"Um," Roy looked away with a blank expression. His fingers tightened around the holdall's strap and he held it against him slightly; he'd just managed to get the damn thing closed all the way. "Regulations state that no fewer than two operatives should confront The Scientist under any circumstance. So err... I-I'll go with you."
Roy swallowed then remembered Jackie's order to clean the stuff in her bag. She wasn't his superior officer - they had the same level of authority - but she was definitely scary when mad.
"I have to drop this off at the cleaners, err. You'll-" he paused. Viper was always the hardest to talk to for some reason. His face filled with blood. "You'll wait for me, right?"

"Course," Viper said. She smiled. "Thanks Roy, knew I could count on you." With a friendly wave she turned, saying over her shoulder that she'd meet him at the vehicle.

Eunmi was asleep, her face buried at the edge of a pillow she was hugging. Being the super asian she was, her xtransceiver was already customized with a melody of her favorite Monochrome Mercy song.
The tone rang several times, but the korean girl didn't wake. D-Vee sat up and stared at her, waiting a few seconds before shoving her. She still didn't wake up. He reached over her to press a button on the device. A hologram appeared, and D-Vee stared at it.
"Smeargle smear smeargle...!" he said again as he shook Eunmi.

A young woman stretched her arm out in front over her and then cracked her neck. A can of Blue Bouffalant at the base of the stool she perched on in front of an easel. Her long brunette hair was pulled back into a somewhat messy bun and she wore an oversized t-shirt that was tightened around her waist by her smock. A few strokes of paint had found there way to her face, but it was still evident she had a natural beauty to her face - maybe she'd be considered beautiful if she didn't look so serious all the time.
A small blip of a sound came from behind her and she glanced back - a message appeared on her computer screen. She slipped off the stool and stumbled over, her one leg having fallen asleep from the stationary position she'd held for a while over her canvas.
B: Hey, I got the confirmation from my director. He said he'd be glad to support your work.
The woman wiped her paint covered fingers on her pants, ensuring no wet color was still on them before typing on her keyboard.
A: Yeah? So everything is set up then?
B: Yeah, 7pm on [somedaysoon], right?
A: When can I start setting up?
B: Tomorrow at noon - I'll get you the keys to the gallery. It's on Mode Street.
A: Oh wow, Mode St.? That's better than I expected.
B: Of course smile
The woman leaned back and ran her hand through her bangs. She lifted her cellphone - a simple thing, she hadn't gotten around to getting the newest model yet - and looked through her contacts. As an artist, she had professional networking to upkeep, but her list of actual friends - or at least acquaintances was very small. After a moments consideration, she selected one of the contacts on her list, figuring she'd get to all of them eventually.
She swiveled in her chair, placing the phone to her ear as she called Elizabeth. She figured it wouldn't hurt to have someone as influential as her to make an appearance at her art gallery opening. But for every single person in her contacts list, it would probably appear strange that she would even call them. Artemis Rose didn't upkeep her social interactions very well.

"E-emi!" Henrietta said. She could see Smeargle, and part of Eunmi's face. The hologram was awkward from Eunmi laying down, but Henrietta still caught it. She mistook the closed eyes for the natural shape of Eunmi's asian ones and continued as if the girl were awake, eyes open.
"E-everyone has my number! I-i just got a," what were they called? "virtual letter from a guy inviting me to a p-party!"

((That's racist! xD ))
Eunmi's eyes slowly opened as what she thought were little squeaks came from her wrist. She stared at the hologram a moment and blinked sleepily, barely catching what Henrietta said.
"A party...?" she asked. After a moment of taking it in, she sat upright and ruffled her hair.
"Give me 15 minutes, I'll meet you downstairs," she said and clicked the off button before Henrietta had the time to protest going to a party. Not intentionally, of course, just... well, Eunmi was all about parties.
Fifteen minutes later, asian-miss-diva was downstairs prepped for the occasion. Her bangs parted to the side, the tips in light curls and tied on the side opposite her bangs, make up applied and wearing skinny jeans and a black tank top underneath a ripped up pink fitted t-shirt that said something in korean on it. She was wearing high top sneakers, black with blue laces.
"We gon' partaaay~" she said in a sing song voice, raising one arm higher than the other the moment she saw Henrietta.

