okies. heres something for you !

there is a new problem most people arent aware of, the live feeder type of MSN program. For instance, I am 17, blonde, blue eyed, all that jazz, but I can replace my image with that of a 19 year old fresh out of college brunette cheerleader girl with a click.

DO NOT show or reveal what you will regret. EVER. even if you know the face you see so clearly.

The live feed programs use websites like stickcam.com, or any site based of of webcam chatting, and in an odd way 'copy/paste' the live feed.

symptoms of this are:
-suddenly the person walks away, yet they say AFK when they arent at the keyboard anymore. cameras lag, they dont see the future.
-the cam shows them typing something that looks clearly different from the typed message. if the picture stops typing to long before the other user does, it may be fake.
-(obvious one) the appearance of your 'freind' slightly differs time to time.


I beleive that you should be humane on webcam and avoid its use. because heres something most dont know as well.

Webcameras do remember and record things, they just quickly delete files in a webcam chat.

It is not hard for the person you cam with to record EVERYTHING and put it on the internet. how ashamed would you be if your breasts and or whatnot else you flaunt ended up all over the internet? You might be letting what is easily turned into child porn out.

the problem with this is you cant tell when someone does it, it is VERY easy and takes no brains.

the only true defense is to behave 'on air' after all, you never know when the world is watching.

I just want to say I'm so glad to find there is a thread about this on such a big guild (the bigger the group the more people see it)... especially since a lot of kids are here. I'm not and never was into webcam or cybersex. I think the latter is just plain silly. but that's me.

the fact is, someone chatting online could be or say anything they want.. cam or not. one always has to be careful.

I think the whole child predators on myspace things is due to the stupidity of the people who are preyed upon. If they put their address or cell phone numbers up or have pictures of well known places in their cities are stupid. And those myspace whores that are like "I'm horny 24/7 baby! Let's webcam together!" deserve it, well no they don't deserve it, but it's their own fault. I think you should be careful on the internet but if you clamp yourself in a shell trying to hide from everyone, you lose the fun of things.
Here's some advice:
Watch what are in your pictures. Well known places can tell someone where you live as easily as they would find out from talking to you.

And btw, it's really smart of you to bring you parents to that meeting with that person you met online. Go you for using your brain!

Spot the Signs!

Can you spot the signs?
If there picture is covreing up the lower half of there face, even just alittle. (its like that to cover unwanted face hair that would make them look older then they say they are)
If there wed cam is burred and you can't see them in detail.
If they ever change the facts about themselfs.
If they say they are fine with dateing some 3 years or yonger then they say they are.
If the have ove 75% of there friend list filled with girls.
If they say they may come see you.

I agree completely with some of those things. BUT Some ppl really are ok with dating somebody say 3yrs younger than themselves (like myself). I think there are better ways to find out about somebody, as somebody suggested you could do a people-search (I tend to do those) A couple of your points are a bit vague. Also I would like to put it the open that I am 16. look me up if you need to or whatever but if you want my name I need yours.

Me before I met my girlfriend I was at that 3yrs was a little much. Now I'm at while it is okay to date some one 3rs younger.
I'd encourage evryone to First look at the people around your age. and if you meet some one younger than you and you get along well and they're fine then great.
Me I'm 18 and my gf is 15. When we first it was during a school play that we were in. While I knew she was younger I didn't think that much. But we've been together going on 2yrs and she's the one that introduced me to Gaia, and we havn't had sex.

anyhoo...this topic is way sensitive for me. i'm so against online relationships due to an overdose of horror stories and, frankly, ill-suited for my taste. but i don't want to pass judgment on those who've tried. but, although, everyone is actually somewhat vulnerable, the deeper issue are the younger ones for they're extremely impressional or sensitively subjected to impression. people just need to be taught how to secure their identity and not be foolish. as for me, being supremely conscious of cyber pervs, i had a struggle having fun at gaia.
