True Blood After Midnight {Let's Pick Up Where We Left Off}

Nicholas continued to read as Aven sat somewhere nearby. Without taking his eyes off the hand-written pages, he replied. "The fall? Oh. I was feeling cooped up in my room."

As Nicholas flipped from page to page, he recalled what Amentet once told him back at his room. People should stick their noses huh? Although he brushed off the warning, he couldn't help but think that the female dragon was right at one point. But the vast knowledge written in such a material was captivating. He wanted to know more.

Suddenly, like a bullet, it hit him. A searing pain pierced his eye like an unbearable burning sensation. Nicholas quickly placed his left palm on his red eye and grunted. F*ck.. Not again.. A full minute elapsed before he found himself panting. The pain subsided.

Stretching out on her back on the bench, Aven smiled at his reply. She laid there looking up at the sky for a while, wondering if she should leave him to his business.

She then heard Nicholas make a noise, it sounded painful, she propped up on her elbows and looked over in his direction, "somethings wrong...". clearly he was in pain, but she didnt know what to do. Soon it seemed he had calmed down, she quietly asked, "Do you need anything?" as she sat back up.

"I'm.. fine." Nicholas released his palm from his face slowly and began to open his eyes. An eerie red glow was made visible for a few seconds before fading back into nothing. This was a frequent event in his life. The burning sensation was another way of saying that The Devil's Eye was beginning to eat him from the inside. Such power wasn't ment for humans to control. The book has answers..

After a deep sigh, Nicholas continued to read. The further he goes, the more painful the burns get. But he knew he needed the knowledge. He pressed on. The night was calming, with gentle winds blowing every now and then. Petals from nearby flowers danced with the wind. A momentary peace before an everlasting chaos.

Able sat on the ground under a tree still in the forest. She sighed and shook her head the herbs she gathered were scattered everywhere. "Talk about....bad timing..." She stood up and dusted her self off and looked to see that she was no longer by the edge of the woods but some how she had wondered further in therefore making her lost. "Great...maybe i'll die in here...no one will know im missing anyways..." She let out frustrated sigh and began heading to where she thought the castle was.

"Oh, ok then...well..I think I'm going to head inside, its a bit chilly," Aven said as a light breeze started to blow, she hugged herself and shivered, "If you do need anything..ya know..ask, I won't bite."

She bowed her head slightly as a farewell to Nicholas then headed towards the door, quietly opening it and sneaking in. She ran her fingers through her hair, it had gotten a bit tangled out in the wind, then headed towards her room. She felt tired, hopefully she would get some rest tonight before the insomnia took over.

She reached her room and went inside, again leaving the door cracked slightly. Changing into another slip dress to sleep in, she jumped in bed and curled up in the blankets, looking at the ceiling.

Nicholas watched as Aven walked back into the castle and dissappeared into the halls. He never wanted to be close to anyone, heck, he never would allow anyone to do so. It was his belief that if one has nothing, then one loses nothing. Having lost the one he once loved so dear tore his soul apart, making him who he is now. A monster. He wil not lose anything ever again.

The moment he felt he was now alone, Nicholas stood at the center of the pavement with the book on his hand. Suddenly, he tossed the nameless book above his head and it blew open. The pages circled him like a shield of some sort as Nicholas extended his right hand forward. With his eyes closed, he read the inscriptions. A moment later, he whispered.

Patefacio Porta.
Gate. Open.
Libero Limitatio.
Release. Restriction.

With a wave of force bursting from the epicenter, a magic seal drew itself beneath Nicholas' feet. It had an eerie red and black glow with illegible inscriptions rotating and revolving around it. He opened his eyes and observed the 10-meter radius he has created. A flower petal remained floating inside. He touched it yet the petal did not move. With a smirk in his face, Nicholas has successfully stopped time.

As little as it was, Aven was able to get in a few precious hours of sleep. She was use to this by now, ever since she ran away from home she wasnt able to sleep as well as she use to. Still, it would be nice to be able to get through an entire night like a normal human being.

Rolling over to face her window, she saw that it was still quite dark out. As she let out a slightly annoyed sigh she started to crawl out of bed, practically falling out actually. Groping around in the dark she found the clothes she was wearing earlier and changed into them, letting her eyes get adjusted to the darkness. She then searched the room for a candle, finding one sitting on a table in a corner along with some matches, along with a stack of books. She took the candle and matches and picked out one of the larger books and stretched out on her stomach in the middle of the floor. Carefully she lit the candle and flipped through the pages of the book, returning soon to the beginning and started to read, humming as she scanned the pages.

