After turns waking to the ocean sunrise, D’amir was naturally an early riser. Still… this was pushing it a little. Go on, get up there, he sighed to his dragon, then kicked the covers off.
Delfrith was ecstatic, eyes a bright, dark blue-violet as they focused on the bright shape ascending into the sky… even if the timing was a little inconvenient, this was a queen! And already there were other bronzes rising to pursue. I wake, Killakeeth! My eyes have opened to see only you this day!
As the bronze launched himself into the air, his rider made his way outside, pausing to tighten his belt and straighten his shirt before wandering off to find a place with a good view. If he happened to meet a lady during the flight, he’d prefer to look presentable in the event that she invited him back to her weyr… though that sort of socializing at this time of day was something akin to drinking first thing in the morning. Just a little too early (or was that late?) for it to be truly satisfying.
Rider: D’amir, former sailor and trader. A deceptively cheery bloke who’s good with words, but is kind of lazy. Open to having a kid? Y Dragon: Delfrith, big cuddly dragon at your service. A good shoulder to cry on, but forgetful as a goldfish. Color: Bronze

E'nyn shifted from where he had been in a deep, restless sleep. The rider opened violet-blue eyes, knowing full well what his beast of a bronze intended even before he reached out to touch the mind of his Beloved. What he felt burned. The passion, the lust, the desire, the need practically overwhelmed the man. His dragon had always run hot-blooded and fierce, a bestial creature that was so out of place against E'nyn's more genteel nature. They were opposites through-and-through, and yet, the two somehow made it work. It wasn't a chore, really--could one's lifemate ever be considered such a thing?--but it wasn't easy, either.
Thuhoth wasn't easy.
He was large, heavy, slow, and had a penchant for fighting. Scarred up from past flights and Threadscore, frayed wing sails, and missing bits here and there from either The Enemy, or his enemies, he was not particularly pretty. He wasn't particularly loyal either. The bronze used what he wanted, when he wanted, as he wanted; he was well practiced in flights, but never shared his wallow for long. Golds were no different. Some thought him a heartless beast, but E'nyn knew better.
Go then, love. Spread your wings, chase the morning, and may you be granted what you seek. Whether or not that was Killakeeth, or perhaps instead causing trouble, E'nyn couldn't say. What he did know, though, was that he felt suddenly very cramped within his weyr. He needed to get outside, needed to spread his own wings, needed to--no. Yes. Maybe. Bah.
Clipping back bed-touseled blond locks, the man slipped into a pair of pants, and grabbed a shirt. He didn't bother to button it, but instead, very purposefully kept it open. Let them see the faint tattoos, the threadscore. He'd always been told he'd make a beautiful Courtesan; he'd always been told he'd be able to marry any Holder or Lady who looked his way. E'nyn was a lovely little thing... and he had always thought, upon being Searched, he'd find his match in a just as delicate little green. Thuhoth, though, had had different plans. They were an odd pair, but E'nyn didn't mind.
Let Thuhoth have his time in the sun. E'nyn would see what the rest of the morning might bring lost in a flightlust haze.
Thuhoth took to the skies, landing on the heights of Western Weyr, and bugling a challenge to those who had arrived. His eyes whirled a deep purple-red, and he kept his wings unfurled. I am awake, and ready to hunt. He rumbled, staring balefully at the queen before taking just a moment to look at the brood of bronze and browns. Bunch of weyrlings, all of 'em... If it was talons she wanted, Thuhoth was ready to prove his strength to her, and to others of Western Weyr.

And are we your dragons, fair one? Reyneth replied, rousing himself from a morning nap. Or are you, rather, hoping to be ours? One of theirs, at any rate. The bronze's lust awoke with the same immediacy as his body, propelling him off of his comfortable ledge to find the knot of competitors that had already begun to form. There was only a slight pause in consideration for his missing forearm, but Reynath had become adept enough at taking off with such a hindrance.
His rider, on the other hand, was not nearly so prepared. A hand pushed heavy furs away, followed by another. ... Hm. Whose bed was he in? His own, it seemed. Levering himself up, J'tar finally gave into the inevitable. There was no chance that his sleep would continue uninterrupted, not with the violet lust whirling through his - now absent - Reyneth's gaze.
Ah well. It was a lost cause anyway.. and there were other games afoot. He combed his fingers through his blond hair, raking it into some semblance of neatness. A slight consideration was made for possible partners in the form of a change of clothes, but J'tar didn't care to spend much time in preparations. With a jaunty whistle, he left his weyr, shrugging into his tunic on the way. Time to go a-hunting.

