Because of this background, the silver stallion is an uncommonly graceful dancer that greatly enjoys the opportunity to perform or to teach others what he knows. Once arrogant and wild, he was tamed by the kindness of a young woman who sought to escape her old life. To accomplish this, she disguised them both and boarded a ship bound for exploration of the New World.
Arriving here in the belly of a great ship, Sibalto is one of the few horses that arrived with the settlers many years ago. There were only a half dozen of them that traveled across the ocean, upon arrival they separated and have not crossed paths in many years. Enjoying this new world and all it has to offer, the silver stallion elected to stay behind when the ships depart. While within this land Sibalto has seen many incredible things, including the horses of the sea, and strange, beautiful beasts with wing and scale and horn. He has made friends from many walks of life, and delights in each new lesson and experience.
Far more settled now than he was as a younger stallion, Sibalto is charming and kindhearted. Eager to make friends, he has a gentle demeanor, a silver tongue, and wisdom gained from experience. Happy to take younger stallions under his wing and teach them the arts of dance and war, provide help with navigating, or just advise them on where he's gone and what he's seen. He has two children and many adopted family members, becoming a mentor and guardian to the friends of his son, grand son and so on.
Utterly devoted to his lifemate Firefly, Sibalto has proud of the many generations of his descendants he has the fortune to visit with regularly. About: Born to a sire that was musically inclined and a mother of exotic elegance, Aureate quickly grew from a good-natured colt into a fearless young stallion with a flair for music and fancy flight work. Constantly wandering and often finding himself in trouble, he thankfully also had a knack for picking up great friends.
His daredevil attitude had him performing all sorts of aerial stunts, and he was especially delighted to make a spectacle of himself at dawn or sunset. Backlit by a rising or sinking sun, his dives and sweeping ascents looked all the more sharp. In his youth, he befriended a young, regular mare that he strove to entertain with his stunts, and this practice continued into his youth with ever-growing dramatics. Still, for whatever reason they grew apart, Eponine finding romance elsewhere.
Spurred on by the loss of his friend (and first love) Aure did quite a bit of wandering in his youth, exploring the various terrains of the lands and delighting in meeting all manner of folk. The horses of the sea were of great interest to him, as are the Griffs and Harpys that live in the mountains. Skinwalkers and Kalonas have never been his favorite interactions, so he tends to avoid such dangerous persons when he can. For a time he found comfort with a regular mare or two, even lifemating for a time, and welcoming two groups of children. Regardless, neither relationship lasted for long and the lifemating was eventually dissolved.
With a few missteps in romance behind him, Aure is the proud sire of three beautiful daughters that he spends as much time as possible with. His relationship with his sons is a far more complicated matter and not one that he is very happy to discuss. Still, the arrival of grandfoals is a special delight to him, and he looks forward to meeting Masque's children (in spite of their sire). He has also recently rekindled his friendship with Eponine, and is once again attempting to court her upon learning that she too is alone. Perhaps they can finally be happy together if fate is kind...

About: Born to the dark and enigmatic Firefly and the silver and sweet Sibalto, placed into a Basket. About: Akaria has to be patient, she has four generations of SilverShadow stallions to look after (and heavens help her because she's got no one else to turn to right now!). Not to mention Sibalto's hot-headed little sister-in-law Alderfly, who just showed up more or less out of the blue. Add that to the fact that there are Kalona and Skinwalkers everywhere and Akaria's got no backup to keep her precious idiots safe, and you sort of see why she's a little on the grumpy side. She's patient, but she's stressed.
She's also very clever and cool-headed in times of crisis (she has to be). It was Akaria's idea to bargain not only for her safety and that of her bonded's, as well as a future gift, when she came across the Kalona stallion Avant Resari, trapped in razor-vines. Ill-tempered and caught as he was, he struck a bargain with the wily she-fox in order to obtain his freedom, because though he was loath to admit it he was certainly in need of help. This also resulted in him being forced to promise that if Imrikalto's son Ashrialto was ever in peril, Avant would do what he could to be of aid. (And he would keep his word, of that much Akaria was certain.)
Of course, neither Akaria nor Imrikalto nor even Avant could guess that instead of crossing paths with his savior's son, he would soon find his way to the grandson... And what an interesting soul the winged colt was. Still, Delri is safe if Avant's shadow is following him through the woods... That means Akaria's only responsible for three stallions and one mare. Piece of cake, right? (Seriously, can a she-fox get some help please?)

Mate: N/A History: A son of a distant land, Aveshar arrived in the lands of the Kawani as an adult. Dark, dangerous and ill-tempered; he comes to this hopeful place an even more possessive and wicked individual than the one that left his homeland, changed by the journey. Through time he began testing the light and shadows of the land, gaining several female associates as they are (of course) his preferred company. Referring to the collection of beautiful ladies as his doves, he tends to obtain various trinkets to represent them within the cave he has made his home.
A blight on the face of an otherwise glowing family, Aveshar is the shadow that haunts his bright relatives. For every glittering moment, there must be a void of black to counter it, and the Kalona stallion seemed hellbent on absorbing all creatures of light into the dark of his own soul. Upon hearing rumors that the mare who bore him had arrived to this place injured and disoriented, he sought Whistle out to taunt her. Cruel and malicious though he is, he would allow none but his own self to do her harm. Of course, the arrival of his mother heralded many other disappointments, including the appearance of his sire Ballad and his brother, Kelakohr. For a time Aveshar found it amusing to remain close and taunt them, but eventually, he grew bored and withdrew. At the moment he sees no value in taking their lives, preferring to let them live in dread, or simply be worried or angry at his existence here.
