__ Super mega ultra success!! The guards were all but obliterated by her team's awesome effort. Zhi joined their sensei at the entrance to the cave shortly after the baddies were dealt with, dispelling her clone at the same time. She listened to Bastet's then watched her idol go ahead by herself into the cave. Strangely, the door she came back mentioning was concealed from her. Wait... what? She hadn't sensed the door and couldn't see what was inside? NOPE! This was why she didn't like Christmas or her birthdays. Too much guesswork about what was on the other side of the wrapping paper. She didn't have time for that. Several hand seals were executed in a blur to even further amplify her sensory abilities. Whatever barrier was barring her from sensing what was within would be "seen through" with her Piercing the Veil technique- unless it was a really really really strong anti-sensory barrier. If so... well then doody.
Zhi followed Bastet back inside, being mindful of any other scorpions lingering about. She'd skip and tiptoe around them until she got to that mystical door. "Hmmmmnn... what's in there, I wonder?" Zhi hummed aloud while staring at the door. The majority of her attention was on the room's contents. As much as she wanted to just go flying in and bust it open like one of her presents... well... she at least remembered how the previous training exercise went. She didn't have a backup plan prepared yet. No need for excessive risks.

__ Once the goons were knocked out Tetsuhiko was a bit amused by their incredible incompetence and flashed a wry smile. They were stunned, knocked out, and bound by iron sand before him as he stepped over them. "Yeah, we know they're not sensors because they have no sense...OF STYLE!" Tetsu then let out a giant and theatrical laugh that was hoity toity in its intonation while his face contorted into the comedy mask of theatre as opposed to the tragedy mask. His face then went back to normal as he listened to Bastet-sensei and traversed the cave. There was a barrier in the way and he looked at Zhi to hear her update on what it was. "Surely she knows." His reassuring thought was then interrupted by the fact that she did not know. Tetsuhiko was a bit dumbfounded for a moment.
Following Bastet's orders, he struck a combative pose as all of his iron sand swirled around him in a cyclone. Suddenly, he jangled his wrists as an armored warrior appeared before him in a small cloud of smoke. The iron knight then struck a defensive pose as he raised his shield in front of himself and readied his blade behind it. Ten chakra threads were attached to his back from Tetsuhiko. From where he was standing he looked to be protecting Tetsuhiko,Zhi, and Hikaru all at once. "Did anyone hear my hilarious quip earlier?" Tetsuhiko inquired about his previous joke, this performer expected applause!
__Hikaru was stunned at how easily Bastet dealt with the situation. No wonder why she was once the village's Kazekage. As anticipated Zhi went in first to follow Bastet, albeit more cautiously than she has previously. Tetsuhiko went next, who was clearly trying to stir a reaction with his bizarre face and pun. "Heh." Hikaru chuckled lightly in solidarity with the puppeteer. Tetsuhiko was fortunate in the fact that he was aesthetically pleasing to Hikaru. Otherwise he wouldn't have even entertained the joke. With the other two going in, he felt obligated to join them. Everything in his body told him not to, however. 'There's something wrong. I don't like it.' He thought as he extended his right hand. Paper peeled from his body and touched his fingers as the paper attached itself to the rims of the door. Eight explosive tags in total were placed around the frame. It ensured that the group could escape while no one followed. With his trap set Hikaru followed the group.

Zhi's Sensory Analysis:
As Zhi's Jutsu activated, the nothingness beyond the door opened into a small series of rooms. There was a large main room just beyond the door that contained three Chakra signatures. The first was a large one that looked vaguely like a scorpion, but several meters tall and with three tails. It sat a few meters away from the door and was perched over a humanoid form with a rapidly fading Chakra signature. In two other rooms branching off of the main room were a small handful of people, all clustered together in their respective areas.
Bast remained mostly quiet, but broke her meditation and stood up when Tetsuhiko asked if anyone had heard his joke.
"Think you hit the nail on the head with that one," she commented. "Their tailor wasn't one either."
A seal glowed on the door before fading out. There was a rush of cool air as Bast pulled the door open with one hand, keeping the other at the ready. The other side was a well-lit stone cellar with a short wooden ramp leading down into it. It looked like it had been a laboratory or breeding area until recently, but now there were papers and furniture strewn all over the room and glass containers had shattered on the floor and were sitting in pools of unknown materials. There were a couple of doors leading away from the room, but there were more pressing issues to deal with: scorpions, and lots of them. Every corner was just a giant cluster of them, and most notably there was an absolutely enormous one in the middle of the room. It had three tails and looked heavy enough that its exoskeleton would block even axes. Luckily, it was facing away from the door, apparently occupied with something.
Bast looked over the situation and held up one finger toward her students. She held her hand in the air for but a moment, then pointed at the beast's stingers. To make her meaning clear, she also dragged one thumb across her throat in the classic signal for "decapitation".

