Another blob of goop plopped against West's hand. This time he hissed and tossed his feather on the table. ******** potions. ******** feathers. ******** cauldrons and fire. >:[

False paused from his laughter wiping a tear from his eye lazily. "Oh now don't go saying stuff like that Hel, I'd be broke in a week just admiring such beauty." He paused a bit too long and sighed as his potion started to harden. He gave it a few more shakes and added more heat softening it up to keep stirring it.

The ghoul gave the reaper her full attention, now that her potion was finished, and cracked a grin.

Oooooooh, you are so smooth~” She purred, oh so terribly amused and a bit flattered. Nice things were nice, even if she was pretty certain he’d say that to any good looking ghoul. “How many have you slain with that one, huh?”

West crossed his arms and stared straight ahead, ignoring his potion long enough for it to go all rocky again.

Reluctantly, West slowly looked back down at his potion and sighed. He'd gotten this far. It was time to finish this thing. Picking up the last of the clumsy boil's feathers, he began to stir again. A tiny splatter escaped the cauldron as the mixture loosened up, but it landed nowhere near him. Good.

A short time later when his potion seemed potion-like again, he stopped stirring and sat back. It had looked better before, but there was nothing to be done about that now.

False tsked as he continued to work. "Only you Hel, mostly because you're the only one making a threat to charge me sweet." He checked his potion it was finally at the right point. Reaching over he turned his burner on placing the potion on a low simmer now that it was stirred. Getting up he wandered over to lean on Hel's desk.

"So then, if looking costs, how much does it cost to get you to come out on a walk with me again? Maybe get you some more 'reading' material and we can go for a swim after?"

His eyes stared the mess that is Matteo's potion. With a small smile he turned to help the boil fix it up. In a matter of moments the potion was no longer bubbling and spewing acid that was strong enough to melt steel. Instead it was at the temperature it should be..

"It is better now. Yes? No more bubbling weird things. "

However because he was helping out Matteo with his potion, Zephyros' own potion suffered.

"This.. is wrong.."

Slender brows furrowed downward as he tried to figure out what exactly happened...

“Only me, huh? I am flattered.” Oh so amused. Hel watched as False moved over to her desk and leaned, and a dark brow rose before she made an amused sound. She then made a good show of deliberating this answer, as if she really had to think hard about it. After all, she was such a busy ghoul…

Not really…

“It costs a meal, and I can eat, boil! I am a growing ghoul after all.”

False chuckled at Hel, "Are you? I might just be a bit flattered you are." he took a seat proper on her desk inspecting her potion as she seemed to ponder the deal. Finally when she spoke he only smiled. "Just a meal? I could go for a bite myself so..." He reached into his robe pulling out a sheet of paper from a journal tucked inside. Grabbing a pen (as he lacked Sharpie who he hadn't resummoned yet) and jotted down a number.

"So how about you call me when you want that meal and we'll call it a date of sorts hm?"

How was she meant to go on with the horribly heated mess she had created? Maple gave a fleeting look at the ingredients, made a small pathetic little noise and then began to stir.

And made a mess. At least the noise that accompanied it would drown out her sounds of despair.

  • Kirinni Bones. Small and dainty, these are perfectly preserved and relatively rare. Treat with caution, as they break easily.
  • Preserved Brown Leaves. Easily crushed and they smell of Halloween.
  • Clay from a (Halloween) Golem. Not the hunter kind of golem. Smells of dirt and crumbles easily.

main : Clay from a Golem

And then somehow, she managed to get it to work perfectly. Maple decided not to question it.

Her head found the desk again, thinking only of how disappointed her mother would be. Dreadful.

“Just a meal?” She echoed at False’s echo. “What? Did you want me to tack on more?” Hel snickered. “You just wait until you get the bill, alright~?” Hel rested one hand on her hip, and watched as he pulled out a pen and paper. “Sounds fair!” The reaper replied. “It is a not-date, then!”

The wingless valkyrie held her hand out for the paper, which was nice, because she could have just swiped it from him.

Ah, they were almost finished! Beaming, Astra picked up a spoon and, standing on her chair once more she began to stir her bubbling cauldron. Though it was a little awkward to stir it, she soon got the just of it, humming a little tone as she set a easy pace. Not to fast, and not to slow.

Her skills weren't that amazing, but she was able to get the job done.

Monty had leaned back in his chair and watched as the others in the room most of which seemed to be having just as hard as time as he did. He was about to doze off when Professor Z. gave a loud whistle causing him once again to drop his feet to the floor with a thump and almost knock his cauldron mixture off the burner, which still was way below the temp. that it was supposed to be at.
He looked at his mixture in his cauldron, already a little congealed and gross from not being the right temp. " Whatever guess it can't get any worse then it already is." He muttered to to himself more then to anyone around that might hear. He picked up the long handled spoon and stuck it down into the cauldron giving his mess of a potion a few quick twirls around the cauldron then slowly going back the other direction. After a few minutes he noticed it wasn't getting worse, in fact it had got a little bit better. The color wasn't as dark, and it was no longer a thick messbut the temp. was still way below the 100 mark. " I still don't want to drink any of it," he muttered to himself.

main ingredient=Dried Chameleon Tail. It's dusty and shriveled and smells a little like dried meat...
2nd=Dragon Scales. A glimmering, iridescent mother-of-pearl color. Quite rare, but they're warm to the touch and smell fresh.
3rd=Hound's Tooth. A sharp canine that might cut you if you're not careful. Also there are cracks in several of them.

This class was harsher than he thought, especially the part of temperature control. It's so unpredictable and fluctuating. Luckily, he finally got through it. First, it's to test their basic knowledge over the ingredients. If they were familiar with them, they would know which and which had the best affiliation and would give the best result. Then, it's temperature. Too low, it won't react with each other; too high, it might over-done. It required patience and attention. Lastly, it's the speed. As told by Professor Z, too slow or too fast was no good to the potion.

After gaining the experiences from controlling temperature, the boil was able to grab hold of the skill. Observe and adjust, don't rush, bit by bit. By observation, it's not only his performance, but learnt from others. He would realize why stirring too fast was bad, when one of the students got their spat out. The amount given to them was just adequate, sloshing would totally be a waste, particularly after so much efforts. On the other hand, he also saw some were having difficulties to move the stirrer, the potion was cooled too fast and became gross, oh poor, spent so much time for nothing........

To avoid getting same result as them, AJ kept a close eye on his potion. Stirring at a constant speed, he checked the condition of the mixture from time to time while monitoring the temperature drop. At first, he moved the rod slower, and then at later stage where the mixture cooled quicker, he stirred at a higher speed.

He checked with the viscosity of the liquor, um, seemed it's done.

He took the rod out the pot and sat down, waiting for the next instruction from the lecturer. Practical lesson is always the best.
