The Green Olive egg was moving. Shaking gently in place, with slight tremors going up two sides as the infant within clearly attempted to breach the shell. A loud crack sounded, but only a tiny sliver of shell broke off from the rest. The large egg made a ponderous wobble... and then rolled fully onto its side.

Candidate Tarnaria of High Reaches

What an hour to be up and about! But then, they'd been up incredibly early for the last hatching, hadn't they? Her leg still smarted, but it had be healing quite well, at least, and being used to getting up early to help with some of the baking before her Candidate chores had been to Tarnaria's advantage today. It didn't make her any less groggy, of course, and she stifled a yawn as she watched the eggs. Hopefully... Hopefully things went well today. Her mind wasn't yet awake enough to think of bread, only wondering how life would be if she Impressed a Western dragon. It was a world away from the Northern Continent, here in the tropical Western Continent. Letting out a small hum, she glanced at the other candidates.

Nemo of Green Lokith and Jacomus of (absent) Bronze Kraketh

Finding a good spot, Nemo hummed and watched. "Hasn't started yet, but that egg there..." He pointed, "It looks like it's getting ready to hatch."

Beside him, having gotten a lift up from below, Jacomus could only hum. He had his arms crossed, watching, while keeping an ear out. At the concerned look the older rider gave him, he shook his head, "Sorry, just... Last time I was at a hatching..."

"It happens. Lokith gets mouthy sometimes, and training doesn't always tamper that down." He inclined his head, then asked, "How have things been since that social disaster?"

"I told Kraketh he's not allowed to chase for a while, and as you can see..." Jacomus motioned, "I didn't let him come watch. Unless you meant with..."

Nemo took a seat, shrugging. "I meant whatever you think I meant. He's here somewhere, though, so I could always ask him instead."

Jacomus only sighed and sat down.

However, Casgar wasn't quite as far as Jacomus seemed to think. He was, it must be admitted, not entirely a morning person. As utterly humiliated as he had been by the entire fiasco at High Reaches, it could not be denied that Jacomus had taken corrective action after the fallout. ... Perhaps Casgar had been a bit cool, but he certainly still cared. After all, he'd always had a terrible penchant for pirates.

With the Hatching started, he'd been in the kitchens ordering the staff to get started on Feast preparations. This time he had been promised that High Reaches would be attending, so they would have quite a lot of mouths to feed. Already exhausted, the Headman trudged back out to the Sands, keen to spend a little bit of time watching the goings on. He threaded his way carefully up the stands, before at last coming to stop beside a familiar pair. "Is this seat taken?" he asked softly, not completely sure that he was welcome beside Jacomus.

Lelte

If she was bouncing from foot to foot a bit more from excitement than the heat of the sands, well, it was to be expected, right? After all, the eggs hatching was a very big deal, and if that one little one seemed ready to leave it's shell, then it was something to be happy about. The petite seventeen turn old couldn't help the little hop and almost reached over to grab the arm of the candidate next to her, though since she didn't know them, or if her exuberance would be welcome, she managed to refrain. Just.

Kiri:
It was happening.

The young woman hardly knew what to think, much less how to feel, about the Hatchlings. While the Candidates stumbled around madly, hastily cleaning, throwing on robes, and trying to figure out what to think and what might come--Kiri felt far more pensive.

... Was this a mistake?

It was a little too late to feel such things, and part of her immediately felt a swell of guilt when the thought teased across her mind, but she had to wonder. Now that she would be faced with dragonets again... Now that she would be on the hot sands... Would there be a Cadereth among this lot? Would someone else's life be cut short? There was a strong probability... Especially if this Hatching was at all like Spooky's. Could she handle it?

.... yes. Yes, she could, and she would. K'din was a dragonrider. Shinnikan had been a dragonrider. The least she could do was hold her head high, and prove that she was every bit as strong and capable as any other rider in the Weyr. Even if she never found a match, what had happened at High Reaches was not what would happen today. She wouldn't live in the past... Thread had taken her parents, Thread would likely take K'din from her, and a dragon had taken Shinnikan; nobody said dragonriding was easy, or fun. Riders lost loved ones to Threadfall; riders lost children to dragonets, and yet... Pern would be lost if riders faultered or grew afraid.

