Workaholic. Agent Spade pushed forward on his agenda. Hole in his chest? It had always been there. . . now literally. He was bandaged from the waist up, but his white dress shirt and black overcoat hid his wounds from sight. Scowling face never changed from its heartless expression. You wouldn't think he was injured, except for the man was sitting in a wheel chair. . . "I want a progress report on the Empyrean Core research. Out of the footage we've compiled, I need to hear confirmation on successful cross references. Facts, not theories. Concrete visual portrayals of similar Empyrean Hearts. Now," his words were cold. Eyes never connected with his subordinate. His gaze couldn't be bothered. He continued to scan the training results and energy readings from Eris, Ikki, Masaaki and Mika- No. Steel your heart, Agent. He had to look at them objectively. They were subjects, soldiers, operatives. Anything but kids. They were the key to humanity's survival. Agent Valkyrie's "love," experiment gave them the illusion they were by any means normal. The development of their skills. The fluctuation in gate energy. Did they develop out of instinct or were they pre-determined? How far could they stretch their abilities? There hadn't been a development of this caliber since the Mages were locked up. While the chip on his shoulder refused to compliment her, Ace knew in the back of his mind Kyrie was on to something.

"Request a weapon's expert and barrier engineer to overlook the shard research. I want to know if its plausible to harness its power to use against the Empyreans or strengthen our barrier," Spade ordered, taking the reigns the F03 manager had left behind. "Tch," the agent hissed through his teeth. One of their greatest discoveries in the last ten years and Rokaku was at the campground? Ace was starting to think the manager's mage sympathizing was out of hand. He almost dared to say he missed the former head of the facility. Keeping silently to himself, an subordinate hesitated. Fearful to approach, the agent swallowed hard before breaking the silence. "What is it?" Spade snapped as a new report unrelated to his current agenda was passed. The subordinate didn't speak of its contents. He dared not to interrupt Spade's hasty reading. It was a report announcing the death of Mage Berserker. A team from another facility was dispatched. Judging by the roster, most were mercenaries. Spade wasn't a fan of guns for hire. Ace wasn't angry. He injured. Mika quarantined. UDA had every right to send out a different team to hunt the kid down.

Spade knew about the transfer. Tobias had been shuffled around so much, he didn't think the kid would do anything funny. Why did he? The former Manager approved lethal force. Speculations were written down for the reasons. Failed experiment. Agent killer. Turning the pages, he read over the fluffy parts. All for... Lilith? The boy broke free to fight tooth and nail to reunite with the frozen princess. Even if Ace and Mika had been available, the seasoned veteran doubt the hunt would have gone different. Frustration festered in his throat as a vehement grumble. Dark gaze met with the reporting subordinate. "Keep this report classified to military personnel only," he growled, not wanting another distraction to keep Kyrie from her work. F03 had lost a total of three mages now. Teenagers and their emotions. . . a nauseating pit formed in his gut. "And, contact F02 about suppression technology. . . for Mage Spark."

Recruits were assigned dorm rooms at the beginning of the week. They were allowed to bring only what could fit in two suitcases. Midnight curfews were enforced. Weekly pay was given out. 2,000 Yen. U.D.A. training attire fitted. Slim sweats, sleeveless tee, zip up hoodie and plain sneakers. A new cell phone was issued, which included their ID pass for the Z03 Facility. The interns were given a tour of the facility on Monday. Introduced to the staff Tuesday. Wednesday was their orientation as recruits and interns. Rules of the facility were simple. Only go where your ID card allows. Complete your daily training regime. Thursday, they were given physicals by Dr. Valkyrie. After school Friday, they'd begin their first day of field training.

Outside on the training course, Kyrie and Ace stood before the recruits and mages. White dress shirt and black slacks. Arm in a sling, he stared them down. Irritation was evident. He did not want Kyrie here. But the manager ordered her presence on the field. The new recruits for U.D.A. were a different breed. Past candidates had training, experience and specific skill sets. These were... "Children!" he commanded, voice stern and eyes lifeless. "Address me as Spade. I will be your instructor and you will heed every word which leaves my mouth or find yourself ten feet under as maggot fodder. You are here to be melded into a tool that will save humanity from the otherworldly threat we call Empyreans. Take this seriously," the agent did not walk up and down the lines, but made sure his cold stare connected with every set of pupils at least once. "The first thing you are going to do is run the basic training course in stride with your partner," Spade announced with a grumble in his throat as he looked over at Kyrie. He did not approve of this light-hearted starting exercise in the least. "Do not leave your partner behind. Both must complete every obstacle. Do so by any means necessary. However, magic is prohibited. Your time is concluded once you both pass the finish line. First pair, Hana Kasai and Jager Cyrus to the starting line," Ace ordered, flare gun in hand as he looked over to Kyrie who readied her clipboard and stopwatch. "Go," Ace shot the flare gun without a countdown and Kyrie started the watch.

Reloading the gun, he gave the first pair a thirty second head start before calling the next. "Saito Eris and Kabuto Ikki, to the starting line," he commanded, going through the same motion and firing the flare gun for them to start. He repeated the cycle for "Haruno Mika and Ginma Masaaki," as well as "Miamoto Keito and Hanzaki Miyuki," and several other unnamed pairs. Slow. Every group was slow. Ace wanted to shout. Threaten. Insult. Per Kyrie, he was instructed to do nothing but watch... well, for the first day. Cigarette. Lighter. He took a long. . . very long. . . first drag. It didn't help. "Tch," he sucked through his teeth at every blunder the recruits and mages made. It was hard to watch Mages he trained fall behind because of their partners. It was difficult to watch Mages who had never run the course get help from their partners. "What a mess. . . " he murmured under his breath, loud enough for only Kyrie to hear. With a sigh, Kyrie allowed him one comment for each pair. . . less he have a heart attack.

"Jager! Hana! Pick up your damn feet. Move like your lives depend on it."
"Kabuto this is not a game! Saito will die from your lollygagging! Stay focused!"
"Ginma! You're dead weight dragging your partner down. Haruno force him to keep up!"
"Miamoto! Eyes on Hanzaki! Communicate to keep from separating!"

The Obstacle Course
Complete the course within 2 posts per character by June 26th. No group posting order. Post within your pairing. Write to your character's capabilities. Fail as much as you feel necessary. Your character will only grow from here on out. Your time will be scored based on Ace and Kyrie's judgement. This will take into consideration your character's physique and teamwork.

Part One: Balance
Traverse fallen logs and stumps. Fail and fall into mud.

Part Two: Agility
Maneuver across a tire run, through a rope web and crawl under wire.

