my mom always talked about the moral side of it, and school did the scientific side of it. i think a lot of people miss the emotional side of sex. it's a major part of it for a lot of people, so make sure that isn't skiped. i would make sure that you are always open, and bring it up often. maybe not, "hey son, let's talk sex," but in a way that when he does have questions, it's not uncomfortable to talk to you. because i was spoken to for years about sex and the mechanics (school started sex ed for me in the 4th grade), i never had any of the major questions. the only questions i had were the things other than that stuff, and i had friends to go to for that. so, i feel well informed. if you feel your son may not be getting all the information he should be, make sure you tell him. being ill informed can lead to trouble.

neither of my parents talked to me or my brother about sex. If you could start talking to them younger i think it would be better.

There was always jokes about sex going on around my house but I never ever had the "talk". Well, I kinda did but It was more of me giving my mom the talk...and me being slightly drunk. Now it's just, "ARE YOU PREGNANT??!?!" "NO!"

Hahahaha, that sounds sort of dysfunctional, but in a very amusing way ^_^ Well, I wouldn't talk to him about it as long as he's in a cradle. You don't have to worry for another few years

My parents never gave me "the talk" but I never really cared enough to ask. The class in school gave me all the info I really needed. And other stuff you just sort of know when you're old enough.

my mom has never talked to me about it. :B I've learned all the scientific stuff in school, but that's about it. :/ I dun think I need to rly know much about it, anyway. I have learned a few things from some magazines, too. but not directly from my mom or anything like that.

Don't be scared first off, he probably will no more by the time you talk to him, than you would guess. You can use a book or something for the pysical part, but you need to also have him realize the emotional part.

Beats me, my mom never gave me the sex talk (she thought I was taking sex ed, but the school screwed up that year and I was a library aid instead. I don't know whether to be grateful for hidden porn in seemingly innocent web sites or not. sweatdrop )

I never received the talk from my parents. I learned some things from a book I got from them though. It's a giant book of questions and answers, so sex was one of the topics that was included in there. I also heard things from my friends or read things on the Internet.

yeah, my mom gave me a book. She said "read it". that was it. And in case you're curious it was the "What's happening to my body book for girls" hehe.

The closest thing to "the talk" that I have recieved was "dont do it!!" (my family is Cathiloc, therefore if i had sex I go to hell.....)

Oh, and last week my mum asked me if I had had sex with my boyfriend yet, since I am moving in with him in a few months.... most akward conversation of my life.... and yes, I lied.....

I know my parents never really talked about it to me and I'm pretty sure they didn't talk to my brother about it. They just let school teach me. It was probably much better that way. I can't even imagine trying to talk about it with my mom >_<