Kiri would not be afraid. Life wasn't always kind, and she was fierce enough to handle whatever happened, come what may.

Though her throat tightened, even as she pulled on her Candidate robe--she had gotten a new one since her brother's death, the old one long since discarded--but she pushed those thoughts aside. Shinnikan could have well died in weyrling training, even if Cadereth hadn't gotten him; accidents happened. She would stay alert on the Sands, and try her damnedest to make sure no one else did anything stupid... or turned their backs with a dragonet so near.

Felidae gave a small creel. "You stay put, or at least out of the way." She gently ordered, knowing full well the bronze would listen. The flit gave a cheep, before zooming off. Kiri wondered if he went out to find Vice.

By the time the girl made it to the Hatching sands, she bowed to Killakeeth and Teth, and stared hard at the eggs. She didn't want to think negative things; wouldn't let herself. Instead, she thought of how lovely they looked; how strong, fierce, and capable Threadfighters they'd be; how badly Pern needed them; and how happy everyone would be once they broke shell.

Her eyes turned to the Olive Egg, watching as it began to visibly shake. The rest of the eggs were still... Well, there was time. Glancing around, she looked up at those entering the Sands, and wondered if K'din would be joining them, or C'ryn... Though the hour was just as late at High Reaches as it was here. And what of Ky'ra? The girl wasn't sure if her friend would be able to make it, given the damage she had taken a few Falls prior... Still, she hoped.
It would be nice...

Ah, but her eyes needed to be on the eggs, or at least on the Sands. The brown-haired girl wondered if she should seek someone out. Huarwar, maybe? He knew what she was going through... And yet, she also was certain he'd prefer another girl's company--not that she'd blame him.
Bukichi? She didn't know him well, but... they'd had a few solid conversations. Still, she didn't see him, either. But then...ah-ha! Someone familiar did catch her eye, and she smiled.

"Aryale," she greeted, moving up so she might come stand next to the other. "Gonna be a long night, tonight." She greeted with a small smile. Whether they Impressed or not, sleep wasn't on the books for anyone anytime soon.

Rasthell:
The red-haired man wasn't sure how to feel, as he stepped upon the hot-sands for the umpteenth time, and bowed to Killakeeth and Teth. Unlike the last time, he didn't have D'zol with him; this time, the first time in a long time, he was standing alone. Ah, but...uh, he knew those thoughts likely weren't the sort of things A'ral wanted them to think. Dragons watned welcome; dragons wanted joy; dragons wanted.... people like D'zol.

He ran fingers through his hair, looking at the eggs. The great big green egg was wobbling, and the first sound of a crack helped draw his attention. Any one of these eggs could have a dragon inside for him, and yet... How did one actually get a dragon? Was there anything he could say or do that would change the outcome? Was it pure chance? Luck? Was it truly just good thoughts and welcome? Nobody ever knew what to think, or how to really act... Just to not be afraid, to stay out of the way....

Mph.

"Come on, little buddies," he murmured, mostly to himself, too far from the eggs for any of them to hear. Still, it was encouragement. Technically. If he focused on encouraging them to break those shells, he wouldn't have to think of a particular someone again. These babies deserves his undivided attention, after all.

[Rasthell's open for interaction!]

The egg gave another great shudder... seemingly attempting to right itself, before flopping again. It had managed to roll in a semi-circle, with the bright red top showing now. The Green Olive egg wasn't quite done. Drat.

Another egg gave a sudden tumultuous lurch, as the being inside became quite aware that something was going on. The Night Sky Egg shifted this way and that, the infant within testing the confines of it shell. Check this out, y'all! Twitch. Shift. Jerk. Whatever was inside definitely was working on making its way out...