Part Three: Strength
Climb a vertical rock wall, jump over water to a hanging rope and clear water bed by swinging over. Tire squeeze, crawl under the weight of tires to get through.

Part Four: Cardio

"Sounds like a plan, you're cool man," giving him a fist bump as he thought about that offer taking him to visit his hometown in Spain. "I never been anywhere outside the country...so...I think it'd be real cool. At least I know I would have a great tour guide. Yea definitely have to see a bullfight, I'm holding you to that." Mixed feelings on the whole thing, only cause, he'd love to have the freedom to do something like that, to go there. Knowing how restrictive UDA was, that was the other side of the coin on that. They'd sooner kill him then let him run off like that. s**t, he'd die free at least, sighing as he shook the thoughts from his head.

Thus far, what he'd seen, Cyrus was a cool guy, and seemed like someone he could trust. Easygoing, easy to talk to, Kasai felt comfortable around this other teen he'd just met today. Kasai only hoped he didn't go up in flames and take Cyrus with him. The s**t with UDA was so stressful most times, but it's why Kasai acted up as much as he did. Kept them on their toes, and kept Kas from completely going stir crazy as Cyrus had said. "I mean at least you're going in smart...you are eyes wide open and know who you're dealing with. I got your back, we'll be training for monsters rather then bullies, so we'll definitely have to be prepared." They could fight against bullies fair enough, but the creatures they'd be going up against were stuff of nightmares.

"As for the archery, can't wait to see those skills." He'd have to ask when they had the time, if Cyrus got ahold of a set for weapons, could he like shoot an apple off his head or something? He'd save those questions for later, once Cyrus mentioned heading back to the dorms to do homework. "Funny...I gotta go back the same way. It's nicer being in those dorms...compared to feeling like I'm in a cell at the UDA facility. Least I can make my room have some kinda personality." Able to decorate a little, or well...he would have to decorate, he hadn't gotten to do much yet.

