Giegue_Endymion question: if a pokemon is holding a power item and another is holding an exp. share and you defeat a golbat, getting you 6 speed evs, does the exp sharer also get 6 evs or does it only get 2? I believe I understand, I read it from somewhere else, and this helps even more. When you use an item like power band, it only increases the user's EVs earned. Meaning that the pokemon holding the exp. share shouldn't get the extra EVs. A sad fact of EV training...

Yay! I finally understand this stuff!! I only takes me 1 to 2 hours max to fully EV train my pokemon, of course having the power items REALLY helps and using vitamins before anything else speeds things up. Now I need another Power item and more money. sweatdrop 3nodding

So, would pokémon that appear.. on the first route, like bidoof, that gain 1EV in health- Would they not give any EV's for other things, like speed?

I tried EV training, but when I checked the EV Calculator My Dragonite only had the stats of a wild pokemon. I used the brace, and I have pokerus, and I trained on the one pokemon with the stat I wanted. Am I missing something?

ev trainin makes me spend 5 hours before fighting the first gym leader to get 100 evs in two main stats, I'll stick with making legit hacks and non ev training the pokemon i get in the begining

It shouldn't be confusing. EV means Effort Value. Each Pokemon can obtain 510 of these values(*points)/255 Max. per stat. For every 4 EV's you collect, the stat for which those EV's represented will go up by 1 at level 100. That said, do NOT expect your stats to rise from your EV training until level 100. Once your pokemon hits level 100 - the EV's for which you acquired will raise those stats. For example: Say you just caught a Starly and you want to EV train it. You go about collecting only Atk EV's and Spd EV's (252 EV's for Atk and Spd) You can only have a maximum of 510 EV per Pokemon. You can have a Maximum of 255 per Stat, but since 255 is not divisible by 4, it's best to use 252 in both it's Atk and Spd and use the remaining 6 for another stat. For easier training you can use accessories that offer more EV's than normal or use Vitamins. Vitamins though should only be used for the first 100 EV's to be placed in any stat. For example: Say our Starly needs 252 EV in Atk. Let's also suggest it's newly hatched or has consumed berries to have it's previous EV's removed to 0. Vitamins will only work for the first 100 EV's in a stat. So use a Vitamin that raises Atk EV's - Protein - until 100 EV's have been placed. Each Protein will give you 10 EV. Thus, 10 Proteins = 100 Atk EV. After 100, Vitamins have 0 effect. So train with Vitamins FIRST. But at 9800 a pop it's not cheap. Having Pokerus doubles EV's obtained gained in battle. Having a power accessory would give you +4 EV. Anyways - lots to learn; look around n_n