Brenley

Brenley was accustomed to sleeping lightly due to years of necessity. There were always potential dangers to run from when one lived outside the protection of a weyr, and the fact that he lived in one now hadn't changed his habits. He was ready in a matter of minutes, quietly trailing through the dark and onto the sands. After a bow to the gold and her brown, Bren's bright eyes scanned the candidates already assembled as he looked for someone to orbit.

Moments later, he was standing a few feet from Aryale and Kiri. If either of them glanced his way, he would smile a bit before his attention turned back to the shaking Olive and Night Sky Eggs.

Korbet

Khorum's status as a sometime-trader had barely gotten Korbet into Western Weyr earlier this week, but once he was here, he'd made it a mission to be right where he was now: climbing into the stands at Killakeeth's hatching. He would finish this play. He would be happy for those who Impressed tonight. He would capture their excitement and paralyzing joy with such accuracy that his troupe's patron would contract them to write and perform a dozen more shows.

He wouldn't be jealous. He had moved past that feeling once, only to have it well up when he'd least expected it. He would have closure. This would be good for him.

Around Korbet's shoulders, a single, deep green firelizard wiggled in her sleep as her keeper settled into his seat.

Rykin

Rykin stifled a wide yawn as he watched the eggs rock with determination. He was nervous, yes, but not quite nervous enough to quell his exhaustion. Still, the young man stood up straighter, trying to hide any discomfort he might have felt for the sake of the hatching dragons. At the very least his feet were nice and warm.

Astriana (Western Candidate, Her)

Astriana felt like she had just laid her head down, when the sound of humming had her waking quickly. She looked to her flits, who had joined in the hum of their cousins, before A'ral's voice spoke up. She got to her feet quickly and washed up, like they had been instructed to do. Then she got into her white candidate robes and sandals, it really was second nature to her. She gave instructions to her flits to go find her uncle and stay with him until the hatching was over. Watching as the blinked out of sight, she could finish getting ready. She stifled a small yawn, with how early it was, before she filed out with the rest of the candidates. Though her face did not show it, her eyes revealed how nervous she was about this. Was this going to be the time she would meet her dragon or would she be left on the sands once more?

As they arrived on the sands, she bowed to the Killakeeth and Teth, along with their riders. Then she looked around for a friend of her's she had made since the touching. Normally, she would have had Etansi with her, but her friend was in the infirmary, having gotten pretty sick. That thought reminded her of a pair of friends who would also be in the infirmary, instead of in the stands...Ezyzu and Khamaith. They had been hurt during the last Threadfall, so she would have to visit all three of them after the hatching, with or without a baby dragon. The young woman could only hope that her family some of her rider friends would be in the stands..along with a blue rider who had captured her heart. As her eyes scanned over the crowd, she noticed Marinel all by himself. Normally, she would just ignore him, his twin brother one of the people she couldn't stand. However, for whatever reason, she felt sympathy for him. So as soon as she spotted her friend, she walked over to Marinel.

"Come on, you can't be here by yourself,"she told him. After all, she had for a couple since her brother impressed, but she couldn't do it to Marinel. So taking his arm, she dragged him over to where she saw Stormy standing.

"Hope you don't mind I brought some more company. Etansi would have joined us, but I think the healers don't think she is ready,"she told her friend in an even voice. She hoped Stormy had picked up her cues in her eyes, seeing the happiness of seeing her friend. Her ice blue eyes went to the sands, seeing the green olive egg already starting to move. She mentally cheered it on, as it continued to shake, even though only a piece had broken off so far. Night sky seemed to want to join in the fun, so began shaking as well.

((Marinel moved with Thali's permission. And Demanthra and Monath are around, if you want to interact with them. Same for Edalla/Moilath and Pemli/Ningesth. Also, anyone can come join the trio, if you want)

Marinel almost startled at the sound of Astri’s voice. He was well aware of how she felt about him, despite not knowing exactly why. Having her invite him to stand with her was surprising.

Surprising, but it wasn’t unappreciated. He was dragged over to someone Astri seemed to know. He didn’t recognize the girl (Stormy), but he greeted her. “Hey,” he said. “They always seem to catch us off guard.”