Exchanging numbers with Cyrus as they walked back to the dorms, talking a little more on the way. It was funny to find that Cyrus was like right next door, the next room over.

~~~Skip to UDA Facility: Training Day~~~
As far as rules went, only go where your ID card allows, well, Kasai didn't always listen to that. If there was somewhere he could sneak into, or just break into to cause a little chaos, well he'd done that even before now. The whole process leading up the the first official field training day with their new crew, Cyrus and the others was interesting.
Listening to Spade, Kasai side eyed Cyrus. Rolling his eyes when he got his attention, nodding at Spade like 'can you believe this guy?' One hand at his side he made a hand motion going 'blah blah blah' with Spade's grumpy speech. "What kind of Spade is he anyway? A King, Jack, a two, maybe a three? Or a queen, cause he's being a drama queen," muttering over to Cyrus. Like the cards in a deck of cards with the spade symbol. Melded into a tool, yea UDA really showed their humanity didn't they? "What bullshit..."
Frowning once magic was prohibited for their training course, so much for just melting their obstacle course things. Least he and Cyrus were paired, walking up to the starting line. Smirking, standing beside Cyrus, "Race to the end?" Winking at him as they took off once the flare gun was shot. Him and Cy racing through the first part, the fallen logs and stumps. Slipping a little but mostly keeping balance till they managed to race to the tire run. Kasai keeping an eye on Cyrus now and again to see where he was, if they were running neck and neck.
                                                  • tab tab 🎮 The heat of the moment, the passion, the closeness. Masaaki's heart beating wildly, quickly, or was that Mika's? Maybe both of them? They were so close to each other the feeling blended together so he didn't know whose heart was racing like it was at this point or if it was both more realistically. His cheeks brightened, surprised himself at his boldness. Afraid a moment when Mika first pulled back, thinking he'd crossed a line. Though as soon as she was free of the apron, arms wrapped around him and she pressed in close to him. Kissing back as Mika kissed him. "M-mhm," a surprised sound when she first came in close. One arm wrapped around her waist, his other hand, resting against her cheek. The warmth that spread between them, melding them together even.
                                                    tab tab 🎮 Thumb brushing against her cheek, as she pulled back. Eyes widened when he heard her words. Heart skipped a few beats there, he'd be worried if not for the obvious reason for the skipping. "Daisuki kimi mo, Mika," so flustered but so happy to be able to have expressed the feelings between them. Glad he hadn't stumbled when saying so as well. If not for the oven timer surprising the heck out of Masaaki, he'd have been content holding Mika there and kissing her awhile longer. His heart racing when the timer went off, at least it hadn't been anybody barging in on them at least. They'd enjoyed their time that day. From baking the cookies, to nestling into the big ol bean bag chair together in his room watching Princess Mononoke. He'd wanted to show Mika since the last time and knew she'd enjoy it.
                                                    ~~~Skip to UDA Training time~~~

                                                    tab tab 🎮 He'd wanted to participate in the UDA training, to be able to be of some kind of help to Mika, but he'd greatly under anticipated just to the degree of how tough this training would be. Jumping when Spade addressed them all, or rather barked at them. He, Ikki and any of the other trainees had been moved into the dorms, given phones, etc. Leaving his old phone at home, since he had things on there he didn't want ruined or anything. He'd managed to stuff a bunch of things into his suitcase from his room, to decorate his dorm room. It wasn't like he was away from home like a whole other town, but he still wanted to make the room semi-comparative to his room at home. Extra inhalers, etc.

                                                    tab tab 🎮 Now during training, he watched as the first pairs took off through the course. This would be...interesting. As they took off and started the course, Masaaki could hardly so much as get a few feet on the log before he slipped and fell into the mud. Yelping, trying again, he more or less crawled across the log, hugged onto it and inch wormed across. He'd stumbled along the tire run, his breathing already getting ragged and quick. Mika helping him as much she could when they got to the rope web and the wires. He was definitely not the most physically fit...not in the least, and at this rate he'd be on the floor needing oxygen. Or he'd be having an emotional breakdown with Spade shouting at them, calling him dead weight. It didn't help he was getting his hair caught when they were trying to crawl under the wire. But hey, to his credit at least he was still trying, right?

On the first day of his temporary transferral to the UDA facility, he woke up early showered and dressed in a plain dark coloured t-shirt, sweatpants and his usual trainers before Cyrus did one last mental checklist of everything he'd need for his stay there; aside from clothing and the usual toiletries you'd expect when going on a trip, he also brought a secret stash of various snacks to share, a first aid kit for personal use and his archery gear; he had no idea how varied the training would be, but he was sure a facility like the UDA's would have some sort of firing range he could use; even if it was meant more for pistols and larger firearms it didnt matter to him; a target was a target, right?

Jolted out of his thoughts he heard the loud honk of a horn outside the dorms and knew it was time he greeted Kasai as they loaded their things into the van and headed inside as they took a long trip out of the city and more into its outskirts to UDA Facility Z03. Cyrus suspected the first day would be an introduction to the facility but after that, it would get far more physically and mentally intensive; as potential agents, he was sure those overseeing their training would need to know what they'd be working with, what to hone and what needed improvement in the coming days.

Either way, Cyrus felt more excited than nervous about the whole thing he'd never been the type to shy away from a challenge and this wasn't any different; he was sure if his grandfather knew what was going on with the UDA he'd have a fit, and while he loved the old man, this was not something he wanted him to get involved with.

Orientation and meeting the staff was sort of boring and almost painfully normal to what you'd expect but he did take note of at the very least of three people; Director Rokkaku, the head of the scientific division Dr Yokyrie and the head of the Agents who just went by Spade, at a guess Cyrus figured it was some sort of weird code name and wondered if he picked it or if it was picked for him. Either way, these three seemed like the trinity that kept this facility together as he was handed new training attire, a cellphone along with an id card as well as a list of rules he could only roll his eyes at.

Rules were made to be bent, if not broken depending on the situation.

They still went to the school, but once that and their after-school club activities were dealt with, they always left and went back to the UDA facility where they were then given physicals, by Dr Yokayrie, she seemed nice enough but the brunette didn't have cause to fully trust her yet. Cyrus at the very least got to at least know the names and faces of the Mages who were from Z03, namely Mika, Eris, Keito and of course Kasai. There were also the other humans varying from the good-natured dumbass (Ikki), Sweet but fragile (Masaki), and too cute to be here (Asako)

All in all the group were a unique bunch, himself included, he just felt a bit like an outsider still at the moment; the other seemed to have already formed fast friendships with each other whereas he'd only really connected with Kasai...still there was time and opportunity for that to change.

By the time Friday rolled around they were finally going to be put through their paces as they were told to get into training gear and were lead outside to a large obsolete course; it reminded him a lot of the ones the military used to see if recruits could keep up with the gruelling training the military would put them through...in hindsight perhaps agent training wasn't even that different.

