaps for the red vixen that wasn't enough. Nyx settled near Judas, batting Aita to the front of her feet as Niril settled quietly beside her. She had an idea what this meeting was for, eyes locked on the blue kit who sat neatly at Ixen's feet. Sin didn't like her alone with the boy, not after the incident, but Nyx had no intention to harm the child unless he requested it.

She did, however, fully intend to keep Aita away from the kit until she was older. Her daughter was already fairly drawn to the boy, having been caught once or twice sneaking off to meet with him. The boy was polite, but he reeked of something off. Something similar to the blood-stained family. She knew well enough from experience that if she left Aita to her own devices the two might cause enough trouble to bring the land in view of outsiders, especially after the second time they were caught.

Nyx and Sin had discovered the two crouched over a cowering kit; a child who had stumbled upon their lands. While the boy was merely observing, Aita had her fangs sunk deep into the child and was already gorging on the weak and anemic child. She had begun feeding far earlier than Niril had, and Nyx knew it was the boys fault. The way his blue eyes had flicked up to her with a hint of amusement had unsettled her ever since.

So for now her daughter was kept carefully between her paws. She still didn't like how the boy turned towards her and offered a knowing smirk. He knew her concern; she sensed it. He knew and reveled in it.

Aita squeaked as Nyx's claws dug into her tail, ears flicking back as she hissed towards her mother. Nyx ignored the angry kit, instead focused intently on the blue one.

She had a feeling her was going to be the worse of this family yet.

User Image "Yeah yeah yeah, zip it." The aggravated voice was instantly recognized by most within the clearing as a familiar and awfully annoyed Erebus appeared. Temperamental as always, his teeth dared to bare at Sin, who had most likely said something right before they entered the clearing.

"Look, I'll have the little ******** when you can find my mate and convince her she needs the shits. You got enough grandkids, ol' man, leave me out of it."

It was a wonder why Sin allowed the tone in the first place. Erebus was the only one ever allotted the freedom to speak his way. Perhaps it was because, at the end of the day, he reminded Sin of himself in the old days. Erebus spoke his mind — spoke it with volume. He wasn't as inherently bloodthirsty, but provoke him and he'd find his way to your throat faster than you could blink. Sin was often disappointed in the weaker willed Erebus, but the boy entertained him, and so favoritism was shown.

Still, perhaps even that was a little too much, as instantly Sin whirled around and whispered something into Erebus' ear. Erebus flicked his ear, leaning away with a disgruntled expression.

"....Sorry."

User Image Yuki enjoyed watching the foxes pile in. It was family. He loved all of them, even the ill-tempered ones. His tail wagged with each introduction of his children, ears perking up as Haven snuggled right into his side. He didn't waste anytime practically draping himself over her, ears flopped down in comfort as his tail slowly wagged. Hex's loud arrival caused the older fox to bristle in surprise before giving a small smile at Hex and returning to keeping his quieter granddaughter comforted.

His head turned towards Yua, her comment enough to cause him to shift and sit upright.

"Really? Tell me all about them!" Mates meant more family! He also was a sucker for love stories, even if his own started rather unconventionally. He did, however, note a certain kit snap his eyes over. Yuki glanced at Ixen, nails digging into the earth.

He loved Balor, but it was hard. Something was wrong, and while he had experience with the darker side of his family he also never had to raise someone like that. He loved Sin but he had the benefit of turning his head away at times. With Balor, who was beginning to understand he was a parent to them, he couldn't turn his back. All he could do was watch the kit unfold into something unknown.

Balor's interest in others was unnerving. He never strayed from his politeness, but Yuki had noted he took every piece of information someone spoke of and retained it. He'd bring it up casually in conversations, letting foxes feel like he truly heard them, but Yuki had seen enough times how often useless information seemed to linger with him. Why was everything important to this boy? Why did he need to know so much — to understand everything about another fox?

And the incident with Nyx and Aita still concerned him.

He was relieved when Sin interrupted his own conversation, head jerking over to listen to the one fox who had made this all possible.

User Image "Hello, everyone," He began, leaning down to pick Balor up by the scruff and bring him to his feet. He wasn't one to beat around the bush. They were here for a reason, and the kit needed to start identifying different scents, allies, and family immediately.

He wasn't blind to the kit. Sin had some direct influence with Balor's survival training, but he was not the scheming sort. He never had been. He had heard Ixen and Yuki's concerns and noted them. He could become a problem if not properly raised. A part of him wondered what the child would have become under Shai's care; was this because of Sin's training? Or was he always inclined this way?