For several hours Nicholas did nothing but try to perfect his newly acquired abilities. It was so rigorous that he was sweating buckets, his knuckles were already bleeding. I.. need to keep going.. He told himself, but his body was inches away from giving up on him. His muscles were sore all over. He was out of breath. The human body can't take in so much punishment but the Devil's Eye required it.

A moment later, Nicholas dropped his scythe on the ground and fell on his hands and knees. Dammit.. He hated the feeling of not being able to accomplish what he had started. It aggravates him so much that he just kept punching the pavement until his bloody knuckle imprinted itself there. Eventually he called it quits and sighed. I need another shower.. Nicholas dragged his scythe and himself back up to his room.

Akane was in her dream... The dream was strange, and pretty much what happens to her every time.

"Why me? Why did I have to get the Devil's eye along with other person and you?"

"Stop your whining at once,"

"But, I don't wanna be one of you!!"

"You shall respect that eye of yours. Nicholas, will be the youngest of us three."

"Wait--!"

Akane opened her eyes at the sound of dripping water. She stretched her hands a bit, still laying at the bed.

Aven started to feel uneasy, and she didnt know why. She stood up, taking the book in one hand and the candle in the other, putting both items back on the table and blowing out the candle.

Crossing to the door, she opened it and stepped out in the hall, shutting the door behind her as quietly as she could just in case there were people sleeping, Aven made her way towards the gardens. She needed air.

It was still a bit dark out, but that didn't matter to her, she liked the dark. Quietly sneaking outside, she walked slowly towards a small clearing and sat down in the cool grass, breathing deeply. "Something about this place..doesn't feel right.." she thought to herself as she picked at a blade of grass. She lay back and stretched her arms out in the air, letting them fall to rest on her stomach. "At least out here the feeling isn't as overwhelming.". She started to sing quietly, staring up at the sky.

Nicholas gently pushed his door open and entered his chambers. As expected, the goddess was still in his room. Surprisingly, she was lying on his bed. Guess I'm sleeping in the sofa. He told himself as he rested his scythe on the corner of the room. Motioning quietly to the bathroom, he took his clothes off and opened the showers. The steamy waters cleansed him of dirt and blood as the air thickens around him, pretty much censoring his privates. Tomorrow, I resume training.. He kept telling himself as he continued washing his battered body.

June tried to retrace her steps in order to get not lost again, and in the midst of this, she found the boy from before heading back to his room. Disregarding how desheveled he looked...and the weapon...she followed him to ask him something. she wasn't sure if he would be jumpy and accidentally hit her with his weapon if she tapped his shoulder, so she attempted calling out to him. Her voice was weak, though, so barely any noise came out. She stopped when he went into the bathroom, her face going blank. sighing, she decided to sit down and wait fro him to come out. The steam decided to float from underneath the door. It was warm and making her clothes stick to her body, so, without thinking, she took off her clothes and left her under garments on, sitting in front of the door cross-legged and patiently waiting the boy to exit his shower. She was italian, that was normal for them.

Savoring his last few moments under the warm water, Nicholas turned off the showers and stepped out of the tub. After he grabbed his towel from the nearby rack, he gently dried up his hair as he motioned out of the bathroom. This would prove to be a mistake.

Outside his bathroom sat a young woman in her undergarments. Her slender body and smooth skin was bathed in moonlight as the wind blew in from Nicholas' open balcony. For a while he did not move, blankly staring at the half naked female infront of him. Then, like a bolt of lightning, it hit him. Nicholas quickly covered up between his legs with the small towel he used earlier. "W-What are you doing here?!" He asked, trying to keep his voice down from waking up the sleeping goddess on his bed.

Nicholas was beginning to think that this trip to Neteru is turning from strange to down right crazy.

Akane heard a whispering and could feel a bit of women skin pressing on her. She opened her eyes and half stood up, but still in the bed. She was still in her sleep mode and couldn't see who is standing there, naked, with towel. She felt hot, because of the steam from the bath and unbuttoned her clothes and then turned to June.

"Oh, at least a woman is here," Akane said rubbing her eyes then removing her upper top cloth, and keeping it near her. She turned to a window looking to a full moon...

Full moon...Who'll be my victim this full moon.

Nicholas did his best to restrain his hormones from kicking in. His eyes widened even more, however, when he witnessed the goddess wake up and unbutton her clothes. This has to be some kind of dream.. Quickly looking away from the two, he asked.

"Can't you two get inside the showers before undressing?" And don't you have bathrooms in your own rooms?
