If you love vampires, you should definitely invest a few months' worth of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Lychens and vampires are equally bloodthirsty, though maybe vampires are a bit more sweet as their folklore spawned from Vlad the Impaler.... a definite badass ********.

Vampires most definately. They TEND to be smarter (although lucian from Underworld was no slacker when it came to intellegence) and are definetly more attractive. They always have that seductive allure and ages of wisdom. I'm a big Anne Rice fan myself but that doesn't mean I'm right either. And just a note, Kate Beckinsale was absolutely amazing in the Underworld movies.

Though I could have done without a couple of R-rated scenes in Evolution. stare I never much liked Lucian, though. There weren't a whole lot of characters I'm especially fond of, (but Selene was one of them,) but the action and story are what clinch it for me. Never seen Labyrinth... Mayhap I shall check it out.

Mhm. I wasn't very fond of Lucian either but you have to admit that he wasn't that savage, blood thirsty lycan that the others seemed to be (not that there's anything wrong with that). Yes! Selene was very attractive and I loved her character. I also liked Kraven a bit, but not for his personality ;D
What did you think of Queen of the Damned? Although Akasha and Lestat weren't true to the book (not much was) I think that Alliyah and Stuart Townsend did very good.

Vampire the Masquerade, from White Wolf publishing company. Don't just read. Play. Old Wolrd of Darkness vampire and werewolf settings are great, gaming mechanics are simple and quick to adapt. You just have to know some basics of real roleplaying and rolling dice first.
But... Blood and Chocolate? Tell me more someone.

Blood and Chocolate? Tell me more someone. Blood and Chocolate is a book about a group of werewolves living in modern... Maryland? Somewhere like that. Anyway, the main character, Vivian, is being all rebellious and falls in love with a human (oh noes!). It had an awesome plot twist at the end, but the movie mutilated it and made it all cliché.

How did the movie explain that falling in love with human is bad thing? My views are based strongly on WoD, but I'd think anyway that werewolves would quickly become inbred if mating with human was forbidden. wink

My point was that in the book, the point was that a human could never fully understand or even accept a werewolf completely. In the movie, though, they completely glossed over that. I don't know anything about WoD, sorry...

In the movie, though, they completely glossed over that. I still have to voice out one thing, without any critical or questioning goals. The hiding oneself true nature is one of the most important things to a werewolf. WoD sees that one of main aspects of the whole story, no one but a werewolf can really understand another. Yet they have to live among humans keeping the most meaningful thing about themselves as a secret, even from people they love and trust the most. I see a fine tragedy here.