How much of this was nature vs nurture? Regardless, the kit needed to be exposed to his family. It was imperative that a kit who was clearly going to become someone strong had the right allies. Sin didn't want to have to put down the child he had picked himself.

"I wanted to invite everyone to meet the two newest family members; Aita and Balor." That was a half truth — while the family often visited to see new members, they had grown lax over the years. Some litters hadn't been introduced to others, some members had drifted apart, etc. Aita was not of concern. He didn't care if the others met his granddaughter, mostly because he already knew Aita didn't care. She was much like Nyx; understood family was not to be touched but otherwise didn't have much of a sentimental bond with those not in her immediate family.

However, he didn't want to draw attention that Balor was interesting. No, he didn't want Balor to know their concern. If he became aware of the eyes on him when he wasn't around what would happen? Would he distrust his parental group? He didn't want to tip Balor off, and to do that he needed to address the other kit born the same week he was.

"We've grown over the years, it's time we reunite and re-familiarize ourselves with one another. I'd like to hear how everyone is doing and introduce themselves to the new children. Later, we'll eat. Ixen and I collected a few kills for the night."

Ixen always hated introductions in a way when it came to family. It still felt a bit odd to say he was Sin’s adoptive son and Yuki’s mate. Since Sin had his own children by blood now Ixen had simply gone by saying he was Yuki’s mate and those who didn’t know his history could remain ignorant of why he was so loyal to Sin. It was surprising what was said when others didn’t understand. He always found that a bit funny even when he never said anything about it. “I am Ixen Kaldra, Yuki’s mate.” He wasn’t looking at the children for the introduction. They knew him well enough. It was said for those who were not of this land. Tenma had brought a Yasashii member with him who was clearly related. Ixen couldn’t rember his name offhand but was quite certain he had met the child once or at least had been told of his description. Sometimes it was hard to keep track of the grandkits when they lived in other places. Machlah had been proof enough of that. He had learned of her the hard way and had been quite shocked at first as she looked so little like Yavie’s daughter.

User Image
“Itov, carer of the Eiru tribe” Itov felt a tap on his head from Ixen who gave him a bemused look. “My fathers are Yuki and Ixen.” He gestured to Hex and Haven. “My children.” Really that should be enough of an introduction? Ah that reminded him Ixen had asked something odd of him. Moved his tail that had the tribe symbol on it. Buried in his fur were some feathers from the phims of the tribe. “something for the kits to play with. They are from some phims in Eiru.” He pulled out feathers not really sure why Ixen had requested them. He pulled them out and placed them in front of himself so the kits could come and take them there was quite a few feathers and it was clear there were multiple feathers from anyone he had asked. He was debating on if he should add more how he and the tribe were doing, thankfully his sister cut him off quickly. It was nice to have Yavie around when the absence from having the whole tribe around was felt. She clearly had no inhibiters.

User Image
“I’m Yavie and Pappa Yuki and papa Ixen are my parents and Tenma is by brother of course along with my other siblings Itov, Kithara,Altan, Nitya, Yua, Kyo, Taeko, Chiharu, Ithel.” She of course gestured to those that were there with a big smile. She felt so at home here with her family it didn’t mater that some of the others were a little scary she was their family so she would love them and be happy to snuggle with them anytime. “I can’t believe how cute the little ones are.” She was practically gushing and then started to talk about her own kits which made her excited and talk even faster with her tail wagging. She listed her children then started talking about how they were when they were kits and how they used to act and get into trouble like when Yansin had brought home a whole bee hive by dragging a very dead log that a queen bee had been starting a hive in because he had wanted honey for something or other.

User Image

Gently tapping his mother Yansin actually managed to blush with his dark fur and it was clear he wanted to hide in the floor. “M Yansin, Meh mother is Yavie.” His accent from his father was clear. He gestured for Machlah to start speaking which made Yavie quite. She loved to hear stories he knew and this introductions part was quite plainly that a chance to catch up and tell stories, but if he let her go now she would go all night. He had no mate or interesting stories to tell so instead he made it his job to keep his mother from interrupting the others. He really wasn’t sure what to expect from the others here. His mother hadn’t really been all that helpful in telling him what to know and what to avoid. He had hoped to be able to speak to Tenma or one of the others whose faces he actually knew before all this had really started but that had been put an end to by the loud fox and Sin’s arrival.

