Through the chaotic events in the eyes of this large beast, having been attacked by a pack of smaller creatures and now these other creatures seemingly throwing fire at it, the beast was in no way paying attention as the wall popped up it would run into it head first. The dazed creature would fall over onto it's side, squirm around for a moment before managing to get back on it's feat. Still clearly in a panic, ready to escape from it's attackers at any moment once again. Of course the beast's train of thought suddenly changed as a smell entered it's nose coming from the small boy. Approaching the small boy, the large beast's tongue would pop out of it's mouth and lick the small boy as if trying to taste the boy to see if he was food. Of course, from it's open mouth the others would be able to tell this beast was one incapable of causing harm by biting due to it's rather odd lack of teeth.

Well, Airen was safe and that's all that in Inoyuri's book. The adorable tyke was off the beast and scrambling away while it was busy directing its attention elsewhere besides him. The Yamanaka was quickly to gently coax the little guy, hugging him closely after kneeling down to make sure that he was alright. He pulled out a little instrument and would practice his genjutsu while everyone stared proud of his accomplishments. "Way to go, Ai-chan. Your Genjutsu's even better than it was before." Everyone appeared split on what to really do. Arashikara and her wanted to take more preventative ways before charging face first into the fray, but Chouka wanted a more direct approach than any. The boy let out a huff and would remain silent while Chouka would make her intentions known. "Well, I guess we should think of something or other. W-We can go along with Chouka if we want to...y'know." Inoyuri frowned, attempting to find some kind of gap between everyone but just giving Arashikara a weak expression. "Sorry..."

“Hmmmm.” The Nara hummed to herself once Chouka replied to her. The larger girl was as gung ho as ever, and Arashikara knew better than to argue with her more than she needed to. Which was any amount more than zero. Arashikara didn’t have the energy for it, especially after the jutsu she just pulled off. Not on her own. But she doubted Airen would be able to be much help, and Inoyuri was performing a professional act of sitting on a fence. So Arashikara just sighed and shrugged before rubbing the back of her head.
“Yeah, makes sense.” Arashikara shifted her gaze to look off to the distance, across the vast ocean of sand. Despite Chouka’s insistence on not needing a plan, Arashikara couldn’t help her mind wandering as she thought about the task before them. They didn’t know much, so any plan of action would have far too many variables to it, and she didn’t like that. It made her stomach feel heavy. “I think the best thing we can do is try to lure it out of the cave, maybe with some food or something…” She began to explain. “And then before it leaves, I can try and use the shadows in that cave to trap it. And then we’ll play it by ear from there. Sound good to y‘all?” Arashikara would wait for confirmation before going in the direction Inoyuri mentioned their target was hiding.
Even though Airen could have spent all day just sitting there listening to Inoyuri's music, even under the beating sun, he knew his older keepers had something else they needed to get done. He had sat down briefly after Inoyuri gave him his welcome and check-up hugs and looks, even despite his rather slobbered state, but now he stood up and bowed to the trio to show his gratitude, "Thank you so much for helping me with my mission. Especially you, ane-san! You were super cool! And of course, I'm only safe because of nee-chan!". Straightening up, he stood tall, trying to show off he could take care of himself. "I can finish the rest of my mission by myself thanks to you, so you don't have to worry about me anymore. I'll just stay here a little longer to see if any of the little ones are alive, and then I'll go back to the camp we passed by to wait for you?". He could tell that the two he was closest to the three were uncomfortable, and much as he wanted help them feel more comfortable, Airen also knew that he would probably just hold them back. He would probably be most helpful if he just stayed somewhere safe and far away. If he went, Inoyuri wouldn't be able to stop worrying about him, and he knew that Arashikara only seemed so exhausted right now because she had helped him.
Arashikara came up with a decent plan. Lure the thing out with food. "Wait! Kid! We could use you as a lure." Chouka slammed a fist into her open hand as the epiphany fully reached her. "Yeah, I reckon we could get the thing out if we wave Airen around like a little grub!" It made perfect sense. Arashikara waited with her shadows to grab the thing, Inoyuri made sure Airen didn't get eaten, and Chouka beat the daylights out of the monster. "Come on, admit it, it's perfect! It'll totally work." The slobbery kid would be enticing to a beast, she thought. She really wanted to get a good look at the alleged devil. There was some excitement to her steps as she travelled where they needed to go, wondering if she should use her axe to fight the devil or just her bare hands. She kind of wanted to wrestle the thing.