Delighting in his collection as well as the chance to darken an otherwise innocent spirit, Aveshar took to courting a mare called Kanti Nuttah. Eventually, she bore him three baskets before striking off in a (foolish) quest to prove herself tough and brave enough to be considered his equal, rather than just another pet. Of course, this did not go well for the little mare, for she found herself cursed as a Skinwalker with little memory she once bore the dark stallion. Instead, she returned and attempted to slaughter their young, forcing Aveshar to drive the crazed cat away again and again.
Since that somewhat grave misstep, he's done little genuine courting. He prefers to continue to collect the beautiful, unique or odd, plucking feathers or flowers or other such trinkets that remind him of them when he returns to his territory. His children were raised with his goals of collecting others and then unleashed on the land, and from time to time he visits with them to gauge their progress. At this point only his son, Avant, has had children, but the line continues strongly in these three young souls. Still, upon seeing them Aveshar is once again inspired to expand his line, eager for new minds to shape to his own ends.

About: The product of a dalliance that was short-lived, this filly is a mix of her parents but does favor her sire. Her brother favors their mother in looks and markings, and remained with her when the parents separated. After Kaishara was born and came out of her basket, she was kept safe under her father's wing.
Aureate's favored (only) child for a long time, she is still currently the only one of Aureate's children with wings. As such, this filly grew up watching her father pull all sorts of aerial stunts, and then sneaking off to practice them on her own. She's grown up singing, dancing and doing some of the most graceful flying the land has ever seen. Kaishara will often visit the Traveling Lapsang Renaissance Faire to do stunt flights for the friends she has there.
A graceful and outgoing mare, she has had no shortage of admirers. In spite of that, she had a tough time finding Mr. Right. Nevertheless, through a few tumultuous courtships, Kaishara eventually found Nebulae's Hymn. She is happy with her lifemate and when not in his company she spends a lot of time with her sister Masque.

History: Out of the basket he leaps! Quickly growing from colt to stallion, it was evident even then that Ashrialto had a bit of his grandparent's wandering heart. In his youth, he enjoyed spending time with Kaishara, daughter of Aureate. With their fathers so very close, it seemed that the foals would one day unite their herds, though this never came to pass. Still, even as adults Ashrialto finds the time to spend listening to Kaishara sing or trading stories of their adventures. He also loved to race, was ever happy to lend a shoulder or an ear, never hesitating to help those in need.
Grandson of the Silver Stallion, son of Imrikalto, this is Ashrialto. Often racing off to have a chat with his brother Kato, visit his mother, or accompany Kaishara on her adventures, Ash has wandering hooves like the prior generations. Once on the shy side, he's mellowed out a bit and gotten more practiced in his socializing as he's grown. About: A regular mare from Aureate's second breeding, once again he courted a groundwalker. Masque's color mostly comes from her mother, presumably from a throwback relative back along the tree. Born and placed into a basket... This delicate filly leaped out raring to go, the color of fine wine and mulberries, the gold of the sun in her eye and the sky's blue at her hooves. She's delicate hearted and circumspect, only letting herself be free when she thinks she is alone; and then she expresses herself through dance and song.
Though she wasn't really looking for anyone, Masque eventually caught the eye of the darkly seductive Avant. Avant elected to court her largely due to his interest in her skill with music, as it is something that he felt would further his own bloodline. As he was devoted to Delrialto, the need for a female companion did present itself. Though it may have started out as something of a practical arrangement, the three of them have grown into a close relationship.
Masque was proud to welcome three foals, born of her and Avant, but raised by all of the triad. Delrialto is particularly doting, whereas Avant teaches them to hunt and fight and Masque gave them music lessons. As they are grown, Masque looks forward to raising more children with her partners.
Personality: Masque is somewhat quieter than her out-going elder sister, but still a vibrant soul. She loves singing and dancing and telling stories, a trait that runs strongly in her family. About: As a newcomer to this land, Whistle had no memories of her homeland. She did not know her name, her history, her family or her mate. She glimpsed only fragments of that life, half-dreams and remembered snippets of conversation. A look, a smile, a laugh, the presence of warmth at her side or the wind singing through her mane. It made her sorrow deeply, and also fueled her restless hooves.
As she healed and began to recover fragments of knowledge, Whistle began searching in earnest for the family she had lost or been forced to forget. She crossed paths with her dark son a number of times. Though he threatened to attack at each meeting, faced with her weak and alone, Aveshar never made a move to harm her. As she recovered Whistle came to realize who and what he was to her, and indeed began to seek him out as the only one of her family in this place. Walking away from each encounter unscathed, Whistle realized that perhaps her legacy is stronger in her Dark Son than even she expected.
A Child of Another Land and once Matriarch of a proud Clan, Whistle remembered little and spoke even less of her homeland. Eventually, Ballad and his second-eldest son made it to this land and came to find Whistle dwelling here. Their reunion was a happy one, for with Kel here alongside his mother she was able to receive regular healings as well as much needed interaction with those who retained their memories. As time has passed and she has spent time under the healing care of her son, she began to recover her memories.