__'I can see!' A rush of enlightenment flowed through Zhi as she peered throughout the little underground fortress laid out before her. Although, if only briefly, her focus was broken by Tetsuhiko's quip. "Fufu... no sense? ... of style!? Fuwahahah!" She looked over at the young metal manipulator and just kept giggling, trying so hard to suppress her voice as they moved into the cave after their sensei. "Heh heh... t-that was a good one, T-T-fizzle!" He even managed to get Bastet to chip into the joke, "Kukuuh... mad p-props! Bahahah!" She patted Tetsuhiko on the back then attempted to refocus on the task at hand. Zhi whispered to the group before the door's seal finished being dispelled, "Lots of rooms and corridors ahead. Big scorpion thingy with.. three tails? Looks like it's eatin' somebody though. A couple handfuls of other people in some other rooms. Oh, and lots of lil' scorpions too, duh!" It would just be so much easier if they could sense what she could. Explaining everything all the time was such a waste of time and energy! Even still, there was only so much she could infer about the structure's layout on her own. Whatever was going on was beyond her right now. A closer look was most necessary!
Zhi followed Bastet in beyond the door first, keeping close behind so she could look around with her own eyes. Something crazy happened here from the looks of it, recently for that matter. Bastet brought everyone's attention to the giant three-tailed scorpion Zhi warned everyone about before coming in. The gestures made made Zhi's mind race in consideration for options. They needed to get rid of the tails' stingers first somehow. There was only one technique she could think of that might be able to cut through that thing's exoskeleton. A single ram hand seal was formed and a potent breeze rushed ahead of the group. 'Kaze no Yaiba!' The controlled air sharpened as it whirled around the monstrous scorpion, focusing its barrage of wind blades upon every visible joint and weak point that Zhi could find- which was pretty much all of them! She hoped that enough damage could be inflicted for Hikaru or Tetsu to quickly and quietly finish this thing before it became troublesome. At the very least, they needed to be able to handle this much without Bastet having to do much more than supervise.

__ Tetsuhiko felt elivated when Bastet and Zhi responded to his joke. He smiled brightly as he applauded himself by clapping his hands together above his head. "I am just so clever!" He followed Bast-sensei through the cave with iron sand swirling around him and Hermes walking ahead of him. When they found the triple tailed scorpion Tetsuhiko looked at it in disgust. Zhi responded by surrounding it with wind that attack it from numerous angles. Tetsuhiko swung his hands as Hermes lept forward and sprung into action. The knight used his blade to lunge forward and pierce the brain of the scorpion quickly and effectively in collaboration with Zhi's wind attack. The blade was coated with a C-Rank amount of chakra from the kugutsu strings.
__Hikaru disliked traversing such a narrow area. For one, it was just creepy. This place could use some serious renovating. Maybe some more lights put in. That might do well to counteract the overarching feel of death the place radiates. His second reason for disliking it is that explosives are infinitely more dangerous in close quarters. As the team medic it would be ironic if he was the reason everyone ended up in the hospital. He needed to be careful with his abilities in such close quarters. As he followed into the basement, his eyes widened as he saw the three tailed scorpion. Yuck.
Hikaru's eyes followed Bastet. Take out the tail, got it. Zhi seemed ahead of the game, as per usual. Tetsuhiko seemed to want to finish it off quickly. Since explosives were not the play down here, he decided to go for a more tame approach. Hikaru lowered himself to the ground as his hand was pressed against the floor. Paper slipped from his grasp as the sheets slid silently along to the scorpion, forming a wide line between the team and the scorpion. From there Hikaru applied his medical chakra into the paper to make it able to paralyze muscles. With this line of paper being established, if the scorpion somehow lived the strike or dodged it, then the it couldn't get closer to the team without stepping on the sheets. Once it did, all of its muscles would tighten until it was unable to move. This would undoubtedly allow the others to finish it off.

