Nothing will ever be able to compete with A Link to the Past. I really love the 16-bit graphics, even better than the newer, more realistic ones. It's just a quirk of mine, but if I'm going to be playing a video game, I want it to be a little pixellated and fake-looking. I'm only slightly familiar with the first two games, and haven't played any of the games for Game Boy or GBA. The only two new-ish ones I've played are Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. They were okay, but I kind of have to detach myself from the mindset that I am playing Zelda games or they irritate me.

I never had the pleasure of an NES of my own when I was a child; we had a Sega Master System instead.. but my boyfriend bought me a top-loading NES last year and I'm catching up. I've played through Adventure of Link a bit and it's a bit odd playing Zelda like a Mario-ish platform game, but I like it. Anyway, I like the older ones because they're harder and have better gameplay. It seems that when they made the newer games gameplay was thrown out the window when they realized that the graphics could be improved so much. >.>

See i disagree, part of what makes Zelda so good all together is the fact that you have to use your brain to figure out what happens next. they all do it, the difference is te NES games graphics are weaker, so it's harder to remember exactly where you were versus in the newer ones with the better graphics.

I have no problems remembering where I am in the older games. But I mean, look at the materials that come with the game, for one. A Link to the Past was so difficult in places that it came with a book of 'game secrets' that people might miss. Not a separate guide that you had to buy, but one that came with the game. And the secrets were really things that would be easy to miss if you hadn't played the game before.

The only part of Ocarina of Time that was difficult in that manner was the water temple. Nothing I can remember from Majora's Mask was really that difficult. I've not played the Wind Waker (mostly because I don't like the thought of Zelda being put into cel-shading), or Twilight Princess (I don't own a gamecube, and I am opposed to the controller for the Wii, which is what all of my friends have the game for).

Well, since I havent really played any newer Zelda games...i cant say much about Windwaker, Twilightr Princess, or any of the gameboy ones.

I loved the original the best, although i completly suck at it.
Next would be Orcarina of time, the stroy line was wonderful ^_____^
The windwaker, i guess would be next, although I have only played the demo version of it and couldnt do much in 20 mins. I think he looks funny ^_^