Now Whistle knows the names of all of her family, can remember her children with perfect clarity, knows the history of her life with her mate and quite a bit of the land they left behind... But rarely does she speak of it. What little she does share is passed on in the form of bedtime stories to her daughter Seriav as well as her grandfoals. Still, it is known even to these young ones that Whistle fought her way through death to stand beside her mate's side more than once. And that she would do the same to protect them, her beloved family.
Whistle has grown and changed through her experiences and over the years. The Fayth and local Spirits have bestowed further grace upon this mare. They have given her new life and returned to her a long-lost token from her beloved, a silver necklace.
Personality: Whistle is as loving as they come. Loyal to a fault, she holds nothing higher than family (no matter what the relatives are like). She would literally walk through the fires of hell to save those she loves, (and indeed, did something of the kind in the past). No one really knows how many times she has fought her way back to her mate and family. Her trials are not something she discusses, only to say that it was well worth the love and joy she has found with Ballad and their children. As such, she will do all she can to make her broken family whole. To this end, she continues to seek the children that are missing.
In the meantime, Whistle is all too willing to take in stray children and teach them all they need to know. She is also happy to be a shoulder to cry on or a sympathetic ear to those who have lost family or loved ones and offers to counsel on several matters that (by now) she is an expert in. Still, the loss of her first two baskets and Aveshar's refusal of their family remains as crippling blows to her heart, and even though he walks a dark path, Whistle loves him still.
A Living Dream and the heart and soul of her mate, if Whistle goes anywhere her mate Ballad is not far behind. Such is the way they both came to be in this land, and have slowly begun collecting the scattered remains of their family around them. The wandering Prince of a long-forgotten herd and a proud warrior besides, Ballad refuses to let any more harm come to her and is therefore less-than-pleased that his dark son remains in this land. Be aware that this lovely indigo mare has a mist-blue shadow, and treat her with care to avoid upsetting him!
About: Once of a great flock of her kind, Aria is a Songbird, named after a song and practically a living music note. She settled quickly in Whistle's company, having observed the mare newly-arrived in this land and injured, with no memory of her past. Even as a hatchling Aria longed to help the mare anyway she could, so as soon as she took flight she joined Whistle in a quest to regain her sense of self, her family, and build a new life in a new land. Though she is small, Aria is graceful and quick, and able to serve as a messenger and a melody whenever Whistle's spirits seem to flag.
It was quite a bit of luck to find Whistle's mate Ballad, as well as one of their much-beloved children Kelakohr. Aria would have been content with that, but fate also saw fit to introduce her to Minstrel, the somewhat-overly-serious Hummingbird who protectively shadowed Ballad's movements. A noble and very charming bird, Minstrel was a little stiff-natured at first, but slowly relaxed and the two familiars were able to form their own bond. Now, after some years together, Aria is pleased to finally welcome two younglings to add to the growing Clan. It certainly helps matters in light of recent situations, and more messengers is always a good thing.
Her firstborn, Ossia, is most like Aria herself. Light-hearted but practical, Ossia took one look at the far-ranging sunset-colored colt that was Whistle's grandson, and then gave her mother an exasperated glance. To be fair, Aria recognized that look from her own face. And in that moment she knew where her daughter would assign herself, and was pleased to see she was proven correct when Ossia left the nest. Ossia will shadow the trouble-seeking Arioso, and hopefully keep him from being eaten by a Kalona.
Not all that surprisingly, their second fledged child, Vire took strongly after his father. A hummingbird and Minstrel's very echo, Vire was serious and honorable, protective and proud. Aria watched him rise from the nest in interest, and blinked in surprise as he attached himself to Ballad and Whistle's new daughter Seriav. The Alicorn filly was mute, and it seemed that with a few gestures and a glance she could communicate perfectly well with her new familiar. Honestly, Aria saw only good in this, for before Vire took flight Minstrel had swiftly and unflinchingly taken up the task of protecting the young princess. With what Aria could only describe as alarming enthusiasm. Now both her children are nearby, but happily bonded and (hopefully) keeping their Soquili companions out of trouble.

About: Known to go strangely serious when anyone asks, Ballad says little of his history. It is known he was the Eldest son of a powerful herd, and he once acted as their envoy and emissary. He may on occasion speak of the fact that the herd was short on trust and eventually fell to infighting, though it is not clear if Ballad was still with them or if he had taken his leave before then. Regardless, the herd is a part of his past that he does not wish to relive or share with those in his present.
After his time with the herd Ballad wandered alone for a long while. He will, when the mood strikes, share stories of where he went and what he saw on these adventures. (He has found his grandson to be particularly enthusiastic about the matter.) Ballad is also known to tell the story of meeting his Lady in his dreams, during this solitary wandering. Though it is known to be part of the truth, neither he nor Whistle share the whole of the tale. (That is something just for them.)
Though he did not have to walk through the Mists of the Farplane to find life, Ballad is nevertheless grateful for every day. As such, he rises well before the sun for a morning gallop, and returns to his lady's side eager to start the day. (Whistle does not understand this strange ritual or exactly how Kel came to mimic it, but she lovingly nuzzles her mate farewell in the morning if she is awake or flicks an ear in farewell if she is asleep.) As far as stories he does tell, Ballad does like to speak about how his most joyous moment was meeting his lady, and the next in being reunited with his family. Still, welcoming their daughter Trillium (the first surviving child in the land) out of her basket and into the world is certainly on that list.
