He didn't rise slowly at all, in fact Lajoth didn't really know the meaning of the words 'slowly' or 'reserved', the pale blue gave everything he had all the time. His wings pumped against the wind as Sahrawith flashed her patchwork shimmering wings, watching with eyes that instantly flooded with purple. Merope reached out and touched at that lust curiously for just a moment and then he could feel his rider flop back on her bed, an arm thrown over her eyes as if she could block out the setting sun, as if she could block it all out as she lay and sweat.

A bugle of amusement erupted from him at her challenge, at his rider's ennui, with a flash sunlight seemed to dance off of Lajoth's frame and he followed the little pale green through the air. I might not catch you but it'll be so much fun to share the air. To watch you dance in the sky! Especially her pale frame all but glowing like that big metallic bronze that was chasing her, all the different colors of wings chasing after the little green.

He had to give her that she knew how to draw a crowd certainly!

Aleyath chuckled back, her apparent mirth nudging him off course for a moment. He didn't fret. After all, it was still early. The brown picked up speed, rejoining the fray with a cheeky little spin.

Such a strange bunch, he said, pondering Sahrawith's other chasers with interest. You are quite the dragon to attract such a greedy crew. What will you have us do next?

Bronze Rekoriath of J'deen
User Image

The others crooned and babbled, flinging themselves after the prize as she taunted them in a manner more sensual than stinging, displaying her beautiful wings once more. Rekoriath did none of this save watch with a hungry gaze, his pace steady and relentless.

I will do more than try. Not a boast, but a promise. Few slipped from his claws once he decided he wanted them.

Bronze Rekoriath: Almost primordial in nature, tending to act on instinct. His lazy demeanor hides a deceptive cunning, and when he wants something, he pursues it without hesitation.

J'deen: Wiry, strong, and sometimes mean. He's a man who is confident in himself and his lot in life. Don't let his small frame fool you.

Green Chumanath of Merikh

Chumanath had been quite pleased as the prized green and turned to look her way, though that attention had not lasted as long as she would have liked. A blue had taken it from her, well Chumanath would double her focus and make sure this lovely green was hers and hers alone.

Being smaller and lithe she was able to fly quicker then some of the others, her eyes never leaving the lovely jewel.

You're beauty is certainly not matched easily. Let me share with you the rolling pastures I have seen from above. The patterns of so very distant lands. These fools do not even understand the feeling of freedom my dear and yet I can tell you yearn for it.

Merikh's dark eyes moved to the sky as he made his way around the weyr bowl, the dashing smile never leaving his dark features. He wondered if he would try and go find the rising greens rider, perhaps he would make his way there. He was certain even if he didn't find them he could end up with another to take their place very easily.

The chase was on as Sahrawith rushed high into the blue expanse. The heat seemed to make the air around her ripple and distort before her eyes, though that could be said for the same of the vision of the others. It didn't really matter how high they went, the sun would remain the same until it started to lower in the sky before sinking into the sea. If she'd been keener to fly near the ground they wouldn't have been any better off. Plus the ground was so....down and she wanted to spread her wings in the sky. Ever since she could fly, she'd always flown. Before it had been for herself but now it was for those who chased her, eyes dark with just as much purple as her own.

Somehow Asakoth had managed to get the closet to her and Sahrawith wondered if it was because she'd barely noticed him. His words about her choosing well - and not him specifically - received a mental wash, a hand on the cheek as it were. Did he not think she was the most radiant thing and he clearly deserved her? If not, she was moving on. Shoggoth was getting rather aggressive and who wouldn't be flattered to have someone chasing them that was willing to spill ichor? While she herself wasn't the violent sort didn't mean she couldn't appreciate it for the strange sort it was. Chumanath's continued words of locations she'd yet to see would cause her to falter if she focused too long and so that particular green was given a coy mental wink, teasing for more stories as they continued to soar. Her brother rounded out the group second closest, and she tssk'd her tongue at his persistance. Aryath was slow and yet here he was, nearly keeping pace. Perhaps those stories had distracted her too much, even if he was a ridiculously handsome brown who she might need to give a second glance towards.