Someone being eaten by the scorpion? Bast was slightly intrigued by Zhi's statement, but there was much to do. She watched as the wind and the puppet's blade did little more than leave gouges in the surface of the scorpion's exoskeleton. She'd have to leave a hole in its armor for them to attack, it would seem.
The scorpion spun around in alarm and snapped a claw at the group. Bast quickly caught it using brute force, then clenched her fist and planted it right in the middle of the claw's side. The beast's claw shattered like so much glass, causing it to thrash about wildly. Just as it loosed a stinger for Bast it stepped on some of Hikaru's notes and seized up. Its movement already weren't particularly fast, but this opening allowed Bast to pin down the barb when it came within arm's reach, grabbing and holding the stinger without letting the business end actually hurt her.
The scorpion was tough and strong, but not particularly fast, and Hikaru had made it even less so. Judging by how hard it felt when she'd hit it, Bast was fairly certain the kids could get through the shell with some elbow grease.
"Give it all you've got!" she told her students. "The shell will take a beating before giving in, so focus your attacks. Tails, preferably, but the main body if you know you can punch through. Keep an eye on its claw and the other two tails."
Zhi would sense the Chakra of the person being eaten fading to critical levels. If they didn't get help soon, they were definitely a goner.

__ Okay, well that didn't do quite as much damage as Zhi might've liked. She hoped that her wind blades would've done a bit more damage since the technique was actually meant to bypass the resistance that a normal blade would meet in a clash. Especially so since she was focusing the attack specifically on the tails. On the bright side: she got to witness Bastet beat up the baddie arachnid pretty well in a couple instants. Their sensei reiterated her previous advice with a bit more detail this time. "OK! I'm gonna try again!" Zhi felt this to be a cue for her to form snake hand seal; a hefty electrical charge coursed around her hands and halfway up her forearms. "Ayatsuri Raikou!" Zhi pulled her hands apart, molding all of the gathered raiton chakra into greatly refined electrical threads of chakra attached to each of her fingertips. Each of these ten threads were capable of easily burning through solid wood, so she figured that if she concentrated all of them onto one point on each tail at a time they'd probably get somewhere. Much like Tetsuhiko's puppetry, Zhi extended her hands out in front of herself, controlling her jutsu through her will. The lightning threads lashed out to coil around the base of the tail that Bastet was holding the stinger for. All ten threads not only wrapped around the lowest joint of that tail but they also began to extend and retract to mimic a sawing motion of sorts. This was probably the strongest offensive technique in her arsenal and like this all of its power was perfectly focused. Even if they ended up not being able to harm it, each of the threads had a strong paralytic shocking potential.
As much as she wanted to go help that fellow, she wasn't sure if she should just go running in until the threat was at least diminished a little. However, at the same time, she felt like she wouldn't have much of a choice unless someone else could manage to rescue them. Paperboy?! He was a medical ninja! "Hikaru! Can you get that guy over there while we keep it distracted? He doesn't look like he's going to last very much longer like that." Zhi hoped that he wouldn't have to say no. She wouldn't hold it against him, but wasn't fond of the idea of letting someone die without being able to do anything about it. Maybe they were just an unfortunate victim here?

