Name: M'nr Age: 39 Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: /vaguely gestures/ Weyr: High Reaches Rider Rank: Wingrider Previous Rank/Craft: Courtesan - Diplomat Physical Description: M'nr seems fairly average in build and appearance - he doesn't stand much taller than an average man, nor is there anything striking about his dark hair, dark skin, or dark eyes. However, he radiates a certain jovial warmth. He holds a little more weight than a more active man would. Personality: If M'nr wasn't so average in body the amount of girth to his good attitude would probably radiate out farther than it actually does. It is nearly impossible to not catch the man in a good mood - even if you've just grossly inconvenienced him at a completely awkward time. He seems impossible to bother, but it is simply that after years training to be well mannered, he is simply too polite to let on his actual feelings.
His bonded is no stranger to the secret feelings that M'nr keeps to himself and the two serve as a pit of guarded thoughts for each other. If it wasn't for Cordrath's more amicable ways, it would have the potential of becoming a cespool of dark thoughts that could spoil the rest of them. However, he does not shy away from having them because of this - they're healthier out to someone who can help him manage them rather than cooped up, after all.
Even to a potential lover, this secretive side of M'nr is carefully guarded with the man only presenting the side of him he would like to be seen. It isn't as though he has any dark secrets he's hiding, but rather would prefer to come off vaguely fake than malicious.
M'nr's good cheer can be a bit much for a lot of people and he'll supply it even to people who may not be in a position to want it, not to the point where he's laughing at a funeral, but rather that he'll overlook someone's obviously sour mood. It has a way of him an acquired taste, but more than that, sometimes obnoxious.
In line with his good cheer, is that M'nr often can be more forceful than he intends to be and is prone to stepping on toes - especially when he thinks he's doing someone a favor or being helpful. While it is never malicious, it can be, in gentlest terms, frustrating to deal with. Positive Trait List Good Natured, Jovial, Well-Mannered Negative Trait List Secretive, Overbearing, Forceful History: Mild even as a child, Mahner was the pride and joy of his parents who pooled all of their resources to see their son attain a higher standing in the world than either of them had. So even before he had the option of other opinions, he was pushed into the Courtesan Hall to begin training. Fortunately, he found he rather liked it, and his pleasant personality (if not a bit too much at times) easily pushed him towards the training of a diplomat.
When he was 14, he was searched for an upcoming Hatching at Benden Weyr. He was returned back to the Courtesan Hall between several of them - and he had more energy put into his training in his craft, rather than to handle a dragon (after all, Thread was gone, right?).
That changed when a large, but pleasant, bronze spilled onto the sands from an egg that Mahner had found to be quite an agreeable little fellow at the Touching weeks before. The dragon roamed the sands, seeming to 'tut' at his siblings, and eyeballing any candidate on the sands who dared think any ill thought of any of them - giving polite shoves to assert that he'd heard that! here or nudging any hesitant candidates forward when a dragon obviously called for them.
Mahner carefully piled all his thoughts of worry or judgement into the back of his mind and the bronze stopped in front of him before snapping his jaws inquisitively.
Well they're not going to do you any good there! Why think them if you're going to hide them away? he inquired, seemingly annoyed that there were any thoughts the boy needed to tuck away at all.
"I can't help having them, but I can help them being where they bother anybody," Mahner replied out loud, though he realized quickly he perhaps should have thought it to himself. A boy to his left chuckled and the bronze gave him a warning look, before turning his attention back to the young man in front of him.
Well, we'll have to work on that, won't we? he stated, then continued on his way. Seemingly passed up by the dragon, the bronze continued his rounds, careful to make sure all of his siblings made it safely to theirs, and giving reminding nudges to anybody who wasn't minding their thoughts. Once everybody was seemingly, where they were meant to be, he returned to Mahner.
You waited so patiently for me. Very well, Mahner. Now that the rest have been seen to, shall we? he nudged the boy off towards the tables, to his confusion. "Shall we what?"
The bronze stepped back and cheeped in confusion. Was I not clear earlier? Mahnermine, your Cordrath knew you would wait your turn while I helped my siblings. They are helped now. Let us go and join them to make sure theirs are doing right by them. he urged.
It didn't sink in until he was at the table with the rest that he was now bonded to a large, handsome bronze for the rest of his life. And Cordrath would make for quite a spectacle when it came to Mahne- M'nr's - diplomacy. It was much more pleasant to work with others when he came bearing a glittering bronze dragon (though they both realized to some extent, the two were threatening).
When Cordrath was 12, he caught his first rising gold and shortly after would become a father for the first time. It was an experience that Cordrath enjoyed immensely. While the two did not remain at Benden for a long time afterwards (long enough to see Cordrath's eldest children take to Wings), they became visiting staples.
The return of thread, however, has made both rider and dragon nervous as they weigh their potential decisions - return to Benden, find a new home, or - whoops, another clutch. Better weigh their decisions faster! Other: Cordrath may be Susurinth's favored, but he has come to High Reaches to be with his children. They are currently in a divide-and-conquer LDR so all of the babies have a parent nearby and will keep tabs on each other frequently. As long as he has his gold's favor, he will chase no other. All of the babies will be seeing a lot of both parents despite this distance.
