Zane: Shroomish, use Drain Punch!
Shroomish jumped into the air again, ready to stomp on Sableye with a Drain Punch.
Grunt: Sableye, use Fake Out!
Sableye sped to Shroomish and knocked her to the ground, flinching her.
Zane: No worries, Shroomish. Now use Stun Spore!
Shroomish shot a Stun Spore from the top of her head, paralyzing Sableye.
Grunt: Alright then, I can status you as well. Sableye, use Swagger!
Sableye snapped and Shroomish was suddenly confused. However, Shroomish's attack power was also maximized, but this now meant that if she hurt herself in confusion, she would take maximum damage.
Zane: Shroomish, use Headbutt!
Shroomish, luckily, didn't hurt herself in confusion and launched at Sableye with a full powered Headbutt attack. It knocked Sableye back a few feet and flinched him.
Zane: Follow up with Bullet Seed!
Shroomish again didn't hurt herself in confusion. She shot a series of thick seeds out of the top of her head which hit Sableye, dealing massive damage.
Grunt: Arggh, this is no fair! Sableye, use Shadow Sneak! Sableye suddenly disappeared and his shadow sped towards Shroomish at high speed, hurting her as it passed her. Sableye then slowly rose out of the ground from his shadow after the attack was done.
Zane: You're doing great, Shroomish. Finish him off with Bullet Seed!
Unfortunately, Shroomish finally hurt herself in confusion, dealing massive damage to herself. The Team Rocket grunt laughed.
Grunt: Now use Fury Swipes!
Sableye jumped right in front of Shroomish and began to scratch her rapidly with his claws.
Zane: Come on Shroomish, use Headbutt!
Shroomish snapped out of confusion just in time. With little health left, she interrupted Sableye's Fury Swipes by headbutting him hard on the chin. He was thrown upwards into the sky and he fell to the ground fainted.
Grunt: Sableye, return! I've still got one pokemon left, and this one is waaaaaaaaaaaay tougher than the last two. Come on out, Aggron!
A large, ferocious looking Aggron came from his pokeball. Towering over Shroomish, he roared, trying to intimidate her. Zane was worried. Shroomish, however, showed no signs of fear, which relaxed Zane and made him more confident.
Zane: You're right Shroomish, you can handle this!
Steven smiled.

LSSJ6 Kor Cerebral Perception "Gah! Forget you, Norman!" Izzie ran west, until she reached the ocean. She threw in a Net Ball. Nothing happened. She threw another. Nothing again. She threw another. Tentacool was caught! Tentacool was released. She threw another. Nothing. She threw another. Still nothing. She threw one more. Miraculously, Wailmer was caught! She sent it out and jumped on its back. "On to Dewford, my new Wailmer!" They set off. ((Actually, it just didn't really feel right, so I didn't do it.))

