They show their ancestry with things like small feathered wings (not large enough for them to fly), eyes that glow, maybe even a glowing aura. They tend toward light colors. Racial Rules: They can't be any form of undead. Otherwise, anything goes.

Their hair floats around their head and they have fairy fire floating under their hands. They have bioluminescence markings. Clothing is often made of plant matter and animal skins. Name: Ignisfae The Story Behind the Race: Beware following lights in the forest, for you know not where they might lead. A common cautionary tale told to children and travelers that may have originally been a result of the Ignisfae. They use the fairy fire they can create to lure unwary kats into their territories to eat.
A matriarchal society, Ignisfae follow the guidance of their older women with one crone usually running a few family groups living together. Racial Rules: All are ebil
Owner Username: spelldancer How Many Races Do You Currently Have?: zero Lineart To Use: Make Love Not War One Gender or Two?: 2: both Physical Description: They have no set clothing style or colors but tend to favor long hair and love their shoes. Name: Truth Speakers The Story Behind the Race: Sometime long ago, one of the truth speakers angered some god that cursed the whole race so they canโt lie. The exact god is unknown and changes depending on which oral tradition version is told. The story goes that the ancestor was trying to bluff a god in such a way as to swindle the god out of something precious. This ranges from a gemstone to a child depending on the version. In his (or her) anger, the god cursed all of the liarโs descendants so that they cannot lie.
This does not mean that deception cannot happen. If the kat believes it to be true, they can speak it, or if they know what they are being misinterpreted in a way that is not true, as long as what they say is true, they can speak it. Many Truth Speakers actually pride themselves on being able to deceive the unaware. Racial Rules: Can be any alignment

ZaeZaea are often mistaken for other races, to the point that some donโt believe they actually exist. They are considered freaks and often outcasts by those that acknowledge them. Due to the fact that they are often considered unsetting by others, small bands of ZaeZaea live together to for support and community, each group with their own created culture. (this is influenced by BG lore, yes). Name: Chosen The Story Behind the Race: Chosen are mortals who have been selected by gods to be their agents in the mortal realm. Whether by being pawns or attempting to change the course of events, Chosen are always selected from birth and are typically raised by other Chosen to set themselves on their paths. There is an agreement between a Chosen and their god. The Chosen lives to serve their god in the best ways that they can and their god gifts them small amounts of power in return. Racial Rules: Any alignment, any lineart, but has to be focused on one specific domain holding god (not a racial god). I'd say that there should be a chance for Chosen to have Chosen offspring of their specific god, but that it's not a guaranteed situation unless they breed with someone higher up the power chart.

These fae have been blessed with good tidings, able to see into the future to bring joyous tidings to all faekind. They typically travel to different kingdoms/towns/etc and offer their services to all manner of fae to help spread good news. As such, having oracles around are considered good luck! Racial Rules: Good aligned only! Likely would not mate/breed with ebil fae, but neutral are okay! Any Oracle offspring would be auto good aligned unless idk, blessed by a demi that can bless ebil alignment.