Cyrus began to do warm-ups and stretches getting his body ready for what he had a feeling was going to be a pretty tough course to finish; Cyrus was no slouch when it came to physical activity, quite the opposite in fact as he loved to get daily exercise, but even he knew at a glance that the course was likely going to exhaust him by the end of it...he defiantly felt sorry for the more fragile and less physically active members of the mages and vessels that would also be running this course and he was pretty sure a couple of them wouldn't even be able to complete it without being carried to the finish line.

Spade then called for their attention but calling them 'children of all things which made him frown a bit feeling insulted he was being talked down to like he was 6 rather than 16 and when Spade met his eyes he made sure to give him the stinkeye right back; he couldn't care less what Spade thought of him, he was here to help the mages, not the UDA.

His expression relaxed as his green eyes flicked over to Kasai who seemed to be equally as uninterested in Spade's lecture as he was as he jokingly asked what sort of spade he was "Maybe he's the joker instead because he is one...probably should have been his actual code name" Cyrus quipped back with a soft snigger in response.

He listened to Spade droning on, long enough to at the very least know the rules of the obstacle course; they both had to complete it, they couldn't leave each other behind and no magic was allowed and they could use whatever means to do so otherwise it wasn't a hard list of rules to follow and Cyrus was nothing if not creative. To his surprise, he and Kasai were called up first and he grinned a bit as the redhead suggested turning it into more of a race between themselves than whatever Spade wanted to do. "You're on, may the best man win," He said giving the redhead a bit of a playful first bump with his hand before he got ready.

The gun went off and the two instantly bolted at full speed along to the first wave of the obstacle course; for Cyrus this was easy; he'd spent hours of his childhood and youth growing up running around in the forests of Spain running around in nature hopping from one log to another so he had pretty good balance, so he was easily able to avoid tripping or falling from the logs without much of an issue, it gave him a slight lead in front of Kasi but it wasn't by much; it was still anyone's guess who would win

Next was more about speed than strength, again this wasn't too hard for him to deal with; the tire run was passed through easily, the rope web was annoying and defiantly slowed him down as he got through it before he dived to the floor skidding into the dirt as he began to crawl under the wire; he could feel his hair get caught on it but he ignored the pain of his hair being pulled as he wriggled through it, and with a now dirty track suit got back up to his feet to the next part of the course.

So far it had been easy, but the next section was going to make things more difficult; the vertical rock wall was not exactly small; still, he had an idea for that; he was still a bit ahead of Kasai as he skidded to a stop and instead of climbing there walla sit was intended, he put this back to said wall, plated his feet firmly in the ground and placed both his hands together "Kasai! I'll boost you!" He called to the other; even though it was still kind of a race between them, there was nothing against helping each other out and Spade had said by any means necessary, besides this would save them both time, after all, they weren't allowed to leave each other behind too far.

Haruno made a rebellious action and did not return to the dorms that night. With emotions soaring, taking her heart to heights unfathomable, she had never felt so... complete. After she and Masaaki confessed their true feelings for one another, how could she possibly leave his side? Fingers laced between his as they watched the movie... Mika would remain next to him. She'd nestle in, crown pressed against his with her legs draped over his lap until the credits rolled. When she saw the deep heave of Masaaki's slender chest giving way to sleep, she'd carefully take the nearest blanket to drape over him. She wondered if their story would have a beautiful ending just as Princess Mononoke and Ashitaka did. An ending to the conflict where people would be safe, the land healthy, the supernatural put to rest and man's greed humbled. Ebony locks tangled with plumette curls as the midnight beauty rested her head on his shoulder for the night. "If you're here with me..." she whispered to him while he slept, confident that if they stayed together the best outcome would be their future. A smile played on her lips as she closed her eyes, letting the glow of the TV be her candlelight until the sandman took her.

The next days felt chaotic only because Haruno was excited. Masaaki was moving into the dorms, but away from the comfort of his home. They'd still visit after school, Mika wanted to keep learning more about baking. She loved his parents and wanted to spend more time with them, especially in the bakery. It was hard for her to remain in her own room knowing Masaaki was a few doors down. She knew he needed time to settle in, yet she made herself readily available to him. Instead of going about her daily routine, Haruno would be within ear shot of Masaaki at all times. She had promised to make him tea when they first met, and she'd do that every evening now. A nice chamomile to help calm him before curfew. And of course, a little twist of his wavy locks and a peck on his cheek when no one was looking.
"Sweet dreams," she'd always say warmly, wishing him sleep as sugary as he was.

------------------- Timeskip -----------------------

Mika would not let Masaaki leave her sights when he stepped foot on Z03 facility grounds. A chill ran down her spine seeing him pass by security areas with his new phone and go through orientation with Spade. While she was grateful to have him by her side, her entire disposition was cold and unapproachable... unless she was speaking to Masaaki. Any question he had was given the utmost attention and answered with the gentlest of tones. As for anyone else who dared open their mouth in her vicinity, she'd speak as if her words had teeth.

Brows furrowed as she saw Kasai and Cyrus whispering to one another while Spade spoke. Disrespectful.
"Let's stretch, Masaaki," Mika suggested, doing some light exercises to help loosen her partner up as others were called to start first. Not only was she trying to distract him from Spade's looming presence, but she needed to know his limitations with movement. And, he was very limited. As their names were called to the starting line, Haruno tried to give him an encouraging smile before the flare gun sounded. Taking off in a light jog, Mika made sure not to pull too far ahead of Masaaki. Having run this course a million times, Mika's feet seemed to dance across the logs. Halting when she heard a yelp, she felt bad watching her sweet prince crawl through the mud. At the rope web, Mika guided him through, knowing he wasn't very flexible. "Just take it slow. Best to be careful than to get tangle," she encouraged him, not wanting his foot to get caught and avoiding him tripping. As they came to the wires, Mika shot a glare at Spade. How dare he call her sugar plum dead weight. He knew damn well the bravery and effort Ginma possessed. He was doing his best and Mika not only recognized it, but appreciated it. "Think about keeping your shoulders to the ground. It'll help keep your head low. Use your elbows to pull yourself," she gave him advice, hating to see his precious locks get caught in the wire.

As they escaped the wires, other groups lapped them. It didn't bother her. Mika noticed the raggedness of Masaaki's breathing while looking ahead at the rock wall. Not wanting to openly suggest he take a break, she grabbed his arm to make him stop and pay attention to their next obstacle. She knew the fastest route up the wall, but she had never taken the time to plan out the easiest. Studying the wall, she wanted Masaaki to do the same for a chance to catch his breath.
"Do you see the red-blue-yellow pattern?" she pointed at the rock wall handles. "Climb to there and I'll guide you. I'll stay right under you. If you feel weak, rest your foot on my shoulder," she coached him, nervous he might fall. Offering a boost to get him at a higher starting point with less effort, Mika did everything she could to help Masaaki get up the wall. "Left hand to the purple. Right foot on the orange. Keep your left foot planted and don't rise up onto your toe," she encouraged him as best as she could. She wasn't concerned about their time, but his safety. When they got to the top, she helped him up. "I fell my first time climbing the wall. You're doing great, Masaaki," she said sweetly in an attempt to bolster his confidence. She wouldn't mention her first time climbing the wall was at the age of 8...