Morning, on an island, or nighttime... It didn’t matter! His attention was on the green olive egg as it struggled, and then another egg seemed to want to hatch. Which would come first?

Keris - High Reaches Weyr - Standidate - She/Her

The day had been plenty full on it’s own. Days had ticked by as the countdown to the hatching at Western Weyr had worn on. Her nerves had jumped at any signs, as she had buried her worry deeper. She had had her heart and mind in scattered directions -- for she had come to watch, purely, to watch her.. dear friend Phryana stand for possible impression. Friend was hardly a suitable word for what her heart ached, yet she could only bury the hatchet a bit further. This hatching very well might seal her fate, after all.

Yet the idle thoughts that rolled in, a flicker of...daresay, hope? that tried to bloom up… Western Weyr’s candidates didn’t age out at 25, and she herself was still above 30... It was a child’s dream, one she hadn’t let go.. But it was hard to let go of the little girl who dreamed dragons would save her, after all. She’d done all she could to assure Argoth that all had been well -- after all, would a baby dragon want her? Likely not. She was quite content to live her life in High Reaches Weyr, raising her son and being the arm candy for Ulix. A wingsecond now, the pride in her was genuine for his achievement -- with so much left to do, certainly.

Yet when Argoth’s warning came of the hatching came, despite winding down for the evening, Keris had been quick into action to get ready. It certainly wasn’t her best, but after all the tension between the Weyrs, Keris certainly wasn’t about to show up looking disheveled.

Tucking herself delicately against Ulix’s side, she called up a nice warmth as Argoth’s mind touched hers. Carica, in all her oiled golden splendor, sat rather regally on her shoulder, bright-eyed and alert. “Tired, but certainly awake enough. Best behavior after what happened.. last time.” Her eyes skimmed over the filling sands, the candidates swarming in as she looked for one in particular amongst the crowd -- before the rock and slide of the Olive Egg drew her gaze. “Any thoughts on the first to hatch? I’m thinking.. Brown.” A polite smile -- public appearances, after all, but she was quite partial to the color.

Nonami - Western Weyr - Candidate - They/Them

This was it.. This was well and truly it.

After the talk with dad, Nonami had been feeling marginally more secure in their place as a candidate -- not by much, but they hadn't withdrawn from candidacy. Yet. It was a well of nervous energy as the humming startled them from their sleep--what little they had been getting lately, anyway. Nightmares had still set in, and it was all they could do as they struggled to change into the white robes to empty their mind of all the negativity. Lest there be another repeat of the double clutch…

Running a comb through long, mousy locks, Nonami slipped on the sandals and joined the rest of the candidates filing into the hatching sands. The heat certainly helped wake up the last dredges of sleep as they bowed once to Killakeeth -- and then to Teth as well. Yet now the question became… where did they go? There was no sister to clutch the hand of. The twins weren't in view.. Bright blue eyes flickered through the crowd, trying to find Aryale, Stormy, Aerden.. But instead took a place on the sands off to the side, rubbing their wrist nervously as they tried to keep open, happy thoughts… and not jump when the Olive Egg fell over.

Sam'kel of Blue Kinitarth - High Reaches Weyr - Shuttlebus

With candidate loads dropped off, Sam'kel could finally find someplace to sit down amongst the sands. His dearest dragon had been.. overly insistent in helping shuttle candidates over, and it was the least he could do to help out the Weyr in any way, since they wouldn't be back fighting for some time. His foot ached, his hand ached worse. But for the pleased sunrays that seemed to radiate from Kinitarth, it had been worth it-- if now to find a seat, or to see if K'lar had saved them one…

The little blue had been beside himself to help shuttle candidates over. He had been in a much better place since his injury, and though his rider was still downed, it hadn't stopped Kinitarth from flying to the moons. His candidates were left with small radial warmth and well wishes, overindulging in his job to hope they had the best luck. But he couldn't quite help himself once the job was done, his rider making his slow way into the stands, and Kinitarth was left to flutter his way into the sands to find a good ledge--for himself and his beau. Neirinth, I found quite the ledge for us to watch, whenever you and Yours are done.