Owner Username: Kinu How Many Races Do You Currently Have?: None! Lineart To Use: Meanki (OG lines) One Gender or Two?: Female Physical Description: Base appearance is usually quite beautiful and alignment does not dictate specific colors or features. Universally they sport an iridescent, glittery, or glimmering shimmer to their coats and coat colors range broadly with the most common being jewel-tones. They have lengthier, more elegant ears that end in tufts, slit pupils, thicker neck fluff, and long, fluffy tails that are wispy, like smoke. Name: Shifters The Story Behind the Race: Many Kats throughout Faetasia believe Shifters are an old-wives tale, an excuse to explain away a multitude of emotional and memory related problems. A lover suddenly falling out of love, a Kat forgetting what they were doing, a friend unable to recall a memory, the list goes on and on. While most of these problems are not the fault of an actual Shifter, some most certainly are. Shifters, contrary to popular belief, do exist. They are a secretive, shape-shifting race within Faetasia that psychically feed on the emotions and experiences of other Kats. Their reason for shapeshifting into different races varies from Shifter to Shifter, be it to see Faetasia through the eyes of whichever race they have temporarily become, to gain access to places, experiences and groups of Kats they might not be able to otherwise infiltrate stealthily given their striking appearance, or simply to move through the world without arousing suspicion. They communicate mostly through telepathy but can speak if the need arises. When they do choose to speak their voices carry a strange but distinct echo. Most sound like a true echo, others like the echoes of a whalesong, and some like a single voice with many other voices whispering the same words at the same time or even trailing along after a word has been spoken. Another curious trait of this race is that Shifters have no scent. They naturally do not smell like anything, therefore each one will seek out a signature scent (a specific flower, perfume, soap, etc.) to claim for their own. Physical strength is not their forte and the race relies on psychic power to confuse, knock back/knock out, or otherwise lull to sleep an aggressor. While their alignments vary greatly from brood to brood, as well as their temperaments, the majority of Shifters are neutral or good and do not wish to harm the kats they feed upon. This means to feed they have to be clever in order to get close enough to lull their chosen meal into a trance before that person becomes suspicious of their actual intent and either flees or attacks. The races over-all secretive nature makes others naturally suspicious or wary of them if discovered and it is easy to understand why.
Shifters have a bad reputation that almost entirely stems from an ebil aligned splinter brood which split off years ago after becoming corrupted somehow. Instead of harmlessly tasting and leaving Kats unaltered, if not a little groggy, they steal experiences and emotional moments from other kats, constantly chasing more powerful and extreme ones when their last feed begins to wane. The majority of Shifters believe this corruption is what caused the race to be inflicted by a bane. All Shifters, no matter their alignment, suffer intense pain and cannot shift properly/will revert to their original forms if they go too long without feeding. This means that if they are in a large group of kats and are starving they might begin to change back into their actual form involuntarily. This kind of irresponsible behavior is considered taboo among Shifters and is avoided at all costs.
Shifters rarely, if ever, let outsiders into their hidden world and it is forbidden to bring them back to the elaborate crystal caves they prefer to inhabit. Each grouping of Shifters is headed by the eldest and most experienced Shifter of the Brood but these communities do not believe in traditional hierarchy. Instead everyone watches out for everyone else, decisions are made as a whole, and experiences are shared and treasured when possible. Young are reared by the entire brood and there is no tension between broods, even ebil aligned. The only hostility within the race is if an Ebil aligned Shifter tries to corrupt a neutral or good aligned Shifter against their will.
Racial Rules:
Alignments: Good, Neutral and Ebil.
Breeding: Shifters breed with whoever they like but if the baby comes out a Shifter it will be taken to the brood to be raised by its kin. Male's cannot become Shifters and do not possess the abilities of their mothers. It is extremely rare that a Shifter will be left in the care of the father/non-Shifter mother as a young Shifter has very little control over their Shifting and feeding abilities.
Feeding: Shifters sample and feed to ease the emptiness within themselves as the race struggles to produce genuine emotions naturally. The stronger the emotion, the longer it will sate the Shifters appetite and the race tries to go as long as possible between feedings if they can, but the hunger always returns eventually. Many have specific feeding preferences which eventually influences and shapes their individual personalities and how they interact with others. Shifters lull prey into a trance and extract feelings energetically, this leaves the Kat dazed and exhausted but otherwise fine (fully recovered after a good nights sleep and otherwise unharmed/unaltered with no memory of the encounter). The only harm to prey comes from Ebil aligned Shifters who will actually steal emotions and memories from Kats, even to the point of draining them completely and leaving them an emotionless husk. The only cure is to confront the Shifter and either barter with them, convince them to give the emotions/memories back, or kill the Shifter itself.
Shifting: A Shifter only has to look at another Kat to change into them and they can shift into any gender they choose. When a Shifter changes into another Race they take on the abilities, behaviors, and voice of that race/individual only until they shift back. They do not possess an individuals memories unless they have fed on them however. Any racial abilities will be much weaker than the actual race itself but just strong enough to be convincing if needed. Some Shifters will actually change races to fight off an attacker if they cannot lull them to sleep or put them into a trance.