Zane stared at Aggron, trying to quickly think of a strategy which would be useful against it. "Remember," Steven said to Zane, "Shroomish's attack is still maximized from the Swagger. Don't return her because that will cancel the stat changes. Also, she's still poisoned, so she'll be recovering health every turn." Zane nodded.
Zane: Alright then, Shroomish, let's start this off with a Headbutt!
Shroomish headbutted Aggron hard in the stomach, but it was not very effective. She restored health from the poison, however.
Grunt: Aggron, use Metal Claw!
Aggron swiped at Shroomish with claws full of steel.
Zane: Shroomish, jump to dodge!
Shroomish jumped high into the air, avoiding the Metal Claw.
Zane: Now use Drain Punch!
Shroomish then fell back down onto Aggron, stomping on him with a powerful Drain Punch. It was 4x super effective, and therefore allowed Shroomish to sap a great deal of health from Aggron.
Grunt: Iron Tail!
Aggron then turned around, smacking Shroomish hard in the face with his massive tail. Shroomish flew back and crashed into Regice's chamber.
Zane: Are you alright, Shroomish?
Shroomish turned to Zane and smiled.
Zane: Alright then, use Bullet Seed!
Shroomish did as commanded.
Grunt: Use Heavy Bomber right into the Bullet Seed!
Aggron ran right into the Bullet Seed and then tackled Shroomish using all of his body weight. Shroomish flew backwards once again and slammed right into Regice's chamber.
Zane: Shroomish, use Drain Punch again to recover some health!
Shroomish had trouble getting to her feet.
Grunt: Aggron, use Heavy Bomber again!
Shroomish struggled as she tried to get to her feet. Meanwhile, Aggron charged towards her again with another Heavy Bomber.
Zane: Come on, Shroomish, you can do this!
Upon hearing these words, Shroomish's eyes ignited with determination. Her whole body began to glow and her shape changed as she got to her feet. She evolved into a Breloom.
Zane: Nice job, Breloom!
Just before Aggron hit Breloom with Heavy Bomber, Breloom kicked off of the ground and dodge the attack. Aggron collided right into Regice's chamber. Breloom landed right behind him and then punched him hard in the back with a Drain Punch. Aggron screamed in pain.
Grunt: Aggron, knock her back with your tail!
Aggron's tail began to violently swing towards Breloom. Suddenly, Breloom was surrounded by a protective sphere, shielding her from the attack.
Zane: Nice! You learned Protect! Now get some distance between you and Aggron to avoid future Iron Tails and use Bullet Seed!
Breloom began to hop backwards, shooting Aggron with a powerful Bullet Seed at the same time.
Aggron finally got back to his feet and turned to face Breloom.
Grunt: Use Heavy Bomber!
Zane: Use Drain Punch!
The two attacks collided and both pokemon were knocked back. Breloom, however, landed skillfully on her feet. Aggron fell right to the ground.
Zane: Now finish this off with Drain Punch!
Breloom jumped into the air with her fist glowing with energy. She then landed right on Aggron, punching him and sapping the rest of his health.
The rocket grunt screamed as she returned Aggron to it's pokeball. "I was sure I'd be able to finish you off with this pokemon! Ughhh!" She then began to run towards the edge of the island. Zane, Steven, Combusken, and Breloom took chase.
"Starly, come on out and use Pursuit on the escaping grunt!" Starly emerged from his pokeball and sped towards the Rocket Grunt, leaving a black trail behind him. He ran right into her, knocking her off her feet. "Now hold her down until we get there, Starly!" Starly used Double Team, making several copies of himself which worked together to pin the grunt to the ground.
Zane and Steven ran up to the grunt and tied her up so she couldn't escape again. They then called the police and waited for them to pick her up for arrest.

LSSJ6 Kor Kor: "Ditto Transform into a Breloom and use Mach Punch on Umbreon." Lanette: "Counter it with Shadow Ball." Ditto's Mach Punch makes contact with the Shadow Ball and smashes thru it easily and then makes contact with Umbreon. Ditto takes a very small amount of damage from smashing thru Shadow Ball and Umbreon takes a large amount putting it in the mid yellow. Lanette: "Wow it is pretty powerful that Ditto of yours. Umbreon use Dig." Kor: "Ditto use Mind Reader to find out where Umbreon will come out and then use Dynamic Punch." Umbreon uses Dig and Ditto uses Mind Reader. Ditto then moves to the location where Umbreon is gonna come out of the ground and charges a Dynamic Punch. Umbreon comes out of the ground and gets hit by Dynamic Punch taking massive damage from it and also becoming confused. Umbreon is now in the low red. Lanette: "Umbreon use Payback now." Kor: "Ditto use Protect." Umbreon tries to use Payback but takes damage from confusion and faints. Ditto had use Protect, but it didn't need to and it stopped the Protect after Umbreon faints.