At the rope swing, Mika couldn't imagine Masaaki jumping the gap or catching the rope. Going first, Mika made sure to swing the rope back, so he wouldn't have to jump.
"Don't wrap the rope around your wrist! It'll be harder to jump off, okay?" she called back to him over the pond. Foot at the edge of the waterline, she extended her arm out. She could reach out another six inches, but she wanted Masaaki to aim farther in case she needed to reach out to grab him. She could tell he was nervous. "Just grip the rope with both hands, squat down and jump. Ready? One, two- jump!" she cheered, fingertips outstretched as Masaaki jumped on the rope. However, she could tell mid-swing he wasn't going to make it. "Grab my hand!" she yelled, reaching over that last six inches to try and grab him.

Hands missed. Mika over-extended herself. Balance was lost. Water crashed into the sky as she fell into the pond. The water was cold as if it was freshly pumped from the well this morning. Standing up, her black locks matted down against her face, she was thoroughly soaked. But it didn't seem to bother her, as she looked for Masaaki. Trudging through the waist high water, she stood next to him.
"Are you okay?" she asked, wanting to place a hand on his back but refraining since they were in training. Worry was written all over her face. She didn't want Masaaki to push himself too hard and collapse. Looking over to Kyrie, Mika wanted to call her over to see if Masaaki could be excused because of medical conditions. He was trying so hard though and she didn't want to make that call for him. Climbing out of the water, Mika rang out her shirt and pant legs before rolling them up. They were in the final stretch. "Want to finish?" she asked, not wanting him to feel like he had to force himself to keep going.

OMG! So much cool stuff happened. Ikki was totally ready to become a cool agent. Ya know, like the cool agents in spy movies, not the lame ones in the Matrix! Ikki was the polar opposite of Masaa-man. He thought Spade was so cool. Ikki really liked cigarettes but he be keeping it a secret, smoking here and there with kids at school. He didn't think it was a sex appeal thing, but like a broh down hang out thing. Though he'd never include Masaa-man in it. Cuz of the asthma and all. But, Ikki got to move into the dorms! "Ma! Stop crying! You said you couldn't wait till my 18th birthday, so like, I'm out early. Aren't you happy!?" Ikki didn't understand, but his mother had a hard time saying good bye as he packed his suitcase. It wasn't like he was going far! Man! But, like Ikki was stoked about the pay. He didn't get allowances or anything, so having cash in hand without asking was pretty cool.

The coolest thing was living down the hall from Eris.
"Heeeeeheee," Ikki would giggle and tiptoe to her room every night. There wasn't any kind of adult presence at the dorms, so like... why not, right? He'd snuggle, cuddle, lay at the end of her bed like a pupy or even on the floor like a dog. He was super happy be close to her. Nights he had to sleep in his bed, he'd wait by her door in the morning so he could scoop her up and kiss her right away. "Eri-chaaaaaaaan!" he'd celebrate her day and night, never gettin' sick of it.

Ikki listened to Spade's every word during orientation. He was stoked about the new phone too. He was not shy around Dr. Kyrie when it came to physicals.
"FEAST YO EYES!" he'd celebrate his body since he was a brawn not a brain. He learned fast to stay away from Masaaki and Mika, cause Haruno was a different kind of beast at the facility. And, oh boy was he ready fo some field training. He felt so cool in his training uniform, even if it was a simple track suit. Man, he was ready! But he was sad when Spade banned magic. WHAT!? He really wanted to see what everyone's abilities were. Like, if Mika and Masaaki were top tier with the way they killed the Empyrean, what was the rest of them like? What was Keito's power? What was red head's power? What was- "Yes!" he jumped to attention, his brain switching form wandering mode to doing mode.

He and Eris were gonna run the course as fast as they could. Looking down at his little lady who's side he hadn't left, he flashed a charismatic smile.
"Let's be the best team, Eri-chan!" he said confidently, eager for the flare gun to fire and for them to take off. Balancing on stuff was easy as cake for both him and Eris. Skateboarding helped a lot with balance and after pulling her around the other day, he knew she had some skillz. But then, all of Spade's badgering about taking this seriously was gone with the wind. Ikki was too excited to be on a official training course. "Look at me! Its like the matrix. Slooooooooooooooooow moooooooootiooooooooooon," Ikki said to Eris as he moved dramatically through the rope web. "Snake mode!" Ikki said next, pretending he didn't have arms and wiggling under wire like an obnoxious lizard man. Seriously, it looked like he had no bones. Hopefully he'd get Eris to laugh. When he got out, about to flash his goofy grin at Eris again to see how she was doing, Spade yelled at him. "Kabuto this is not a game! Saito will die from your lollygagging! Stay focused."

"D..die?" he stammered, the memory of Willow with a bullet in his head replaying in his mind. Going white as a sheet, Ikki approached the vertical rock wall. He looked down at his little lady, his angel, his sweet heart, his sunshine. He almost felt sick thinking she could die. No way, broh! Ikki wouldn't let it happen. He'd be strong. He'd do everything he could to become stronger! "Eri-chan! Jump on my back!" he requested, squatting down, hands ready to cup her thighs (oh, juicy thighs) BUT NOT IN A SEXUAL WAY RIGHT NOW. She could squeeze him with them luscious limbs and he could use all his muscle to get them through this. "I can carry you. I'll carry you and get you to the finish line no matter what, my baby cakes," he was determined to do this! He hoped Eris wouldn't complain and she'd let him take care of the resrt. Cause man, he'd make Spade eat those comments.

The UDA facility was certainly a lot more busy and full of activity with the normal human students here alongside the mages for training; of course it helped that she knew two of the four students that would be attending the training course but there were two newcomers as well; a pretty pinkette girl who genuinely seemed as shy as Eris was and a confident looking tanned male who seemed to be chatting animatedly with a new menebr of the mage group; she hadn't had the chance to talk with him yet but she had hear his name being called a few times and while he seemed nice enough she hadn't had the curage to talk witn him yet.

Besdies with Ikki around there was never a dull moment, he greeted her when he came for orinetation and often state din her room as they slept together...they never did anything more then kiss and cuddle of course Eris was more and aware there were cameras watching them, but the times he got himself caught or was shooed back to his room he instead greeted her in the morning, picking her up as if she weighed nothing and would pepper her with kisses which she returned unashamedly (Much to Mika's disgust as she rolled her eyes as the sappy exchange)

The rest of the week went by without any real issues, Kyries examination told her what she already knew, that she had low stamina and while she wasn't fragile by any means her small body was just not suited for combat without her powers.

As Friday came around it was time for their friest field test and Eris wasn't looking forward to it; she knew full well that without her abilities she was going to struggle with any sort of physical activity, but she didnt complain or say anything in protest as she listened to the rules of the race; the first pair Cyrus Jeager and Hana Kasai sped off together at a high pace; clearly making it some sort of race between them than anything else and were making excellent time; it was clear they made for a pretty good team despite both being pretty new to this.

When it was their turn Eirs nodd to Ikki as the flare went off and they began to cross the fallen logs and stumps; she didn't have terrible balance but she hesitated to cross some of the larger gaps wasting precious time, but she managed to avoid getting a mud bath at the very least, unlike poor Massaki who seemed to need to crawl across the log like a worm.

At the second stage of the course she could feel her body protesting at all the work it was doing but she didn't say anything outwardly as she followed after Ikki across the tire run (which was a bit of a struggle due to her short legs), Ikki almost got fully tanged in the rope web and she had to help him out of it before they both crawled under the wire together Ikki wriggling around like a snake which made her snort in amusement.