User Image
“Greetings everyone I am Machlah, My grandmother is Yavie, my mother is Lorina. I look forward to getting to know all of you.” She dipped her head in greeting. By comparison to the others she was quite young. In fact she was only a bit older then the young blue one who was still a kit. She was just barely an adult. Her eyes wondered around taking in each of the faces. She was a bit nervous but hopeful that she would make new connections here. She was the result of a mutual surprise form the deities so she found much value in getting to know her family. She wasn’t sure who would go after her when a small voice called out. It was hard to hear so her ears swiveled to focus on the voice.

User Image
“Haven… of Eiru.” Her voice was almost inaudible while she continued to hid herself away from the others next to Yuki and Yua. She really didn’t know Yua at all other then what her father had told her. It was a surprise that the vixen looked like a small clone of her grandfather. It was refreshing as well. She looked at Machlah. That vixen seemed nice. And Yansin did as well but he sounded so strange. She might try and talk to them later. She glanced at the fox hiding under a deava. That seemed like a comfortable spot she was a bit jealous and wished she had Nal to snuggle up with right now, but of course she couldn’t hide under Nal and where Nal here she would feel as though she had to protect Nal from some of these foxes as a few smelled… off.

User Image
“Well that was a crappy introduction sis. I don’t think half of them even heard you.” Hex rolled his eyes and laughed. “I’m Hex of Eiru and this is Haven. We’re Itov and Shamain’s kids.” He sauntered over to the feathers his father had brought and snagged one. “We grew up in the land of mist and misfits.” He held up Kiyoshi’s feather. “This phim is mated to a fox who doesn’t sleep. Like she actually can’t ever sleep.” He offered the feather to the girl kit seeing there was another there for the boy. “Of course that’s nothing compared to the fox who has multiple eyes and her sister who has a tentacle.” He waved his paw at the boy and made a wiggly motion until a very clear growl from his sister could be heard. “Relax Hav~ I’m not teasing about your girlfriend but it gives a good sense of what some of the others in the tribe are like.” His father cleared his throat loudly and Hex grimaced. Was he not supposed to talk about Haven and her little girlfriend who she had been sneaking off to see? Every one even Karistal knew about it the tribe by now. He rolled his eyes. “The tribe is doing well so if you ever wanna hear any interesting stories come and ask anytime.” He grinned. And saw the fast talking vixen from before light up. Oh that one was gonna be fun. He bet she could talk for hours. He would answer a lot of her question and maybe slip a fib or two to make it more exciting and then let his dad have to sort it out. Trotting back to Haven he wasn’t surprised when she glared daggers at him. He just hoped she didn’t ask their mom to sick ghosts on him or something. He had nothing to do with that world so it was always a bit odd his sister was so weird at times

User Image
Shaking his head Ithel wasn’t really even sure where to start. “Ithel, Ixen and Yuki’s child. As always I’m doing fine.” It was dam clear who he was related to from his markings. He knew most of the others in the room as well and as for the tribed foxes he didn’t really see why it would matter since he didn’t head to tribed lands anyway. He was fine where he was and didn’t really see a need to leave or change. He looked at Sin wondering if that was enough after all hearing from each of them would be a massive pain in the a** so it was far more likely that after this little round of introductions he would speak to one two of the who weren’t around much. It wasn’t like Ithel had anything interesting to say anyway. His life was boring and he was fine with that. Too much excitement tedious kind of like his older sister. He hardly knew her and already wanted to avoid her and the orange one. He looked to Kyo and nodded. It was good to see his brother. “been a bit” Ithel hadn't really bothered to hunt down and talk to family in a bit so this was nice. sort of.

User Image
Yua was sad she didn’t get a chance to tell her papa about Squee before all the introductions had gotten started but that was alright she had learned that Haven had a girlfriend. That was cute. She knew Haven from the description of Itov so it would be a good chance to get to know her and have some common ground. “I’m Yua.” She leaned against Yuki. It was clear who her parentage was without needing to say anything at all. “I am well. I recently found a mate. She would not do well here the family would consider her weak, but she makes me happy.” She could have Yuki and the other gentler members meet Squee but the vixen would be eaten alive to come here. Yua knew better then such a foolish act. This made it clear she would not bring her mate here unless it was clear there was an issue dangerous enough that they needed the safety of the family.