Zane and Steven reached Dewford Island in the afternoon. After a trip to the pokecenter, Zane and Steven sat by the ocean and talked.
"When do you think you want to challenge Brawly?" Steven asked.
"I'm not sure, to be honest. I'd like to get a little bit more training in beforehand, but I'm not sure if there are any new places for me to train," Zane replied.
"Of course there are," said Steven, "Granite cave is just to the north and there are plenty of trainers that make good experience as well." Zane nodded in agreement before he and Steven got to their feet and headed to Granite Cave.
Upon entering, the cave was pitch black. Zane couldn't even see his hand in front of his own face. Steven the sent Metagross from its pokeball and had it use Flash to light up the area.
The cave was rather small. The ceiling rose high, revealing a second floor to the cave. "How many floors are in this place?" Zane asked. "Only three," Steven said, "there's this floor, a basement floor, and a floor above. Follow me and I'll take you as deep into the cave as possible. That's where the more powerful pokemon are."
Zane followed Steven down a ladder, then up a ladder, then down and up a few more times until they were walking in a very narrow hallway, which seemed to be getting wider. Eventually, after many turns, they reached a large room which was concealed deep within the cave. There were many species of pokemon around, one of which Zane recognized to be the first stage of Aggron.
Steven gestured to the pokemon inhabiting the area, "now you can just pick your opponent. Any of these pokemon should be willing to battle with you." Zane nodded and sent Starly from its pokeball. After taunting a nearby Makuhita, Zane and Starly began their battle.
"Starly, start this off with Aerial Ace," Zane commanded. Starly swooped down and struck Makuhita with his beak. Makuhita then followed up with an Arm Thrust attack, punching Starly 4 times as he flew past.
"Don't worry Starly. Now use Double Team followed up by Quick Attack!" Starly split into 4 individual Starly's, each of which sped towards Makuhita. Makuhita quickly countered with Bullet Punch, though, making one of the clones disappear, therefore only taking damage from 3 of the Starlys. Starly flew back into the air as the clones faded away after the attack.
Makuhita was now panting, low on HP. "Now Starly, finish this off with Aerial Ace!" Starly swooped down one last time, KOing Makuhita with a peck of his beak.
"Nice job!" Zane said, hugging his Starly, "Although, we did have a bit of a type advantage there. Let's pick a more difficult opponent, like that one," Zane said, pointing to a nearby Lairon.

After battling Lairon, Zane and Starly battled many other pokemon, including Sableye, Mawile, Zubat, and many other Arons. Zane was about to start batting another nearby pokemon when Steven put his hand on Zane's chest, stopping him.
"Hang on," Steven said, "there's a rare pokemon in here. One that I thought only inhabited Meteor Falls." Intrigued, Zane looked in the direction Steven was pointing to see a small blue dragon ramming his head repeatedly against the wall.
"What is that pokemon?" Zane asked, removing his notebook from his bag and taking notes on the pokemon's behavior.
"It's a Bagon. One of the rarest pokemon to this region. You want to catch it?" Steven smiled as his eyes glowed with excitement.
"Of course!" Zane said, "Just give me a sec first, I have to finish writing up this report."
"Report?" Steven questioned.
"Yeah," replied Zane, "I'm an intern for Professor Birch. We're re-writing the Hoenn dex."
"Wow, that's a great opportunity." Steven smiled as he watched Zane scribble the last bits of his report.
"Now," Zane said, sending Combusken from it's pokeball, "use Nitro Charge!"
Combusken burst into flames as she tackled Bagon into the wall which he was banging his head against. Bagon yelped angrily, then turned around and released a burst of purple flames from his mouth. Combusken stumbled backwards as he received the Dragonbreath attack. However, the Nitro Charge combined with the Speed Boost ability doubled Combusken's speed.
"Combusken, use Focus Energy!" Combusken performed a martial arts pose as he became enshrouded in a red aura. His eyes flamed with intensity and her speed rose again.
Bagon then launched himself at Combusken with a Headbutt attack, dealing average damage to Combusken. "Now use Double Kick!" Combusken was unable to move, he was flinched by Bagon's Headbutt. His speed, however, rose again. Bagon then fired another burst of Dragonbreath at Combusken as he backed up away from Combusken's legs' reach.
"Combusken, use Nitro Charge!" Combusken burst into flames and ran towards Bagon at incredible speed. Bagon tried to dodge, but Combusken was too fast and slammed Bagon into the cave's wall. Combusken was now at max speed.
"Follow up with Double Kick!" Zane said. Bagon was still leaning against the wall when Combusken powerfully kicked him with each of his legs. Bagon yelped in pain, but refused to give up.
Unexpectedly, Bagon opened his mouth and released a insanely powerful stream of water which blasted Combusken into the cave's ceiling. "Hydro Pump?!" Zane shouted in awe. Combusken fell to the floor. Bagon then focused his energy, using Dragon Dance as he became surrounded by a purple aura.
Bagon charged at Combusken with another superpowered Headbutt attack. "Come on Combusken, you can do it!" Zane shouted as Combusken struggled to get back to his feet. Bagon headbutted Combusken hard in the chest, sending him back a few more feet.
Bagon laughed and then opened his mouth, using Hydro Pump again. "Dodge!" Combusken quickly got to his feet and jumped several feet into the air, avoiding the Hyrdo Pump.
"Now fall onto Bagon with a Peck attack!" Combusken fell headfirst onto Bagon, striking his skull with his pointed beak. Bagon stumbled for a bit, but still refused to give up.
"Now follow up with Double Kick!" Combusken landed right next to Bagon and kicked him powerfully with each of his feet, sending him flying towards the cave wall again. "Now follow up with Fire Spin!" Combusken did as commanded, and finally KO'd Bagon with a Fire Spin attack.
"Wonderful!" Steven cheered, "Now to ahead and catch him!" With a smile, Zane threw a pokeball at the fainted Bagon. The pokeball wiggled around a bit, but eventually let out a 'ding' signaling a successful capture. Combusken and Zane cheered at the new capture.
They then headed back out of the cave and to the pokecenter for some healing.