Ezyzu and gold Khamaith - Western Weyr - Wingrider

Determination set in her teeth, Ezyzu had refused to let herself miss a second hatching her friends had stood for. While she had been excited -- ecstatic, even -- for those who had impressed at the double clutch at High Reaches, she regretted that she wasn't able to be there. There had been.. initial sadness, but had buoyed herself that goodbye didn't have to be goodbye forever. Yet her injuries sustained during threadfall had certainly given this trot from the infirmary to the hatching cavern more effort than it used to do, even after leaning heavily on a cane. Yet Ezyzu had cleaned up and changed the best she could, proudly making her way up into the stands to sit. Ascella curled around her neck primly, fussing quietly as the goldrider finally settled and lifted pressure from her injured leg.

At least she had a good vantage point to look around, and pick out familiar faces from the crowd. There, Xanael, as well as Dhawsn.. The twins.. Oh, and Nonami off to the side. Astriana was easy to see, as well. It was a warmth in her heart to come see them, and hope she could see her beloved and friends impress.

Khamaith's pudgy, golden body almost weakly winged up to find herself a ledge that would be large enough for her, and possibly a second dragon. Her back ached in ways that she was still getting used to, even after almost a month into her healing. Yet she was able to fly, if slow and carefully. So she landed with as much care and grace as she could, a pleased trill overpowering her hum as she settled down carefully on her haunches, before spilling over onto her side. Much comfier, at least until she could return to her warm wallow.

Yet from this view, she was able to get a nice view of the different dragons of Western Weyr that were gathering. The stands began to fill out, and candidates were filling in around the centerpieces -- the eggs, and the proud parents. The eggs themselves were gorgeous, lovely in a way that warmed the motherly gold -- and a part of her hummed at the pleased little thought about a clutch of her own.

Reaching out, she sent a blooming wildflower field of warmth and love to her beloved Baihath, unsure if he would feel well enough to come watch with her. I have a nice ledge if you are able and wanting to join me, my Baihath.

Yet she couldn’t help but to look around, curious as to the whereabouts of dragons that she so adored -- Susurinth, even if Khamaith was still timidly guilty of upsetting her mother. Aleyath, wonderfully sparkling friend. Aspalath, her dear, timid brother. Yet as she peered down into the candidates, she couldn’t help but to be proud of some of the candidates she knew -- though Etansi was not among them this time. Her thoughts brushed, warm and loving, against Dhawsn’s, Astriana’s, and Xanael’s minds -- not wanting to distract them from their most important day, but to wish them the best of luck finding Theirs.

Cortun and white Menyherth - Western Weyr - Wingleader

Eggs always seemed to have a timetable of their own when they were ready -- and it seemed that the middle of the night was a good time to them -- who was he to argue? Cortun can’t help the small bubble of excitement, for he hadn’t been so excited before. Surely all hatchings were exciting, marginally less when you were astride your own dragon. However, with Sorcha standing once more, and his new position, he can’t help but to be even more excited to see the newly impressed weyrlings that he could be counting on as part of his Star Flame family.

This excitement has nothing to do with a certain greenrider? From up on his perch, Menyherth could only be amused.

Certainly not. A lie. Considering he stood slightly from his seat, eyes scanning among the crowd for Xela. You know very well that I’m excited to see Sorcha stand. I have a good feeling this time.

The amusement rolls off Menyherth a touch harder, as he reaches out to Sorcha with a soft wave of love. Cortun and I send our love and luck. We will see you soon.

Xanael

He didn't have to wait overly long, none of them did, before one of the eggs started to shake and then fall over and roll. Xanael watched curiously, eyes flicking between the olive egg and then the next egg, a starry one, that started shaking as well. It wouldn't be long now, they would be cracking and rushing out onto the sands to find their riders, find their bonded.