Beyond them was another group and Sahrawith turned her sights towards the trio; the massive bronze who, while she wouldn't admit it openly (but probably clearly showed it), had caused her hearts to pound when he'd said he'd been waiting. The little green wasn't sure she believed Rekoriath, as Sahrawith was pretty loathe to believe the words of the higher ups - Perhaps that was R'ose's influence in a way more subtle than either of them knew. Lajoth's seemingly giving up nature threatened to spoil her eyes to a red, how dare he talk about himself that way! Was he saying he was too good to catch her, or was it the other way around? Honestly Sahrawith didn't like either thought and so the stranger blue was given a bit of a sniff. Surely blue dragons didn't think themselves above her, right? Not that she'd complain, with Alluith coming up quickly, stating that speed was what would win this. Yes, it would, and the green was given a mental boost. Could she really catch her? Please try, but know Sahrawith was fast.

And in the rear was the brown from afar, the one who seemed to find this all amusing. What would she have you do, Aleyath? Try and catch me. He actually received spoken words, though they might have been laden with exhaustion. She was built for speed, not endurance, and while Sahrawith was somehow managing to keep ahead of the group it was going to cost her.

To those who said they've been waiting for me, that I am fast and beautiful and likely to be claimed... There was a pause as her wings splayed before quickly folding, allowing for a rapid dive. You obviously haven't seen anything yet. Down she sank like a stone tossed from on high, all the while waiting before rolling out through a sharp turn. Acrobatics weren't her forte and she nearly smacked into a tree, but with enough speed everything worked out.

ROUND 2! again, you can roll 1d20 or 2d10! end goal remains: have the lowest score!

the next roll will be tomorrow, saturday, at likely 8 pm EST!

R'ose wasn't likely to make it back to his weyr. Hadn't he already said that? And who exactly were those people that were slowly coming his way? Why did he need to feel more of the wind and sun against his skin when he knew he burned like fire whenever he took his shirt off? Maybe he wanted a different sort now, and it was getting hard to tell himself apart from the being that taunted and flirted far overhead.

". . . . . " Man, he hoped whomever was coming would hurry up.

The larger green was fearless as she dove, seemingly willing to crash against the ground if that was what it too to snare the lithe pretty green. She snarled as she dove, snapping teeth at tails that flicks before her, those of her competitors as well as the minty treat's... A taste, a claim, she wanted it, at any cost. Mine, mine, you're mine, come to me...!

Down in the Weyr, Peresa sulked down into the main level of the tunnels, eyes glazed but burning with want. Was that a figure up ahead? She could not tell who it was, not through the haze of lust and fury, but that made little matter to her. "You...!"

NPC Unaffiliated Rh'tyb and Green Alluith

While not the smartest of dragons, Alluith was far from the dumbest. She wavered and listened, watched -- little mint green was not the most talkative of dragons, was she? But actions screamed louder than any word. Little quiet one, with such attention vying for your own, gleaming little mint jewel. My claws are eager to hold and carry, though I would follow beyond the horizon.

Yet suddenly, the quiet green spoke, such bragging for one so young and to drop like a stone… No matter, Alluith would follow. But her body was not made to let gravity win, and she found her body frustratingly falling behind every suitor. Flashes of blue and bronze rushed by her, though she could only reach out. Her claws skittered and danced over soft, supple hide as she fell behind, though she could spare a moment to admire those who were better at this contest of gravity than her. Weyr-bound or not, she could… appreciate some aspects.

Though you slip further from me, I bide my strength. For indeed, wasn't the most important part of the race the last leg? Instead, she banked some, allowing the distance, and perhaps have a catch on the uprise. She could certainly out-think a youngling, couldn't she?

As Rh'tyb approached, he could see it clear as day. Flushed face, dilated pupils -- young, and decidedly not his taste. No, he'd rather someone like a fine wine, better with age, a bit of flavor and depth. Yet his gaze lingered on one here, one there. Hm...

If Aryath had known that Sahrawith thought him slow he might have laughed, in that good natured shared joke sort of way. He wasn't any slower than another brown of his size but her certainly wasn't a speed dragon of Sahrawith's caliber either. He set to following her, keeping up with another green. What a merry chase you lead! He was aware that she was not built for endurance and was curious how long the flight would last.

Oh she was stuck up!

Laughter escaped him at her sniff and bubbled it's way between them and all those chasing. Still his eyes stayed a deep purple, he'd seen quite a few stuck up dragons in his time and had warned Merope that they would be very common here. You think so, eh? You gonna learn your lesson? Her words were stern in his head as she threw her pillow across the weyr in a mood. Lajoth simply pressed upon her that he had no intention of giving up, though he did allow his wings to take him back, back to the rear of most chasers so he could see who all was following Sahrawith. His purple eyes took them all in curiously before watching the green dive haphazardly.

