Bast'ion was concerned about Rana but now she was safe and Rashka was in trouble and Bast'ion wasn't completely sure what he could do for him now. Rana had only been reachable because Rahska had nudged her to safety and now the same could not be done for him. The kirin lions ears pinned as he thought about what he should do.
It didn't matter though even if it was a long shot the kirin lion couldn't let his son get hurt. He slid down the side of the ledge and sunk his claws in to the crumbling clay pushing Raksha up a bit as he barely hung on.
"YOU NEED TO GRAB THE LEDGE!"
He was slipping. It was possible the both of them would slip down and get hurt. Bast'ion hadn't fully thought this plan through.

Bast'ion was struggling to hold on but was relieved that Raksha had gotten up safely. In truth, there had been no exit plan for the older kirin lion. He'd only meant to get his son out of harms way and what ever happened after was of no concern. But now that he was actually faced with what could go wrong; he was pretty sure there would be no getting up. The male was too far down and the mud was slipping beneath his paws.
"Raksha! Take care of Rana! Protect the cubs." He was trying his hardest to pull him self up but with every struggle the mud and earth gave out under. His climbing skills were proving to be useless now as the ledge was actively working against him. Bast'ion was too far down to be helped with out another lion putting them selves in dire danger.
He'd made his choice and while the outcome for him was s**t; he was happy his son was alright and Rana. The earth finally gave out sending the kirin lion down in the abyss below swallowing him up in the swirling mists and darkness.

Rana let out a small growl in pain, this was more than just a broken rib and the pains in her abdomen were getting worse. "Raksha, it's time." She wasn't sure how much longer she'd be able to keep these kids in.
"I promise Father." Raksha reached for his father but there was no use. The pain in his eyes was apparent as his father said those 'last' good words and the feeling in his chest was unbearable as he called out for his dad as he fell into the darkness below.
But Rana, she needed him. "I'm coming." Running over to her he did what he could to position her comfortably and dragged her towards the den, there was no way they could have the cubs out here, not like this.