J'xsen was not a morning person. He was sleeping off the previous night's excesses when a sharp mental jolt accompanied by a loud trumpeting from the ledge of his weyr woke him. The jolt hit a certain part of his brain that had him suddenly contemplating if any of the girls in the Lower Caverns were free.
Killakeeth rises! I must chase her! Zukiath announcd with another loud trumpet. May I chase her, Mine?
"Rises? Oh shards, a gold flight..." J'xsen sat up and scrubbed his hand through his hair. "Yeah, go, have fun. I'll just be here in my bed, all alone." Though, he thought, he didn't have to be alone....
Glorious Killakeet! I come to claim you! The big brown leapt off his ledge and with a few powerful wingbeats entered the chase. My golden beauty, you will be mine!

Besciuth was watching the beauty of the dawn, when he saw something that was even more lovely in his eyes. His gentle blue eyes took on a bright purple look as he watched Killakeeth take to the skies, she really was a sight to belold. His hearts stirred in his chest as she called out to all the dragons of the Weyr and he wanted to rise to give chase. He noticed plenty of other browns and some bronzes already doing so. However, would he even be a match for any of them or was it pointless to try?
Now don't you start doubting yourself, you are better than all of them put together. Go up there and show that gold what a magnificent beast you are, Besciuth. I know you can do it,Caltor's sleepy voice thought into his dragon's brain. He had gotten enough through his connection to his beloved brown to know what was going on. He had enough confidence for both of them as he got out of bed, getting himself ready.
Do you really think so, Mine? I..I guess I could try. Are you going to be alright while I am gone?the brown asked. Though he knew that was a silly question, his rider was the sure one of the pair. As he felt the assurance of the other, he pushed out of his beach wallow and rose into the sky. He didn't have all the fancy words of some of the others, but he was going to give it his all.
Beautiful Killakeeth, I look forward to giving chase. I do hope you find me worthy, even if I am not as flashy as some of the others, the brown thought to her earnestly.
Meanwhile, the pirate made Western Weyr rider had finally made sure he looked impeccable, before searching out the rider of the golden queen now in the air.

The impressive gathering pleased Killakeeth as the bronzes and browns collected quickly from various places around the weyr. Some she made notes of, including Phylideth, Wolveth, Sigurath, and Nasath.
The mention of food and a feast particularly caught her attention, well said Dhumavath. I intend to pick only the best morsel. Killakeeth snorted at Reyneth’s silly question. You are of course mine, she stated. Maybe only if you can catch me Zukiath! Flashy doesn’t matter if it’s the best Besciuth.
Some of you claim to be the best, but you’ll have to prove it with more than just your words! Killakeeth shifted from her slightly leisurely climb into one that would get her as high as fast as possible. Her great wings flashing as the top of the sun tipped over the horizon. The chase was on!

As Delfrith moved into the pack and other males drew close, a flash of red seeped into his eyes. It didn't last long, though. With a deep rumble, he tucked his paws into his chest and powered past quite a few of them, matching wingbeats with some of the foremost fliers. His eyes were again focused on Killakeeth, and he let out a lusty bellow from deep in his broad chest.
D'amir jogged along below, head craned upward. Pace yourself, Delf. We've only just started.
I can outlast any of these others! the bronze crowed back. Just you watch!
The man just chuckled and shook his head. Those shining ladies evoked such ridiculous boasting and delusions of grandeur from his otherwise gentle lifemate. But maybe, just maybe, he'd get lucky this time.

Just as the true sun peeked over the horizon, Killakeeth decided that enough dragons had gathered to begin. She shot up into the air and Turoth turned his slow circles into a steep ascent, large wings beating slowly but powerfully to haul himself skyward. He didn't want to get too close too soon nor did he want to overshoot the golden queen, for this was a chase, not a race. He knew he'd have some stiff competition from the other dragons especially since Killakeeth hadn't spared him a glance at the start, but he'd been around the block a few times and he knew how to play the game.
Words can be fleeting, shining Killakeeth, he agreed as his hearts pumped faster, his lungs hauling in as much air as they could as he pursued the golden queen. But actions and words together create a promise. Watch and see what I will promise to you. His gentle, kind persona matched with his powerful body was a perfect blend for a doting father, one that would be loving and kind but protective and able to provide for anything Killakeeth would need. He had sired a clutch once before and had proven himself then, but this was a new queen and he was ready to make that commitment all over again.

