Dali's training with Henrietta seemed to pay off. He was quick on his feet and dashed forward, shell extended to slash quickly several times at the Snivy. The Snivy, however, was agile as well and managed to jump back, using Vine Whip to block each one of the attacks. Dali could only consecutively make so many advances before the Snivy caught an opening an lashed forward with one of it's vines, knocking the water-type back.

Dali skidded to a halt, the vine having struck his side and forcing him to wince.

"Let's end this quickly! Wrap it up!" Cheren said, smirking. Eunmi stared at him - what an awful pun.

"Water Pulse," Eunmi said, and Dali blasted water directly at the Snivy's face, knocking the vines away from the force. It wasn't very effective, but it pushed the Pokemon back and would likely disorient it long enough for the next command. "Fury Cutter."

Dali dashed, keeping up the Water Pulse long enough to close the distance and then would slash up with his shell, a green blade protruding as it struck at the Snivy. It cried out, raising it's arms to block the attack, vines squirming to wrap around Dali, but he struck at them with subsequent slashes of the Fury Cutter. The Snivy jumped back, getting distance away from Dali's blade attacks.

"Keep your distance, use Leech Seed!"

"Another Water Pulse," Eunmi said, not knowing what Leech Seed did, but knew that it had to be a projected attack at the range they were at. The Water Pulse connected with the launch of seeds, keeping them from making contact. They fell into the ground, quickly growing into little seedlings and Eunmi got the gist of what the attack did. Leech? They probably sapped energy.

"Water Pulse and Water Gun work at this distance, but they're not making any dents..." Eunmi worried. "We have to get closer, but that Leech attack... and the vines - is Dali fast enough?"

Eunmi looked at Dali, who was panting, but still standing. He'd gained a lot of endurance in the short amount of time they'd been training - he was stronger than he looked. She nodded.

"Water Gun," she said and gestured for Dali to move forward. "Then Fury Cutter."

The water gun would make sure that Snivy was occupied while Dali closed the distance. The Snivy jumped back, but Dali was faster, keeping the water gun steady until he was close.

"Vine Whip!" Cheren said again. The Snivy's vines snapped from behind Dali as he made a slash for the grass type. The oshawott gritted in pain, continuing to slash out, making contact until the vines stopped and the grass pokemon toppled backwards.

"Rufus!" Cheren said, dashing forward and scooping the Snivy up. Dali staggered, tipping to the sides, barely able to keep standing from all the Vine Whips he took to his back. He started to fall, but gentle arms caught him. He hadn't seen her move, but Eunmi was kneeling down next to him. She said nothing as she inspected his back, a sad look in her eyes as her fingertips barely grazed them. She shifted, rustling through her bag until she retrieved a Potion bottle and sprayed it on the wounds. It was soothing and sped up the healing quickly - soon they weren't even cuts anymore so much as red markings.

"Sorry, Dali," Eunmi said, patting him on the head. "But thank you for working so hard."

"I can't believe I lost," Cheren wailed, hugging his grass Pokemon tightly in his arms. Bel rose her hands to try and comfort him, but he kept rocking the Pokemon back and forth.

"Ch-cheren, calm down," Eunmi said, also raising her arms to try and make him settle down. She gestured to the Potion in her hands and offered it to him. "Is it... Rufus... okay?"

Cheren looked down at the unconscious Pokemon that he was nearly crushing from his over panicked reaction. He loosened his grip and let Eunmi spray the Potion on the Pokemon's wounds.

"It was a good match," Eunmi said sincerely. It was good to know now how fast Dali was and how much difference the training made - especially since they anticipated to challenge the gym today. "You're not mad, are you?"

Cheren stared up at Eunmi. She seemed more like her old self - back when they were all still friends.

"Why do you care?" he said, stepping back. "You're supposed to be selfish and self-centered."

Eunmi looked surprised, glancing between him and Bel. Even Bel seemed to agree with what Cheren said, even if she had stuck up for Eunmi earlier. Eunmi couldn't recall when she'd last hung out with them - but surely she hadn't done anything intentionally malicious to them...?

"...are you two traveling together?" she asked, ignoring the statement. "That's really cool."

"We keep bumping into each other," Bel said shaking her head. "But no, not really."