__ Tetsuhiko felt a rush of adrenaline go through him as he watched the scorpion retaliate to the attacks, Bast responds, and then Zhi responds. It was clear that Bast could have destroyed the beast within a few moments if she wanted to, but she was clearly testing them. He heeded her advice as he had many times before this. It appeared that the attack Hermes attempted on the main body was not strong enough so he tried a counterattack on one of the stingers. With a B-Rank amount of chakra put into the blade, Hermes swung his sword and sliced at one of the stingers that Zhi was not focusing on. The chakra pulsated through the sword with a greater amount of power than before.
When Zhi was asking for Hikaru to help the victim it was clear that Hikaru would have trouble operating on them in the middle of battle. "We have to save them! Penthesilia!" Suddenly, Penthesilia was summoned between the victim and the scorpion as a protective shield of sorts. He carefully took the individual in her arms and Tetsuhiko quickly used magnetism to quickly but carefully move them to safety next to Hikaru where they could be operated on in an efficient medical evacuation. "See what you can do!"Tetsuhiko spoke with urgency towards Hikaru, he wanted to ensure that this person could be saved if possible.
__That guy was alive? Hikaru assumed the person dead when he first saw him. Of course he lacked Zhi's sensory powers, so from this distance he had no way of determining a live person from a dead one. Darn. With how mutilated the body was, he was going to have to get in there. That scorpion was still dangerous, however. Tetsuhiko gave him some protection with the steel puppet in the way of the scorpion. It wouldn't be enough, however, if the beast went full force.
"Leave him to me." He said solemnly. He really wish it didn't have to come to this. He was hoping to keep a low profile and not have to show the full extent of his powers. Unfortunately, this was a time to move. Hikaru took a deep breath as paper peeled off from his back. The paper piled on top of itself until it formed a pair of wings. Hikaru then flapped the wings as they, along with himself, completely dissolved into paper. The swarm of loose leafs flooded the basement and swarmed around the scorpion. Six large spears formed from the various papers all around the base of the stingers. The spears then went to impale the base of the scorpion's tail.
All the while, Hikaru reformed right beside the person. Medical chakra was channeled into his hands as he placed it over the torso of the wounded man, where the consuming began. He used his healing ninjutsu in his left hand while his right hand went over the body to determine any ailments aside from the obvious. His temperature was high, and he was in shock. The man, who in actually was probably more like a late teenager, also seemed to be suffering from some paralytic poison. It probably came from the stinger. All in all the only life threatening thing he could detect was the loss of blood from the open wound, which had to be closed before he could do anything further.
Ideally Hikaru liked to be as far away from the combat as possible. However, he was in a bit of a pickle with this case. If the scorpion came back in anyway, then this man would die. He didn't like it, and he hoped Penthesilea could do her job, but in case she couldn't then Hikaru would have to use his body to shield the wounded person to the best of his abilities. Until he had some time to heal, this man was in no condition to be moved. Hikaru's eyes narrowed on the injury as he did all he could to ignore the rest of the world and save him.
The scorpion's hard shell sizzled, cracked, then exploded after a moment of contact with Zhi's whips, while Tetsu's Hermes puppet sliced through the base of another stinger like it was ripe fruit on a tree. The scorpion thrashed jerkily at the pain of being so grievously wounded and swung its only remaining claw directly at Zhi before lashing out at Hermes with its remaining tail.
The stinger now loosed and a claw incoming, Bast swung the blunt end of the former at the latter to bat it away. A significant portion of the tail snapped off as a result, leaving her with just a stinger. The tail moving toward Hermes was still a problem, at least until it wasn't; the multiple paralytic effects were wreaking havoc on the creature's fine aiming skills, so evading it would be fairly easy. With little to do there, she threw the stinger like a javelin into the scorpion's claw, which didn't seem to do much other than agitate it. Interestingly, she noted, the barb broke through its shell fairly easily; she'd have to take a look at that later.
"Tetsu, cut off the remaining stinger," she told the puppeteer while moving into a defensive stance in front of Hikaru. "Hikaru, keep working, I'll cover you. Zhi, can you crack open its body with your lightning?"
Hikaru's Medical Analysis:
The unconscious man is suffering from several broken bones around a single large puncture wound, likely from being stung. He seems to be conscious, but is unable to move. His flesh around and in the wound is rapidly desiccating.
Zhi's Sensory Analysis:
Clusters of scorpions are getting agitated and starting to skitter off toward some of the side rooms. People in those rooms are quick to notice and either stuff things in the cracks at the bottoms of the doors or barricade them with furniture.