It was dangerous, from his memories of the two previous hatchings he'd stood at.

Not that it was going to stop him, there was hope. A flash caught his attention and Xan watched as Khamaith flew up to a ledge, a flicker of hope in his chest. She looked like she was doing better, not greatly, but better. That meant that Ezyzu might be feeling better. If they could fight that hard, then no matter how anxious he felt, buried deep below the state of calm he was actively forcing on himself to still his fluttering heart, then he could stand here and face babies. They were less dangerous than Thread, they were...

Xan swallowed and found a calm place, a little runner foal, the smell of hay. His heart stopped hammering.

Etansi

A crowd was walking into the hatching caverns, a large enough crowd that a little shadow that was scampering from shadow to shadow was barely noticed if it was at all. With the blanket wrapped around it's thin form, it was hard to tell exactly who was under it and what they were doing, other than stopping every few feet or so to wheeze and cough despite how they were trying to be unnoticed. There wasn't much that she could do to keep herself entirely unseen with this hack, but the way she kept switching between sweating and freezing wasn't helping either. After a long time in the tunnel to the entrance she finally gazed out over the sands and for just a moment... she hesitated.

Not in white candidate robes, not in any way healthy enough to stand out on those sands, but still Etansi... wished. She would have to wait so long again, maybe for the rest of her Candidacy, because her dragon could be out there and there would be no way they'd find her. A cough wracked her body and one of the people moving around her reached out a hand that had her recoil and scamper up into the stands.

One flight... two flights... the little girl leaned heavily on a bench and panted, her eyes had brilliant stars flashing before them as the edges darkened. Not very far up then, at least that would put her near the bottom if she had to run away from the Healers, even if she was hoping they would be too interested in the Hatching to notice one sick little girl missing. She was very easy to miss. Slowly, carefully, she inched down to find a seat and pulled the blanket tighter around herself, careful to see if anyone around her might have known her before turning her face out towards the sands.

Dhawsn, Astriana... a sad look crossed her face and she wished she was standing beside them as a dark head snaked up out of the opening around her face. Etan nosed at her cheek and then disappeared again.

F'nar & Neirinth - High Reaches transport

It was interesting to see Western Weyr, having never once been on the Western Continent in his life, F'nar couldn't say the mountains were the wrong decision for him. It was so very hot here! He was at least a little sweaty by the time the last Candidate was deposited into the Bowl, grateful that it was late in the cool night and not during the burning hotness of mid-day or something even more unbearable.

To his credit, Neirinth didn't at all seem to mind and was focused... well, entirely on something different. On something romantic involving a beautiful little blue that was already calling his name as the large brown made his way into the cavern himself. Purple bled into his large eyes as his head swiveled to find him "Oh go on then." F'nar offered, one hand slapping his brown's leg gently as he started to walk up into the sands. A rumble of approval left Neirinth and he gave a strong leap, winging his way up to the ledge his little glass blue sunshine lay. And quite the ledge it is sweet one. You've a sharp eye for comfortable spaces and incredible views.

Gently the sparkle swirled brown nosed at Kinitarth's neck and jaw before laying down and draping a huge wing over him protectively. Have you any bets on the Candidates we brought impressing on these sands lovely?

Sarbath

Liaven had settled himself into the stands and seemed rather uninterested in the entire affair. Though to his credit he likely was, as he had one of those little papers in his hand and was trying to take notes on what he was seeing, it being the second hatching he'd ever seen. Sarbath was terribly bored. From the ledge that she was sitting on she could see everything and it was exciting beyond words when she saw her largest sister appear and go to find her own ledge. It appeared it was one made for quite the large dragon that might want to use it, so she had no issues at all slinking off her own and floating through the air to Khamaith's.

Sister! I'm so glad that you're feeling well enough to come! Are you excited to see the new babies!? For there to be new weyrlings around Western?! Sarbath had started talking to, or rather at, her sister the moment her comically short front legs touched the stone of the ledge, her eyes dancing between blue, green, and purples as she patted the larger gold's tail. How's Baihath? Is brother okay!? The long green's exuberance began to pour out from her the more the eggs wiggled on the sands.