NPC K'srin of Bronze Cyndreth Prove with more than his words? Well, Cyndreth could do that, following Killakeeth in her rapid climb upwards. Do not think you can outpace me, he said, snarling, his eyes trained on the gold. There is no better mate for you than I, factually speaking--and none better for me, than you. He desired her, of course, and in that moment, he desired her more than anything. Still, he did not near the front of the pack, despite his words, but remained as a solid presence. Watching, waiting...

F'ell's stomach was really, really hurting, and it felt as though something was pressing down on his back. He knew it was just Teth's emotions flooding in, the young brown zooming towards the gold with a zeal that the rider admittedly hadn't seen before in his beast. Teth loved to chase, he really did, and each flight was given his all; maybe this gold flight was just Teth's all and then some?
Either way the rider felt sick and there was no ignoring the throbbing. He could try and sleep it off, it was early yet, but he burned too much. Who was there though? Who could he find? Maybe some alcohol.
As for the brown dragon, Teth gave a bugle of approval as the chase seemed to begin. He didn't care that he was acting slightly a fool - it was better (in his mind) to show how much he appreciated Killa with his actions rather than sticky words. People used words too often to say things they didn't mean, but Teth knew that motions conveyed a whole lot more.
And so when she charged forward, he did too - his powerful wings carrying him with a strong push despite how normally slow a large dragon could be. I'm chasing!!!! You're so lovely and so lucky, everyone here is just for you! I'm just for you!!!!! Excitement and affection oozed from him, hitting all the dragons about like a sucker punch of "why".

Nasath twisted wide to circle about his golden fixation, veering away from Phylideth and turning in a wide arc, keeping pace with Killakeeth (though at some wingspans' length) as she spun and soared and greeted her many suitors. From every angle she was lovely, broad and strong and glimmering—why waste any more time than he had to on the other males? They were not the object of his blossoming affections and desire, she was, and she deserved his attentions far more than some measly browns and not-himself bronzes ever could.
She did not speak to him, of course—that would be too obvious, too bold, and it would be cruel of her to show him her favor (which he was certain he had, he'd seen the way her purpled eye slid over him, her passion and desire bared and matched to his own) so early on. He trilled, bright as brass and keen to her as she looked his way, letting the early dawn light ripple along his flanks and wings. They were to parts of a pair, if you asked him: two halves of a whole—no! They both were perfect and complete, but wonderfully complimentary. Two binary stars locked in orbit with each other. And when Rukbat arose at last at the same moment he thought as much, throwing its light onto her and making her shine even brighter, until she was nearly blinding to look at...!
But his instincts were strong, and his drive stronger. His wings were broad and powerful, and with a few easy strokes he powered upwards after her, shooting along in her wake, undeterred. Let me be the one to fulfill your every wish, glorious, golden Killakeeth. As high as you want, as long as you want; anything you would have of me, I will give! Together we could pluck Rukbat itself from the sky, I think—and crack it like a wherry egg, and drink it all, you and I! Think how we'd glitter then, lovely Killakeeth...!

Nasath was here. Phylideth immediately prickled, that particular bronze the only dragon that could have dragged his attention from the glowing Killakeeth right then. But only for a moment as T'mor, even half asleep with his face buried in Amiari's hair, nudged him back in line. Killakeeth is the o'r way, buddy, he reminded and Phylideth held back the desire to snap his teeth at his former Wingsecond.
If he got too close, though.....
Instead, he kept whirling eyes, all purples with traces of reds (none of that for the lovely gold, however) on the one who had summoned a throng of pursuers, of admirers, of those that the brown would have to show up. I have proven myself capable of responsibility and status and have the power to back it up, if I must. He'd tear down the others from the sky if he had to - and Nasath was still looking so tempting, so close.
In fact, they were all looking rather tempting, and the brown let out a low rumble towards any suitor who drew too close to his position. He would not be shy about his claws.

The other males in the air had Wolveth's eyes colored red as they whirled, though flecks of purple still were seen as the brown focused upon the golden form that was ahead of them.
His muscled form surged after her, pushing himself through the air, though he did snap at any male who dared to get too close to him. Let them try and take this queen from him, if they truly wanted her they would have to fight for her.
Not much of a talker, especially a sweet talker, Wolveth was determined to let his actions speak louder then words themselves. Killakeeth. Let us show you how strong we are! Your brood should be the strongest ones to be hatched!

Ah HEIGHT was her desire. With a low thrum of pleasure, his wings spread wide and he began his ascent after her with a strong pump of his wings. The glimmer of his bronze hide was clear in the sunlight, and Sigurath was prepared to give this female everything. I will give you EVERYTHING, darling Killakeeth.