Izzie was happy on the back of her Wailmer, but something knocked her over. She surfaced just in time to see some sort of blue dragonoid holding a shining orb..... It rushed out of sight quickly. She dived back down and grabbed her Vulpix. She returned it to its ball. "Poor thing, Fire types don't belong in water...." She climbed back on her Wailmer. "Wailmer, we're halfway there, double speed! Let's get to the PokeCenter quick, we can't let Vulpix catch a cold!"

Kor: "Well then shall we get moving Kari and Max?"
Kor says that after getting w/in hearing range of Kari and Max, but not close enough to overhear their secretive conversation.
Lanette: "Kor thank you for the battle. It's been a while since Umbreon has battled. Would you mind taking her on your journey thru the Hoenn Region? I think she'd enjoy to battle more often than she does currently. You can have her for now if you want though I will want her back later."
Kor: "Are you sure about this?"
Lanette: "Yes. I am. You seem to be an excellent Trainer and I know you'll treat her well."
Kor: "Okay then. I'll return her to you after my Hoenn Gym Challenge. Does that sound good to you?"
Lanette: "That'll be fine."

Lance turned around to thank the unknown trainer for helping him. He could only see the mans back. As he walked through the patch of grass. Where Lance had encountered the wild Spearow.
He backed up in fear of being attacked again. It was time for him to take his Pidgey to a safer place.
Lance held Pidgeys pokeball in his right hand.
Lance- Return Pidgey
The beam of red light shot out of the Pokeball. Pidgey moved quickly to the left of the stream. Then, it charged its own trainer.
Lance was struck right below his left knee. By a peck attack that the Pidgey had used.
Afterwords, he just stood there. Holding onto his own wound with his left hand.
After that, Pidgey ran off toward a nearby plant. Which had recently been placed there by Lances neighbor.
The Pidgey struck the stem of the plant. Just as it had Lances let with its beak. Then, the creature just stood there. Opening its beat as though it had done something good.
Lance- This Pidgey is crazy I tell you.

Allow me to show you my thoughts....Izzie and Wailmer arrived in Dewford. She jumped off its back. "Wailmer, stay here!" She rushed to the PokeCenter, and tossed Nurse Joy her pokeball with Vulpix in it. "Nurse Joy, Vulpix got all wet! Help me! IwasridingonthebackofWailmerwhensomethingknockedmeoverandknockedVulpixrightoutofmyarmspleasedosomethingformyVulpix!" ......and that was the cerebral perception.

Zane, Steven, and Combusken found their way out of Granite Cave and were on their way back to the pokecenter when Zane saw his rival, Daisy, exiting Brawly's gym. "Daisy!" Zane shouted, waving to her, "Did you battle Brawly?"
Daisy turned to Zane and her eyes widened. She raced excitedly in his direction. "Huh?" Zane was confused, Daisy had never been this excited to see him before, but she ran right past him and stopped right in front of Steven.
"Oh my gosh! It's the Hoenn champion!" Daisy squealed. She pulled out a marker and asked him to sign one of her pokeballs. Steven laughed as he gave his autograph.
"Yes, I am Steven, and you are?"
"I'm Daisy, a pokemon trainer. And I promise you'll be battling me once I beat the Hoenn League."
Steven smiled, "Only if you can manage to beat my friend over there." Steven pointed to Zane.
"WHAT?!" Daisy yelled when she turned to Zane, "YOU are friends with Steven?" Zane nodded. Daisy then turned back to Steven, "Oh don't worry about him, I've already beat him in a pokemon battle."
"Then show me," Steven put his hands in his pocket, "A 2 versus 2 battle. Anyone can substitute, and I'll ref."
Zane and Daisy both agreed, and then positioned themselves a battle field's length apart from each other for a battle.