Ballad is a Living Song, a Fayth and a Warrior. He strives to help those in need, protect those he loves, and make a safe place for his family. Even though he is beside his mate's side and helping to raise their daughter, he still wants to continue the search for his missing children, Casalure and Sunisra. Personality: Ballad is a noble individual, brave, true, steadfast. He has many fine qualities, and is a strong leader and a caring friend. Once the son of a great herd and their envoy for peace, he does not speak of that herd, his history or why he left it all behind. Still, he is a commanding presence, a skilled negotiator, diplomatic, sociable and level-headed in times of crisis. He is also a warrior, skilled in tracking, and has a keen mind for paths and map-making. After leaving his herd behind, Ballad wandered a long time alone. It is not known how long or how far he walked before eventually growing tired and falling into a strange, exhausted sleep during which he had many peculiar dreams. He does tell the story of meeting the Lady of his dreams, but mostly it is to make Whistle laugh.
Regardless, beyond this, there is not much said of his origin herd. Even Whistle does not bring it up or seem to know much of his life before she was his, for she senses the sorrow and the rage in him when he thinks of such things. Now Ballad enjoys the freedom of his smaller family band, and is, on the whole, a rather joyous creature. It has never been in him to be cruel, but he will protect his family with his dying breath.
About: To most, Minstrel is a funny little bird. An odd bundle of contradictions, tiny and unassuming but with the heart of a lion. Courageous, protective, loyal, brave and true, he's a lot of things in a small package. Most of the time Minstrel comes off as very serious and perhaps even a little terse (at first). It just takes a while for others to figure out that he's got a dry sense of humor and a quick wit, and he enjoys mercilessly teasing Ballad whenever he gets the chance.
Like his mate, Minstrel is very musically inclined. Considering the fact that he too is an envoy or emissary of sorts for the Fayth Clan, that which is well known to be populated by powerful Song, few are surprised by this. Like the Clan he lives so closely with, Minstrel is loyal and protective and holds family in high regard. Upon the arrival of Ballad and Whistle's daughter Seriav (their first-surviving child being born in this lad, with the loss of their two baskets), Minstrel took a very strong interest in her safety. He would allow no harm to befall the princess, for tragedy had already stolen Ballad and Whistle's first baskets away.
Thankfully enough, shortly after the arrival of Fayth children, Aria and Minstrel welcomed two eggs of their own. With the young hatched and fledged and on the wing, Minstrel was able to relax. His son Vire, a fiercely protective little bird, was bound to the young Princess and took over watching out for her well-being. Fiercely proud of his son and daughter, Minstrel is once again able to focus on his duties on behalf of the Clan, which will be increasing as they begin to establish their own herd.

About: Born to a small family unit (just her parents and sister) Daliu fell out of contact with them fairly early in her life. Instead of being raised by her blood relatives, she wandered upon leaving her basket and eventually ran across the glade near the herb-woman Tashika's teepee. This, of course, led her to being adopted by the two families that dwelt there (The Silvershadows and the PhantomRose Clan), but she spent most of her time in Whistle's shadow. There is a distinct resemblance that perhaps made the filly stay... But even hurt and with no memory of her family or history, Whistle seemed to enjoy her company and that was all that mattered. Even after Whistle's family found her and the mare was able to regain a sense of self, the filly she had accompanied was welcome as family. While Daliu may not be blood born to the Fayth Clan, she is still loyal to those of the light... She's family.
As such, even as an adult she regularly spends time visiting Whistle and Ballad in their Glen, and has been known to pass an afternoon listening to Kel weave stories of their homeland in the hopes of making her smile. Strangely solitary and perhaps a little lost due to her lack of herd, there are times when sorrow lays thick on Daliu's heart. Still, even the blackest of storm clouds break in the presence of the Fayth Clan, which is perhaps why she has taken to spending even more time with them as of late. Then again, it could be due to her lack of luck in love, which is at this point becoming legendary.
It was only after she had given up on love altogether that she ran across the wild child known as Jinko. For whatever reason, the wild angeni took a shining to her, particularly enjoying playing with her long white mane. As Jinko considers Daliu "hers", she'll often go out of her way to gain Daliu's attention or run off those that might compete for it. Less than ideal in a situation involving foals, but Daliu has the patience and affection to try and dote on Jinko while also giving attention to any that might be trying to talk to her at the same time. Whether she is successful or not depends on the day, but she's not overly troubled by the matter.
Personality: Daliu is a very outspoken, outgoing mare. She sees beauty all around and is more then happy to start up a conversation with a complete stranger. Her outgoing nature is often a boon to her friend and herdmate Masque, who is a little on the shy side. She is a curious, exploratory, enthusiastic mare. There is no hesitation in her when it comes to making friends or even being in a crowd. She tells stories and soaks up knowledge about anything and everything she can. New spirits/types intrigue her. She was somewhat adopted by the Fayth Clan and thrives being surrounded by their music and light.
In the wake of losing someone close to her, Daliu has become a little more solemn than she used to be. She will not speak overly much of the heartache, if only because she fears what Kel might say when he shoulders the role of 'big brother' and goes off to 'talk' to the offending party. Instead she'll put on a brave face, and stand a little closer to Whistle or Ballad, or lean against Kel's side as he spins her a story. They are her family, she knows, and they are pleased to help her up when she falls. As soon as Daliu is sure of which way is up, she may even let them...