"Ah, I see," Eunmi said, kneeling down and scooping Dali up. "Thanks for the match, Cheren.

"Next time, we run into each other, we can have a rematch. Maybe... hang out or something after," she offered. "I'm supposed to meet up with a friend right now, though." She waved and motioned for D-Vee to follow her. He gave Eunmi's oldest friends a wave as he turned to follow her, leaving the two Nuvema kids to stand on their own.

"...I'm really surprised she beat you," Bel said.

"I don't trust her," Cheren grumbled, hugging Rufus.

Eunmi made her way to the bridge on Route 3. Or at least, where she thought it was. Where was she, anyway?

[You're not going to make us spar underwater, are you?] D-Vee asked. [That looked hard...]

"It's this way, right?" Eunmi said, turning around.

[Dali would be okay, but he's a water type. He'd have an advantage there, don't you think? Maybe even be more agile. I'm different... I don't think I can paint in water.]

"No no, it must have been that way. I was right the first time," Eunmi replied.

[All this walking is making me hungry,] D-Vee complained. Eventually, Eunmi found where Salieri was.

"Hey!! Sorry it took so long! We got lost!"

Salieri looked up from her makeshift log seat at Eunmi, moving the towel that she was using to dry her hair out of her eyes. Before her were Wukong and Liuye Dao, lying down exhausted on another towel upon the sandy shore of the lake.