Is it time?

Is it time now?

How about now?

With a visible shiver, Mint Chocolate Chip assessed the situation. Oh, yes. Looks like it’s time! Like its much larger egg-sibling, the spotted egg wibbled and wobbled until it clean knocked itself over, the fall smooth, soft and totally intended.

TETH

Teth's heart was singing (and he probably was too, loudly) at the movement of his eggs. It didn't matter that he'd been yanked from a dead sleep, or that the eggs weren't entirely his (Killakeeth did all the work, really), the joy and love was unstoppable. It only grew as dragons from High Reaches began to appear, and when a certain blue showed up he was about to call out - only to be shut down by an excessively bleary F'ell. His rider wasn't a morning person, or afternoon person, and the normally disheveled teen looked even worse for the wear. Thank Faranth no one he knew or loved could see him now, right?

Teth, shut up and leave him alone. The warning came with some mental yawns, though there was unmistakably hints of excitement. Very, very small hints, but hints none the less. New babies were always delightful, and if this clutch didn't end up with kids heavily mauled and/or dead then he could say Teth did just as well as that Bronze-sired clutch from yester-Turn. Or, you know, it would prevent Teth from being in tears forever. If, and I mean if he wants to see you, he'll come see you. Otherwise, focus. Your children are coming.

Teth honked a little at the chiding remarks, but focused his love and devotion back towards the sands. Two - no, three!!! eggs had moved and he was so proud of the energy and devotion his babies were showing!!! I'm so excited to meet you!!!! I've loved you forever!!!!! The excited voice swept over the sands, dedicated to candidates and eggs alike. Maybe even a few dragons would get to hear it, though those of Western knew such words and pure devotion was simply just....Teth.

FISHER

Maybe a Turn at the Weyr had made things a bit easier for Fisher to process, but that didn't mean she wasn't yawning as she shuffled out onto the Sands. A few faces stuck out to her here, none too familiar, and so she settled for standing by herself. It was easy, even with the brown sire acting a fool around them, and the bows were given as Fisher watched some of the eggs fall.

Were they going to serve breakfast at the Feast? Fisher could only hope for a really tasty breakfast and not a four-course dinner at dawn.

She...she could really go for some eggs.

VEIKEL

Having been cleared to work by nature of the fact all healers were needed and it wasn't like he was injured, Veikel happily stood with the group of healers ready to take care of the candidates on the sands.

Nikal, though he probably didn't see it, got blown a huge kiss and given two massive thumbs up as soon as the older man spotted his beloved baby brother.

Rio

Shards, but it was late! So late that it was also early. Regardless of the hour, though, Rio was up within moments, and ready soon after that. Robes on was the most important bit, and he ran a hand through his hair on the way to the Sands. If he looked a bit tousled, well, he'd never minded that look, so his own appearance was easily put quite out of mind. By the time they reached the Sands, he'd even managed to rub most of the sleep out of his eyes, and the sight of the rocking eggs was enough to banish any lingering tiredness. It was time! Would the scritch-loving dragon from inside the Teal and Yellow Egg remember him? Not that he felt that had a special bond or that it was likely to be his, but he had promised it more scritches, and he would be very happy to provide, if it remembered and wanted.

In the meantime, he sidled up to a familiar red-haired figure and clapped Rasthell on the shoulder, smiling brightly. "This batch sure has interesting timing, don't they?"

Nashwa

In spite of the hour, Nashwa was up and prepared calmly and efficiently, robes on and hair in order, and was to the Stands with the rest of the group. She noticed that, as always, many of the candidates paired up or formed little groups, and while she wasn't averse to company on the Sands, she opted not to seek it out directly. Not that she was without friends or acquaintances to stand beside, but she was content enough to just be among the larger group, with her focus on the eggs - and the hatchlings that would soon break free of them - rather than on socialization. The support would be quite nice, but, well...she would do just fine where she was, she was sure.