As the group of them spoke, and tried to figure out what was going on, how they were going to and should approach their mission. The larger monster they were meant to be fighting, what would they do with it? Well, time was soon up. It'd been a bit since the last time they had checked, Inoyuri's tremor sense information was now old news. The group would soon come to realize exactly that. Stomp, Stomp, Stomp. The earth shaking sound of large footsteps would serve as the warning they would get. The understanding they would now have as the beast same color of the earth and sand around them stepped into the light from the shadows of the surrounding rock faces. Slowly, menacingly. The beast's silhouette giving off the exact impression as many people had described to them in the witness accounts. A devil. It's form large, perhaps it's largest dimension being around one hundred feet, from horn to the back of it's mace like tail. Then as it noticed the four humans, it let out an even more earth shaking and deafening roar. A battle cry, signaling to the group they would be in for a fight. Airen's new friend suddenly sent once more into a panic. Prey instincts kicking in immediately and causing the beast to attempt to flee from the large predator. Then the beast's axe-shaped mace like tail would swing around as it's body turned. Speeds perhaps uncanny for the size of the beast, slamming into the pink haired girl and sending her quickly flying off, leaving only Inoyuri, Arashikara, and Airen. While the small goldren dragon, Aldrich flew close by although seemingly still unwilling to help.

The mission had gone awry. the group would have been able to enact their plan of using Airen as bait. Inoyuri was one hundred percent against the idea and had to be begrudgingly told that the plan would go as they followed. So as the plan went into actions, things went...less than they had planned. For one, the beast proved too much for everyone to really care for, as Inoyuri was forced to watch as his companions were thrown into the gauntlet, one by one. He did his best to help aleviate some of their defenses but the beast's might was too great. Chouka and Min Min would be among the first casualities, with Arashikara having sacrificed herself for Inoyuri and Airen to escape. Of course, the Yamanaka would take the child's hand and begin to sprint towards safety, worrying that the beast would find the both of them next. "C'mon, Ai-chan." he said, trying to calm the boy in case he was worried and frantic. While they would be on their way returning, his thoughts began to turn on him, blaming himself for this disasterous mission gone awry, If he didn't have such a useless bloodline and could contribute more, this could have been avoided. Maybe the other two would have been alive still. His thoughts were causing mayhem internally, with is expression giving away the fear within. "We have to report the news. I don't know what Iksin will think of this..."

The giant burden beast fled in a panic, and Airen was forced in the opposite direction by Inoyuri. "Ah," was his only sound of complaint, his hands reaching out to the escaping burden beast for but a moment before he focused on his stumbling and tripping legs to keep apace with Inoyuri. Doing his utmost to keep up, he called out in confusion, "Nee-chan? Nee? Nee?". The world was a blur with him, and he could hear only his heart beating desperately in his ears, his footsteps pounding into the dry dirt, and the deafening sounds created by the giant dragon they ran from. Pink hair thrown about. Blonde hair whizzing to his and Inoyuri's defense. However, his child's mind struggled to process it all in time.
He and Inoyuri were well on the retreat from the battle, by the time Airen's thoughts could catch up to the situation at hand. Inoyuri was already talking about reporting defeat. It was already too late to go back for Arashikara, but he had only realized now that they couldn't leave Arashikara or Chouka behind, "But-" Gasps for air broke apart his speech. He couldn't talk right when running this fast. "Friends... Save."
With Arashikara attempting to stay behind and hold the beast from moving. Inoyuri and Airen's attempt at escape, the beast moving through Arashikara's shadow possession through sheer force of will. It was like the beast couldn't be held down, something about it stopping the controlling technique from truly taking hold. As the shadows broke, and the beast charged aiming to run clean through Arashikara and to the other two who were running...the golden dragon who was functionally the escort of the group had taken action...finally. A circle of chakra appearing directly in front of Arashikara. Then just in time, like stepping out of the circle, Iksin appeared. Stopping the beast with hard punch to head knocking it back. "Go find Chouka." He said to Aldrich, who would fly off. A clone of Iksin appearing right next to him out of another circle of chakra that would take the unconscious Arashikara. Appearing next to Inoyuri and Airen who were escaping running off with them.
