hmm for me FF8 was my first Ever FF game and i Love it
i didnt play FF7 until i beated FF8 and FF9 and in my Opinion FF8 Surpasses FF7 in All Ways!!! the only thing that makes FF7 Better than FF8 is the Storyline and Seriously i think FF7 Storyline is FAR BETTER than FF8's
so FF8 is Like the GOD of FF games on PSone for me ^_^

Things will always vary for several people. People have their own obsessions or pure admiration for things.

FF7 has its own uniqueness that makes it stand out from some. It's really wonderful. It's hard to explain, it's just in my mind and heart as an admirer...

You know, I sort of agree. I prefer VIII's battle system, graphics (obviously), and whatnot, but VII's storyline is better. For me, though, storyline is the most important factor, so I consider them pretty close rivals.

VIII was my first as well, but I started VII waaaay before I ever finished VIII, so that's not as much of a factor for me.

There's nothing wrong with being a FFVII nerd. I adore VII and IX to pieces.
