((OOC: O.o I'm sorry, but that speech is just too perfect. Has to be attempted now. >.>))
Apsalar looked at Yani silently, her funny amber eyes going dark. For a moment, it almost seemed that she was considering his words. Difficult, since she probably didn't really understand it all that well, but she got at least the gist of it.
Blood was what she was made for, was it? It was what she was created to be. What they were all created to be. Her lips curled back slightly, revealing the viciously sharp teeth. The scientist-man wanted her to crave the scent of blood? Fine then. Who was she to argue?
Her body shifted from its relaxed pose to a coiled spring, just waiting. Judging distance, judging possibilities. It would not be a killing blow. Could not be, not with these bars in the way.
She didn't care. He'd just told her to crave the scent, essentially to attempt to get it however she could, and she had been wanting for a long, long time to see him bleed.
And then he turned to Sko, and gave her the opportunity.
The young blonde surged forward, getting her hand as far out of the cage as she possibly could, and with claws curved for a violent blow, slashed at the man who was responsible for the torment of her pack. If only she could draw blood, she didn't care if she died for it.

The scientist's eyes glinted with something that was Yani's equivalent to amusement. "We've always known what you were, silly girl. You're a ball python, jaguar mix. Snake and cat, basically." If there was one thing Chimerae knew, it was animals. They didn't need the outside world for that. They probably knew more about animals than anyone else alive who didn't have a degree in zoology.
Yani raised his eyebrows and turned to Devon, letting the words process in his mind before answering. He looked down at John, silently agreeing, then began to speak. "You are free for the rest of the evening," he said to Devon. "Take any Chimerae you would--"
He was cut off as Apsalar's hooked talon caught his upper arm, tearing the skin as it left his wound. Dark blood immediately began to stain the white dress shirt and his lab coat. He looked at Apsalar, directly, unreadable eyes. One could almost say there was a flash of anger, but it was gone. "You may take this Chimera in for experimentation," he said, voice level and gaze steady. "Feel free to perform any amount of testing to get the research you need."
The scientist broke his gaze to leave the room, then stopped and half-turned to look back. "If you want to, experiment on Jonathon as well." This proved two things: Yani knew about their given names and, therefore, their kinship with one another. The second was that Yani was willing to kill off a valuable Chimera in the effort to break that bond. John would have to be incredibly strong to survive a fight with Project Upsilon, disciplinary action, and experimentation within a two-hour period.
He left the room to bandage his wound, scientists staring after him without saying a word, frightened by his silence. The only interaction he had was an offered bandage and disinfectant.

((I leave for one day and you guys add two pages. Aah!))
((@Autumn: Thanks for the compliment ^^))
((@Ollie: Neurotoxin=/= Hemotoxin? Mmmkay Oo [So many plost ideas to discuss with you when I get home.] ))
Lonomia could not understand a word Iruka said, but the purple vapor had certainly frightened him. He jerked back, expecting excruciating pain. When none came, he stared in wonder; he hadn't been hurt, and though the tentacle had brushed against his hair, the other hadn't been hurt either. The boy's antifreeze green eyes settled on Iruka, amazed. He pushed his hand against the side of his cage, poking a few fingers through. "Touch," he requested feebly. If someone wouldn't be hurt by him, he had to know.
Tobart said anything and everything that came to mind to comfort Apsalar. "Don't worry; he's fine, see? He's breathing. Heart still beating. He'll be just fine; we'll all be just fine." He raced to come up with more, his voice only a whisper. "Apsalar, Apsalar, snap out of it! Apsalar, you can ignore it; control yourself. You are a beautiful human girl, not a monster." Tobart wasn't sure where that last part came from, but he didn't much care; he just needed to help her.
Tobart's eyes kept shifting from Apsalar to Yani and Devon. The new one was going to get it soon. Apsalar would be after if she didn't calm down. He would be next if he kept talking, drawing attention to himself. Completely stressed, he could not figure what he should do, when the beautiful human girl leaped into the front of her cage, clawing at Yani, "Apsalar, don't!!" he called, though was far too late.
He could not help the small feeling of pride and satisfaction that one of his own had wounded the hellish b*****d, though.

Apsalar didn't flinch when Yani's gaze met hers - she'd seen it coming almost before she'd gone after him. And she was riding a high. She'd actually gotten him, and it had given her a feeling of getting her own back in some small way; one that any experiment would not take away, since it would have happened at some point anyway. At least, so she told herself.
And, yes, the vaguely intoxicating scent of blood from a hated enemy, and knowing she'd drawn it, probably did have something to do with that.
Still flying on the euphoria, she turned her gaze to Tobart for a second. What might possibly be the first smile she'd ever given flashed across her face, quick and wicked.
Then she was swept up in the removal orchestrated by TAIS. She had not missed the fact that Johnathan was coming with her, and she calculated the meaning of this quickly in her mind. For some reason or other, probably his escape, Yani really wanted John dead.
She wondered how long she could distract the scientist's attention. Being violent, temperamental and uncooperative might buy him some time, and she'd already proven she could do it, hadn't she?
Sure. She'd see if she could keep him distracted at least until...
Well, as long as she could.
Accordingly, the preparations Devon had requested took a good deal longer than should strictly have been necessary. Strapped down to the table, Apsalar was still scratching at the metal - a grating, annoying noise that would piss off any sane being. She was also idly wondering if she could tip it over. Not for escape purposes, since she'd still be tied to it. Just to be annoying.