Next was their worst part of the course yet; the strength test, of which Eris had practically none and she already felt tired; she was more than ready and willing to just grit her teeth and give it to her best shot to climb up the wall on her own but Spade's snide comment about Ikki slowing her down touched a nerve for the both of them; Eris wanted to knock the agent on his a** the test be damned for daring to think Ikki was slowing her down, but she restrained herself because she didn't want to do something that would make then fail; besides knowing Spade, him trying to a rise out of them with his harsh comments may well be part of the test.

Ikki seemed to take this accusation more seriously as he asked her to climb onto his back and while a part of her wanted to stubbornly protest; she knew full well the own limits of her body, even if she reached the top of the wall it was going to wear her out, so it was best Ikki carry her from this point on "You can do this, show Agent Spade he's wrong" She said as she easily climbed onto the others back her arms around his shoulders and kissing his cheek "For good luck" She whispered with a smile knowing it would likely further encourage the blonde.

Oh, man. Ikki was so proud of his baby girl. She was doing super awesome. As she climbed on his back, she gave him some words of encouragement, letting him know she trusted him. "Yeah!" he cheered, wanting to show Spade he was wrong! Eri's arms around his shoulders, she planeted a kiss on his cheek. Nostrils flaring and cheeks turning red, her little whisper echoed in his ear sparking sparking a fuse. "Kyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaah! For my lovely lady! " Ikki shouted, all fired up before BLASTING off up the rock wall like some sort of centipede man. His arms and legs moved so fast it looked like he had twelve of them. Ya'd think having Eris on his back would slow him down, but heck no. She was like a super charged rocket strapped to his back giving him the power to jump off the vertical wall once they got to the top. Dust billowed out around them as he landed, hands cupping her thighs so she wouldn't fall off, but then, he let go- trustin them thiiiick drummies to squeeze onto him tight- taking off into a sprint like some kind of beast. "Huuuuuuuuuurah! For Eri-chan's dimples!" his voice seemed to growl as he yelled obnoxiously while sprinting up to the rope cross. Jumping off one leg, his arms reached out both grabbin' the rope at the same time. Swinging forward with the momentum of his spring, Ikki and Eri cleared the pond in one solid swoop. He kept truckin' stopping at the tire squeeze.

Planting both feet, his arms dove under the tires.
"Eri-chaaaan~ Climb through," he sang sweetly, the beastly madman mode put on pause for ten seconds as his darling hopped off his back to wiggle through the tires. All the time, he smiled happily watching her itty bitty parts get through. Once she was clear, his eyes glistened once more. "Hoooooooooooo, for Eri-chan snorts!" he fired himself up again, diving and struggling through the tire squeeze until he rolled out the other end. Back on his feet, his nostrils flared once again as he squatted down for his baby girl to hop back on. "Last stretch, little mama! Can I get some more fuel?" he asked, looking back over his shoulder at the little lady with a totally angelic look on his face- but wait, was his halo being held up by horns? He NEEDED them kisses to keep him goin'. The boy was addicted. <3

With the blessing of his little lady, Ikki's toes dug into the ground.
"For Eri-chan's THIGHS! Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" he cheered at the top of his lungs before running off like a bullet outta gun. Through sand, rock and mud, he jumped them hurdles with his precious pearl on his back. See, Ikki was a punk skateboarder but his parents had a brewery. Stirring giant barrels, lifting full kegs and all kinds of manul labor was part of Ikki's everyday chores. In the sake fermentation room, he'd spend his off-days massaging the fermenting rice by hand for ten hours no breaks. Eri-chan was light compared to a keg, so he powered through until crossing the finish line. The moment Eris got off his back though, Ikki fell flat on his face. Sweat dripping down his entire body, eyes a little swirly , he heaved and ho'ed for breath. He needed water. BAD. Like, he had endurance, but this was another muscle group gettin' challenged and it was kickin' his booty. But, boy, would Kyrie get some good data on the way Ikki acted, doing everything for his partner and screaming out some of the things he loved about her to keep him going to the point of collapse... OH WAIT. Ikki passed out. Yup. His eyes rolled to the back of his skull. No worries though, someone dumping water on him would revive him.

Eris had certainly expected her little kiss to give him some sort of encouragement to get results, but Ikki's reaction far exceeded her expectations as she let out a soft delighted laugh as he shot up the rock wall like he was a spider, before jumping off the top of it his hand's holding onto her legs and he landed yelling something about he dimples which was both embarrassing and hilarious, she let out a soft little squeak of excitement as Ikki grabbed the rope and got them across the water with ease.

At the tire squeeze, there was no choice but to go through one at the time and nodded as he wriggled through the tires; they were heavy and it felt almost suffocating for her but she resisted the urge to use her powers to lighten the load, she was going to do her part wherever she could and stick by the rules for now. When Eris finally reached the other side, she was a lot dirtier and a little short of breath but not willing to give up as she knew Ikki was right behind her; this was a test for the both of them and she didn't want to slow Ikki down any more than she needed too.

At the other side, he asked for some more 'fuel' and she rolled her eyes with an amused smile before pulling him down by his tracksuit, this time kissing him smack on the mouth before climbing onto his back "This is the last stretch, do your best" She said with a chuckle as he bolted yelling something about Eris's thighs as he jumped through hurdles got through all the difficult terrain and reaching the other side; she wasn't sure what sort of time he'd made but considering how fast Ikki had been moving she was sure they made decent time despite their slow start.

Ikki of course overdid it though in his eagerness to reach the end; the blonde fell flat on his face the moment Eris climbed off of his back looking more exhausted than her "You did really well Ikki" She said shifting the other head to rest on her lap as she played with his hair while he got his breath back "Thank you for getting me across the course, I wouldn't have been able to do that on my own, just rest now" she said with a soft hum as she gently brushed his sweaty hair from his face, as he started to get his breath back; she was glad that Ikki was her partner in this race; no matter what Mika thought, Eris knew that he complimented her, they made up for each other's weaknesses and she was sure they'd work together well as a team...he already had her trust, all they needed now was practice working together.

      Masked with a smile. Keito seemed to be at Miyuki's side more often than not. He didn't care for it, but kept up with the charade. The way she blushed, changes in her voice, quickened heart beat, attentiveness to his being- Her emotions were genuine after all. His were not. During the orientation and facility tour, Keito appeared to be captivated by her. But eyes drifted and stole glances at everyone else. He didn't know Cyrus and Kasai well, but the shoe seemed to fit. Keito hadn't really clicked with him, but he didn't mind his company. A friendly comment here and a smile with any conversation was easy to come by with all the mages and interns. Except Mika.

      There was a storm around the young woman. One second it'd be burning warmly and the next it'd be cold as ice. At the eye of the storm was Ginma Masaaki. Keito had been watching them together for some time now. He hadn't figured out the mystery as to why Mika smiled the way she did around the guy. "Ha. . . " Keito could only sigh and remain in the background until he got his chance. Young and inexperienced recruits were Empyrean fodder. Agents never lasted long on the field with the exception being Spade. The man was immortal. Keito had abandoned him on the field only to watch in horror as he returned to base to kick the piss out of him for running.