"Yeah, took you long enough," she greeted with a smirk. "These two have had just about enough of fighting underwater for now. It's a killer on your lungs, that's for sure...hey, where's Henrietta?"

~~~~
"If you want to help a friend and only risk yourself, that's either heroic or foolish. The way I see it, you're being very noble right now."
Paint was splattered all over the floor. Luckily, sheets of plastic had been laid down, but it was surprising how much paint had managed to drip onto the ground. It was probably in correlation to the way the artist was feverishly working, swapping between brushes and colors.
DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA~!
The ringtone went off abruptly out of no where, causing Artemis to jump. Her paintbrush made a long sideways streak, jagged towards the ends as she regained control of the brush. Her eye twitched, whole body frozen as she stared at the ruined painting, the (pokemon center) ringtone repeating over and over. She let the brush clatter to the floor, spinning around with a sigh and wiping her hands on her smock. She flipped open the phone - it was evident she didn't care too much if paint got on it, since everything but the screen had markings of color on it, almost to the extent of making the numbers impossible to see.
"Yes?" she said in an annoyed tone.
"Miss Rose? It's Karen, Director Heartfield's assistant," the voice on the other end said. Her voice was small, almost intimidated.
"Artemis is fine," she said, correcting Karen for the hundredth time. "And I'm aware who you are."
"R-Right," she said in a squeak. "W-well, there was another incident in Nacrene-"
"-And they're tired of Pokemon Center related information making it's way to the headlines of the news when more important things should be making the front page," Artemis nodded. She listened as Karen explained how the head nurse - Amber - had recently been found burned in the back of the Nacrene Center and had attacked an innocent bystander shortly after. Artemis leaned over her desk, making a note of the nurse's name on a pad of paper.
"-I-I know such tasks could be left lower levels of management, but considering this is the second - maybe even third event within 48 hours, Director Heartfield would appreciate if administrative measures were taken."
"That's fine. But Karen?" she paused, standing up right. "Can you please tell Director Heartfield I am billing him for a new 10 foot canvas?"
"W-what?"
"Kidding," Artemis said, glancing back at her painting. She'd just have to take some turpenoid to it. She clicked the phone closed and sighed. This piece had to be finished before her gallery opening...
* * * * *
Artemis Rose appeared out of no where. A black and white blur had appeared next to her when she had emerged from a teleport, but disappeared before it could be identified. She was paint-free, dressed in tight black jeans, a white tank top and a cool looking jacket. She had sunglasses on and was wearing heeled boots. She had an air of confidence about her, and didn't seem like she was in the mood to be bothered.
She looked up at the police station and walked in. She stepped up to the person at the desk, flipping her wallet out and showing her 6-star Pokemon Trainer ID - her rank with the Pokemon Administration was high up - part of the counsel, ranking higher than Gym Leaders, if only because of her status as Head Administrator of Pokemon Centers (and Poke Mart affiliates).
"I'm here to speak with one of my employees that was taken into custody," she said, removing her sunglasses.
Henrietta couldn't help the small curve of her lips, the tiny smile. She looked away. "Th-thank you."
[HeyNwhat'sforbreakfastmani'mstarved] came the word flowing together voice of the Darumaka as he rolled his way over to N's feet. He bolted up from his ball, eyebrows flaming bright and he looked over to see Henrietta.
Who was staring. She didn't know what to say. This was a different Darumaka, right? She'd be a crazy lady if she thought it was hers, right?
"D-darumi?" Her voice shook, but it was all she could say.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 5:16 pm
Did this lady have authority here? Was the Pokemon Association that important government wise? Yes. Frankly, the PA had such a hold on the world, trainers, regulations with Pokemon, it was like handing PETA a government power. Or so that's how Roland saw it. Course, PETA would never admit they were bastards, the PA made a fortune off of pokemon fighting.
Sick dirty...
"Yeah, I'll grab her," Roland said and he went to retrieve Amber. After a moment an officer met Artemis to lead her to a room with a table where she would be sitting across form Amber.
Unless she liked standing.
Amber sat prim and proper, none of the previous fit present on her face. Light burns adorned her face, half of it burned like this, the other half beautiful, it seemed naturally so.
This was one variable N hadn't accounted for: Darumi's sudden reappearance. Darumaka weren't native to this area, and this one happened to speak in a very distinctive manner. He was a standout.
His eyes intensified for a moment, looking down at the Darumaka. "I told you not to be seen," he whispered harshly. Quiet enough for her not to hear, but not responding to Henrietta could also be a giveaway. No matter which route he took, N saw no probability of escaping this scenario.
Artemis stood, not bothering to try and make herself comfortable. She didn't intend on staying long.
"My name is Artemis Rose," the woman said, arms crossed. "You may or may not have heard of me," she paused. While she was head of the Pokemon Centers, she did not maintain a very strong presence among them. Each region had a regional manager, but Artemis' position was above even that.
"I am the head administrator of PCO," she explained, PCO being Pokemon Center Organization. "Amber Lance, correct? In light of the recent events, I regret to inform you that you are being terminated from your position as head nurse at the Nacrene Center.
"You will be compensated for your injuries, a total of 5,000,000P (roughly $50,000), with an additional 200,000P a month for the course of a year or until you are able to regain employment in addition to any assistance you need for medical reasons related to last nights incident.
"I need to take your PA PCO ID, and afterwards we can go through the paperwork to cover your bail," Artemis said, sounding rather bored. "If you have questions or complaints..."
The woman paused, uncrossing her hands and placing them in her pockets.
"You may fill out a form and submit it on the PCO website," she said sternly.
"Hell if I know," Eunmi said, looking annoyed. "I had to save her from some crazy nurse, and then she ran off while I was on the phone with you. I figured she was on her way over here."
((God dammit I'm stupid.))
EDITED
[I didn't think people would randomly come to the train yard,] Darumi admitted. It seemed silly. An old train yard. Pfft, what kind of losers came here? No wait, Nwashere. oops.
[Sorry,] he said, apologizing for his thoughts.
"D-darumi?" Henrietta said again and Darumi turned and waved.
[Henrietta!] He shouted and he rolled on over. Henrietta could only stare. She didn't have a pokedex or any real nonflashy way to seeing if it was him. His pokeball had been taken by Gorm, too. She looked down at the fiery eyebrowed Pokemon, searching for some way to tell it was him.
"Is that you?" her voice was a whisper. Could he understand her? Were Pokemon that complex?
Darumi nodded.
Was that a sign? Did he really get it? Was it really him? Henrietta stopped caring. She grit her teeth.
Henrietta was shaking. So many things were going through her head right now. So many things. She looked up at N and there was a fire in her eyes, beneath the layer of tears that splintered her vision like cracked glass.
"Y-you." It was all she could manage. She was shaking, angry. Normally she locked herself out from abuse. Normally she could just shut up and take it. Walk away. But she snapped, this was different. N had casually acted like a friend while he had taken her Pokemon. He was one of THEM!
Her voice cracked, the word came out a sob, "monster!" And she charged, she dove for him.
***
Amber held a pleasant smile. Hands folded, fingers laced together. "Ms. Rose," she said as she made eye contact, "please vacate the premise. Everyone here has been corrupted by a devil, I surely would regret it if I had to cleanse you as well. With your position it would be devastating."
She licked her lips. "I don't know if I could manage such guilt. So," her voice didn't shake, her body language didn't change. She was like a doctor happily informing you that you'd beaten cancer, "please go."
Salieri shrugged and dropped her towel to the space on the log beside her. Opting not to tie her hair back up as usual, it flowed down, wavy and long enough to reach her mid back. "Crazy nurse, huh? I think I met one of those two nights ago. I don't know the policies that the pokemon center has on intoxication, but she did not look happy with me."
She sighed. "Ah well. Hopefully she's not getting into trouble or anything. She's a doom magnet if I ever saw one. At least she wants to try and take care of herself."
The Battle Girl smirked up at Emi, wincing slightly from the sight of the sun. "The way you worry about her, I could've taken you for her babysitter."
~~~~