Keshani went into the basket as all Soquili foals do, then stepped out ready to take on the world. She had no idea what horrors awaited her, but it didn't stop her then and it won't stop her now. Unbeknownst to the foals, their mother encountered a cursed force and found herself as a Skinwalker, a hunting cat with no knowledge of herself or the family she had left behind. The only thing that remained was a burning hatred for Aveshar and a need to hunt his foals, her own foals, and Keshani was amongst these.
As a result of her mother's madness, Keshani grew up with her father shadowing her steps and teaching her how to fight and defend herself. She is always treated as a lesser creature by pure Kalona, but that hasn't ever held her back. Keshani is fearless, and frequently this means she runs her mouth in ways guaranteed to get her into trouble, and she'll step up to the plate no matter who the opposing force is.
Kalona fierce, there are times when Keshani might be considered 'evil' by those that do not know her. She is bull-headed and fearless, having contended with kalona superiority since foal-hood. When surrounded by those who do not immediately challenge her or otherwise get her back up, Keshani is somewhat cool and distant. In all aspects she is fearless, and when faced with a pure Kalona she stands ready with a bit of a chip on her shoulder because the pure bloods look down on her.
Her noticeable mixed blood never mattered much to her father, who doted on her sometimes even above his other children. She felt closest to him, at least, though her bond with her brother has always been strong. Growing up with her pure-looking sire and brother, she was always aware that her wind wings made her stand out. Of course, being raised as she was, she didn't exactly care. It certainly didn't make her any meeker when encountered with pure Kalona, and her fearless nature got her into trouble more than once. Still, it seems to work for her among her knew herd mates.
In her youth this and her willful wandering led to her crossing paths with the colt Ezra, an unusual combination of glinting red eyes, silent paws, and wings the likes of which Kesha had not seen before or since. In spite of the fact that her wings make Kalona look down on her, Kesha loves feathered wings, and particularly admires Angeni/Hippogryph and the more unique types. The infatuation with 'hybrid' or unique wing styles may even stem from her encounter with the strange colt. Though it has been a lifetime since they crossed paths, she still looks for intriguing wings and as such has meant all types of people.
As a young adult, Keshani once adopted and lost a daughter, and therefore has become somewhat withdrawn and angered by the loss. To this end she travels in search of something to invest herself in once more, though in her wandering she still thinks fondly of her childhood friend, and perhaps that is why she found it so easy to befriend the Practitioner Elijah while wandering. Though she did not know this was the brother of the colt she once knew, she was thus interested enough in the wandering stallion to learn more of the herd he hailed from.
In her travels to visit him, she was wandering in the mountains and leapt into action to protect foals from an avalanche. Miraculously, she was aided by the phoenix mare Kawah Ijen, a strange mare on the run from the small island herd she was once part of. Forgiving where Kesha is sharp, Kawah becomes the Kalona mare's unlikely friend and a sister among the Code of Edda Valkyries. Happily enough, Kesha thus finds herself in a herd that suited her perfectly, with the added bonus of a 'mother figure' in the Valkyrie Rouxe as well as being reunited with both Ezra and Elijah.
Fate is a funny thing, and moves in mysterious ways. Now settled among the Code of Edda, Keshani considers herself bound to both Ezra and Elijah. When she was gifted a strange, ugly hatchling that eventually grew into a beautiful Raven, Kesha adopted him (somewhat unwillingly) and eventually came to look upon him as a son of sorts. The strange bird-child thinks of Ezra as his sire, and is often doted upon by the fierce-looking stallion.
Otherwise, possessive over the two stallions' affections, Keshani Avenara knows that both of them had foals with other mares before they met her or began courting. This is of no concern to her, and she is content to raise children she has had with them or the foals they have had with other mares, for they are all considered children of the Code in her eyes. Still, their affections belong to her alone, and when the white mare Teleri Lindai seems to threaten those affections (even for a moment) Kesha develops a deep and abiding dislike of her. Their feud will last for a long time to come.

About: The Raven sometimes called Moonshadow and usually known as Ugly Baby or UB, was adopted by the mare known as Keshani Avenara as a fledgling. Falling from his nest, he was found by the keen Little Brother, a fox ally of The Code of Edda. Brought to the herd by the fox, this strange (and ugly) little nestling wound up choosing Keshani as his companion though she had no desire for him to do so.

Personality: Kalona fierce, there are times when Keshani might be considered 'evil' by those that do not know her. She is bull-headed and fearless, having contended with kalona superiority since foalhood. Keshani is somewhat cool and distant, fearless and with a bit of a chip on her shoulder because the pure bloods look down on her. Her noticeable mixed blood never mattered much to her father, who doted on her sometimes even above his other children. She felt closest to him, at least, though her bond with her brother has always been strong. Growing up with her pure-looking sire and brother, she was always aware that her wind wings made her stand out. Of course, being raised as she was, she didn't exactly care. It certainly didn't make her any meeker when encountered with Pure Kalona, and her fearless nature got her into trouble more than once. In spite of the fact that her wings make Kalona look down on her, Kesha loves feathered wings, and particularly admires Angeni/Hippogryph and the more unique types. The infatuation with 'hybrid' or unique wing styles stems from an encounter with a strange colt (Ezra) during her foalhood. Though it has been a lifetime since they crossed paths, she still looks for intriguing wings and was thus interested enough in the wandering Practitioner of Edda -Elijah- to learn more of the herd he hailed from. Keshani once adopted and lost a daughter, and therefore has become somewhat withdrawn and angered by the loss. To this end she travels in search of something to invest herself in once more, and upon spying foals in danger from the avalanche could not help but intervene.