__ Zhi was rather surprised at how much more effective her raiton was compared to her fuuton. Was it just weaker against lightning for some reason? Both elements were pretty similar despite wind supposedly being stronger than lightning. 'Weird.' She thought for a moment as she controlled the powerful electrical threads to retreat slightly into a more flexible positioning for attack or defense. Thankfully, it looked like things could be handled easily enough with how Team Bastet was operating thus far. Still, Zhi couldn't help but notice that the other people hiding around the area were seeming to notice that there were intruders. They were behaving a lot more suspiciously all of the sudden while the littler scorpions became agitated with this ongoing bout.
Bastet's request was met with an eagerly confident nod. Zhi flexed her fingers slightly and willed the threads to lash out at the thrashing scorpion once again. She'd have all of them fly in from above where Tetsuhiko tried to attack it before. Even if not much damage was visible, it was more than anywhere that she could target for the main part of the body. Like a mechanical tattooing tool, the ten super-heated, super sharp lighting threads drilled into that one spot like miniature jackhammers. Zhi executed this attack as fast as she, who still considered herself to be the fastest of the fast, could manage. Eventually something would have to give. While she did this she'd alert her team, "Looks like we've been noticed guys. We should hurry to make sure none of the baddies 'round her try to escape somehow." All the little hiding places they were revealing to her would be memorized to the best of her ability. They could sort through things once they secured this strange little secret base.
Once she was past that impossibly tough exterior she'd have free reign to have the threads mar the more critical areas of the scorpion's inner body. Once this threat was finished she'd retract her threads to appear as nothing more than little sparks at her fingertips. She could maintain this technique for awhile longer if she really tried. Although, Zhi was starting to feel a little worn out after all of these training exercises and back to back missions.

He then applied another B-Rank amount of chakra to the knight puppet's sword and swung it at the final stinger in an efficient left swipe. This was all in response to Bastet's command. If this final attack were successful then the scorpion would lose at the very least all of its weapons. Tetsuhiko momentarily glanced over and saw that the injured man was being operated on while Bast defended. Penthesilia continued her defensive pose next to Bastet and would remain there unless she needed to be used for another attack.
Sonyo marched through the forest, hands gripped tightly at both of her sides, aggravated tears welling in her eyes. Everything was overwhelming at the moment to her; Theodin returning, the shukaku, the mess with Kyomei and Taylor. She was afraid to show her face to them, afraid to see that shattered look in their eyes now that their perfect image of her had been tainted by the truth she had spoken. Once again, it felt like a thick sheet of ice separated her from the world; a sheet of ice she could clearly see through despite it being several feet thick. She wanted to scream, she wanted to hit something, she wanted someone to understand. But everyone in the village that she could turn too seemed way too calm about the situation; no one understood, no one-- not even Nari it seemed. Sonyo somehow found her way through the forest to the small shrine she had made back when things were more simple, more hopeful. It was supposed to be a beacon of hope, her personal mark in suna, but it seemed to be just mocking her now.

Shukaku's whisper was barely audible, but she still caught it. How dare he say that, she didn't do anything, why did it sound like he was blaming her. Sonyo gripped her hands tighter, nails biting in to the soft flesh in her palms. And then it happened, the explosion that had been building for months and months; the death of her parents, her inability to help anyone, the withdrawn feeling she had been getting, losing Theo, the whole thing with the shukaku, Taylor and Kyomei's outbursts. "This is bullshit!" the young woman screamed, kicking over the shrine she had created, splitting and splintering wood before beginning to punch the low-lying tree in till her hands bled. When she finally couldn't take the pain anymore, when splinters from the bark had dug deep in to her knuckles and her blood stained the trunk of the tree, the woman collapsed against the green giant... almost as if she was hugging it. Sonyo sobbed in to the tree, gripping at the bark even though her hands bled in protest. She had been so strong for so long, but now it was cracking. The life she had built away from all the bad things that had happened seemed to be crumbling and she was terrified, and she felt so alone.
Her broken sobbing was carried in to silence, echoing off leaves, scaring away birds which flew away with an angry flapping of wings. Eventually the sobs stopped as the tears ran out, and Sonyo just sat there for some time, hugging her tree, her safe spot. A light caught the corner of her eyes, and when she looked over, a small cloud of iridescent spores were floating all around her. The female's eyes got wide, and panic shot through her for a second, but after a moment of just watching the spores she somehow felt they meant her no harm. What were they, why were they here? Were they carried here by her crying? She looked up at the tree she was hugging, almost as if asking it if it had brought the pollen here, but then she turned around to face the floating specs of light. She sat down against the trunk, her back resting comfortably against it's strength.