Owner Username: Uta How Many Races Do You Currently Have?: 0 Lineart To Use: Faehorse - Possibly a Sub-breed as opposed to a Full Race // Would be open to all lineart as well if Management would prefer One Gender or Two?: Both Physical Description: CarouFae are always beautiful, no matter their alignment. They have longer fetlocks upon their feet as well as ankle wings, elegantly tufted ears, a set of feathered head wings and, most importantly, flowers which grow out of their manes and tails. The females are more delicately boned, with longer, delicate ears and features, while the males are particularly muscular and strong and usually have larger headwings. Every CarouFae has flowers which sprout from their mane and tail. The most common are roses, but any flower, or a variety of flowers, is known to grow.
Evil or damned CarouFae might have flowers that are withered or dying, poisonous, or otherwise found in darker or less saturated colors.
CarouFae are proud of the reins and adornments they wear, which are all reminiscent of carousel garb. This can include flowers, silks, ribbons, tack, armor, gemstones, saddles, banners, jewelry, and wraps. They tend to be very colorful, but there is no hard rule. Name: CarouFae The Story Behind the Race: There are many different FaeHorses that run among Faetasia, but this group originated with a herd that eventually became isolated from much of Faetasia until recently. They were a colorful lot, who were known for their love of racing, as well as running through the lands of Faetasia. Only recently have they decided to step out and race through the rest of Faetasia.
On top of their love of the races, the Fae were known for their great beauty. Vanity is one of their greatest weaknesses, and the CarouFae primp and preen daily. The CarouFae were known for weaving flowers within their manes and tails to compliment their appearance, as well as compliment their racing tack. Winners would often tie their ribbons and flowers earned into their garb, becoming more ostentatious with every accomplishment.
Legend says their beauty so pleased the gods that at some point they were blessed with flower magic, and each CarouFae was born with living flowers in their hair and tails. Time hasn't changed this. Nowadays, the great CarouFae take great pride in their flowers and they almost all have a soft spot for gardening and caring for flowers.
Every CarouFae born is granted simple tack as a child, and it is up to the Fae to dye it, as well as adorn it. The adornments come from ribbons which are won from races, or granted by other CarouFae for some great task or deed done; others adorn their tack through crafting, and find the finest silks and gems to weave within their tack. Further more, the CarouFae usually always make sure their own flowers are healthy and thriving. Overall, the appearance of ones tack says a lot about the CarouFae in question -- it can tell of the Fae's alignment, of their interests, their deeds, their rank, as well as their overall health and personality.
Those with simpler tack might not have as much clout as those heavily adorned and decorated CarouFae.
To have ones flowers and tack stripped or cut off is an act of great pain, physically and emotionally for the Fae. It's a sign of exile. There are some exiled CarouFae out there -- those who have no flowers in their mane, those who wear no tack -- but their fetlocks, footwings, and headwings will give them away. No matter how they trim the hair, or rip out the feathers, there is no escaping ones heritage no matter how they run from it.
Ultimately, some CarouFae lives in herds, while others separate to live however they wish. There are good CarouFae and bad CarouFae, damned CarouFae, undead CarouFae, and everything in between.
Racial Rules: They can become anything, but their flowers, items and adornments will change based on their alignment. So for an undead CarouFae they might have withered flowers instead of fresh one, or bones and rotting leathers instead of gems or ribbons. A vampire CarouFae might have fangs and mesh and prefer reds and black as opposed to brighter colors. However, the tack and flowers within the hair and tail are a must -- though the flowers can be edited to be a different type of flower.