How did she join? Adopted: In the course of flying over the land on the way to some entertainment or another, Keshani Avenara noticed an avalanche start in the mountains. Though such a thing would normally be of little interest to her, her attention was caught when it swept through a pass and bore down on a group of foals. For reasons unknown to the Kalona-cross mare, she dove from the sky and threw herself into the group, shoving them out of the way and protecting the from the snow as best she could. When the snow and ice had settled she began busting/digging foals and nearby survivors out, and was startled by the arrival of Kawah Ijen. Working in tandem the two mares managed to rescue and ferry survivors to a nearby cave where the Suti-Griff mare started a fire to warm them. Eventually the survivors had been rescued, but in the wake of destruction Keshani elected to remain and help the herd rebuild. This decision was further influenced by a renewed acquaitence with a foalhood friend, Ezra.
History: Born to the groundwalker mare Kanti Nuttah and the Kalona stallion Aveshar... Keshani went into the basket as all Soquili foals do, then stepped out ready to take on the world. She had no idea what horrors awaited her, but it didn't stop her then and it won't stop her now. Unbeknownst to the foals, their mother encountered a cursed force and found herself as a Skinwalker, a hunting cat with no knowledge of herself or the family she had left behind. The only thing that remained was a burning hatred for Aveshar and a need to hunt his foals, her own foals, and Keshani was amongst these. As a result of her mother's madness, Keshani grew up with her father shadowing her steps and teaching her how to fight and defend herself. She is always treated as a lesser creature by pure Kalona, but that doesn't hold her back. Keshani is fearless, and frequently this means she runs her mouth in ways guaranteed to get her into trouble, and she'll step up to the plate no matter who the opposing force is. In her youth this and her willful wandering led to her crossing paths with the colt Ezra, an unusual combination of glinting red eyes, silent paws, and wings the likes of which Kesha had not seen before or since. She still thinks fondly of her childhood friend, and perhaps that is why she found it so easy to befriend Elijah while wandering. Though she did not know this was the brother of the colt she once knew, later she leapt into action to protect foals from an avalanche and was reunited with both stallions. Happily enough, she also found herself in a herd that suited her perfectly, with the added bonus of a 'mother figure' in the Valkyrie Rouxe.
The Code How dedicated is she to the laws? Keshani has long-searched for a code she could support and trust. She 100% believes in the laws. How does she judge who is and who is not worthy of Valhalla? Keshani is wretchedly difficult to impress, and sugar-sweetness isn't going to do it. If someone is worthy of Valhalla, they'll need to be keen and clever (and probably a bit dangerous, or at least capable of handling themselves) though breed is unlikely to matter. She'd be grudgingly impressed by selfless acts, but they would need a sort of spark to prove they were something special and not a boring goody-four-shoes like some of her more distant relatives. Feats of strength or daring may also serve to draw her attention to worthy candidates. How does she kill? Keshani is no bleeding heart, and if she were to find one she considered worthy of Valhalla, she would strike quickly. She might speak words once the deed was done, but there would be no hesitation for the kill. To hesitate might allow the candidate to escape, and that would mean failure. How does she deal with the backlash? Truth be told, Keshani is the daughter of a Kalona stallion and a Skinwalker mare; she cares very little for the general opinions of others. She grew up being feared by regulars/winds, and looked down upon by pure Kalona. Somewhat adrift from all the types that she represents, she only found acceptance and solace in the company of her brother and sire. As such, others can hate her or fear her as they like. It makes no difference. Is she tainted in any way? As she is hard to impress it is unlikely that Keshani would kill the unworthy. Likewise, as she is somewhat remorseless or cold (which may relax later) as well as confident in herself she rarely -if ever- second guesses herself or questions her own judgement. She is not tainted.
The Herd Where does she live? Cave Dormitory What does she do? In addition to being proud to teach hunting, tracking, stealth and various fighting arts Keshani would be pleased to hunt on behalf of the herd. She's also a very good storyteller and an incredible singer, if one can catch her in the mood. Her night flights with her glowing wings are also quite an entertainment, but it is rare indeed she'll perform in such a way. Beyond these and visiting her family, she might swim or go wading as a relaxation activity, or merely wander to pass the time. How often does she travel and where does she go? So long as there are not daily lessons needed (for foals of the herd) or in general a great deal of work to be done, Keshani will travel regularly. For the most part she will be visiting her sire and her brother on a fairly frequent basis, and may therefore also spend time with/educate her brother's offspring. She will certainly be present during the equinox festivals and spend the majority of her time with the herd. However, her sireline is important to her so she will travel/welcome his visits to keep that social and blood connection strong. She acknowldges Rouxe of the herd as her mother, so spending time with Rouxe will also be important to her. Whether this is done through quiet visits, grooming or social activities will hardly matter. What does she do on her travels? When not seeking out possible females with valkyrie potential or stallions to sire new valkyrie progeny, it is likely Keshani is visiting one of two family members. Her bond with her sire and brother is both still strong and true, and as her brother is expecting foals and it is a family tradition that elder generations advise the children, it is very possible she will be taking time to teach her nieces/nephews when she can. As they do not live far away, it is likely this could be performed something like day trips, where she darts away and promptly returns. As Keshani tends to be combative or play things close to the vest, it is unlikely she will take to widely educating those about the herd. If one does something particularly impressive she is likely to take notice and lessons could occur from there, but as she's likely to lose her temper if someone argues with her or picks a fight she'd keep the details to a minimum. How likely is she to bring friends or temporary lovers to visit and how long do they stay? Keshani holds very few friends, even fewer outside of the herd. Though her sire or brother might visit if the herd approves, she wouldn't be likely to bring home many guests. Then again, the possibility of lovers visiting is not outside of the question; this would depend on the lovers she finds. How closely does she follow the culture? Keshani thrives in solitude and will throw every ounce of will behind a cause she believes in such as the Code. She has no familiar at this time but would likely favor a fox or raven as a companion, thinking them superior. She is happy to travel especially to visit her kin, but will be present in the herd for most major events. Regarding love, a stallion would have to work awfully hard to impress her that much! However, strong babies that will not again be murdered before her eyes are a priority, and a powerful sire means strong offspring... Which would be enough to encourage repeat breedings on top of general fondness. She'd be fine with functioning as a teacher for children but would be very unlikely to adopt due to occurrences in her past. She's also very likely to be a stern and demanding task mistress, because she has learned in a life and death situation and she wants the outcome for her students to be 'life'. She is pleased to teach what she knows to any who wish to listen; however beyond song and story she has no art trade.