But Elizabeth was currently pinned against a wall and couldn't reach her phone. So it just lay buzzing in her bag somewhere.

"W-wait!" But it was too late. Henrietta sat up on her bed. Fifteen minutes? Weren't they almost neighbors? Why were they meeting in the lobby? Henrietta shook her head. It was strange, she thought.
"O-oh well," she mumbled to herself and she looked over at Melty, sleeping on the head board. She got dressed and met Eunmi downstairs, dressed in her normal shoes, white socks moving up beyond the length of her pink dress, which fell just below the knees. The dress itself ended between collar and cleavage, leaving Henrietta feeling comfortable but cute, or so she thought.
Hair tied back in a ponytail and Melty held in her arms, she noticed Eunmi. Who promptly dropped the bomb. "P-p-p-party!?" Henrietta said, louder than she'd intended. She'd never been to a party, never even been invited. Suddenly she was nervous.
"I-i-i-i c-can't!" she protested.

Artemis sighed as Elizabeth's voicemail message played. She drummed her fingers impatiently on her desk and finally a tone played.
"Hey, Liz," she said, straightening up a bit as she spoke into the phone. "It's Artemis... just calling because, umm. Well. I'm having an art exhibition next week on [whateverdayitactuallywillbe] at seven on Mode Street.
"I guess I just wanted to see if you and Zack would be free.
"So yeah. That's it. Uhm. Yeah." She paused. "Bye."
The girl looked annoyed by her own inability to leave a decent voicemail. Looking back at the screen, she scrolled through her contacts. She paused at a name, and she was surprised that she got so embarrassed by the mere thought of him. She skipped him and went for the next friend. She sighed, wishing she just bit the bullet and got herself an xtransceiver so she could create an event on the global networking system.
But then, wouldn't people bother her more?

"I did not haul a** to get ready this quickly for you to bail on me," Eunmi said. "I can't go alone when I didn't even get an invite.
"We're going," Eunmi said, crossing her arms and briefly glaring at Henrietta.
Aw hell nah. Do you know how much hair spray it took to keep these curls in?

"B-but Emi, I-i was calling you because I don't know how to t-take my number off of the p-public.... th-thingy." The lingo was mostly lost on her. "I-i don't even know how he has my n-number a-and I've never been to a party before." She looked down at Melty who still slumbered and then back at Eunmi and then off to some corner of the center, clearly nervous. "H-hum, I-i'm no good around p-people."

It was simple. You went to parties. You met people. You had fun. Occasionally a cute boy would be involved. Helloooo? Eunmi didn't get how Henrietta didn't enjoy these things.
"Henrietta, how are you ever going to learn if you don't try to expose yourself?" Eunmi said. "You have to take risks sometimes. And this party host sought you out, right?
"Then obviously they think you're an interesting enough person to hang out with," Eunmi replied. "People aren't so cruel to invite people they don't like to social gatherings."

But what if it was Kijin? She'd woken up with him in her hospital room and he pet her head like she was an animal. Henrietta did not want to be locked in a room with him. Or even in the same city. She voiced this, because I'm too lazy to convert monologue to dialogue.
Then she added, "I-i'll go but if he's th-there.." she broke off then. Did she threaten to leave? She didn't have enough confidence for that, for some reason, she found.

Eunmi, managing to convince Henrietta to go, waited outside the door to Wayne's room. She glanced at Henrietta and nodded.
"He invited you, you should knock," Eunmi murmured.

The door swung open and Wayne's face was quiet for a second before he beamed, "Henry! Oomy! No way you actually came!"
He stepped aside so they could come in, "I'm gonna order room service in a bit. You guys want anything bringing up?"

"Uh, yeah," Eunmi said, tilting to the side to look at Henrietta.
"Just call me Emi," she said, a bead of sweat forming on her brow. She didn't have the heart to try and correct his attempt at her name.
"And I dunno, what are you getting for room service?"