N had instantly come up with several different courses of action for Henrietta when the girl figured out that this Darumaka was hers. Attacking him was one of the least likely, but it was still happening.

The green haired trainer jumped back. This wasn't like the day before when he confronted Henrietta in the tournament. Although it had only additional night of training, his skill had evolved exponentially since then. N's calculative thinking process had analyzed all of the fighters techniques in the footage from the news. He learned from his mistakes and the styles of others.

So when Henrietta dove, he knew that he had many ways to dodge. She was distraught, sloppy with emotion. And now he was busted.

"Wait!" N called out, holding up a hand for her to stop. "I can explain this! It's not what you think it is!"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 5:54 pm

Artemis twitched, quickly suppressing her reaction. She had gone through all the trouble to go all the way here to do some stupid task lower management could have handled at Director Heartfield's request just for that...?

Artemis said nothing, twisting to face Roland.

"Forget I said anything about bail," she murmured, glancing back at Amber. "Following PCO regulations, you will receive your check within 14 business days."

Artemis exited. Although she had managed to stay calm and professional, she was annoyed by the woman's reaction. They had set up the system that in the event of medical emergencies, by law, compensation was made.

"I think a psychological analysis should be made before she's released," Artemis said, looking to Roland. "But that's my opinion, please don't take it personally. Sorry if I wasted your time."

Artemis gave a quick, small smile of apology.

"The PA would appreciate if you would refrain from commenting if any media personnel approach you," Artemis replied. "I hope you understand. Normally, it wouldn't be too much of a problem, but it seems the Nacrene Center's publicity has become a bit viral and over the top while more important issues are being ignored."

Artemis extended her hand to politely shake the man's hand.

* * * * *

"I know," Eunmi said. "She asked me to teach her Taekwon-do, but maybe Kung Fu is more her alley?" Eunmi laughed, nudging Sal with her elbow. "Just kidding..

"Yeah, I kind of feel like I'm babysitting her."

Eunmi crossed her arms.

"I don't think she has many friends though," she sighed.

Amber watched Artemis go. She would give the woman a head start. Maybe an hour or so. Roland shook her hand and led her out and Amber was taken to her cell.

Meal time was in an hour, too. Perfect, Amber thought.

Perfect.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 6:01 pm

Tears flew as she dove, her vision coming back as they ran. N's hands were up but Henrietta didn't care. She merely stepped to step passed them as she tried to step passed his arms, dive into him, tackle him.

"Why is Darumi with you!?" she shouted. Of course, it was a Henrietta shout, so she might as well have been talking.

Salieri twitched at the thought of teaching Henrietta kung fu. Although Salieri's tough exterior was partially a front, she was very hardened when it came to the difficult disciplines required to master kung fu. Imagining someone like Henrietta learning how to do what she could do? It seemed impossible.

Eunmi brought the conversation to a different point after the joke, and for a second Sal's mood whiplashed. What she said resonated with the younger part of Salieri. But then the Battle Girl smiled again. "People don't need many friends. They just need good ones."

She stood up. "Anyway, I was thinking of working on a high speed movement technique for Wukong." Sal pointed back to the laying figure of her Monferno. "I figure that if his Mach Punch works on his arms, maybe that same sort of force can be used for his legs. Do you have any pokemon with priority moves? We could train that up together."