Children What kind of breeding partner will she look for? Keshani favors feathered wing styles, but will generally admire cunning, strength, a dangerous sort of charm, and skill. She'll prefer a stallion with some size to him, as well as one with hooves/ claws/ paws/ horns/ teeth/extra eyes that can serve as weapons for her children. A general imposing feature or appearance would not be unwelcome, she thrives on the unusual. She is half Kalona and therefore a meat-eater and hunter, and will probably prefer this continue in her offspring. As she has had a fling by the time she joins the herd, she will be first and foremost seeking a strong breeding partner to ensure strong offspring. If this happens to be the same stallion time after time, so be it. He can be a lifemate or merely a recognized producer of superior offspring that she happens to be fond of. What will she do if she cannot make it back to the herd in time to raise her children there? As previously stated, the only reason for Kesha to leave the herd outside of seeking future valkyrie candidates/breeding prospects would be to visit her kin. In the event she foaled out in the world, she would likely retreat to her sire's territory to do so. If Aveshar had been permitted to visit the herd by this point, it is likely he would be sent (by his strongwilled daughter) to inform the herd of this development and return with a sister, the foals' sire, etc as necessary. How committed is she to raising her children the valkyrian way? Because of her keen loyalty to her Sire and the traditions of the Fayth Clan (of which she is a part, though of the Noire Line) Kesha would prefer any children bearing marks of the Fayth's Favor also be educated regarding Faythren Clan history (in addition to the Valkyrian lessons). As such, she would expect that her sire and brother meet/interact with the foals even if they are being raised by/within the herd. If something were to occur there is also a possibility of her male relations taking responsibility of the children and raising them in the Fayth style, outside of the herd. To start with, daughters may be a somewhat painful subject for Keshani (possibly smothering/overprotective response/reluctant to let them hunt larger game on their own). However, a strongwilled child that she can see herself in would fairly quickly win her over and gain all expected freedoms. Still, to start with this may result in her first batch of foals seeing the colts receive a certain element of freedom that Kesha has to work to allow the fillies. (She will quickly snap out of this, it is merely a fear response.) How does she help raise children? As a keen huntress, Keshani would be pleased to teach hunting, stealth and tracking. She also knows some herbal remedies and battle tactics. She will be happy to be a -teacher- in general, but does not wish to be any sort of adopted parent due to what happened to her last foundling child. However, because of this tragedy she is a demanding task-mistress, she will not have another young hunter die on her watch. How (un)likely is she to adopt? Tragedy befell the filly Keshani once cared to adopt, resulting in her injury and death. As such, Kesha has no interest in adopting someone else's children, but will in fact welcome blood-of-her-blood to guard and guide. History: Delrialto considers himself to be deeply blessed, to be born to parents who love him as much as Ashrialto and Delphina do. He's got a strong bond with his sister, partially because they are quite similar in their interests of exploring, learning new things, and making mischief. As they are the first (and currently only) children of Ash and Del, they did develop a certain exclusive understanding of each other much like twins seem to display.
If his parents are busy on a romantic getaway, Delri is pleased to spend time with his grandsire or even his great grandsire, learning what it means to be a gentleman and a knight, or soaking up stories from their past and explorations. From a young age he had a wandering heart and restless feet, and adding wings to that dominant family trait has only made things worse! There's no telling where you'll find this young stallion on any given day, but he almost always had a smile and story for those willing to listen.
When Delrialto was young he had the misfortune of straying across Keshani Avenara's path, and the mare is not known for her tolerance of foolish foals. For reasons still unknown she spared him, and with Avant's arrival shortly thereafter and his fondness for the colt's bravery, Delri was spared any harm at the hooves of the Kalona. Because of the debt Avant owed Imrikalto and Akaria, the Avant even walked the colt home to safer grounds.
Which is of course why, as he continued to grow, Delri made it a point to stray across Avant's path whenever the opportunity arose. Meeting Masque was more chance (or so he assumed) as he hadn't planned on finding a lady to woo when they accidentally crossed paths. She was just a nice companion and her herd long allied with his own, so they walked and talked and at the time he thought nothing of it. Of course, her skill with song and other such qualities drew Avant's attention to her, and before you knew it... Things were complicated.