      Obstacle course. Keito had been through the course before. Out of the mages, he was ranked 5th to have ran it. Tobias held the number 1 spot. Mika the second. The third and fourth was... he couldn't recall. Spade shouted over them. He was a very intimidating man, even with his arm in a sling. Normally he'd shrink away at the barking, but Keito couldn't help but smile with Kasai and Cyrus' whispering. He was sure it was something insulting. Miyuki at his side, she chatted away as the groups were called to start. Keito would smile and nod, but watch the pairs go off. Cyrus and Kasai moved fast. They were most likely the most equal pair. Ikki could probably pass up both of them, but he had Eris to look after. Masaaki and Mika. . . "Yikes. . . " It was hard to look at, so Keito put his hand over his face. Peeking through his fingers, he braced himself for Mika's tongue lashings. What he saw through him for a loop.

      Haruno Mika, the Merciless Soldier, the Venomous Spider, the girl who had been nothing but impatient, cruel, brutal and tough was helping the weakest person on the field with a gentle and loving voice. His hand moved from hiding his face for Masaaki's embarrassment to covering his blushing cheeks. Seeing Mika this way, was heart warming. When he asked for help with training, she brushed him aside. A bit of jealousy nagged at him as Spade called him and Miyuki to the front. "Let's pass them all," Keito stated to his partner, eyes a bit cold as they waited for the flare gun. Once it sounded, both took off. Miyuki, being on the track team, was a seasoned sprinter. Logs and stumps. She went across the logs first. Both careful to avoid the slick spots from Masaaki's blunders. Tire run. Both kept their knees high, hopping back and forth. Rope web. Miyuki was smaller, more agile and flexible. Keito was taller, but still swift in moving through. Under the wire, the pair caught up to Mika and Masaaki and passed them. Miyuki was panting at the end, but Keito was conditioned for longevity thanks to the soccer club. At the rock wall, he was sure they would lap Ikki and Eris. "W-what. .. !?" Eris on Ikki's back, both Keito and Miyuki dropped jaw watching him climb the wall. They were not passing the mad dog and timid bear.

      Keito had seen Ikki naked and knew he was cut, but. . . damn. "Let's go!" he shook off the image and feeling. Hands on the rock wall, he climbed. Over the wall, he started towards the rope. "Keito! Eyes on Miyuki! Communicate to keep from seperating!" Looking over his shoulder, he didn't notice Miyuki wasn't there. Eyes scanning the area, she was at the top of the rock wall. Right, she lacked upper body strength. Jogging back over as she jumped down from the wall, Keito checked up on her. "Good?" he asked watching her chest heave as she caught her breath.

Transferred at the last minute with a mage from another facility, the young woman with piercing green eyes and flaming red hair didn't have a chance to meet everyone's acquaintance. In fact, she hadn't been moved into the dorms yet. She was still living in a small apartment here at the facility with her father. Nevertheless, they made it to the first day of training. She was excited! Fidgeting this way and that looking at all the pairs and knowing one from each pair was a Mage. It was so titillating! Sayu was confident she could tell which person out of each group was a Mage. All the torture, UDA training, fighting and imprisonment was written on their faces.

She was a no name to everyone around her. So, as the main characters were called forward, she was just a girl with flaming red hair pulled back into a pony tail who took of racing at the sound of the flare gun. The Mage she was with was nothing special in her opinion, but she really wanted to be a part of this experiment for a chance to meet someone really powerful. Sayu had heard the rumors of Berserker, Spark and Phoenix. Maybe she could find them on this course and get them to switch partners. However, she wasn't sure who was who. Her father only told her code names. Time to cull the weak halves and take their place!

Skipping over stumps, hopping over tires, dancing through the rope web and crawling under wire was no big deal! Sayu had been sent to boot camp and boarding school. These courses were a synch! "Sayu! Double-back to your partner! Run as a team!" As Spade called after her to follow the rules of the exercise, Sayu stuck her tongue out from the top of the rock wall. Her partner hadn't even started crawling under the wire! What a wuss. Turning to jump off, she saluted her failed partner with a pair of middle fingers.
"Haha," she giggled, somersaulting across the ground as she landed. Her tumbling body knocked into Miyuki, buckling her already weak knees and taking her down just as the trouble maker stood up.

Sweaty nose sticking itself into Keito's business, she grinned big and wide giving him no space to check on Miyuki. Eyes wide, her green hues seemed to glisten like polished emeralds hypnotizing the other's gaze with hers.
"You don't look tired! C'mon," she insisted, small hand firmly gripping around his wrist to pull him away. No apology was given to Miyuki or a hand to be offered to help her up. Instead, she looked back over her shoulder to give tall and handsome a playful wink. "This one's my partner now!" she yelled over to Spade before looking back at her new Mage. "I'm Sawamura Sayu," she introduced herself, letting go of his wrist to jump and grab the rope. Legs tucked close to her chest, they extended as she swung. Clearing the water, her feet planted on the other side. With a quick swing, her pony tail swung around as she faced her new partner. "What's your magic like!?" she yelled back at him, throwing the rope as hard as she could, so he could grab onto it easily. Once she had his answer, she'd either ditch him too and keep running or maybe try to work as a team... maybe.

      Eyes raised from Miyuki. The sounds of laughter drew his attention. A jumbled mess of limbs and fiery red came rolling in. Instinctively, Keito stepped away from his partner who was in it's path. Cringing as he heard the girl hit the ground, he sighed. Why didn't she move? Obligated to come to her aide and help her up, Keito's first movements towards Miyuki were halted. A narrow nose covered in freckles made him cross-eyed. He could smell sweat, dirt and. . . a dash of mint? Focus changing, Keito's gaze locked on a pair of shimmering gems. Heart skipped at the beauty of the emerald hues. He had never seen a pair of eyes so vibrant and filled with excitement. He was bewitched. "You don't look tired! C'mon." Red lips parted to reveal pearly whites. What a hungry smile. There was something dangerous about it. And it drew him in.

      Arm taken, Keito was drug along. Looking back, he saw Miyuki on the ground. Were those... tears in her eyes? He didn't feel compelled to stop. He found himself running at pace with his captor. Looking at the strange girl, he caught her long black lashes batting at him mischievously. "This one's my partner now!" The vixen announced. Looking over to Spade and Kyrie, the stern man was about to protest but the doctor obviously wanted this to slide. She introduced herself. Sawamura Sayu. The surname was familiar. He was sure he had never met her before. Keito would remember someone as unique as she.

      Feet skidding against the ground, he hung back. She jumped first. Arms, core and legs all worked together as she grabbed the rope. Sayu was nimble and lean. He couldn't pin her to a certain class; sportsman, martial artist. No. It was something else. . . "What's your magic like!?" Keito was shocked. Miyuki pestered him occasionally. Flirting first before entering the topic. A taboo subject. This one didn't even care for his name. She asked directly. Rope swinging across, Keito didn't grab it. Instead he broke the rules.

      In a blink, he was gone. A popping noise from a sudden air pressure change echoing in the eardrums of anyone in the vicinity. Within the same second, he was behind Sayu. One arm looped through her elbows and behind her back. Free hand went around her neck. He cupped her chin and lifted. Craning back her skull, his face hovered over hers as he looked down. "Like a nightmare. . . you can't escape," his voice was quiet. These tormented words were only for her to hear. Grip tightened around her jaw. His black strands of hair fell into her red ones. Keito wasn't sure what came over him. But, he wanted to scare her. Send fear into her soul. There was a crazed look in her eyes telling him she wasn't afraid, but. . . excited.

      It made his heart drum.

