Duranjaya contemplates his name and considers it a sort of joke. He is nothing close to being anything like a heroic son. He is distant now, and cares little for more then himself even when his heart yearns to force him to. He has no seen his family in some time; briefly he met his mother but it wasn't long before Duranjaya was on the move again. He feels more comfortable alone then with other Soquili, having become like a ghost to the forests. He is lonely, and knows this well, but after so long of wandering on his own and becoming embittered to the world around him, it is the only way he knows to be.
Part of him is still the heroic, eager to please colt he once was. But he is a changed Soquili, for certain, and sees everything in a sort of Machiavellian way. What can he get out of helping others, besides a moment's reprieve from solitude and even shorter gratitude. Perhaps time will change him, or perhaps it will make him worse off, but Duranjaya has given up on openly attempting to meet others. If it happens, it will happen.
