Leigh Ann waited for the exchange to be over before asking, "What is it that makes us so special?" She paused to wait for an answer before realizing that she was being very vague. "I mean, like, I know we must all have been chosen for this role for a reason, but, why? What is it that made whatever force that decides this thing decide that I would be more qualified for this than any other Earth Mage?"

SKBCTayuyaFluteofDeath Avani raised an eyebrow quizzically. "How would you reinvent that? I don't think I quite understand what you're getting at." Kota smiled. "Something I call air walk." He said as he stood up and jumped again and then he kicked the air and sent himself in another direction before falling down.

“The trees that whisper in the evening... Carried away by a moonlight shadow...”"What makes you more qualified to be the Earth Guardian is that you control both plants and rock.", the Huntress says, knowing that probably wasn't what Leigh had meant. “Sing a song of sorrow and grieving... Rand nodded at the answer he received; he could well understand that cultural barriers would make the Huntress's task all the more difficult and he could hardly be viewed as contributing in a positive manner. With a sigh he sat back and continued eating his fourth helping, the vague almost nauseous rumble of his stomach now dying to a dull ache that was soon fading away rapidly with the last few bites of his full plate. With a generous serving of vegetables and meat he wolfed down the final morsels of his cravings, his right hand reaching for a decanter of watered down wine to wash down his helping. He listened in closely to Leigh's question on why they had been chosen, and he had no idea how to respond to it. Why were we chosen for this life, I wonder?

"But... my element seems to be the only one with that distinction." Leigh Ann says before humming uncomfortably and adding, "I guess I understand if it's not something you can answer. I was just curious. I don't feel quite... adequate enough for this position."

"Nor do I," Shechina piped up. "How am I supposed to be a peacemaker between kingdoms if I can't even keep the peace between my cousin and me?"

Once again Rand sympathized with his fellow Guardians' statements, though he did not comment on the subject nor did he feel the need to do so. He raised his right hand and concentrated on a point above his palm, slowly lighting a small levitating wisp of flame between his fingers waiting for the Huntress' answers. Truthfully he did not feel the same sense of inadequacy for his current position, but he did wonder why he had been gifted with so much latent power he had yet to drawn upon without the silver-haired maiden's guidance. Perhaps we are all drawn together in ways we cannot comprehend yet. Either that, or we all have something in common with our predecessors. Some quirk of birth, or nature, or location...Agh. Why am I even thinking this over so hard? It's not as much a problem for me...But helping out to very very pretty girls sounds right up my alley.

((Time skip?)) “The trees that whisper in the evening... Carried away by a moonlight shadow...”"I have no answer as to how or why you were picked, all I know is that I can sense a difference between you and normal mages.", the Huntress responds. "Perhaps in time you will discover what makes you truly different beside the enhanced magical abilities." Her eyes drift to the window where she could see the moon rising into the sky. "Peacekeeping is never easy. Not even a Spirit Guardian was capable of preventing the last war... Though perhaps now it would be best to rest and continue this in the morning." “Sing a song of sorrow and grieving... Carried away by a moonlight shadow...” -'Moonlight Sadow', Mike Oldfield

((Sounds good.))
Rand yawned softly to himself before he rose from his single cot, still unused to the emptiness of his room now that all of the other Guardians had departed following their meal. The sun was slowly rising further ahead, a motion he could detect with a surge of power beneath his skin. Smiling to himself, the Fire Guardian chuckled at the memory of Leigh's blushing, an amusement that only deepened with the challenge Shechina presented him. He was looking forward to seeing them all later in the day, particularly as he had offered to pay for separate rooms for each of his companions. At the very least he remembered the Huntress had declined the offer, though he couldn't recall right away whether anyone else had as well.

((Same here.))
Shechina took off her boots and wiped the dirt off the soles before walking into her house. She'd left the inn feeling rather confused and more worried than ever about her cousin. Seeing a light in the kitchen, she peeked in to see her mother washing the dishes from that evening's supper. "Mama, has Avani returned yet?" The older Spirit mage turned and shook her head. "Sorry, darling. I haven't seen her since the two of you left this morning." Shechina frowned. "Where could she have gone to? I hope she's safe."

Stepping outside of his room Rand quickly walked downstairs to grab a quick bowl of fruit for breakfast, his stomach rumbling for anything to keep him fueled for the next few hours. Dipping into his pocket the Fire Mage frowned at the still bothersome amount of gold he had, knowing that such wealth not only discomforted him but could act as a catalyst for much less wanted attention. Then again, he wasn't one to avoid any possibility of conflict; if something or someone came to face him, he would retaliate head-on to the best of his ability. Wolfing down the hearty blend of strawberries, grapes, blueberries, peaches, and pears he soon left the inn, wondering around the closest alleys in search of...something. A way to alleviate his boredom until he regrouped with the others at least.

Leigh Ann got up and did a few morning stretches before going down to get some breakfast, leaving her cloak behind, as she didn't really need to shield her eyes indoors. Without it her long brown hair was loose and it's length just seemed to make her look smaller somehow.
She smiled when she saw Rand and quickly got something sweet to eat for breakfast before going over to him and saying, "Thank you for the room. I have not slept so comfortably since I left home."

Rand turned back at the sound Leigh's voice behind him, stepping back into the common area of the inn to let her grab some food as well. "You're very welcome Leigh. Want to grab some food to eat? Seems like you and I were the first ones up so I thought you might be hungry too." He already turned and motioned towards the bar close to them, the serving girl bowing slightly before waiting for the order to take back into the kitchen.

"I've already gotten something." Leigh Ann said, showing Rand her already half eaten sweet roll. "Why are you up so early?"