That looked reckless certainly, but the blue tucked his wings and followed, finding that he had no words for a green dragon that had none for him in return. Still he couldn't shut off the glowing from the inside, so he projected images instead. A sunshower over Western Weyr, waterfalls from the Southern Continent, a view of fish darting around a reef beneath the waves. A lifetime of travels. At the very least Lajoth could have some fun chasing after a pretty green, personality aside.

Rolling her eyes nearly back into her head, Merope rose and stalked out of her room, her light shirt and pants the only things she wore despite being suddenly out in public. She was old enough and secure enough that she didn't care. Not to mention there were a few knives hidden, just let them try. She had no intention of finding the young green's equally young rider, age might be a number to some but being upwards in turns meant that any youngling she found herself with she had to teach the ropes.

No.

The woman stalked down the hallway for something else.

Bronze Rekoriath of J'deen
User Image

Her speed could not be rivaled, but Rekoriath was an old beast with Turns of experience. Where she could flash and streak across the skies in an instant, he could outlast her. Rumbling almost inaudibly, the bronze tracked her movements, his eyes locked onto the little green. The others' milling about didn't even earn a flicker of his attention--he knew what he wanted, and pursued it with almost lazy beats of his impressive wingspan.

He wasn't quite sure when he had ended up trailing so far behind, and he was more surprised to find that it bothered him. Aleyath tried to catch up, but he was well out of range at this point. The brown bellowed impressively, having not used much of his breath to fly quickly or anything, and executed a fancy little twirl.

He wasn't about to overtly draw chasers away from Sahrawith, but if some happened to look his way, he would give them a little show.

She was tired, and this time as she let her wings fold to carry her down it wasn't for acrobatics. This would be the last push; Sahrawith honestly had no idea how some dragons had such long flights or did so many.

NPC Unaffiliated Rh'tyb and Green Alluith

The little green continued to drop further, and further -- almost dead weight in the sky. Yet Alluith was nowhere near them, as her light frame was bound and determined to chase after the rising green in the way she had deemed fit. No, Alluith was bringing up the rear, and all the more frustrated with it, with herself. Her body too light to fall, and even with a slight gain-- it wouldn't be enough. No, one of the dragons closest to her would have to be enough to catch the falling mint star.

You fall beyond my reach, littlest one. Yet let your wings spread wide, for all should see your beauty. She called out to the head of the pack, the falling star with suitors of all chasing colors. She was resplendent but Alluith wasn't one to waste an opportunity.

Backwinging, bright emerald wings had her hanging further back, as her claws reached out to skitter, caress, touch not one but two hides. Not nearly hard enough to draw even a drop of ichor, but to call those in the back to her. Her focus was first on Lagoth, over the bright blues that caught her eye, over his gentler nature. You are darling, dear sweet blue. Daresay I don't know a Weyr dragon's name, but might I get to know the touch of your claws? She veered closer, nestling the top of his head before quickly retreating a touch -- lest Lagoth suddenly show her his teeth instead.

Yet she wasn't overly done with her collection of the loser's club, for there was quite the glittering brown further behind, and though she found herself a touch jealous of his bronzen mimicry, she reached out to Aleyath. What of you, you showy, handsome boy? A splendor to admire from the back of the line? Might you show us both the strength of your wings? How pretty you are up close?

The swagger of a bronze, with the assets of a green. Yet she looked hopeful to catch them both in her claws, even if the gleaming dragon at the center of it all was beyond her.

On the ground, with Alluith's sights set, Rh'tyb had about leapt out of his skin. Yet he could feel a tug, the sharp pull, his greyed blue eyes landing on a rider who looked… more harrassed to be out than anything. Yet his gaze lingered down Merope's face, the hints of a smile, the gentle hood of his eyes. No, he made no hesitation in this was the rider of the blue who had caught his dragon's attention. "Have some time to waste?" Rh'tyb's hand strayed down her cheek, though it was the only touch he afforded himself -- she could very well reject him, after all.

But another, from the corner of his eyes -- looking the world to hide away. Part of him almost opened his mouth, to say something less than kind-- but his shoulder knots, a Western brownrider. Perhaps the other one-in-the-same. Yet he opened his hand, palm out, to O'len -- an offer, with a wry, hooded smile as he took the other man in appreciatively. "Care for some harmless fun?"