      "Keito! Back to the start of the entire course. I said no magic on the obstacles!" Spade's words rang crystal clear. Letting go of Sayu, the Mage put one hand in his pocket. His other scratched the back of his head nonchalantly. "Hai! My apologies, Agent Spade!" Keito spoke with his normal sheepish tone, acting slightly embarrassed since he wasn't able to control himself. Rubbing the back of his neck, he looked over to see Miyuki running with the other Mage. Tears were wiped from her face as she overcame the rope obstacle. She passed Keito without a second glance. Only a murmur escaped her lips. "Scum." Surprised by her bitter reaction, Keito could only smile after the girl as she ran with her new partner. The constant adoration. The heartfelt confession. The light-hearted flirting. How fickle her interests were. Shrugging his shoulders, Keito wouldn't dwell. He hadn't cared for her from the beginning. . .

Just grinning as he and Cyrus took off like a shot through the course. Being the first ones to go made things a little easier, they got to start the course clean. No spills or anything else, like the others that had to go after Masaaki and Mika, given the splatters of mud and everything around from Masaaki's log tumble. A brief glance behind him as the other groups started, yet he and Cy were still far ahead right now.

For the most part through about half the race they were technically 'together' as in running nearly neck and neck together. Not quite working 'together' as far as helping each other out, yet...much to Spade's likely irritation. The two smirking when they caught sight of the other nearby. Coming up to the rock wall, Cyrus was a bit ahead of him, Kasai quirking an eyebrow up. Smirking as he saw what he was up to. Kasai practically lunged forward in his sprint, giving himself some speed. Jumping, his foot planting into the finger basket Cy made with his hands, feeling the boost as his teammate gave him a little extra oomph for a head start up the wall.

Scrambling up the remainder of the wall, Kasai swung his leg over, straddling at the top. "Hey! Cyrus, c'mon" holding on so he didn't fall down the rock wall. He leaned down as much as her could, free arm extended so when Cy got up the wall enough to him and grabbed his hand, he levered him up so he was up top with him. Chuckling, as they sat atop the wall a moment, watching as the others were making their way toward catching up with them. "Guess we oughta get moving huh," winking to him and swung his legs around forward, to jump down the wall.

Soon as he cleared the water, jumping from the rope, he used the momentum to swing it back to Cyrus. Assisting like Cy did for him with the rock wall. They kept up their speed through the rest of the course, as the leapt across the hurdles almost at reckless speeds together. Challenging each other still, as they sort of raced to the finish before the other groups caught up. The closest one behind them being Ikki with Eris. The man was impressive, tearing a** through things, especially with Eris on his shoulders for the rock wall. He'd say he and Cyrus pretty much tied, racing to the finish. Smirking and clapping his hand against Cy's in a high five, before slinging his arm around Cyrus' shoulders, "That was a good run man. Spade looks like a tea kettle ready to blow." Kasai proceeding to do a teapot pose, like that song "i'm a little teapot, short and stout."

Making a hand motion at Spade and sticking his tongue out. The man was so intense, staring down all the teams. Seeing Keito getting barked at to restart the whole thing. Eyebrow raised as he'd so blatantly used his abilities. "Hmm...." frowning a little watching him and the other woman. Despite how he might joke around, Kasai was observing the other teams, different things about them that he ought to necessarily keep in mind. Poor kid Masaaki looking like he was about to keel over on the way through the rest of the course for one. "HEY OLD MAN, how bout you send in some help huh? Or what about you?" Looking at Yokyrie, glaring at the two adults and looking back at where Mika and Masaaki were.

                                                  • tab tab 🎮 Masaaki was sure the only way he'd survived making it through most of this course was thanks to Mika's intervention. Helping him, guiding him through the intricacies of it, and going at a pace somewhat manageable for him. It was sheer force of will that kept him from easily bowing out even at the beginning of the course. Even as his lungs seemed to burn, every breath painful to intake as he got further into the course. Like a vice grip on his lungs, his frame almost seemed to tremble. The lack of oxygen as he wheezed more and more.

                                                    tab tab 🎮 Appreciative of Mika's care and attention, helping him through the course with the various tips she had for getting through each part. Glad for the moment to breathe as she steadied him to observe the rock wall. The unease clenching his gut as he looked at the wall. Knowing he lacked much if at all upper body strength, he wasn't sure he'd even be able to pull himself up that. Biting his lower lip as he listened to Mika explain where he ought to grab onto and how to get up the wall. Nodding as she spoke, showing he was paying attention to the things she pointed out. Following her instructions up the wall, Masaaki almost slipped, his grip weak when he grabbed onto one of the colors she directed him to. It was a hard time pulling himself up, but he was trying. Difficult as it was, but with Mika's help, making it to the top of the wall with her. "T-thank you Mika," words unsteady as his breathing was as he sat atop the wall with her a moment.

                                                    tab tab 🎮 Whatever energy he'd had left in his arms at that point was gone. Any remaining upper body strength sapped from the climb. So it was no wonder he fumbled with the rope, as he tried to swing over to Mika. Falling into the water with her as she'd tried to grab him. Sputtering, as he pushed himself onto his knees, seated in the water. Most of the mud coming off him now too. Slowly pushing himself to his feet as Mika stood by him. Hesitating at her question, if he was okay. Hating to admit he really wasn't, but he wouldn't lie to Mika. Plus he was sure she could tell pretty well by now. Especially as his body trembled now, from the adrenaline and the heaving of his chest from his breathing. Reluctantly giving a shake of his head, "N-no..." He wasn't okay. It was hard enough to get out that one word as he wheezed again. Looking at what had been left, the tire squeeze and after were hurdles.

                                                    tab tab 🎮 Perseverance, that was the look in his eyes as he looked at Mika after glancing at the rest of the course. He highly doubted he could finish the last two parts, but, Masaaki was determined to try if he could. Having tuned out Spade's barking remarks a little ways back on the course already, Masaaki was focused just on Mika and her presence. "I...I want to...I want to try." After they'd wrung out water from their clothes, Masaaki moved slowly toward the tire squeeze. He looked at it with trepidation, dropping down to make the attempt the crawl under it. Thoroughly under anticipating just how difficult it was going to be, especially with the pressure and tension he already felt in his lungs. Being smushed under the tires was more then he could handle. The weight on his body, his chest, lungs. Masaaki had barely made it under the first of the tires when his heart raced, lungs tightening and his vision blurred.

                                                    tab tab 🎮 Gasping out, panic set in as he could hardly draw in air. Fingers clawed against the ground, wriggling like a trapped animal. Masaaki's senses getting disoriented as he tried to either pull himself through it or push himself back out from under it. Trying to scuttled back out from it like a crab, but he felt stuck and started to struggle, his body almost thrashing against the pressure of the tire on him. Shaking, all he'd heard was a pop and a sudden release of pressure on his body, gasping for air. Hands trembling and fumbling for the inhaler in the pocket of his pants. Seeing spots in his vision, Masaaki lay on his back, staring up and just shaking. He'd just about had a panic attack, but he wasn't under the tires anymore. What had happened? He hadn't even realized it, not even hearing Spade's barking remarks, that Mika had sent a shock through and popped the tires pressing on him. All he knew was he didn't want to go through that course again, his lungs burned and his body trembling as he lay on the ground trying to reorient his senses. "-'m sor---i'm sorry," quietly repeating it again, sorry he'd failed getting through that course. He'd tried, he really had.
