Kisuke slowly walked through town up to the Kage office, with him was of course fang. They had been gone much longer than he should have. The exams ended forever ago it seems. For a genin to have not returned to his village after so long must have looked bad. He wondered if anyone even noticed. His sister most likely but she could take care of herself at thier apartment. Kisuke walked into the Kage's tower and sat on the bench outside. He let the secretary know he was there to speak with the Hokage. He took a seat down and waited, he looked over at Fang who had his ear down. He was uneasy for some reason. He could feel something his skin tingled and his hair stood on its end. He didn't know why though.
"My predecessor told me nothing when he left me in charge of the village. He might as well have hung a sign on the door saying gone fishing, please lock up when you leave" Taka said with a but of humor in her voice. Kisuke had been waiting but it seemed the secretary had gotten busy and could not let the Hokage know he was here. Though his skin was still tingaling he stood and walked over to the door. He knocked on the door twice."Kisuke Shinsetsu, reporting back from the Chunnin Exams and a status report on Kumogakure." How long had he been gone? He wondered if Rin would be mad, probably not. She had distanced herself from the family after Noctis died. He considered her family, he wondered if she felt the same. And not like I'm the Hokage everyone is family... But she wasn't one to talk about things like that. He must have inherited his mothers sensitivities. He would wait until called in. He could smell two people inside was she having a private meeting with someone?

The Hokage's actual office. He couldn't remember if he'd actually been here before or not. All he knew now was he felt like having a shower and a change of bandages. Maybe the hospital could provide after her met with Kya again. One of them was going to need it. He should have just never came back. Everything he learned since his return depressed him.
Right into the building and past the secretary he hobbled, leaning against the shakujo of Kya's he'd claimed for his own with his right side. His left arm hung in the waist of his yukata, sleeve limp, and clear bandage wrappings covered his arm and most of his chest, concealing the burns all over his left arm and back. Walking didn't hurt so much, but damn if breathing did. A familiar face was in the room, along with a doggo. It was Kisuke, who hadn't introduce himself during the exams. Typical."Oh, you're that guy. Good to see you made it out alive. This must be Fang."He could kneel down to scritch and scratch, but that s**t hurt, so he decided against it. He was on a new mission or three, and this was... like two of them. Phases, really.

Responsibilities of running a village, huh? Four stepped out of the way, finding a couch to plop down on for a bit of rest. Spreading his arms over the top of the cushions, he let his head lean back, and prepared an inner prayer. What he should have done better at? It was a fair question from her perspective, he supposed. Introspection was key. He could respect that. That being said, Kanzaki was far removed from being in the mood for it. There were things he wanted, needed, to say, and now was not really the apropos time. He was not on his own, Taka's, or even Four's. Right now was for Kya. But since she asked, Kanzaki drew out and lit up a cigarette, making Koto now want a smoke, taking a deep breath of it.
"What I should have done better at? If I have to be honest, I guess I could have lowered my expectations of you and not even gone to the exams, ma'am. I thought I'd be in the way of most of the village when we went on that UHV reconnaissance mission. You know; the one that never happened? Because if we'd gained some actionable intel, we would have struck by now. Deal a real blow. The kind of blow that might have stopped them from showing up at the Chuunin Exams, attacking us all, and killing the kids, instructors, proctors, and who knows how many others on that island."
It was right about that time his dull eye color brightened, taking on less a less rust tone and growing brighter as the he thought back, thinking to the senseless deaths going on all around him once he had a moment to catch his breath at the docks. The worst of it was that it had all been preventable. Years of schooling, weeks of training, days of studying, hours of briefing had all come undone and rendered worthless in a few minutes, culminating in this one introspective second where he had to think back and remember it all, now that the wound had a chance to close. A midnight ring and tomoe graced his irises, the old soul tearing up but keeping them from falling with a sniffle. It had not closed at all, despite the time, and was laying it at the feet of the person he held accountable, no longer holding it back or keeping it in.
"You know how I know I scored the highest marks? Because I was on the first boat off, carrying some passed out stranger on my back, and stayed until after the last one returned. I could have spent more time trying not to lay their deaths at your or anyone else's feet, or wondering how I was going to cope with any of what I lived through before I got back..."
His cigarette had gone out by now, having only been puffed once, but he didn't seem to notice at all as he cleared his throat and softened his glare, unawares of what transpired in his eyes. Kanzaki just stuffed the butt in his robe, relaxing his fists to ease the white color from his knuckles. Letting out a deep breath, he regained his composure, rolling his burned shoulder to get rid of an itch."...but if I had to say what I really should have done, it was embrace cooperating sooner. Fang and his human partner... whatshisname downstairs. The both of them were a huge help. I got a tad distracted trying to mislead other examinees."

Taka fists clenched hard enough for her nails to pierce her palms. She forced herself to relax. "You know you are the first to voice their distaste about me acquiring this position aloud. I can read emotions you know? Its like being the only one wi th ears amoung the ceonically talkitive. Dealing with village wide insubordination, I honestly wonder why I came back to konoha at all. All it has done for me is take everything I've had to give and then claim it wasn't enough. The recon mission did take place but I sent a full contingent of anbu instead of the genin group, because over half of them never completed their squad tactical training. At this point in highly considering going and dealing with them with myself and a few old friends. I've done too goddamn much for this village to be treated with resentment. Fought the kyubi on four separate occasions. ******** up immortal alien cultist...things that don't die no matter how hard you put them down. Dealt with uhv incursion at our doorstep kultiple times to keep my people in this ******** place safe. Lost my sanity, regained it. Lost a wife, to the uhv. Lost friends to the very beast housed within me all to have my best friend and sensei abandon me and leave me with this ******** mess.
Now, dealing with the elephant in the room. You got to vent a little. My turn. How should I deal wi th mass I subordination around my newer graduates. Hang them? Stuff them in cages in the roads for people to see? Public executions to make examples of what NOT to do? I can't do that. Already seen as a monster everywhere else I go, but by have a job to do now. Taka had shown Gotham Kanzaki her true colors, unfortunately. So that was who his Kage was. Wrong as she was, if she was going to use force to shut him up, he couldn't withstand it. Yet. Until such a time, he took his leave to take care of Kya. At least she was redeemable.