History: Kelakohr Damian Mystère Faythren is one of (current total) the Eight Fayth Children. His oldest brother is a Wind (not yet in the lands) and his second oldest brother is a Kalona (a blight on the face of the family, the very heart of evil, etc etc). He arrived in this land as an adult, a teller of tales in pursuit of the elder members of the Fayth Clan. The Unicorn stallion's immediate goal upon arriving in the land was to find his parents (hopefully together) or to aid in reuniting what shards of the family had so far been gathered. At this time he is glad to see his mother and father standing side by side, but is still restless over the fact that his siblings are missing.
He is a bit out of sorts because he's used to minding his siblings, but should recover stability quickly. Kelakohr believes strongly in destiny, that all things happen for a reason. He misses his homeland and the sheer magic of it, but is in this new place because that is what Fate has decreed for him. A goodhearted stallion, he mixes many of his parents qualities in himself. There is a fierce need to protect that he learned from his sire, and a willingness to sacrifice all for love, just like his dam.
Kel settled quickly into this land, growing fond of its inhabitants and making many friends. He has learned to heal, by word and deed and strength of spirit. He encountered a mare the color of sunlight and fell head over hooves. Kel courted Amiera with stories and songs, and they were lifemated. The news of Amiera's pregnancy was a glorious (frightening) announcement to the whole of the Fayth Clan. Kelakohr was already protective of his mate and grew more so, know the danger that lurked in the land itself and in the heart of his brother. The loss of his parent's first baskets also weighed heavily on his mind, and made him quite protective of the foals when they finally stepped from their baskets. Eventually his children grew and Kel relented, allowing them to explore the world with the fierce curiosity he too had once held. However, over time he grew apart from his mate and daughter, and one day the family split in half. Consumed with tending to his parents and preparing to welcome new siblings, he has little time to dwell on the matter.

History: Somewhat timid and more fond of forest than field, this okapi-patterned stallion is called Raikinti. Kinti is from a distant area of the plains, for all that he does not remember exactly where. As far as he knows he had a rather spectacular falling out with some of his herdmates, most specifically the Lead Buck (his father). Feeling somewhat hurt and betrayed by the end, he spirited away to lands unknown. As far as he is concerned, they are lost along with his memories and he will not be searching for or reaching out to them. He'd rather not try and sort through what tangled memories remain of that life, he knows he misses nothing there. Instead, he is content to make a new life in this place. Which is coincidentally enough when he cross paths with a certain Wind Stallion, who accidentally or through sheer stubbornness has become Kinti's best friend and one of his most favorite souls in all the world. Somewhat elusive in nature, and timid out of experience and habit, Raikinti is nevertheless a pleasant companion and true friend. He may come off as a bit flighty, but that's merely due to more than his fair share of encounters such as the terrifying Skinwalker and various Native Kalona. A refugee from a herd he does not willingly speak off, he is glad to be in a place he can call home (for all the terrors it may hold). Unwilling to speak of his family or his past, there is a chance he might run across a relative in this new land. Regardless, the copper-coated stallion is sweet and loyal, always happy to make a friend or learn something new. Raik is all soft and sweet, a big, giving heart in a compact bodied package. As he is half-Cery he does spend quite a bit of time bounding through forest and meadow and consequently one never knows what he will find. As he has begun to come out of his shell he is happy to help others when he can, seeking to point them in the right direction of friends or family, or simply he a warm shoulder and a kindly listening ear. As a result of his mother's madness, Avant and his siblings grew up under their father's protective eye. They were taught to fight, to defend themselves, and mastery over themselves so they can dim the glow of the markings if hiding from her was an option. Though they encountered her a time or two, the foals all made it through their childhood and grew up without any significant mauling by either parent.
Of the three foals, Avant is the one likely to be confused with a pureblooded Kalona, lacking his sister's obviously mixed traits. Though he was the only colt, the only Kalona, and bore the most resemblance to his sire, Avant never felt as though he were the favored child. No, that role fell to his sister Keshani, leaving Avant to forever feel as though he were fighting to prove himself and causing his feelings of rage to grow. In spite of this, of the two of sisters he was assuredly always closer to Keshani.
Torn between competing urges to make his father proud by following in his hoof steps, and the desire to completely diverge from Aveshar's path and prove himself by making his own way, Avant often wandered away from his family to avoid the conflicting impulses. As such, he had the opportunity to cross paths with the descendants of the SilverShadow herd instead, meeting the younger stallion Delrialto. Bound by an honor oath sworn to a particularly crafty Fox Familiar (a she-fox by the name of Akaria, once companion to Imrikalto but guardian of the whole line), Avant was forced to show the younger stallion a softer side, offering no violence. Without cause to directly attack the young stallion, Avant instead wound up conversing with him, and was eventually intrigued enough to deliberately share time with him.
Delrialto became far dearer to him than intended, and it didn't take Avant long to realize he never wanted to be without the other male. Though their courtship began as something of an accidental affection, Avant remained highly possessive of his male companion. When the opportunity arose for him to collect a beautiful mare of the Phantom Line, Avant chose instead to add her to his lists of conquests. The three of them have formed a triad relationship, with Masque and Avant welcoming three foals to their family unit. Delrialto helped to raise the foals, and maintains a particularly deep bond with Sonata, the black-coated kalona-cross mare that favors her sire the strongest in coloring and appearance. Her sister Ars, a mirror of Masque, is also fairly close to the family, with the lone stallion Ultima taking too much after Avant and viewing the family with disinterest.
