The difference between the good guys and the bad guys
Having been awake for some time now, Joe, ever the elitist on many things was working on paperwork and maps on the desk in his room. Maps of all manner lay across his desk detailing each of the places the Galatea had been during it's travels with him on board. The maps unlike many that were made showed every intimate detail of the terrains, they were by the fact made by him so as such with his ability they would easily be made correctly. "These moutains" he muttered to himself as his pin etched it's way across the paper infront of him. He was rather lost in thought going over the course of events in the past days and what would likely be the events in the coming.
A knock on his door brought him from the depth of thought as the voice of a crewman asked for permission to enter. "Enter Evan" Joe called as the man walked in. He was a thin one his body meant more for being able to scale the masts and quickly maneuver about the ship. "Sir, you told me to notify you when the girl had been moving about the ship without the captain" he said his hand gripping the door frame of Joe's room. Well she has been looking around the ship a bit this morning and the captain's no where to be found in the a.m." he informed Joe who simply nodded and sent him back out. "Thank you for the update Evan. Keep an eye on her. While the captain seems to think she poses no threat. Anyone not of the crew that is on this ship can pose a threat to it" Joe said with a small sneer as Evan left with a bow closing the door behind him.
Returning to his work for a moment Joesph made a small notation of Amoretta's movements on the ship in his open log book next to him. The book held everything from crews names, families, illnesses, to repairs done to the ship, to even intimate details he had been able to gleam from members of the ship. All information about everything upon the ship was held in that book and now, Amoretta had her on place. Flipping to the main page that involved her, Joesph scribbled down a few more notes on the girl. The main page that held her name was a detailed description of her like any member of the crew had to them. "She will be a troublemaker, if only the captain would see it" he muttered with a small sigh closing the book and hiding it in his desk drawers.
The ruffle of papers signified Joe cleaning up before departing as a few moments later he opened and closed the door to his quarters. The day was late and that the captain hadn't yet made a showing likely meant she was still snoozing. A small sigh escaped his lips as Joe light up another cigarette and headed towards the captains quarters. That a crew member hadn't attempted to woken her likely meant she had told them to let her sleep. A luxury her first mate would not be giving her her as he arrived at her door. A loud couple of knocks echoed thru her room as Joe's voice came thru. "Captain, The morning is burning away while you insist to hide yourself within your room and count sheep" Joe called banging on her door a few more times.
Is whether they use a human shield or make themselves one.