Ayame Araki of the Raigyo Clan, Kunoichi of the Hidden Leaf Village. XXX A sigh escaped the woman, nervous and shaken like a leaf she was. There was a bit of an exchange before she even arrived, yet she could hear it and feel the tense air. She lingered outside the office of the Kage's building after she gave word to the secretary of her own visit. There were others there besides herself, a man with a canine and the others who simply done their duty in the administration building.
XXX Ayame lingered outside of the office, simply waiting for admittance for her official graduation to Genin and to acquire the "badge" of profession - the headband. Dressed in her garb of a kimono worn in a tight fit around her, the flowing violet cloth covering a majority of her body while she wore geta to complete the look. The kimono she wore bore a majority of floral patterns and decorative spirals along the sleeve, a popular fashion choice for the clan.
XXX The name Kisuki was shouted out followed by the invitation for them to enter, Ayame stood off to the side close to a wall when she heard. Patient she was, if nervous after hearing the escalating voices from earlier though the subject or what was spoken of escaped her. Holding both hands together in front of her, she briefly observed another who was leaving the office shortly after another was called in but she paid him little mind other than noting the bandages. A fresh injury from a mission perhaps?
XXXSo, she waited while her eyes wandered the room to those who worked there. The kunoichi's eyes met with others, and their's with hers as her bloodline was fully active then. Of the workers she observed, her eyes reflected their own and she was aware of the emotion in each one. She continued her observation for only a short while, getting a general feel of the area from other's emotional state while she reflected a woman's more calm demeanor as her own. Using it in this matter becomes a Complex cost, taking Stamina as well as Chakra. Cannot be used for A Rank or higher Emotives and doesn't affect further than thirty feet. Use of Emotives and Floral jutsu outside of the Chakra Manifestation's effect are independent of one another. This doesn't create or utilize any floral jutsu on its own, only acting as a medium for Emotives. • Kihakugan ~ Dojutsu usage allows for Eyesight based Ninjutsu for 50% extra the cost, additionally the user's sight's unable to be picked up by another Dojutsu such as the Sharingan. •Natural Weakness ~ Flower Ninjutsu are not a true element and carry an innate weakness to Fire [Katon] Ninjutsu, -1 Rank in efficiency against such techniques.

Someone else came up behind and spoke to him, he seemed fairly familiar. As he passed by he could smell it. He was the Konoha shinobi that disguised himself as a woman during the exams."I see, same to you." It seemed only he entered first, perhaps the Taka was expecting him earlier. And so he waited, though he could hear everything they were saying. He listened to Kanzaki, he agreed on some points but on other points thier difference in opinion was as wide as the ocean. There was no way that Taka's makeshift team of genin could have done any considerable damage to the UHV. What happened at the exams was unavoidable. At this point Rin retailiated the stress of the job may have gotten to her but she really let him have it. He had been there for the Kyuubi and UHV invasion, he remmebered being carried out of his house by a anbu member. He heard stories of the immortal cult members. After she was done he stopped actually trying to listen, now she was just talking about turning everyone into paste.
Once he finished listening a flowery aroma wafted through the building, a girl in a kimino just waltz right in and began to wait. He tilted his head slightly while looking at her, It would appear she was a genin coming for her headband. Suddenly his name could be heard being shouted down the hall. Guess it was his turn to walk into the fire. Kisuke walked past the girl in the kimono."She's not usually like this, you'll be fine."She looked pretty nervous before but it seemed she had calmed down a bit. Kisuke kept walking as he passed Kanzaki who was heading out. He walked into the office and stood in front of Taka."Thank you for seeing me Lady Hokage. I heard the question from outside. But I would like to report the situation in Kumo before hand. I just happened to be there when Raichi arrived to deliver the invitation. Since I had completed my original goal of assisting a Kumo shinobi carry her comrade back to the village. I decided to join Raichi so that we could return together. The sitting Kage is a Hatake currently, he allowed us in fairly easily and listened to our invitation. And while he said they would send word if they are going at least he didn't flat out say no. So I feel like that's a good sign." Now he thought about the question that Taka had asked.
"Nothing."He said simply."I fought as hard as could, I protected as many as I could, I saved as many people as I could. But it was not enough, People still died."He paused for a moment."After that Exams I assisted in taking a distant cousin of mine back to her home village, I was in a daze the entire way. I thought to myself over and over, what could I have done differently? I couldn't find an answer...until I remembered something my father told me a very long time ago..." Kisuke closed his eyes as if trying hard to remember."You can't feel the heat until you hold your hand over the flame, you have to cross the line just to remember where it lays. You won't know your worth now son until you take a hit. And you won't find the beat until you lose yourself in it." His eyes opened with a fierceness It looked like a predator looking for its prey."That's why I won't back down and I won't run or hide. Cause these are the things that I can't deny." He kneeled and ruffled Fang's fur."I've only just begun my journey to become a great shinobi like him. I've experienced a fraction of what he experienced at my age. The only thing I can do is be stronger than I was before. That's the only thing I can do."
